Character Study~
Luffy was a pirate. First and foremost, he was a pirate. Although he had a way with people, and he drew people to him like he exuded a magnetic force, he was a pirate. He was not a hero. He was not a “good” person. He was selfish and he was determined. He will be the king of pirates, and he will destroy those in his way. He will steal and kill and hurt, and he will get his way.
Luffy holds his crew and his brothers in the depths of his heart, and for them, he would make exceptions.
But something to keep in mind, no matter what good deeds Monkey D. Luffy does, he is a pirate first and foremost.
Roronoa Zoro would die for his Captain. That is fact. He will train himself to the point of breaking, and he will go past all limits to be able to be of benefit to his Captain on his journey to become the King of Pirates. He will cut and kill and torture at his Captain’s wish (and for his own personal desire) and he will protect his crew. He will protect his Captain and his crew with all of his strength, and when that gives out, with his life. Roronoa Zoro is Mugiwara’s first mate, and only those cracked in the head would attempt to disparage their bond and separate them.
Sanji. Sanji was a cook. But he was also a lover and a force of nature. He will easily kick someone’s head clean off of their body, with a sickening crack and a spew of blood, and than turn around and cook the loveliest meal that fills his crew with strength and necessary nutrients that are vital for life on the sea. Ladies are his downfall, but to him, it is unacceptable to harm a lady. And no one, no one, compromised his morals. He has the strength to rely on his family, his crew, when he needs it, when he calls out, he knows they will come.
Ace was fire, he was pain. He held darkness in his heart but he held his brothers above that abyss. Always. He burned and burned and burned, and he became so used to burning that he no longer felt it. He cherished his brothers and he respected them (to an extent). He cherished his Captain (his father, not by blood but blood does not matter to him, for family is so much stronger than the red liquid that runs through veins) His past, and his origins always held a heavy weight on his shoulders, but his family had taken hold of it and lifted it enough that he could breathe again. His brothers would always love him, as will his crew, and that meant the entire world to Ace. No materialistic treasure could ever triumph over that.
Sabo. Sabo was a revolutionary. He hated nobles and the deadly hierarchy that stemmed from the twisted politics created and reinforced by those will political power. He was clever, sly and had a distinct way with words. He was protective and he was responsible. But when pushed, he will throw all logic out of the windows and let himself burn, like Ace, with emotions and he will utilize those as a strength. This did not happened often, but when his brothers, or those he loved, were in trouble, he will be there. Sabo is reliable, and he is dangerously intelligent.
