I.
Lauren stifled a yawn behind her hand and tried desperately to pay attention to Hermann. His voice was so monotone as he droned on about proper protocol during house raids, the only variety to his speech occurring when his words got louder (he was apparently very passionate about house raid protocol).
It was one of those slow, dull mornings that dragged on like molasses, filled with meetings and bureaucracy. Right now, Lauren stood at the back of the conference room as Hermann gave his weekly lecture to the whole of the 11th Precinct. Hopefully she was hidden enough behind all the other bodies that the captain wouldn’t see her yawn widely.
Just as Lauren’s eyes started to droop again, she felt a familiar presence sidle up beside her, warm and smelling like lavender and something else that made her chest tighten.
“Good morning, detective.” Kieran breathed in her ear, his hand brushing her lower back.
“Shhhh, I’m trying to listen.” Lauren whispered back. She felt his fingers tap a rhythm through her dress shirt and willed herself not to shiver.
“Well, to me it looked like you were about to fall asleep.” Kieran said. His lips bumped her ear and she could feel his smirk on her skin. “Did last night tire you out, darling?”
Lauren’s breath hitched as her mind whirled through her evening at Kieran’s apartment. The quirk of his lips as she had crawled closer to him on the couch, the feel of his hands running along her thighs, the way he sounded while his hips snapped against—
“Stop it.” Lauren hissed, feeling her face heat up.
“Am I flustering you, love?” he whispered, his hand traveling lower along her back. Hermann’s voice was a buzz in the back of her mind at this point.
“No.” she said, hating that he had such an effect on her. They’d been dating for months! She should be used to…him. But just his touch had her on edge, her skin begging for him to run his hands all over it.
Their relationship had always been passionate and fiery and impatient, but Lauren thought that after the first month of frenzied makeout sessions and frantic hookups they would be able to contain themselves.
You know what? I can contain myself. It’s Kieran that’s having issues with it.
Once they’d begun their romantic relationship, Kieran had opened up even more to her, emotionally and physically. Lauren was grateful for the closeness, but now it seemed like Kieran’s boldness had no end.
Like now, in the back of the crowded meeting room, for example.
Kieran’s hand moved even lower, his fingers bumping her waistband and sliding over the curve of her ass.
That’s it.
She slapped his hand away, face burning hot. She shot him a silent glare, trying to communicate to him that they were literally in public.
He put his hands behind his back, trying to smother his smile, but, at the next available moment, leaned in to whisper in her ear again.
“Come to the archives.” he breathed. “I can lock the door.”
Lauren’s heart lurched and she pushed away the tantalizing temptation.
“No.” she seethed, then turned away from him completely, turning her attention back to the meeting.
Someone needs to take him down a notch or two.
II.
Lauren raced out of the dark office building, shooting a glance behind her to make sure no more assailants followed them. Kieran ran next to her, dressed in his Lune outfit.
“You still have the files, right?” he huffed as they hid behind a phone booth across the street from the office building.
She nodded, digging through the bag at her side and pulling out three packed file folders. They were filled with potential incriminating information about aristocrats who sympathized with the Phantom Scythe.
Lauren thought the mission tonight would be much tougher, but her and Kieran practically waltzed into the building, tracked down the files, and were almost out when a few Scythe recruits surprised them at the door. Lauren and her fellow Lune partner dispatched them easily and got out quick.
Now, holding one of the biggest caches of evidence against the Phantom Scythe, Lauren felt a smile form on her lips. Her chest felt warm with joy and triumph. Looking at Kieran in the glow of the streetlight, she could see he was proud, too.
Both of their heads jerked back to the building across the street as they heard voices calling from within.
“Shit. Let’s get out of here.” Kieran muttered, grabbing Lauren’s arm and pulling her along to run into the darkness of the city.
They jogged for a while, hearts pumping with adrenaline and excitement, until, about two blocks away from the offices, Kieran slowed to a stop, gesturing to a secluded and shadowed alleyway next to the street. Confused, Lauren followed him into the darkness.
“What are you—” she started, but she didn’t get to finish. Kieran ripped off his mask and pulled hers down roughly, then pushed her against the wall, his lips seeking hers desperately. Lauren let out a shaky sigh and returned the kiss, reaching her gloved hands up to knock his hat off and twine her fingers in his thick hair. His lips were fever-hot, furiously moving against her own as his hands ran down her thighs. Lauren could feel the blood rushing in her ears as she turned her head to deepen the kiss, moaning when his tongue slid into her mouth. She was so hot, she felt like she was going to explode with need and passion in the middle of this dark alleyway.
Kieran pushed his thigh in between her legs, grinding it against her heat as his lips traveled down to mouth at her jaw. Lauren gasped and moved against his leg for a moment, feeling the delicious friction against her core and loving the way his hands ran along her sides reverently.
God, he was so good at this.
She brought his face back up to hers hungrily, sliding her lips against his once again. He pushed his thigh harder against her and she gasped into his mouth, her heart hammering.
“God, Kieran…” she sighed between kisses. The sound echoed against the alley walls, making Lauren’ lips slow.
We’re in an alley in the middle of the city, about to rip each other’s clothes off. Anyone could walk by. Hell, the Phantom Scythe guards could be looking for us!
“What’s wrong, baby?” Kieran breathed, mouthing kisses down her neck.
Lauren swallowed her need and pushed at his chest.
“We can’t do this here.” she said, and she knew anyone would be able to hear the reluctance in her voice. “And we need to deliver these files to the precinct.”
“The precinct can wait.” Kieran said in a whining tone, his hands running along her thighs.
“Do you want to hook up with me in a dingy alleyway or save the citizens of Ardhalis?” Lauren deadpanned, pushing Kieran off of her and retrieving the files. “Now come on.”
III.
“Another shot for the brand-new Second Lieutenant?” Lauren asked, holding a shot glass of whiskey out to an already-very-drunk Kym.
“Yesssss!” Kym screeched, hopping up from her seat unsteadily and whisking the shot out of Lauren’s hand. She downed it instantly and slammed the glass on the table, laughing maniacally.
Usually Lauren would be uncomfortable with making her best friend even more crazy than she usually was, but Kym wasn’t the only one who was a few drinks in already. If Kym was insane at other people’s promotion parties, she was sure to be an absolute lunatic at her own party celebrating her promotion to Second Lieutenant.
Lauren preferred to be drunk as well so she wouldn’t remember too much of the madness come tomorrow.
“Sit back down now.” a deep voice said from beside her in her friends’ booth, a large hand tugging at her blouse impatiently. She turned and smiled at Kieran, who seemed to have the same drinking strategy as her. His face was slightly flushed and he had left his archivist glasses somewhere else, his azure eyes just as piercing as always. It seemed like Archivist Kieran wasn’t present tonight as her boyfriend wore a black button-up with the sleeves rolled up and two buttons already unbuttoned.
He looks irresistible.
“Yeah, sit down!” Kym said, pushing Lauren on the shoulder and making her fall back into the booth due to her drunken lack of coordination. She landed halfway in Kieran’s lap and considered just staying there, but eventually climbed off of him and leaned her elbows on the table, watching Kym skip over to Will and drag him over to the stage at the other side of the bar.
“Are they going to do karaoke together?” Lauren asked Kieran curiously.
“If they do, she’ll have to handcuff Will to the mic stand.” Kieran joked.
Lauren let out a giggle and leaned against Kieran, feeling the alcohol in her system cloud her head and make her body pleasantly warm.
She felt Kieran’s arm shift against hers and move to rub her back, his head dipping to talk to her despite the loud music around them.
“I seem to recall you mentioning your skill with handcuffs some time ago.” he said into her ear. Lauren’s eyelids dipped for a moment as he leaned closer to press his lips to a spot behind her ear.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Lauren said back, playing coy. Oh, she remembered.
“Let me give you a refresher later on my bed.” he whispered. His hand trailed down her back, finding a sliver of skin exposed between her blouse and her pants. His rough fingers slipped underneath the fabric and Lauren almost shook from the feeling of his skin on hers. The world around them was hazy and nondescript but this booth in the shadowy corner was crystal clear.
“What are your plans with these handcuffs?” Lauren asked finally, giving into the temptation. Kieran moved his face down to nuzzle into her neck, his lips smiling against her.
“I have a few ideas.” he murmured. “I could handcuff you to the bed and go down on you for hours…”
Lauren swallowed, her mouth suddenly dry. Kieran’s lips moved against her neck, his fingers scratching against the skin of her hip.
“I could kiss every inch of your body while you watched.”
Lauren’s eyes closed. It was too hot in this room. She needed some water.
“Or maybe I’d blindfold you so all you could do is feel my lips exploring you…”
That’s it.
Lauren turned, pulling at Kieran’s shirt and bringing his lips to hers. He responded eagerly, his hand under her shirt gripping her hip tighter and pulling her closer. Lauren deepened the kiss quickly, the burning knot in her chest tightening and tightening. Her hands gripped the silky fabric of that damned black shirt, feeling the hard muscles of his pecs through the thin layer. Fuck, she wanted to tear that shirt off his torso and run her tongue down every scar and plane of his chest…
“I guess you liked my idea, huh?” Kieran grinned, breaking the kiss for a moment. Lauren didn’t let him keep talking and smashed her lips to his again, starved for his touch. After a moment of hazy bliss, she gathered enough concentration to break away from him and answer.
“Why am I the one getting handcuffed to the bed?” she asked, her lips inches from his, eyes heavy-lidded. Kieran’s eyes widened in shock but quickly settled into a mischievous smirk.
“Oh, so you’re in charge now?” he mocked, his free hand coming up to touch her chin and bring her lips to his again.
“Ewww, you guys.” a voice said next to them, forcing Lauren to break free from Kieran’s spell. Kym and Will stood at the side of the booth, Kym half-leaning on Will, who looked decidedly disgruntled.
Lauren looked back at Kieran and realized that she’d shifted so close to Kieran that she was practically on his lap. Based on Kieran’s disheveled and dazed appearance, she judged that she didn’t look much better.
“Get a room!” Kym booed, sliding into the other side of the booth with Will. Lauren gave her the finger but moved a few inches away from Kieran, running a hand through her hair. The room was so warm.
Kym took up most of the conversation, her mouth running faster and faster with the more alcohol she ingested. Lauren did another shot, this time, to her surprise, with Will. She supposed even he had his limits when it came to dealing with Kym sober.
The minutes blurred and congealed in her mind. She remember stacking glasses at some point, then leaning back into Kieran’s side, suddenly okay with his warmth. She recalled his hand traveling over the curve of her ass again, her fingers trailing up his thigh…and suddenly the room was too hot to handle anymore.
“I’m gonna go get some air.” Lauren announced suddenly, her words slightly slurring. She stood up and swayed for a minute, then left the booth, giving Kieran what she hoped was an intentional look.
Somehow she didn’t fall over as she made her way around the mass of people in the bar, dodging tables and flailing officers, hearing off-key karaoke, smelling the sharp tinge of vodka and the tartness of lime. Eventually she made it to the deserted hallway she remembered so clearly from that New Year’s Eve party. It was lit with cool blue light from the moon outside, the shadows long and dark on the wooden floor.
Lauren heard footsteps behind her and turned, her lips curling into a smile when she saw who it was.
So he did get my signal.
“Are we leaving without saying goodbye?” Kieran asked, ambling over to her and glancing out the door for a moment.
“We’re not leaving yet.” Lauren said, stepping closer to him, crowding him closer to the wall with a challenging look. Her chest brushed his, their breaths intermingling in the near-darkness.
Then the tension broke and their lips collided passionately, Lauren grabbing his shirt again and pushing him hard into the wall. Kieran wrapped his hands around her back, her waist, her hair, leaving her skin burning hot and begging for more. Lauren dragged her hands lower to untuck his shirt from his pants, gliding her hands over the skin of his chest as she ran her tongue across his bottom lip. Kieran groaned, his hands getting tighter on her hips and kissing her with bruising force.
They were operating on pure instinct at this point, their brains too addled with lust and alcohol to chime in. Kieran’s hands traveled up Lauren’s torso, grabbing her breast through her blouse, finding her nipple even through the fabric. Lauren moaned, the sound bleeding into Kieran’s open mouth, then cursed in frustration as some semblance of rationality came back to her.
Anyone could walk in. We have to—we have to…
Kieran thrust his hips against hers, his thumb running across her nipple again, and Lauren temporarily lost her train of thought. It came back as Kieran’s fingers ran back down her body, ready to untuck her shirt. She broke the kiss and moved to pull away, but Kieran wrapped his strong hands around her waist and brought her close to him again, back in his orbit. He caught her lip with his teeth, smiling, then soothed it with his tongue, his arms tight around her back.
“I know you want me.” he rasped, breathing hard. “I’m sure we can find somewhere private here.”
At those words, something fiery in Lauren flared to life, but not the aching lust from before. Something else entirely.
Her competitive streak.
She pulled her face away and pried herself out of his grasp, crossing her arms and cocking her hip in front of him.
I’m not going to let him seduce me into having sex with him in some dirty bar bathroom. It’s not that easy.
She studied her creation, panting against the wall: his mussed midnight hair, his bruised, red lips, the marks on his neck getting darker by the moment, the considerable tent in his pants. Kieran looked ruined, like he should be steaming from the ears with need. Lauren smirked at the sight. This she could work with.
And at that thought, she turned abruptly on her heel back in the direction of the bar, throwing a flirty wink at the man behind her.
IV.
The lights around Lauren glinted gold as she reached over to refill her wineglass. The opulent dining room around her was filled with polite murmuring and the clink of glasses and ornate silverware. She glanced over at her uncle and Dakan sitting a few seats away from her, currently enraptured in conversation with some politician Lauren had vaguely heard of. From the looks of it, they were not looking to leave anytime soon. Lauren slumped back in her seat, her boredom bleeding into her posture.
“Hey, stop slouching, you’re ruining my public image.” Kieran joked in the chair beside her, his hand reaching over to pull her into a normal position. She shrugged him off but straightened with a sigh.
“I hate these dinners.” she said. “I can’t believe you actually wanted to be my plus-one.”
“Maybe I wanted to see how the other side lives!” Kieran said, giving her a smirk. “Plus, it’s a perfect opportunity to see you in a low-cut cocktail dress again.”
Lauren snorted softly, taking a sip of her wine and glancing at the man beside her appreciatively. He wore a pitch-black tuxedo jacket with a crisp white shirt underneath, the jacket hugging his broad shoulders perfectly and matching with his silky hair. She felt a familiar burn in her chest as her eyes trailed over his body but she pushed it away, turning away from him.
I won’t fall for his charms. He has no sway over me. If I give into him now, his narcissism will know no bounds.
She tried to have a meaningless conversation with the woman across from her, but all the woman wanted to talk about was the rapidly rising prices of china in the city. Eventually Lauren weaseled her way out of the conversation and grabbed her wineglass, taking a long drink.
She started slightly when she felt Kieran’s hand brush her thigh and turned her head to look at him, setting her glass down. He grinned at her, his hand sliding up her leg slightly. It didn’t help that she had a shorter dress on with a slit that made it easy for his hand to creep higher and higher…
“Have I told you how sexy you look in this dress, darling?” he asked softly so only she could hear it. She breathed out slowly as he caressed her skin. She knew he could feel her goosebumps.
“With the way you were drooling over me, you didn’t have to say anything.” she said sardonically.
He laughed, low and warm, and Lauren tightened her legs slightly, feeling the fire in her chest sinking lower.
Don’t do it, Lauren.
“Well, if you don’t want me to verbally compliment your dress, I could show my appreciation in…other ways.” he whispered, his fingers sliding to her inner thigh.
“Kieran, my uncle and godfather are here.” she said, taking a hurried sip of wine. She didn’t push his hand off her thigh, though.
“We can find somewhere to be alone.” he said. “That is, unless you’re too scared to sneak away with me.”
Lauren huffed out a frustrated sigh, whipping her head to look at him.
Dammit, he knows how to get what he wants.
“I’m not scared, you bastard.” she hissed.
Well, if it’s me he wants, then he’s going to get it.
“Well, then, mon amour…” he replied, his lids lowering as he smiled slowly. God, she wanted to devour that stupid sexy little smirk.
“We should…” she started, and then, slightly louder: “We should check on our valet, Kieran, you remember what he told us?”
Hopefully that’s a good enough alibi.
“Oh, you’re right.” Kieran agreed, picking up on her ruse quickly. “Let’s go check on it real quick.”
He stood up, helping her out of her chair as well. They walked out of the huge dining room with (hopefully) minimal attention on them. As soon as they were out of eyesight, Kieran grabbed Lauren’s hand, intertwining her fingers in his.
“Where to next, my love?” he asked playfully. She smiled knowingly, rubbing her thumb over his hand.
The perfect picture of obedience.
“I’ve actually been here before.” she said, pulling him with her down the deserted hallway. “I have the perfect spot.”
He chuckled and followed her around a few corners, then to a thick wooden door at the end of the hallway. Lauren tried the doorknob and luckily the door swung open, revealing a mahogany staircase going deeper into the earth.
“Ooooh.” Kieran said as she pushed him through the door, closing it behind her. She knew he heard the lock click.
They descended the stairs and Lauren found the light switch, flipping it on to illuminate a room filled with wine bottles, mahogany shelving, shining gold filigree, and two cushy leather couches.
“This is the fanciest wine cellar I’ve ever seen.” Kieran said as he slipped off his tuxedo coat, stopping and looking around at the room for a minute. It smelled like some masculine spiced cologne and cigars, the wine bottles glinting against the glass partitions.
“Well, we’re alone now.” Lauren said after he set his coat down, sidling up behind him and trailing her hands down his back. She felt him make a low noise, the vibration resonating against her nails. He turned, a devilish grin on his face, and leaned closer to her, eyes half closed already…
Lauren pushed him forward, hard, making him stumble backwards with a confused expression.
“What—”
“Sit on the couch.” Lauren demanded, stalking closer. Kieran’s eyes widened, but he just nodded and sat down on the cognac leather.
Time to teach him a lesson.
She raked a hand through her hair and followed him, straddling his lap and surrounding him with her body. Her hair cascaded around his face, blocking out the dim golden light around them as she leaned even closer.
Lauren caught his lips with hers and it felt like dipping into a hot bath after an exhausting day. The push of Kieran’s mouth against hers, the slide of his hands up her back, the feel of his shoulders under his dress shirt…it was addicting. She kissed him harder, forcing his head to rest against the back of the couch, evoking a choked groan from him. He grabbed her ass as she tangled her hands in his hair, pulling at the strands harshly. Her lips curled in satisfaction when he moaned deeper. She worried his lip with her teeth, raking her nails against his scalp. He thrusted his hips against her and she could tell that he was rock-hard. God, she could reach down and unbutton his pants and do the thing she’d been thinking about all night…
Or…
Lauren ground against him but just moved lower to kiss his neck, licking a stripe down his skin. Kieran’s Adam’s apple bobbed as his breath hitched. She slid her hands down to unbutton the top two buttons of his dress shirt, sucking on his collarbone. Kieran’s hands moved to her hips and Lauren had been with him for long enough to know that he wanted to lay her down on the couch and crowd her in with his body as they kissed. She loved that usually, but not tonight.
She sunk her teeth into his clavicle before sitting up in his lap and giving him a harsh stare.
“Don’t you dare.” she growled, grabbing him by the hair and pushing his head back against the couch. “You aren’t in charge here. Understand?”
Kieran nodded, awestruck, and Lauren leaned down to kiss him bruisingly again, moving her hips against his erection, hard. She was so aroused at this, at Kieran under her, panting and groaning because of her. She wondered how long he’d let her be in control.
Her hands danced down his torso, unbuttoning the rest of his shirt with ease and sliding it off his shoulders. She ran her hands down his scarred chest and over his abs, mesmerized by his beauty.
“Like what you see?” Kieran asked, his hand moving up the slit in her dress.
Lauren took her hands away, fixating him with a hard stare for a moment.
“Lay down.” she ordered. Kieran laughed at her expression.
“Damn, someone’s impatient.” he quipped.
Lauren shifted her weight and shoved him down into the couch, putting his head near the armrest on one side. Now she felt really powerful, straddling his bare chest while he looked up at her with admiration.
“You’ve been getting quite an ego lately, darling.” she mocked, moving her legs higher up his chest until she sat right below his sternum. “I think it’s time I remind you who the subordinate is in this relationship, don’t you?”
Kieran swallowed with wide eyes filled with…excitement? As she moved closer, his expression shifted to one of understanding. His hands traveled up her thighs again and hooked around her panties, dragging them down her legs and throwing them on the wine cellar’s floor before gripping her thighs once again.
Lauren’s heart hammered as she lifted herself off his chest and hovered over him, her body making a shadow over his flushed face. He pushed her dress to her waist with one movement, giving her a nod with half-closed, drunken eyes.
And then slowly she lowered herself onto Kieran’s face, onto his eager mouth. She let out a low moan as he ran his tongue along her slit, dipping into her soaked warmth before traveling to circle her clit slowly, languidly. She felt the pressure in her core rise at an alarming pace as he closed his lips around her clit and groaned, the sound vibrating throughout her heat and making her throw her head back in pleasure. He flicked against her bud and she ground against his face unintentionally with a gasp. She moved to give him more room but his hands gripped her ass tightly, keeping her close to him as he ran his tongue over her masterfully, sucking and massaging and making her feel like she was going to faint from the sensations. She knew she was being loud now, keening Kieran’s name as she rode his face, his hands keeping her with him and his eyes closed in bliss and concentration. She felt him jerk a couple times against her and saw him thrusting into the empty air behind her, his dick straining in his dress pants. She brought one hand to curl into his mussed hair, the other holding the couch for support as she ground against his tongue.
Lauren felt fire coiling deep inside her, bringing her so close as Kieran wound her up tighter and tighter…
Then he tilted his head back and thrust his tongue directly into her heat and she fell apart, the fire washing over her in overpowering waves. She let out a choked moan, her legs tightening around his head. His tongue still pressed deeper inside her, drinking her in as she shook around him.
Finally she felt him tap her hip and came down from her high, hurriedly getting off him on shaky legs.
“I’m sorry, are you okay?” she asked, out of breath.
Kieran smiled up at her. His face was dazed, his lips bruised and shining with her need.
“I’m fantastic, darling.” he said after a minute of catching his breath. “I would ask you the same question, but I think I know the answer.”
Lauren let out a laugh and swung one leg off of him to get up.
“We should get back to dinner now.” she said flippantly, moving to leave the couch.
Suddenly she felt Kieran’s hands grab her hips and bring her close to him again, her back against his bare chest. He’d sat up, his hands wrapped possessively around her torso, her body squarely in his lap. She could feel his bulge straining against her sensitive core.
“I’m not done with you yet.” Kieran said lowly from behind her, catching her ear in his teeth possessively.
Lauren laughed, letting him turn her around in his lap so his back was against the couch again. His hands pressed into her back and wound under her dress as he took her lips in his again. Lauren let out a breathy sigh as the rough pads of his fingers traced patterns on her back as he thrust against her. His lips ran down her neck, placing kisses along her jaw, her collarbone, her cleavage. She grabbed his hair again, slightly less rough than before, just twining her fingers into the silky strands, loving the way he growled in the back of his throat as she scratched her nails at the nape of his neck.
“Lauren, can we…” Kieran said against her neck, his breaths warming her skin.
“Yes.” Lauren said hurriedly. “Yes.”
Suddenly the energy became even more frantic than before, their lips and tongues and teeth crashing together as Lauren’s hands traveled down to his belt buckle and Kieran’s hands dove into his back pocket for his wallet.
Lauren parted from his lips for air and let out a giggle as Kieran pulled a condom out of his wallet.
“Were you expecting something to happen tonight?” she asked, unbuttoning his pants.
He offered her a cheeky smile before he ripped open the package with his teeth.
“I figured that I’d had long enough to wear you down at this point.” he admitted.
Lauren let out a frustrated breath, straightening in his arms for a moment.
“Wear me down?” she interrogated.
Kieran shrugged, that damn smile still on his face.
“The last few times I was all touchy with you when we were in public, you seemed pretty turned on.” he said. “I figured that one more time should do the trick.”
“Do the trick?” she seethed.
Kieran lowered his gaze, leveling her with a much different expression. That dark, knowing expression like the one he had as he hovered over him just a few minutes before. Lauren felt her heart jerk.
“Shit, you’re mad again.” he said, sounding wholly not apologetic. “Whatever can I do to earn your forgiveness?”
Earn my forgiveness?
Lauren smiled, and she had a sneaking suspicion her expression looked a lot like Kieran’s particular brand of devilish grin.
She stood up from his lap, grabbed his waistband and, in one motion, pulled his pants down to his knees, freeing his needy erection. Kieran’s breath hitched.
Oh, I’ll get a lot more than that out of you tonight.
Lauren held out a hand and Kieran soundlessly handed her the condom. She kept his eye contact the whole time as she rolled it onto his cock.
I never realized his blush reached his ears.
“Lauren…” he murmured as she got back on his lap, running her hands over his bare chest. From the way he looked, he didn’t even realize he said her name out loud.
And then she was raising herself up, reaching one hand to wrap around him and guide him to where she wanted, and then she slowly sunk down, letting him invade her entire body. Kieran’s hands tightened on her hips and he closed his eyes, the most exquisite look of pleasure wrought on his face. Lauren felt it too, the feel of him radiating through her body. She waited for a moment to adjust to him, then slowly slid up and slammed back down, moaning at the delicious ache he gave her. She picked up the pace, leaning closer to him to get the perfect angle that knocked her breath away every time they joined.
She couldn’t take her eyes off of Kieran’s face as they moved together, his eyes heavy, so overwhelmed with what was in front of him. His hands moved reverently over her body, brushing her thighs, running along her still-clothed breasts, finding a place in her hair. At some point he’d joined her in her rhythm, thrusting his hips in time with her own.
She bounced on him particularly roughly and he let out an intoxicating moan, throwing his head back on the couch, his fingers tightening in her hair.
“Are you close?” Lauren managed to get out.
“Fuck, yes.” he said, eyes still closed, dark brows screwed together in concentration.
She loved watching him lose control.
Lauren bent closer, moving her hips tauntingly around him.
“Don’t come until I say.” she breathed, leaning even closer to suck on a spot right behind his ear.
He sucked in a choked breath, his Adam’s apple bobbing nervously. She laughed softly, raising up and sinking down on him again, agonizingly slowly. It took all of her own-self control, but she wanted to make this last.
“I said I was in charge, right?” she said. “You didn’t think that you would get away with that ‘wear me down’ remark, did you?”
Kieran’s breaths came shallowly as she rode him harder, feeling herself nearing her peak. She held the impending wave back for a moment longer and grabbed Kieran’s jaw with her hand, making her look into her eyes. She wagered that she looked like some avenging warrior right now, her golden eyes flaming as she loomed over him.
His pupils were so blown it almost blocked the brilliant cerulean of his eyes. She could feel how hard he was inside her, how his cock twitched with every move she made, the strangled sounds he tried to hold in every time she fell onto him once again.
“I brought you here to teach you a lesson, darling.” she said. “Not so you could fool around with me at some party.”
Kieran’s eyes were wide, his face flushed adorably red. She could make a joke about it, but he was too cute right now to be mean to anymore. She just ran her hand down his neck and back to his sternum as she focused on riding him again, feeling the pressure rise in her, feeling sparks fly through her legs every time he thrust into her.
“Don’t—” she choked out as the pleasure became overwhelming.
“I know.” he groaned when she couldn’t finish her sentence. “I won’t—fuck—I won’t come.”
“God—” Lauren gasped, feeling herself fall apart on top of him. She shook, feeling all the tension dissolve in stuttering waves, pushing her hands against Kieran’s chest to hold her up as she recovered.
“Shit, that was so good.” she said once she could open her eyes and look at the man under her. His face was alight with concentration, with lust and craving for her. He moved slightly and she gasped, still so sensitive.
“Lauren, would you please—” Kieran started, but she put one finger over his mouth, stopping him in his tracks.
“Make me come again and you can come with me.” she said, already moving her hips against him, feeling the heat between her legs return and begin to build.
Kieran huffed, leaning his head back on the back of the couch again.
“Can you do that for me, baby?”
“Fuck—I—holy shit.”
“I’m going to take that as a yes.” Lauren said, riding him faster, feeling his thighs under her tense every time she bounced. She pushed her hair out of her face and dimly wondered how they were going to explain their appearance to the other dinner guests.
Then Kieran met her hips with his own, filling her to the brim, and the thought evaporated. They were both a mess as they got closer and closer. Kieran’s entire body was drawn taut under her hands, his moans falling unfiltered from his mouth.
“God, I love you, Lauren,” he gasped as he gripped her thighs, driving her into him even harder. She arched her back, feeling electricity travel through her body, feeling herself near the edge.
“I love you, too.” she panted, leaning close to him to kiss him passionately. She broke away with a moan after a moment.
“You’re doing so good, love.” she said. “You’re amazing—shit—getting me so close—”
At her words, she could of sworn she heard a whine rip out of his throat, his eyes screwed shut in labored concentration, entire body rigid under her.
“Please…” he groaned. “God, Lauren…”
Lauren cursed and curled her hands around his shoulders, her rhythm faltering as she started to lose control. Kieran gathered enough willpower to take one hand off her leg and place his thumb where the two of them met, circling around her clit and making her choke back a shout.
“Kieran…” she gasped. “Oh, god, I’m going to come, I’m so close…”
“Yes, baby, come for me.” Kieran said, out of breath. “Come with me.”
And with one last thrust and the motion of Kieran’s finger against her, Lauren felt something burst inside, making her shake with exertion and slap her hand over her mouth to cover her loud curse. Kieran jerked under her, his face wracked with emotion, letting out a strained groan as he thrusted once, twice, inside her and then relaxed, his chest heaving from the exertion.
Lauren got off him after a moment and sat down heavily on the couch next to his still-recovering form.
“How are you, love?” she asked him, leaning her head on his chest. She felt him laugh hoarsely, saw his limp arm raise up and run a hand through his disheveled hair.
“That was…incredible.” he said, and Lauren let out a sigh of relief. Now that they sat, basking in the afterglow, she didn’t know what had come over her. All she knew is that she had never felt more turned on than when she moved on top of Kieran, his entire being wholly ruined by her.
“I think I should frustrate you more often if this is what happens.” Kieran mused, and Lauren hit him lightly, rolling her eyes.
“Maybe next time I just won’t have sex with you, have you thought of that?” Lauren asked, and Kieran gaped at her, seemingly appalled at her response.
She giggled and tucked her head into the juncture between his neck and shoulder, breathing in his cologne, his sweat from all they just did together.
“I love you so much.” she murmured against his skin. He hummed contentedly.
“I love you, too, darling.” he said. “By the way, we’re not going back into that dining room, are we?”
“I would rather die than see my uncles’ expressions if I went back to the room like this.” Lauren laughed. “Let’s get out of here.”
Kieran smiled softly, looking down at her with warmth.
“Let’s go home, darling.”
