Work Text:

On days like this, Rain knew the universe was out to get him. How else would you explain the recent events such as being challenged at the races and his whole secret racer past being revealed? Even the fact that Jihyo noona had anticipated his nerves basically frying his pain receptors and had his previous medication with her? Fate was really trying to get Rain back on his motorcycle but he wasn't budging. Even now, as P'Phayu had invited Jihyo noona to dinner so they could all hear stories of Rain's past. God, his face wasn't going to recover from how red it was as Jihyo connected her phone to Phayu's tv while grinning at Sky and P'Pai.

“You would not believe this race. This little shit pissed off Noeul so bad that he actually managed to do a donut around the idiot before zooming to the finish line. It was ridiculous, especially when Noeul had been running on like three hours of sleep because of Dasom unnie. We won soooo much money that there was almost a riot.”

At the mention of Dasom's name, Rain snorted, shaking his head as Jihyo pointed at him. “Don't you dare laugh! It was your fault to begin with.” She turned to Phayu, wiggling her eyebrows. “This asshole thought it would be a good idea for Dasom unnie to throw a party to celebrate passing the bar exam. Except he suggested that we splurge on a quality DJ and the party lasted for hours because the music was so good. We almost didn't make it to the races because he was throwing down the shots like it was water.”

Rain pouted, rolling his eyes at Jihyo. He didn't notice everyone confused since everyone knew that Rain couldn't handle his liquor well. “But what she's leaving out of the story is that the party didn't just last for hours, it lasted for two days because Jihyo had accidentally paid the bartender too much.”

“Rain you can't drink without getting too touchy and loud.” Sky furrowed his brows. “Did you race drunk?”

“My body's changed so much since then. If I drink like I drank back then, then I'll be puking into the toilet, especially if I drink beer. If I stick to straight spirits, then it's easier on me. I didn't race drunk, I was buzzed for sure, but not drunk. And it wasn't because of me that we almost didn't make it to the races, Jihyo noona decided it was a good idea to try and seduce Dahyun noona. You lost your top faster than I could even blink. You're just lucky that Dahyun noona covered you with her jacket.”

"Oh yeah. I still have that jacket too." Jihyo scrolled through her videos to find clips of the party. “That was a great party though. I have videos of Noeul absolutely tearing it on the dance floor. Everyone wanted to dance with him but he chased them away. He looked like a fallen angel and people were literally crying at the bar when he turned them down.”

Rain made a face at Jihyo, feeling Phayu's arm tighten around his waist. Fuck, he knew he was going to get punished, even though these memories were so many years ago. He leaned his head against Phayu's shoulder, sighing at Phayu brushing a kiss against his head. Jihyo made a satisfied noise when she found the video she was looking for, grinning salaciously as a blonde Rain winked at the camera, downing a shot before rolling his body towards Jihyo's phone. And Rain looked gorgeous in that mesh long sleeve and black jean shorts, just short enough that you could tell that he wasn't wearing any underwear. It was an outfit that would get him in trouble now if Phayu saw it on him. And eyeing the dark look on his lover, he could see the strikes accumulating against him.

Damn. He could almost feel the spanks against his ass.

Sky whistled, glancing at Rain with one eyebrow raised. "You've never dressed like that when we went clubbing before meeting these two."

Rain shrugged his shoulder, pecking Phayu on his cheek in hopes he would relax. "I was in a different mindset then. Back then I only went out to have fun with my friends and celebrate winning a race. I wasn't interested in dancing with strangers. I mean I still have those clothes shoved in the back of my closet but you don't like going to the club that often, so I didn't really see the need for them."

Sky held back his laughter at Phayu's blank face, knowing he was torn at seeing Rain having dressed like that in public but also at the thought he could have Rain dress like that for him now. He felt a hand caress his back and he glanced back at Prapai, knowing the older man was probably thinking of getting Sky into a skimpy outfit like that. He forced his elbow into P'Pai's stomach firmly, a frown on his face.

"Don't you even think about it."

Prapai whined, rubbing his stomach as Sky turned back to Rain. "But Sky-"

"No buts. But P'Jihyo, did the party really last two days?"

Jihyo winked. "You bet. People still talk about it to this day, whether it's about the music, drinks, or Noeul. That reminds me, Dasom unnie actually texted me the other day and asked if you were free to talk. She's turning thirty and wants you to come. She even said that she was getting Hyoyeon to bartend."

Rain pouted. Hyoyeon was one of the best bartenders around Korea and one of his best friends, always pouring Rain a free drink when he won a race and anytime he was sad. She had moved to New York to pursue her degree in dancing but they still kept in contact. But did he feel like going to Korea when he had so much going on?

"I don't know Noona. I'm pretty busy. When's the party?"

"Two weeks. She's booked a private yacht and it'll be off the coast of Jeju. It's going to be another two day party for Saturday and Sunday. The dress code is poolside sexy."

And there was the next problem. Anytime his friends asked Rain to dress sexy, what they really meant was 'if you single, get ready to fuck someone hot'. But with Rain now with the love of his life, that was no longer possible. And he knew that if he brought Phayu with him, everyone would be hitting on him. Even Sky and P'Pai. Everyone Rain knew was some degree of good looking to the point it caused troubles. But if Rain didn't go, then he knew Dasom noona would be coming for him.

It was a lose-lose situation, with no way out of it besides Rain going by himself and that was not even an option. Rain rubbed his temples, massaging his cheeks as he groaned.

"Tell her I'll think about it. I have a hubby to think about."

Phayu kept quiet but Rain could tell that he wasn't happy, his jaw clenched. Jihyo hummed, stretching her arms as she understood what was making Rain so hesitant in accepting Dasom's invitation. She knew that if she had been dating Dahyun, she wouldn't want anyone flirting with her either. Then an idea came to mind, something their little group had done at several parties.

"Would you go if Dasom unnie implemented the bracelet code?"

"Bracelet code? Rain?" Phayu turned to a pensive Rain. "Baby if you want to go, I'm not stopping you. Although I don't like the dress code."

Neither did Rain but the bracelet code would definitely change things. Back when Seokjin hyung had been dating Jungkook hyung, they had invented the bracelet system so nobody would try to hit on them as the system would let everyone know they were dating. Of course that didn't stop the bold and stupid but people wouldn't make themselves look like a fool on purpose in front of a crowd.

"The bracelet system is a code we decided on years ago. People would wear one of four types of bracelets: blue for single, red for taken, pink for I'm interested, and green for not interested. I wore green all the time. If Dasom noona wants me to come, then she needs to buy a bunch of bracelets."

"I'll let her know. I found that race by the way, look."

While Sky and Prapai were oohing and ahhing at the way Rain just dominated the race, Phayu tilted Rain's chin to whisper in his ear.

"Do you want to go to that birthday party Baby?"

Rain blew a sigh, shaking his head. "Not really. I can't see a scenario where it won't end bad and I don't want to go alone and leave you here worried about me. If I tried to take Sky, then P'Pai will definitely come and then I'll be left alone. But if I don't go, then I know it won't be quiet around here for weeks. Dasom noona is petty like that. I don't think I can party like I used to either."

Phayu narrowed his eyes, his fingers tapping against Rain's side. "How about we go just for a couple of hours? I know Prapai would help us leave in a heartbeat if something does go wrong and we can enjoy Jeju since it's close by."

Rain's eyes brightened up. A vacation in Jeju with his P'Phayu would be amazing, even more since Rain could show off his korean and impress Phayu. Maybe they could take a small flight to Seoul and Rain could show him his old stomping grounds, to his beginnings. They could even visit his grandma and see how she was doing. He brushed a kiss against Phayu's lips, wrapping his arms around Phayu's neck.

"I like the sound of that. Us on the beach in Jeju, enjoying the sunset."

Phayu rose an eyebrow, giving Rain that cheeky smirk that never failed to make his heart race. He rubbed their noses together, their eyes not looking away from each other as Phayu murmured in such a loving tone.

"Let's go have a short honeymoon my cute boy. We can always plan a longer one later."

And there went his heart, completely melted on the floor. Rain's eyes fluttered shut as he leaned up for another kiss, flinching when he felt a finger poking into his back. He jumped around to see Sky frowning at him.

"I'm not here to see you guys kiss, so cut that out. How about you explain to me how you were able to donut while still winning a race instead?"

Phayu chuckled, pulling back slightly so Rain could turn back to see the screen. Pouting, he pointed to a section of the road that lead to a clearing. "This guy sucked at racing, like at one point he got his jacket somehow stuck in the bike and to make fun of him, I did that donut around him before speeding off. That poor bike, it was pretty much smoking afterwards."

Prapai snorted, sipping his coke. "I've seen similar but I've never thought about doing tricks around them while they're struggling. That's a mean move."

"It was actually a request, isn't that right?"

Jihyo cackled. "Back then we took requests for Noeul to do during races. Most of the time it was stuff like shoot the camera drones a heart or race shirtless. But someone paid big money to have him make fun of the other racer because I think he hated the fact the guy slept with his girl, something like that."

"You didn't know? Rumor was that he slept with the guy's brother and broke his heart."

Jihyo shook her head, browsing through her phone. "Well his brother was super hot so like I get it but still, don't sleep with someone when you don't plan for anything to come out of it. Especially when they have money"

Rain turned to Sky who turned to Prapai who whistled, ignoring them as he pointed to a video of Rain standing on top of a motorcycle. "What's the story behind that?"

Rain moaned, letting his head drop into his hands as Jihyo immediately bursted into laughter. She pointed to Rain before thumping her chest to get some air into her lungs as she choked.

"This idiot saw a video of people dancing on dangerous objects and decided that he was gonna dance on a bike. He got the video done before he fell off, breaking his arm. The doctor told him to be careful but he had a race that night so there he was, racing with a broken arm. And let me tell you-"

"You made bank, right?" Sky finished her sentence. Jihyo snapped her fingers.

"You got it. The mood had been super down that night because they thought he was going to lose and the challenger was a good racer too. My Noeul won by a landslide, so much so that our boss man, the one who ran the races like Pakin oppa, bought Noeul another motorcycle."

"So he has two bikes? Why did you only talk about one last time?" Phayu tilted his head, confused. "Did it get wrecked?"

"No, I gave it away." Rain piped up. "I had a friend who wanted to learn how to race so I gave him the bike. Is Ricky still racing?"

"He's our number one since you left. I'm sure he would be excited to see you if you went to the party."

"I said I'd think about it. But I'm glad he's doing well."

Rain bit his lip, a wave of nostalgia hitting him as he thought back to all the races where Ricky had been following him like a cute puppy, not unlike how he had been with Phayu. But unlike Rain who was actively trying to make Phayu fall in love with him back then, Ricky had been enamored with Rain's bike, wanting to feel the wind in his hair and ride the freedom he saw on Rain's face. Prapai and Phayu knew what it felt, to have that independence in arm's reach, to know that they could get on a bike and leave dust in the wind. All racers seemed to have the same thoughts after all. Phayu felt Rain's body tense up and snuggled him, his warm embrace tugging Rain out of his thoughts.

Jihyo smiled at this sight before pulling up a certain cross dressing video. This would be Jihyo's revenge for Noeul not telling her the moment he had a man. She turned to Sky and Prapai, that evil gleam in her eye before she loudly proclaimed to the room,

“Who wants to see how pretty Noeul is in a wig?”

The way Rain threw himself out of Phayu's arms and towards Jihyo, their feet skidding on the floor as he chased her around the kitchen in hopes he could snatch her phone, was priceless. She could already see Phayu's tongue licking the bottom of his lip and she knew her baby boy wouldn't get a wink of sleep tonight.
