The moment Lucerys received his Hogwarts letter, he was jumping with happiness. Rhaenyra and Daemon watched their son jump from excitement. Lucerys quickly went upstairs and woke his brother, Jacaerys.
Jace got his letters 2 years ago, and he was sorted in Ravenclaw. Rhaenyra could not be any more proud, as Ravenclaw was the house of his father, Laenor Velaryon. Daemon and Rhaenyra were sorted in Slytherin, but to be honest, wherever their sons will be sorted, they will be all equally proud.
Rhaena, who was happy to see Lucerys receive her letter quickly whispered a bet to her other sister, Baela.
“I think he will be sorted in Gryffindor like me Rhaena” Baela said. Rhaena shook his head, mocking Baela’s prediction
“Nope” Rhaena replied, emphasizing the P in her word. “He will be sorted in Ravenclaw, like Jacaerys and me”
The two girls were fighting, and Daemon finally noticed her girls. He walks to them and put his hands on their shoulder.
“Or he would be sorted in the noble house of Slytherin, like his very handsome father” Daemon said to his girls.
Baela and Rhaena quickly made an eww face, and Joffrey made a puking mouth.
“Oh you are my very handsome Slytherin,” Rhaenyra said and kissed her husband.
“I am the snake that took the little rabbit” Daemon said, and mockingly take a bite of Rhaenyra.
Baela and Rhaena laughed at his father and their mother, Joffrey covered Aegon and Viserys eyes.
“Really father? In front of my two baby brothers?!” Joffrey would yell, and shake his head in disbelief.
They all eat breakfast together. Jacaerys, who was woken up against his wishes, sat on the chair heavily. Lucerys cannot contain his happiness, as he was still talking and asking what Hogwarts is like.
Rhaena and Baela were happy to share their experience until Jacaerys said something.
“It's cool unless you went to the door with the three-headed dog,” Jacaerys said.
“Three-headed dogs?! Oh, mother mother please I want to see those please let's keep a three-headed dog!” Lucerys would beg his mother Rhaenyra, who looked at her son with amusement.
“Ask your father dear’ Rhaenyra, passing the responsibilities to Daemon, and Daemon just froze where he is sitting. Rhaenyra cannot say no to Lucerys, bt Daemon cannot too!
“Oh dear well let’s check the logistics of that. Daemon answers safely.
“Okay... I want three-headed dogs for Christmas ok?” And now Daemon and Rhaenyra are sweating bullets.
Hoping to remove the vision of a three-headed dog for Christmas, Daemon insists on taking Lucerys to Diagon Alley as soon as possible. So the morning after Lucerys received his letter, Rhaenyra, and her whole family took a trip to Diagon Alley.
Lucerys always dreamed of coming here, and buying his own school materials. He always tag along, every summer with his brother, Jacaerys who would buy his wand, broom, books, and even potion material.
While they were walking, Daemon was tempted to buy Lucerys a broom. He was looking at the new model, which is currently the latest model of Nimbus.
“ Daemon no first year are allowed with broomstick” Rhaenyra warned her husband.
“A one recent model broomstick or a three-headed dog for Christmas?”
Rhaenyra quickly rolled her eyes at his husband.
“My love, I just want the best for my little Lucerys” Daemon defended himself.
“It is not allowed Daemon”
“They would never notice, I swear. Thousands of Targaryen went to Hogwarts, maybe they can let this one slide out? Perhaps I can cover it with concealing charms- oh no I can use Viserys’s old friends you know he still has connections with Hogwarts - oh yes! Is Dumbledore still alive? He is elbow-to-elbow with that professor yes? Is he still alive? Maybe - “ Rhaenyra shook her head, deep inside of her she knew her husband is uncontrollable, nothing she will say will be able to persuade her Daemon not to buy Lucerys a broomstick.
Diagon Alley was not that busy, as there are a few more months before the Hogwarts classes start.
While they were strolling the Alley, they saw a familiar sight, A green cloaked, and a red-headed woman, with 3 boys and 1 girl on her side.
“Rhaenyra!” Helaena shouted, making Rhaenyra look for the voice that called her.
Helaena was her half-sister, and despite not having the same mother, he love Helaena very dearly. Rhaenyra could still remember the happiness of her sister when she wrote her a letter the day after she was sorted in her house, Hufflepuff. It shook the whole school, as no Targaryen ever placed in Hufflepuff.
Rhaenyra and of course, Viserys did not care. They celebrated her assortment. As soon as Rhaenyra received her letter, she quickly send a basket of gifts, sweets, and even Hufflepuff theme cakes to welcome her into her house.
Rhaenyra and Helaena hugged as soon as they saw each other.
“Oh my, you’ve grown so much since the last time I saw you, my dear!” Rhaenyra said, combing Helaena’s hair with her hands.
“Oh Rhaenyra, we just saw each other last week” Helaena’s smile always warmed Rhaenyra, she was like the daughter he never had.
“Rhaenyra, how are you?” Alicent asked, and quickly greeted her. Alicent hugged her step-daughter, same with his husband, Daemon.
“Viserys could not come, he was invited to the Ministry today,” Alicent said.
Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron smiled at their sister.
“Hey, Jacaerys” Aegon greeted his nephew, Jace.
Jace and Aegon have... Odd relationship per se. Aegon always love chasing his nephew out, doing anything that would gain his attention. But Jacaerys… being Jacaerys would prefer to sit with his friends and do an advanced study for an exam that is months away.
One of these days, Jacaerys secretly loves being chased by Aegon. Sometimes, Aegon would lay on Jacaerys’s lap, while he correct his potion essay or cham homework.
Aegon can be lazy as a student, but he was not clearly stupid. He was just purposely making mistakes on his homework so that Jacaerys would accompany him and check his homework.
“Hey, uncle Aegon” Aegon brought an enchanted rose from her bags, the one that would not die so easily. It was charmed, to be the same color as Jace’s favorite.
Jacaerys quickly blushes at Aegon’s gestures. Rhaena and Baela ‘accidentally’ pushed Jace closer to Aegon, or so they say.
“Father, can we bring Jace with us? Aegon said they have some nice bookstores here.” Rhaena asked and Baela smiled at his father widely.
Daemon could not resist his girls, so he gave them a nod.
“Yes!” Rhaena and Baela shouted, clapping their hands together.
While walking, Rhaena and Baela were leading the way and Daemon pretended that he did not see Aegon wrapping his hands around his eldest waist. He looked at Rhaenyra, hoping his wife saw the same thing. Too bad, she was talking with Alicent.
As for Aemond, being in Hogwarts somehow makes him miss Lucerys more. Lucerys barely writes a letter to him since the last way, but now that Lucerys has finally been accepted at Hogwarts, he was hoping he would spend more of his time with Lucerys
“Mother, sister May I borrow Lucerys?” Aemond boldly asked his sister. Rhaenyra and Alicent shared a glance, and both tried to shush Daemon from speaking.
“Of course my brother”
“It would be a good idea... Aemond did you know that Lucerys just got his letter?” Alicent said.
“I know mother,” Aemond said, and hold Lucerys by his shoulders.
Rhaenyra looked at Alicent, curious as to why and how Aemond find out. They just told them.
“Uncle! Look at my-”
“Why did you not write me back? I’ve been in Hogwarts a whole year and I did not receive a single letter from you. I’ve written almost every day, and I did not even get a reply. Care to explain? Is your owl broken? I can buy you a new one if you like. Would you like me to buy a chanted pen and parchment too? So you know you don’t have to write using your hands, you speaking would automatically write it down for you. Do you forget to write? You can send me a howle-”
“Aemond…” Lucerys softly said, making Aemond stop talking.
“Aemond, I am very sorry for not even writing at you. I”
“I what? Have you forgotten about me? Have you met someone while I was gone? Who is he? Is he from a pureblood family like us? Is he smart?”
“Aemond, I- I do not want to ruin your experience in Hogwarts…”
“Ruin my experience?! Lucerys I was dead worried about you. I almost wrote a long letter to Father to check you out!”
Instead of being afraid of his uncle panicking, Lucerys find a way to laugh.
“Aemond, I want you to focus on your education first. Mother said I wrote too many letters, I might disturb you and your studies. But do not worry! I brought them all here!” Lucerys said, and he took a ton and ton of envelopes, all addresses to Aemond. “Mother said, it would be better to give you this during your vacation. I might cause a distraction if I wrote you every day” Lucerys added.
Aemond almost cry at the sight of his nephew carrying a stack of envelopes in his hands, and there are many more from his charmed bag.
“C-can I have those please?” Aemond asked.
Lucerys nodded cheerfully, and he quickly gave Aemond the charmed bag. It was quite heavy, and Aemond was excited to go home to read those letters.
“Lucerys, can you promise me something?” Aemond asked.
“Of course uncle! Anything you like!”
“Will you talk to me? In Hogwarts? I know I am sorted in Slytherin, but there is a chance that you will be sorted with the lions. Promise me you will talk to me every day? You will let me walk to your classes? You would hang out with me every lunch?” Aemond almost sounds desperate, close to begging on his knees.
But of course, Lucerys just giggled.
“Of course uncle, of course, I would love to spend the rest of my Hogwarts with you”
Aemond almost melts at the stop with what Lucerys said. He prayed, that even when they got older, Lucerys would remember this .

Aemond and Lucerys toured Diagon Alley together. Aemond would buy everything Lucerys wants. He even bought Lucerys a charmed necklace, that shows Aemond and Lucerys' pictures. Lucerys wore it beautifully. It was shaped like a heart and it was covered in gold and glitter. In return, Lucerys bought his uncle a charmed bracelet. But unlike the locket Aemond gave, Lucerys gave his uncle a bracelet with a carving of his name.
“ Lucerys Velaryon” the bracelet said. When Lucerys was too busy looking for more jewelry to be gifted to his family, Aemond asked the carver to put another name.
“ Lucerys Velaryon, my sun, and moon” the bracelet said.
Aemond cannot hide his smile.
On their next stop, Aemond and Lucerys went to an ice cream parlor.
Aemond almost bought the whole shop, because Lucerys cannot decide which flavor he wants to try. If not for Lucerys stopping him, they agreed on buying 6 different flavors, 1 scoop each.
Lucerys almost finished the ice cream, and Aemond shared too but he quickly felt guilty because Aemond did not even eat.
“Would you like some?” Lucerys said.
Aemond laughs, cause Lucerys still have some traces of Ice cream in his side lips.
“No, seeing you eat is enough” Aemond cannot say that he hates ice cream. That was Lucerys’s favorite thing, and he does not want to ruin it.
“Please? I would feel better if you get at least try a spoonful of chocolate.” Aemond hesitates, he really likes cold food.
“Uncle Aemond, please? For me?” Lucerys using his doe eyes at Aemond… Aemond took the spoon Lucerys was using, and use it to scoop ice cream.
Chocolate… tastes tolerable. It was still cold and he hates it but the taste, the sweetness it left on his mouth is divine. Maybe he should try eating ice cream.
“It tastes good. Now eat! I would like to buy more sweets for you” Aemond said
Aemond watched Lucerys as he finish the bowl of Ice cream. As soon as they were finished, Aemond took Lucerys to more sweets.
It was getting darker, and Aemond knew Rhaenyra would not appreciated for borrowing Lucerys for too long.
As soon as they were done, Aemond saw his sister waiting for them.
“Mother look! Aemond buy me so many gifts!” LUcerys showed boxes of gifts from Aemond.
Aemond got shy about it, so he looked down at his sweet.
“How sweet of you Aemond, thank you so much” Rhaenyra said, and gave his brother a kiss on his head.
To their surprise, Lucerys pulled out a 2 heart shape box, and Helaena and Alicent’s names were written on it.
“For you, grandmama” Lucerys handed the gift, and next to her, Lucerys handed his aunt a gift too.
Helaena quickly opened it, and it was a dragonfly hair clip.
“Oh Lucerys, this is so beautiful.” Helaena shows off the hair clip to his mother and his sister, and Rhaenyra and Alicent quickly help her to place it on her long blonde hair.
“Thank you Lucerys” Helaena said, kissing her nephew in his head.
Soon, Jacaerys, Rhaena, and Baela arrived too. Together with Aegon.
Daemon saw his nephew, Aegon with a bruise on his lips.
“Oh sweet who did this to you?!” Alicent angrily asked. Rhaena and Baela quickly avoid Alicent’s gaze, while Jacaerys hide behind his mother and father’s back, hiding the tears.
“I am okay mother. Do not fret. It was well taken care of” Aegon replied, and winced from pain when Alicent tried to wipe off the blood on his lips.
“No this is not okay! Who did this?!” Alicent asked once again.
“Just some ugly pure blood. They were taunting Jacaerys about the incestuous practice of our family. Why do they believe they are higher than us? They are from the oldest pureblood family and they practice incest too. The only difference is that we are not ashamed of what we are!”
Rhaenyra and Daemon quickly comforted their son and daughters who looked very terrified. Except for Baela, who was still ready to fight.
“Aegon I- Thank you. For defending them” Rhaenyra said and hugged his brother.
“Don’t worry dear sister, I broke one of their arms” Aegon proudly said.
“And one of their wands too father. So please, be prepared when you receive a random howler” Baela said without showing any guilt or remorse for what she did. She and Aegon high-five each other, acknowledging each other’s violence.
“Jacaerys, are you okay?” Jace, who was still shaken up just nod and let Daemon hug him.
“I’ll see you in Hogwarts Jace. Do not worry, I would never leave your side” Aegon said, and very awkwardly kissed Jace’s knuckles.
Alicent and Rhaenyra shared their goodbyes, and cannot wait to meet a gain on the train. Although they live near Hogwarts, Alicent, and Rhaenyra would not let their children miss their first Hogwarts train.
Aegon turned his back until Jace hugged him from behind.
“Thank you uncle Aegon” Jace said and kissed Aegon on the cheeks.
Jacaerys quickly ran to his family, and Aegon was frozen on the street, cannot comprehend that his nephew just kissed him. If not for Alicent pulling his son to reality, he would be standing there for days.
Alicent tried to hide the smile that was forming in her face, he was just glad that his boys have someone on their life. Not romantically, but at least it would be something pure and genuine…
As soon as they got home, Aemond ran to his bedroom upstairs.
He opened the stack of envelopes that Lucerys gave and save it for him.
He first, of course, arranged it by dates.
The first letter was also his first day at Hogwarts.
My uncle,
Good luck on your first day. Father said you have to use a boat to enter Hogwarts! A boat uncle a boat! Did you know I can row a boat as soon as I learned how to swim? Oh, grandpapa Corlys taught me how! If I was only the same year as you are, I will row the paddle for you uncle Aemond. I would make sure you just sit on the tiny boat with me and enjoy the ocean.

Aemond kissed the letter, too bad he did not read this one on his first day. But he was more than happy that he is reading this one now.
The second letter was about Lucerys’s day. Talking about how bored he is now only he, Joffrey, Viserys, and Aegon is in the house.
In one of his letters to his uncle, Lucerys stated that Daemon caught him sneaking out of the house carrying a bag. He said he wants to leave the house and live with Aemond in Hogwarts. He can’t wait, he wants to receive his letter now.
Aemond laughed at his nephew’s impatient, he was glad he received his letter now.
Dear uncle Aemond,
I, Grandpapa Corlys, and Grandfather Viserys all hang out today! Grandpapa caught a big fish in the lake, while Grandfather Lucerys cannot catch a fish at all! I was laughing the whole time. Grandpapa almost fill the bucket with fish while Grandfather Viserys did not caught anything at all.
I also borrowed Grandpapa’s fishing equipment. I caught a fish today! I miss you too much I name the fish in honor of you!
Uncle Aemond, I would like you to meet our son, Aemonie
Attached to his letter was an enchanted photograph of Lucerys holding a trout fish. It was an average size, and Aemond felt very proud.
He flipped the photo, to see that there is a message to it from Lucerys.
Uncle Aemond,
Aemonie is very delicious. I was sad that I had to grill it but grandpapa said it was not pet fish and it was safe to consume.
Aemonie is very delicious. I hope you can taste him. He is very yummy

Aemond burst out laughing! Lucerys just ate their first son together, and he did not even got a taste of it.
He quickly fire called his sister’s house. It was not late, it was only 7 pm. Perhaps, they are still awake.
“Aemond? Are you okay? We just finished eating dinner. Is father alright?” Rhaenyra asked.
“No sister, Father is very well. Would it be okay if I speak with my Lucerys? I promised sister, we will not be long. I would be off at exactly Luke’s bedtime, if only we could talk just for a minute or tw-”
Rhaenyra laughs at his brother.
“Of course of course! Let me pick my sweet pea for you.” Aemond saw Rhaenyra stand up, and went somewhere.
Minutes later, someone returned.
“Uncle Aemond!” Lucerys greeted him happily.
“I miss you” Aemond said, as he sat on the sofa, in front of his fireplace.
“But we just saw each other earlier!” Lucerys giggled at his uncle.
“How are you? I am just reading your letter… and why did you eat Aemonie?!” Lucerys laugh loudly. Aemond is annoyed that he was not there to see Luke’s laughter as his eyes smiling.
“Oh uncle, I am sorry but Aemonie is a very delicious fish! If grandpapa is not busy, I will ask him to catch more Aemonie for us!” Lucerys said.
They talked in front of the fireplace for us. Aemond would reply to Lucerys’s every letter, and one of his favorites is the one dated his 20th day at hogwarts.
Dear Uncle Aemond,
I am annoyed. I fell on the broom. Daemon Father said it was okay, I would learn soon. But it was too hard to control! He said it was just like riding a dragon back in Romania but it was not! Dragons are very passionate and loving creatures. They will not let you fall on their back! But the broom! The broom let me fall on its back uncle! I want you to beat the broom as soon as you come back.
I cried so much, father and mother have to take me to Romania using a portkey to soothe my ache. I saw arrax and Vhagar too! They are very well taken care of in the sanctuary. Vhagar laid an egg, I want to name it Aemonie too but I am afraid that I might accidentally eat the egg. Oh no Vhagar would be surely mad. She and arrax are playing very well.
Ps: I would love to ride the dragon with you and kidnap you from hogwarts! That is a joke uncle. Mother said I should not take people against their will that is bad bad and no no
Pss; Grandfather Viserys cannot catch a fish, but he is excellent at Tarot reading. I asked him when I will meet my soul mate, my moon and stars and he said I already met them! I am beginning to think that Aemonie is my soul mate. I hope what I think was not true.

“Lucerys, you cannot marry a fish” Aemond advances
“But Uncle! Grandfather said I already met them. Oh, I am still worried what if I am to be married to Aemonie and I ate him? Oh no no no no” Lucerys, panicking covering his ears.
“Lucerys, I am your soulmate trust me, you cannot marry a fish.”
“But I am a Velaryon and we are the sea!”
“And I am a dragon, do you see me mating with a dragon?”
“oh, you have a point.”
“I always do”
“You are always right uncle”
“ I usually am”
There was a silence between them, and Aemond hates it.
“So how delicious Aemonie is?”
Lucerys smiled once again, remembering the tasty fish he ate last year.
“Oh don’t even start with me”
Aemond let Lucerys tell a tale of how good the fish is. He let him talk and talk, and Aemond was just happy he was listening to his nephew’s voice.
