Chapter Text
“It’s going to be a better semester, I promise, I swear it,” Lumine held both of her brother’s hands tightly in her own, ready to head out for her first class of the new year. He didn’t seem as enthused. His eye bags were especially prominent this morning.
Starting the semester on the tail end of a bad heat was not a great way to start, but at least he didn’t have any 8 AMs this time around. Aether was exhausted and crabby, and his overly peppy sister was not helping his visceral need to be dramatic.
“You said that last semester too,” he grumbled. They had been rooming together in one of the on-campus dorms for the past 3 years, very much in their own routine now when it came to taking care of one another.
“A year and a half, that’s all we have left, then we can get that stupid diploma and never set foot in a classroom again,” Lumine smiled big, slinging her backpack over her shoulder. They balanced each other out, some mornings he’d be high energy and optimistic, but for now, she had to be the half glass full for her moody brother’s sake.
A couple of twin Omegas against the world, that’s what it felt like sometimes to Lumine. Life was hard enough, adding their constitution to the mix just made it more of a hassle. At least the university gave them a break.
It’s going to be a good year.
The first class of the day was a ‘blow-off section’ with way too much busy work that everyone had to take. She had saved it for this semester on purpose, opting to take an easier but tedious class in hopes of making the supposed hardest year of her college experience more tolerable.
She sat near the back, not wanting her inevitable spacing out to get noticed. Usually, she sat front and center, but this wasn’t a professor she needed to make a good impression on. Hundreds of more students began to fill in, chattering and getting settled.
It was a massive lecture hall, row after row of cramped desks and tiny attached tables that her laptop could barely fit on. It was a bit of a nightmare stench-wise, all those bodies in one room made for irritable Alphas and Omegas alike. Betas outnumbered them big time, so it wasn’t like the university would care too much. If everyone had to take the class, it had to fit a lot of people regardless.
Lumine shook off the negative thoughts, determined to stay positive.
Maybe I could wear a mask, or put something strong smelling under my nose, or-
Her rambling thoughts were cut off when a heavenly scent graced her. She hasn’t even noticed the guy sitting down to her left.
Is that a cologne or? There’s no way that’s natural.
Lumine immediately shot her head down, not wanting to stare but also flushed by how good this random Alpha smelled. It wasn’t often she was in this close proximity to Alphas, she was honestly a bit nervous around them. She forced herself to be sociable but still a bit introverted by nature. Aether was better at handling himself in these situations.
She got out her old laptop that booted up slowly, getting herself set up a few minutes before class began, hoping to distract herself. She had yet to steal a glance, but the bigger male seemed busy getting a notebook from his bag as well. His hoodie was donned, she couldn’t see his profile from this angle.
The professor began to speak, ceasing the talking and shuffling of items. He introduced himself, the usual, and commented on how large of a class he was currently staring at.
“Shake your neighbor's hand or something at least, let’s try not to be complete strangers. I know it’s a big class but introduce yourselves for a minute while I get this damn projector working.” A bit of a chuckle from the class while everyone began talking once again.
Lumine shook the hand of the girl to her right first, still too nervous to look in the other direction.
She finally was about to be brave and turn when he beat her to the punch, “Hey there, the name’s Childe, nice to meet you-“
Why is that voice familiar?
Lumine whipped around, and instinctively shook the outstretched hand before putting two and two together. His hand was warm, a bit calloused but fit well in her own hand. It enveloped hers, and she felt stupidly small before looking up at him.
There was a pause on both parts.
“Huh- Ajax?!” She immediately recoiled her hand in disgust, getting a few stares from the surrounding desks but the noise of everyone talking was still overpowering her exclamation.
“Lumine?!” An equally confused Ajax stared back.
Are you joking?…
The one and only, the biggest prick on the block, the bane of her existence. Ajax. The fucker that harassed her and Aether for a bit too long in middle school and early high school sat to her left as if they had never met.
And he’s an Alpha?! Figures…
She scowled at him, giving him a glare that let him know that she remembered exactly who he was.
The professor spoke up again, “Attendance, contrary to popular belief, is in fact mandatory. However since this class is so big, I’ll have your name numbered off from the desk you are currently in. I’m counting on you to stick to the honor code when I pass around this paper, only write your name in your spot,” some teaching assistants helped pass around several sign-in sheets.
Just like that, she was bound to this stupid spot next to this stupid Alpha that had the audacity to make her think he smelled stupidly good.
This would not be a better semester.
Ajax had no clue fate would be so cruel to him on the first day of the semester. He was exhausted, definitely having stayed up too late the night before.
He sat down at the back of the class, fully expecting to knock out the moment the professor began talking about the syllabus.
To his surprise, however, the girl he happened to sit next to smelled absolutely divine, whatever perfume she was soaked in was making his head spin in the best possible way. It was like a slap to the face that woke him up, he was sitting next to some cute Omega and he needed to at least say hello. She seemed busy with her things so he tried to mimic. Maybe if it seemed like he cared about this class too she would break the ice first.
Then the professor beat him to the punch line. The perfect opportunity to speak to her.
Her hand was cool to the touch but soft and easy to hold in his. It felt good, but seeing the face that turned his direction accompanying it gave him whiplash.
Gods above be merciful, please.
Lumine, that damn know-it-all, the headstrong blondie with the equally irritating twin brother Aether. She was annoying then and from the look on her face and the recoil of her hand, she was probably still going to be annoying now.
Class began and he was doing everything in his power to keep his head forward and his mind off of how close she was to him. These damn lecture desks.
She whispered in his direction, still dumbfounded that he was right there in the flesh.
“What the fuck kind of name is ‘Childe?’ Some alter ego of yours?”
“It’s a nickname dipshit,” he whispered back with a light chuckle. It was going to be a long hour if this was how it was going to be.
“Yeah a stupid nickname, I’m not calling you that.” She typed some notes on her laptop, trying to keep her hands busy. Her instincts were conflicting with her logic. It didn’t matter how physically compatible he seemed he was still an asshole by her recollection.
He got out his phone, ready to text his buddies and not pay mind to the ball of aggression next to him. She smelled better when she wasn’t pissy.
The professor got his attention with the talk of a group project. This was his chance to get away and find a group of actual sane people to keep him far from this hellion.
Lumine perked up as well, apparently having the same hope.
“It’s only extra credit, but a lot of it if you do well. Consider it a gift if you would not like to take the final. To make it easy we just go by twos. So seat 1 and seat 2 are together, and so forth. You guys are smart. Figure it out.”
Lumine looked down at her seat number.
320.
She stole a glance to her left, praying for it to say 321.
319.
No, please…
Ajax caught on quickly too once he saw the numbers.
“It’s just extra credit calm down, knowing you, you won’t need it missus perfect.” How she hadn’t graduated early was beyond him.
“What if I want it? If I don’t have to take a final by doing it then I’m doing it. Plus you’ll probably need every extra point knowing you.” How he was even in college was beyond her.
Ok, yes, maybe he was here on an athletics scholarship, but his grades were better than they were before. Not that she cared.
“Girlie, let’s just try to get along.” His hushed voice was on edge.
The look on her face was indication enough.
Class finally ended, the subliminal signal given when the first person began packing their bag.
The two stood up, and Ajax's head just kept going up. Lumine was shadowed by the tall figure. He definitely had a growth spurt from the last time she saw him.
What the hell has he been eating?
“Oh wow, still maxed out in middle school huh?” He laughed and looked down at the flustered Lumine, who was staring back up at him with a challenge in her narrowed eyes.
Brave little Omega, trying to act big all the way down there.
Staring up and Ajax was harder than she expected. No dumb guy was going to get the best of her, even if he was an Alpha. She rolled her eyes and shoved past him, trying to get out of the room ASAP and make her way to her next lecture. The brief contact shouldn’t have meant anything, but bumping into that strong frame had that Omega in her weirdly pining.
He followed easily behind with his large strides, keeping up even as she hustled out the door while trying not to bump into other students.
“Hey so if we are going to be partners, can I get your number or email or something?” Ajax sidestepped in front of her since she was obviously not about to stop walking away.
She huffed and got out her phone from her pocket without another word to his surprise. He quickly did the same.
He said out loud his number, watching her type it in with haste. Usually, he's the one being asked for his number, and when he gives it out there is usually more smiling and flirting involved. Right now he wasn't even being looked at and it was irritating.
A text came dinged to his phone. A very to-the-point, ‘Lumine.’ was sent through. She looked beyond annoyed, her scent radiating a very specific ‘get the fuck away from me,’ vibe that actually had Ajax a little nervous. For a moment he felt bad, she seemed to have been in a good mood prior to his arrival, but he also was enjoying her pissed-off pouty lip a little too much.
“Thanks! Got it, see ya, partner,” he gave a wave with a cheeky smile and headed off to where his friends were meeting up between classes.
Aether was about to get his ear talked off today whether he liked it or not.
The day was done, the sun had set, and Lumine was extra exhausted. She felt clammy and itchy, ready for a shower to clean off the nasty grime that was today.
She couldn’t get that ginger idiot off her mind. The fact she was stuck with him three times a week had her reeling. Aether had laughed, so hard in fact that he choked on his dinner and nearly died from the noodle he had inhaled. She was thrilled her brother found her suffering so funny, but it was the first time he had smiled in the past week.
“We haven’t seen that douchebag since freshman year Lumi, maybe he’s matured? We are both definitely not the same people since then,” Aether had said through both laughter and tears after coughing out his lodged food. He remembered back to the countless petty arguments he and Ajax got into when they were younger, Lumine always coming to her brother’s rescue.
“Oh trust me I have a feeling he’s the same dick from before,” she got her brother more water before he choked further to death.
He just smells and looks and feels a lot better. The universe hates me.
She would leave out that part, her brother didn’t need to know.
Ajax wanted to text her, not knowing how or why. Maybe something about homework? Nope, class just started so there was nothing to talk about.
Her scent still faintly clung to him where she had shoved past him, why the hell was that smell affecting him so much?
He was annoyed, enough to forget the food on the stove, the beginning stink of burning food bringing back to the present.
“Shit-“ he ran to turn off the heat, furthering his annoyance. Now he's hungry and irritable.
Damn her, she could’ve just been some average Beta. Blend into the background so he could forget about her. But nope, here he was standing in the kitchenette of his studio apartment not wanting to take off his hoodie despite his sweating. All because of her.
He pulled his hood up and pulled the drawstrings tight in frustration, just his eyes peeping through to look at his sad burnt food.
Screw it. I’m going to the gym.
The next day he didn’t have the class with Lumine thankfully. That was only a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nightmare.
He sat down in the dining hall with some of his teammates, chowing down on mediocre food to fuel him through his swim practice later that day. The only reason his parents insisted on buying a meal plan was so he didn’t break the bank with the sheer volume he consumed. He could cook, despite his earlier fuck up, but he ate a lot to say the least.
“It’s a buffet man you can slow down.”
“Shut it Scara, I have class soon,” he didn’t even look up, talking through his large bite of food.
The others just laughed, used to his weird antics and continuing the idle chat.
He paused, a scent hitting him that he was trying to forget. He kept his head low near his food, debating on ignoring that sickly sweet odor.
He chanced a glance over in its direction, seeing Lumine and her brother walking with a big group of friends to a booth together. His glance lasted longer than even he expected.
The others noticed his obvious staring.
“Didn’t know you had a thing for blondes Childe, always saw you as more of a brunette kind of guy,” He was elbowed in the side, bringing his focus back.
“Shut up,” he didn’t even deny it, feeling like a growl would rip out of his throat at any second, and decided it was best to go back to eating as much as he could. He felt sick to his stomach, from indigestion or from the continuing want to go talk to her, he wasn’t sure.
Lumine had noticed him almost immediately after walking into that dining hall. Between his scent and that big mop of bright hair, he was hard to miss. Had they really not run into each other at university until now? It feels like now that she was reacquainted with him that she kept seeing him everywhere.
Just her luck as always.
She kept her face forward, feeling his eyes boring into her back as she continued to walk with a tray of food. Her heart was racing, unsure though as to why. Lumine was tempted to send a pissed look his way to make him rethink his staring, but she remembered Aether scolding her about ‘being the bigger person’ or whatever. She didn't want to be the bigger person. She was an Omega, she physically couldn’t be the bigger person.
The first week of classes went by in a blur, then the second, then the third. Lumine found herself ready to run out of her morning class that Friday. Ajax, between being his usual awful self, was constantly staring. They whisper-argued for most of the lecture again, adding more fuel to Lumine’s hate fire. She was mentally apologizing to the people sitting around them, she was trying her best not to be as annoying as she thought they were being.
Ajax had been looking for any excuse to talk to her, and it usually ended up devolving into bickering. He hated it, hated her for being unbearable, her hackles always raised around him. He wanted to make this easier.
Even with all the rancid angry aura surrounding the two, their shoulders kept continuing to casually brush. It was the cramped seating's fault of course.
Their texts still consisted of the only one she had sent, despite tests coming up and having every excuse to message her. He was worried she’d block him if she hadn’t already.
The class was out, Lumine was ready with her things packed early as usual, and got up quickly to get the hell out of there.
“Wait up,” Ajax shoved his things in his bag and went after her this time around. He was determined to resolve this little issue, even if it meant shoving his pride aside.
She kept walking, ignoring him.
“Lumine please wait, can I say something?” He hated the very apparent lack of attention he consistently got from her. He would admit it, he was a bit of an attention whore.
“You always have something to say, I don’t want to hear it today.”
“Hold on- please. I’m sorry ok?!” It came out a little louder than intended, a couple of other people in the hall glancing over to the pair.
Lumine was embarrassed now, not wanting to cause an awkward scene. They were already obnoxious in class.
She hastily grabbed his hand and led him outside to a place they could be alone. The hand grab was unnecessary, but a weird part of her was still craving that contact, even given the circumstances.
He was so annoying, a constant tease, but at least not blatantly rude like he was before. If anything she was the instigator more often than not. It was deserved.
They walked around to the back of the building, away from the heavier foot traffic. She was still holding his hand and dragging him along. Ajax just went with it, not about to fight this feisty girl if it meant he had a chance to talk.
“What was so important that you needed to say right now?” She kept her voice lower but still stern.
“I- well, I-“ he stuttered over his words trying to find what he wanted to say. She was still clutching his hand and it was making it hard to focus. He didn’t have many Omega friends, especially ones like this.
She waited patiently, staring him down with the all-too-familiar look.
“I’m sorry alright? I- I don’t think I’ve ever apologized for being a jerk when we were younger so I wanted to start with that.” He averted his eyes, feeling ashamed and intimidated by her glare. He continued to reconcile his formative years and how he likes to think he’s grown a bit since then. The hostility in her body was relaxing, she was listening more now, albeit a bit skeptical.
“And… I don’t know, but at least let’s be cordial about the project, I’m sure it will make things easier for both of us. This is the last class that should be stressful. I think… we could be friends even?…” The last part came out as a question without meaning to. Ajax felt awkward rambling like this, he just wanted to not be anxious about this girl all the damn time. She was driving him crazy, both in class together and out of it alone.
Lumine sighed and thought over his words, “I appreciate you apologizing, I guess I wasn’t helping the situation either.” She scratched the back of her head with a free hand. “I didn’t really give you a chance. Sorry about that-“
“Yeah you were a bit of an asshole,” he would still be a nuisance it seems.
“Ajax!” She wouldn’t forgive him too quickly.
“Sorry, sorry.”
They paused, then they were both smiling at each other for once, maybe even the first time ever. Lumine got a small peak at those big canines as they laughed out the nervous tension. She couldn’t help the chill run down her spine, she still wasn’t used to being around Alphas.
“Uhm, Lumine?” Ajax seemed a bit sheepish, this whole past few minutes of talking felt weird and out of character for him. Maybe he had matured.
“What is it?”
“Why are you still holding my hand?” He looked down at their joined hand. It had started out aggressive with her tugging him back here, but now after talking for a bit they just stayed comfortably interlocked together.
Lumine might’ve died from humiliation right there. She hadn’t even noticed she still held on to him. It felt so comfortable and right, even dragging him behind the building. She immediately tried to tug her hand away, but Ajax held on for a moment before she got her hand free.
“It’s fine, I wasn’t complaining,” he tried to act cocky, but his face was red as well, silently wishing he hadn’t brought it up for a couple of extra seconds of contact. Why the hell did it feel so good? Damn her.
She didn’t answer his question, she didn’t know how to answer his question. Despite all the irritation that came off her just by looking at the dummy, she hadn’t felt threatened by him. If anything he gave off a weirdly protective scent that just added to her confused emotions about him.
“I’ll see you Monday,” she needed to get out of here, needed to be anywhere but here.
“Oh, uh, ok bye!” He yelled out at the fleeing Lumine.
That same night she lay in bed clutching her pillow and staring at her phone. Little did she know he was in the same dilemma.
She wasn’t stupid, she was just in denial. Her thoughts said she hated him, but her body said otherwise. She was very physically attracted to the last person she wanted to be attracted to. Part of her thought he was having the same feelings, he stuck around even with her temper and didn’t seem to want to let her hand go. She looked down at her palm, feeling the ghost of his touch taunting her.
Damn Omega instincts, they never did her any good. Out of all the Alphas on campus, he had to be the one to have this effect on her. Betas were so much better to be around, and date, for her mental well-being.
The phone vibrated and the screen lit up, Lumine smooshed her face into the closest pillow unable to look.
She peeked, looking at who the message was from.
Aether.
For fucks sake.
Lumine snatched her phone and opened the message in annoyance.
Older by a minute: Going out with the boys tonight I might stay over at Heizou’s place :)))
Lumine was glad he was feeling comfortable enough to go out with friends now, but man did she feel like a loser going to bed early on a Friday night. She was mid-text back when another notification popped up at the top of her screen. Her fingers immediately stopped typing.
Ajax “Childe?”: Hey are you up?
Never in the history of ever has anything good come from a ‘you up?’ text.
She almost didn’t respond out of principle alone. If it were anyone else… but…
Aether’s gonna kill me.
Lumine: Yeah, what’s up?
Safe, to the point, nothing crazy.
Ajax “Childe?”: Are you free some time to knock out the first part of the project?
He wants to meet up… This weekend… For school? Maybe he was a different guy.
Lumine: Sure, when were you thinking?
Ajax “Childe?: Well wb rn?
Her heart clenched painfully in her chest. The urge to slam her phone onto the bed and never turn it on again was tempting.
Right now? Lumine checked the clock, it was almost 9. It was late but early enough to work on stuff. Didn’t help the loser feeling to be working on homework Friday night but alas. At least she wouldn’t be alone, even if she was hanging out with the last person she wanted to be around.
The sooner she could get this project over with, the better. Maybe she could ask the girl next to her to switch seats once this was all said and done.
Lumine: Ok, where?
Ajax “Childe?”: Most stuff is closed now unless we reserve a room on campus. Want to just come to my place?
Yes! No! Wait- huh?!
Lumine nearly threw her phone across the room. Her heart was racing. His place. At night. Alone at an Alpha’s place as an Omega. Texts like this from past flings meant only one thing.
What the hell am I even thinking… this is Ajax we’re talking about here.
Lumine shuddered and felt like she would be walking into a trap, this was a very bad idea.
However…
Lumine: Sounds good, send your address.
She drove over to the nearby complex off campus. It was common for Alphas to room alone, so many nearby campus apartments accommodated that with small single studios. Part of her hoped he had a roommate.
So we really will be completely alone…
Was she terrified or excited? She couldn’t tell with all the adrenaline. Just a couple hours ago she was ready to rip his eyes out and now they kind of make up and she’s heading to his place?
She could turn around now, make any excuse, but she put her car into park instead.
Maybe I am just a stupid blonde.
Ajax didn’t think she’d say yes, if anything he was expecting a very strongly worded text with a ‘go fuck yourself’ for added flare. But no, she was on her way over.
What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck.
He was in full-force clean-up mode, his apartment wasn’t even dirty. Just fussing over the organization and putting up dried dishes. He was in the middle of wiping down the table when he got a text.
Lumine: Here! Walking up now.
Ajax was ready to explode from nervousness. He’s had the occasional guest over before, the only difference here was that instead of him being trashed and taking them to his room they were… just studying.
The other big thing that stuck out in his head was that she was an Omega. The Omega that’s been on his mind for nearly a month now and causing him way too much strife. He was just hoping he could keep himself in check and not freak her out.
There was a knock at the door.
Ajax nearly leaped out of his skin, taking a few breaths and trying to calm himself down before he filled his place with a nervous stink.
He opened the door.
“Hey, come on in,” He acted friendly enough, opening the door all the way to allow Lumine inside. She gave a small smile as she came in toting her backpack. Walking into his place was not nearly as overwhelming as she was anticipating. The scent was nice, it was definitely his place.
Small talk was easy enough, they got set up at his small dining table and began to work on the project next to each other.
That small talk didn’t last long.
“What is this slide? It makes no sense.” Lumine was tired of editing so many mistakes.
“I’m just brainstorming, what is it not smart enough for you? Want me to use bigger words?” His teasing sounded more mocking.
“No, please use only words that you know. The short ones.”
“What happened to being friendly?”
“How the hell am I supposed to be friendly with you?” She painstakingly dragged her hands over her face in exasperation. Lumine was close to tearing her hair out.
They argued and worked at the same time, somehow it worked but was pissing both of them off.
“Ok I’m changing the subject before we kill each other,” Ajax rubbed the tiredness out of his eyes with a scowl, partially regretting inviting her over. It was late, and he'd much rather be on the bar crawl he skipped to talk to this annoying girl. They got done what they needed to surprisingly enough.
His grumbling had him baring his teeth and he didn’t even realize it until he saw Lumine’s face. She was staring with wide eyes, her scent a hint nervous.
Oh, shit whoops.
He didn’t apologize outright but made a point to correct his behavior.
“Ok, so what’s the new subject then,” Lumine crossed her arms but relaxed a bit. Little did he know she was envisioning him biting her, her nervousness not from intimidation.
“What the hell is that perfume you are wearing? It’s so strong,” Ajax looked at her with a teasing smirk. He pinched his nose and waved a hand in front of his face dramatically. He changed the subject, but to just something new to banter about.
“I was going to ask the same question, you smell like you soaked your shirt in cologne. What you don’t shower or something?” She smirked back, trying to get the upper hand. “And no, I don’t wear anything, weirdo.”
“Weirdo? Very mature. I’m not wearing any cologne either you weirdo.”
They were both ready to continue to shit talk when it both clicked in their heads.
“What? You aren’t?” They said in unison.
“You’re full of shit pretty boy-” She pointed an accusing finger in his face.
“Aw, you think I’m pretty, you liar?” He smacked her hand out of his face.
They were scooting closer to each other unknowingly. Squaring up.
“Why would I lie about this? What? You want to smell me or something freak?” Lumine was smiling big, a mocking laugh escaping her.
They were really close to one another now, Lumine was breathing in that addicting smell. Ajax was subconsciously leaning in.
“Maybe, maybe not,” he was smiling that same shit-eating grin too, their eyes locked.
That familiar heart-racing feeling was back for both of them. A few seconds of staring felt like a lifetime, and Lumine acted on an impulse.
She suddenly closed the small distance, and deeply kissed Ajax. He was stunned at first with eyes wide open but was quick to return the kiss, running a hand to the side of her face. For a moment they were fully focused on one another, testing the turbulent waters and opening their mouths to deepen the contact. Her lips were so soft and tasted so sweet. It was different from anything he’d experienced before. The air was thick with desire, radiating from both of them.
Lumine harshly pulled back, realizing what the hell she just did.
What am I doing?
“Oh fuck, I’m sorry, I don’t know why-“
Lumine shot up, pushing away from the table and making the chair scrape a loud awful sound. Ajax grabbed her wrist and stood with her.
“Wait, Lumine-“
She tried to hurry away, not sure where to go but needing to further the distance between her and Ajax. Needing to escape.
He followed her, trying to calm her flustered antics.
“Lumine, look at me.” His voice was deep and commanding now, practically demanding her attention.
She shot her head up to look at him, nervousness and excitement flaring through her body. It felt so right but so wrong, she was clueless as to why she felt so weak to him at this moment.
He took a hesitant step forward, and she went one back, bumping into the wall. She was cornered, terrified but also elated. Emotions were truly all over the place.
Ajax ran his hand up the side of her neck and face again, nearly drawing a whimper out of her as his hand lightly grazed the scent gland on her neck. She subconsciously leaned into his palm with a shudder. Somehow his touch calmed her.
“It… feels really good right?” He asked in a whispered confused manner like he was trying to confirm his own suspicions. Ajax sounded different, usually so cocky and insufferable but now had a slight tremble in his tone. He genuinely didn’t understand his own weird need to have contact with Lumine. She closed her eyes, nodding her head sharply as if she didn’t want to admit it.
She opened her eyes and saw him lean in, pushing her more up against the wall.
“Can I?-” His lips hovered close to hers, his warm breath making her feel one step closer to overheating.
She stared him in the eyes, trying to take deep breaths but only drinking in more of the scent that had her spiraling.
Ajax couldn’t get a read on what she was thinking. Her scent enveloping the two of them wanted him, but she was still denying herself.
I want you?
“I… I need you,” The words escaped her lips before she knew what they were. Her needy whine nearly had Ajax pass out, there was not enough blood making it to his brain. She needed him, badly, her dumb body betraying her mind. He took the opportunity to kiss her again, tilting her head up to meet his. Lumine followed his lead and tasted him, her hands tentatively making their way up his chest. Just touching him through his clothes made it difficult to stand.
Ajax pulled away for a moment, looking down at Lumine, both of them breathing heavily. Her eyes kept glancing back down to his lips.
“You taste so good,” he mumbled out, his eyes glazing over. Ajax wanted more. Lumine had those eyes that were practically begging him to take her to his bed. Suspicions were confirmed when she leaned back in to kiss him once more roughly. This time there was no hesitation.
They were both running on instincts and adrenaline now. Ajax picked her up as she wrapped her legs around him, their lips still locked, and walked the two of them towards his bedroom door.
