Work Text:

Fukukado Emi wanted to know who decided that a class about cells and whatnot should be at eight am in the morning. This would be more fun at night. Emi groaned, bringing the cup of coffee she had brought at the cafe to her lips, making sure to be careful. “You’re here early, Ms. Usually Tardy.” Emi nearly spat up her coffee in shock at the joke when she recognized the voice.

“Funny, I didn’t know you knew how to make jokes.” Emi shot back at Kayama Nemuri, one of the smartest girls in the class; she just never wanted to apply herself. Emi could understand why considering that their professor only wanted her to answer the questions because Nemuri did nothing but study. Emi wanted to help her let loose and she knew that she could do that by dragging the woman into a party.

“There are lots of things you don’t know about me, Fukukado.” Nemuri told the woman and Emi rolled her eyes as politely as she could, not wanting the woman to think she was trying to be rude. She just wanted to ask the woman about hanging out when Nemuri suddenly looked over at her. “Did you want to go to a party with me?” She asked and Emi stared at the woman in shock because how the heck did she know that she was about to ask that question? Emi looked at Nemuri as if she had grown a second head.

“How did you even know I was going to ask you?” The seafoam green-haired woman questioned, causing Nemuri to laugh at her.

“Of course, you don’t know.” Her words caused Emi to look over at her in mild irritation. “I’m the one who plans all of the parties.” Nemuri’s response made Emi nearly jump in shock.

“How do you plan your own parties but never attend them?” The woman was very curious about Nemuri even more, having already found the woman interesting but now she was really finding the woman interesting.

“You know the type of classmates we have. They’re just a rowdy bunch.” The dark-haired woman said as she rolled her eyes.

“But I’m rowdy.” Emi said in confusion, resulting in a snort from her classmate.

“You’re funny, there’s a difference.” Nemuri winked at her and Emi turned away, feeling her cheeks heat up from the sight of Nemuri flirting with her. She couldn’t have been flirting with me. The seafoam green-haired woman didn’t want to think that Nemuri really wanted to flirt with her, of all people. She finds me funny so that’s a plus. Emi was happy that the woman found her funny but she was just happy that Nemuri would finally go to one of her own parties. Sure, it may have taken her to ask Emi out, but she was still going.

Emi’s brain jolted to a pause.

Nemuri really did ask her to go out with her, didn’t she?

“Oh, fuck, I have a date with a hot woman and I am not prepared!”

Ei rushed back to her room, hoping she had a dress or at least, something nice to wear. Luckily, she found a pair of black jeans and a plain yellow shirt. I would probably not be sighted anyway so this should be fine. Hopefully. Emi was only second-guessing her outfit because she wanted to know if Nemuri would be willing to match with her. Grabbing her phone, she sent the other woman a text message, hoping that it was okay for them to coordinate with the same colors.

When Nemuri gave her the okay, Emi was very much over the moon. She had the hottest woman in her class wanting to take her out on a date. I am going to make this fun for her. Emi didn’t want to give Nemuri a boring date, wanting the woman to have fun. It was already clear that she thought her own parties weren’t worth it to attend but now Emi has a chance to help the dark-haired woman have fun at her own party.

When Nemuri showed up at her dorm, Emi smiled at her date of the night, hoping she could ask out the woman later, wanting to make things official between them. “Do you drink?” Nemuri asked and Emi looked over at her.

“I try to do it moderately…” Emi shyly revealed and Nemuri giggled at the words, hearing the actual words.

“Don’t worry, I drink a lot too. I’m gambling tonight. You want in?” Nemuri asked, her gaze flickering over to Emi for a quick second.

“I’m only good at card games and dice.” Emi hoped that she wasn’t going to be too much out of her zone but when Nemuri smiled softly at her, Emi figured that things were going to be just swell.

Emi doesn’t know how much tequila she had drunk but all she knew was that she was helping Nemuri win a lot of money. Before she could take another shot of tequila, Nemuri gently pushed a bottle of water into her hand instead. Emi struggled to open the bottle before Nemuri sighed and opened it for her. “You’re hopeless but you’re cute so I can forgive it.” Emi stared into Nemuri’s gaze, as she mindlessly grabbed the money she had just won.

“You find me cute?” Emi knew she should stop talking but Nemuri was very close to her and oh, she could smell her perfume. She was standing very close to her. Emi blushed at the sight of how close Nemuri was to her.

“Yes, I find you cute.” Nemuri knew she had to get Emi back to her dorm, seeing that the woman was too drunk to do anything else. She really was good at playing cards and dice. Nemuri was really excited to know that Emi really knew her stuff. She knew that one day, she would want to gamble with Emi but Nemuri knew she would do it for fun when it came to Emi.

“Kiss me please.” Emi whined. Nemuri giggled at the words.

“When you’re not drunk later on, come ask me again.” Nemuri told the woman, who pouted at the words.

The next day, Emi couldn’t believe she had asked Nemuri to kiss her when she was drunk. She knocked on the woman’s door with the intent of apologizing but when Nemuri smiled softly at her, Emi knew she had fallen faster than ever. “Are you here for that kiss and to make things official?” Nemuri asked and Emi barely nodded her head when Nemuri pulled her into a kiss, wanting Emi to know how long she had been wanting to ask out the woman.
