Work Text:
I huffed to myself as the person who had spoken faded. Shaking myself off, I jumped up in defiance,“Who need friends? I’ve got toys and power and..and…”,my voice trailed off, my chest ached and my eyes burned. I sunk to the floor, clutching a stuffed toy to my chest. “I’m the Collector, there isn’t anyone stronger or better than me. I have Phillip, he promised to play with me soon.”, even to my own ears, my words sounded weak, shaky even. I gazed upon my blackened walls, barely lit up by the bright little stars I loved to play with. “It’s lonely here.” Its barely a whisper, but my voice echoed anyways. I felt my cheeks get wet as the tears spilled over. Sniffling my fast clogging nose, I burrowed into the soft fabric of the plush. “Please come back. It’s dark in here. I don’t want to be alone again.”
But no one answered.
He was alone.
