Chapter Text
Kalego has only ever taken a day off when he needed to heal emotionally from being summoned as a familiar. But before then, not once.
He was a student when he had to be forcefully taken from the campus grounds. The dog was on the last possible nerve and about to start his evil cycle. Narnia, Kalego's older brother, told the clan he felt something odd this morning and to check him for abnormalities. They thought he was being dramatic. But when Sullivan had to call the clan and ask them to get the pup, they took Narnia's hunches more serious there and after. When Kalego heard, he took that as a complement that he could hide how he felt that well. (Instead of the implication he always acted like he was in his evil cycle.)
Of course, today was no diffrent from the rest, Kalego walked into the school and looked annoyed as usual. The only difference is when Robin came and started complimenting him and walking in his way. He wasn't violent. He did not yell. He stopped, looked at Robin, and then picked him up by the shoulders -gently- and set the green teacher behind himself, continuing his mysterious path.
Robin was confused and overjoyed! Was Kalego giving him a silent praise? Or was he finally warming up to him! Will they be friends now!? But there was one detail that bothered the green teacher, Kalego was quiet this time. As he watched Kalego, he noticed the man made his own presence shrink almost out of existance. Usually, his aura demanded attention, now it wanted to hide for as long as possible.
He'll bring it up to the chairdemon later.
Skipping the teacher's lounge completely, Kalego steps quietly, not even disturbing dust, then halts at the cafeteria. Some would say he wandered, others say it was a patrol, but he was looking for the misfit class.

Iruma, Ausmodeus, and Clara were sitting and eating, Clara occasionally trying to shove food down Iruma's throat while Alice repremanded her. Sabro was challenging another student to an arm wrestle. Purson was in the breakfast line, grabbing a red fruit with green spikes. Allocer was walking between tables. Elizabetta and Kamui were sitting at a table, Kamui trying to get her attention again. Jazz was roaming the halls with Lied, Garp, and Agares. (More specifically, Agares was being dragged like a ballon by Garp.) No sign of Crocell yet.
Kalego wanted to trail the four that were walking aimlessly, but he knew he needed to act as natural as possible to stay unsuspected to fill his instincts and keep his chil— students safe. คຖ໓ ¢໐๓plētēlฯ t໐ hi๓Şēlf.
Kalego walked to the royal one and sat patiently. After all...
School hasn't even started yet.

Most of them are here. Only the love trio are missing. Just be patient. Just be patient.
His irrational side screams to knockout all of the students present and hunt down the last three. But he wont.
...
...
.
Fuck it.
Remembering a spell to keep a demon as down as the dead, he begins moving his fingers as golden magic frolics between them when- there they are.
The three walk in with Clara spinning circles around Iruma and Ausmodeus. Said fire master is yelling at the girl. "How DARE you get this dust on master Iruma's shoes! Clean his feet at ONCE you imbicile!" Iruma has a content smile on his face and tells Ausmodeus 'It's fine! Really, i don't mind at all.'
Kalego cancels the spell and stands as he hears the final bell (You Might As Well WALK to Class, Because You're LATE Either Way!~) signaling the start of class.
He begins normally, starting class with role call, then explaining the lesson. He keeps it short, knowing the strain of holding back an evil cycle will leave him speechless in only moments. His voice begins to crack as he points to a commically large stack of papers. Some kids groan, and just like that, his plan is solid. They wont be doing packets, they won't do anything harmful ever again.
With a snap of his fingers, a crossword puzzle appears in front of all the kids and they're just stunned into silence. Kalego spreads his arms with his palms to the sky as he raises them slowly, gold and purple smoke rising against the walls of the Royal one. Kalego snaps his arms down to his sides and the smoke hardens to something akin to a chain link fence, then dissapears.
His children were safe, and nobody would hurt them again. The misfits started getting rowdy, so the guard dog made a graceful hand motion and more smoke appeared, this time encasing the entire classrom. Each student started feeling tired, and one by one, they dropped to the floor like insects.
Kalego, humming a soft tune, summoned Cereberon in his largest and most fluffy form. He laid each and every child on the dog's leg or side. But Iruma was His master, so Iruma stayed in Kalego's arms.
A soft snore from the weak and fragile human in his arms, ‐he figured it out about a week ago‐ makes his lips curl with a warm feeling in his chest. The paternal instinct is filled. The children are here. They are safe.
They are home.
Across the netherworld, in a boarder patrol meeting, Narnia shivers and has a feeling of dread. He knows this feeling all too well. Its the same feeling he had when Kalego went to school on edge. The older dog begins to feel scared for his brother. Because now he also feels the satisfaction of that desire fufilled...
but he doesn't know what that desire was.
