'Why did he DO THAT-WHY WHY?!' Andy paced back and forth around and in front of Aid Car 19; worried out of her mind
about her estranged husband trapped in the rubble of the three-story structure after two explosions brought it down before
he could safely escape. Several of her fellow firefighters notice her muttering angrily to herself, waving her arms about and
directing occasional kicks at the Ambo's tires. ' Asi que tenemos un HIJO, Carajo ! You're a Battalion Chief, damn you!'
They looked away when she climbed into the back of the vehicle and slammed the rear doors..loud choking sobs were heard through
the thin metal skin of the Aid Car just seconds later. It did take a while before she regained control and when she did her anger gave
way to FEAR...

So long, we've felt hard our lack = And furrows ran deep in our backs...
While fables scattered minds - And we saw faith flee and waters rise
As the men we were, we lost our tongues and hearts - As the men we were, we forgot what's ours
…
When lions roar into the sea - Drown out the lies that built up walls and made us small
As lions roar into the sea - We come alive...

"Command to Chief Sullivan: come back...(static)
"Chief...are you able to answer? If so please respond...(static)
Warren said aloud what the rest of 19 and 23 were thinking: "Someone should go and get Andy."
Bishop waited for a beat before saying "FINCH; can you take care of that, please?"
"On it." Finch trotted toward the Aid Car before Beckett bellowed "Hold It!" Red-faced, he charged over, a little unsteady on
his feet. "Were you able to raise Sullivan?" he demanded of Maya.
"No Captain...CHIEF Sullivan has not responded. If he does not I recommend a search and rescue as soon as Lieutenant Herrera
makes it over."
"What for?! If you can't raise him why would she be able to?!"
"My thinking was that if the BC is groggy or barely conscious that if anyone's voice can get him to respond HERS can."
Again he said "WHY??! They're gettin' a divorce, last I heard!"
"SIR...may Finch continue to Aid Car and bring Herrera here?"
They are so distracted that none of them notice Battalion Chief Frankel's arrival. "CAPTAIN BECKETT-I'm assuming command
of the scene." She glanced around and demanded, "I don't see S and D initiated - why?"
"Organise that will you?" As he trudged off the BC motioned for Bishop to join her: "I smell liquor on him."
"I...couldn't say, Ma'am," the blonde replied.
"You could but you WON'T-you'll need to get over that if you ever hope to get a captaincy again," Frankel advised. "We women
get to these positions through struggle and anguish and denying our femininity and enduring all the shit that they throw at us-
trying to break us so that we won't even TRY...you have to get stronger Lieutenant. Now tell Beckett that you're relieving him:
he's unfit to be on this scene."
"Yes, Ma'am." Frankel took a few minutes to review the iPad handed to her by Bishop before she moved away - she's interrupted
by a shout from Jack Gibson:
"Cheif Frankel-we made contact with Chief Sullivan! "
Stay close, oh brother and friend = They'll see us split into islands
Have we forgotten from where we have come? = Who we are, and what we have done until now?
And as the men we were, we lost our tongues and hearts - As the men we were, we forgot what's ours

An unusually Captain Nash solemn approaches his wife with some hesitancy: "Babe?"
"Mm-hm?" She completed their infant son's diaper change and popped him into his baby swing.
"I have some news; let's sit," he suggested, indicating the nearby rocking chairs. "What's happenin', Bobby? What is it?!"
"'Thena; please sit." Athena Grant-Nash crossed her arms across her chest, her mind made up.
Nash drew a deep breath and said "OK. Michael's, um...Michael's...GONE. He's dead, 'Thena. I'm sorry, Babe."
The police Sergeant groped for one of the rocking chairs and misjudged, falling to the carpet and staring vacantly into space.
Bobby goes to her immediately, kneeling close. "Babe?"
"Gone," Athena said. "Murdered? Vehicle crash? What?" Then she blurted "The KIDS!"
Bobby said "I know. This is gonna wreck them."
"They'll wanna know what happened..."
"He...went in to assess the structural damage after a gas main explosion. The Seattle Captain on scene mis-assessed the location
the location of an off-shoot gas main...there's talk that he was drunk on scene. He gave an all-clear and...the building Mike was
in came down."
"My God! My God, Bobby!"
