Chapter Text

It was December 31st, the final day of the year. Family and friends getting together and going to parties.

For Zim, he decided it was gonna be his time. He was going to find a plan to sabotage the New Year's Eve event hosted by Professor Membrane happening at the park. As he, GIR, Minimoose and the Roboparents arrived there, he had an evil smile on his face.

"Soon, this new earth year will be mine", he said in satisfaction. "Those humans will never know what will hit them when I become their ruler of Earth!"

"Oh they will know!" A familiar voice. "Huh?"

Zim turned around and saw that Dib, Gaz, and their dad were also there. Dib walked up to the disguised irken and robots with his arms crossed. "I'm not gonna let you ruin New Years for everyone, Zim, and I'll put a stop to whatever it is you have, just you wait!" Zim rolled his eyes. "Oh please Dib-human, you have no idea what I have in store for you and your fellow humans."

GIR jumped in excitement. "WE'RE GONNA HAVE PIGGIES!"

"No, we're not GIR", Zim glared at him. "Aww!"

Gaz walked over to them with her Game Slave 4. "The only good thing that's coming out of going to the park at night is that I get to stay up past my bedtime so don't bother me." Then she walked off and to a bench to sit on. Dib turned back to Zim. "Oh don't worry space-boy, I will find out what you're gonna do and when I-"

"Dib! I need you and your sister to come over here!" Dib heard his father's voice and his sister's groan. "Right after I go see what my dad wants." He ran off. Zim clapped sarcastically. "Yay, good for you Dib-stink." GIR noticed and clapped while cheering. "Hurray for Mary!" Zim looked around to see tons of people at the park and then at something else.

There were a couple of people with boxes of little rockets and other stuff. "Hmm." He walked over to Zita who was standing by her father, who was helping with the supposed objects.

He tapped on her shoulder. "Excuse me, filthy earth monkey, but what are those roof cylinder sticks that your father-unit is helping with?", he asked. Zita giggled. "They're not roof cylinder sticks silly, they're sky rockets and firecrackers, you never heard of them?" The irken shook his head. "Well, sky rockets are like little rockets that fly into the sky and explodes, creating fireworks, which are pellets that are colorful when in the sky and firecrackers are a type of firework that make a loud bang when lit up."

Zim was listening like he was writing it down in his mind. 'I've got an idea now.' "Well, do you think I can be of assistance?," he asked her. "I don't know", she shrugged. "You'll have to ask the other adults over there." She pointed to the adults that were preparing the skyrockets. "Very well, then, Zim will be off now, farewell, Zita-human," he said as he walked away from her. 'Maybe he can stop being so weird next year I hope', she thought.

Zim went over to the adults who were in charge of the stuff for the celebration and recognized one of them as Mr. Elliot, Gaz's teacher.

"Mr. Elliot?" The teacher looked down at Zim and smiled. "Why hello Zim, aren't you so happy that New Years is coming in a few hours?"

"Um, yeah, like a normal human which I am. Anyways, I've noticed that you and the others are using sky rockets and crackers of fire for the celebration of Earth's new year and I was wondering if I could assist in helping?," he asked. Mr. Elliot nodded. "Of course, all I need is permission from your parents since I don't want you to get hurt or anything."

"Very well then, oh Mom and Dad!" The roboparents rolled over. "Yeeesss?" "May I have permission to help in preparing the stuff for the glorious celebration?" "Why sure you can, have fun, son!", the Robomom said as she rolled off, with Robodad following her. "Okay then, come with me, Zim," Mr. Elliot said as he led Zim to the boxes, which were filled with skyrockets and fireworks.

He heard a gasp behind him.

"Zim?!" "Huh?" He turned around to see Keef running towards him and locking him in a tight hug. "I can't believe you're here! I never thought you would come but you did, are you helping set the fireworks up cause I'm doing that too!" Zim was able to get out of Keef's grip as he gasped for air. "Why yes I am, Keef-human." Keef squealed cheerfully at this. "This is great, maybe we can watch the fireworks together when the countdown begins and-" Zim was ignoring Keef's rambling on spending time together as he had his eyes on a huge skyrocket firework that was near the other boxes. He tugged at Mr. Elliot's pants. "Um teaching human, what's with that huge skyrocket over there?", he asked.

"Oh, that's for the best part! When the countdown starts later, Professor Membrane will launch it since he's the one who made it, it's gonna have lots of little rockets in there that will spell out "Happy New Year" in the sky." The information the teacher was giving gave Zim an even more diabolical plan. "I see, and what time will the announcement for the countdown be?" Mr. Elliot scratched his head. "Well, I think it'll start at 11:55 and right now it's 10:40 so I don't think that it's gonna be long."

'Perfect, that will be enough time to put my plan into action!', Zim thought. Then the teacher handed Zim a box. "Now for the skyrockets, I need you to fill some with black powder and for the firecrackers, you need to set them on the ground and if you need help, don't be afraid to ask." "Alright then," Zim says as he takes the box to somewhere where no one could see him. "Haha, this is going to be so epic."
