“Kie? John B? Pope?” JJ calls out from under all the dust, it wasn’t surprising that they got into another shootout
“Sarah? Cleo?” He yells but hears nothing as fear runs through his veins.
But then there’s some sort of relief when he hears her
“JJ!” she calls out
“oh my god your okay” JJ says as he sees her when he turns around walks to her with a limb hugging her tightly
“are you hurt?” He asks through into her hair as she shakes her head
“No I’m fine, are you- are you okay” she asks into his shirt
“I’m A-okay” he says as she laughs as they pull away
“oh god I think I broke a rib” he groans and kie just smiles sadly at him and he feels sudden guilt for everything
“this is all my fault” JJ says as they stands there
“don’t do that jj, if this is anyone fault it’s wards fault” she says to him
“No. no john b wanted to leave- if we left then we would be fine- and I ruined everything by saying we should stay and try and get the gold an-“ jj rambles
“No jj, you wanted what we deserved, and I know for a fact that if you knew this is how it would turn out you would’ve never second guessed staying here” she says and jj looks down
“your my bestfriend alright? And I know you have no idea how special you are but you are.” She says as she smiles at him
“Whether you like it or not” she says as he smiles at her
“Come on let’s find everyone else” she says as they start walking and then kie puts a hand on JJs shoulder stopping him at she mutters
“I just need to catch my- my breath..” she says as he looks at her confused
As she takes her hand of his shoulder and looks at it as it shakes
and takes a step back as she starts to fall over and jj rushes to grab her holding her waist looking at her with pure fear over his face
“are you okay? w-what happened” he asks her his voice hoarsely as he tucks a strand of her curly piece of hair behind her ear as she breathes slowly
“what h-happened?” He asked again frantically as she softly smiles for a moment
“just have to catch my breath” she mutters her eyelids felt so heavy and all she wanted to do was close them
“okay…catch your breath I’m right here okay?” He says holding her on his lap as he feels something on his leg
He reached for her stomach touching it before bringing it out seeing his hand covered in blood as he looks at her and she’s looking at him confused
“are you okay?” She asks him
“someone help!” he does hesitate to scream from the top of his hinge
“someone get an ablmbulance” he cries but hears no one
“wh-what happened” she asks softly her voice getting higher
“nothing. nothing happened” he says his voice breaking as he holds her face his eyes brimming with tears
“your okay. your okay.” he says kissing her head through her hair
“are the- are the others okay” she says so softly he can hardly hear her
“they’re fine, we’re gonna go back to outer banks.. a-and go in the cats ass” he says as she softly smiles at him
“we’re gonna, uh- we’re gonna all sleep in a pig pile on the pullout couch like we used to, get drunk on the dock, and me and you.. we can share a blunt again” he says his voice croaky as he tries to stop the sob that threatening to come out when she smiles sweetly at him
Her breath gets slower and slower and weaker as jj shakes his head fast and holds her face again softly
“your okay” he reassures
“remember when I fell off the cargo ship?” He asks her as she nods
“I was so scared, not for me but I passed out not knowing if you were okay, if he hurt you” he says softly a tear running down his face
“but then I woke up to you, and John b told me that you held me above the water not knowing if we had a boat or anything” he says as she frowns at the memory
“I know I-I was really overprotective but now.. now I know that you don’t need me” he says
“because you are so fucking strong kie, and your gonna be okay alright” he says as she nods quickly
“I-I love you jay” she says her breath shaky against his face as she finally closes her eyes, she knew she was gonna die
“kie” he says softly
“kie” he says a little big louder as she doesn’t respond to him, no word, no head shake, nothing
Her body is still, too still
“can you look at me kie.. please” he pleads his eyes full of tears as he cries
“kie..what are you doing..please- can you just… w-wake up and talk to me” he cries as he holds her closer to him
“please” he says frantically over and over again
“I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry” he sobs as he kisses her head holding her tightly to his chest
“JJ!” He hears from a distance it’s John b
They’re okay.
“JJ! are you good? everyone’s okay!” He says an arm around his girlfriend as he gets closer to see the boy sobbing with the girl in his arms
“JJ” Sarah says softly as Pope and Cleo catch up behind them
“kie” pope says quietly
“Is she- is she okay” sarah asks she could feel tears sting the corner of her eyes as she steps closer to all the blood as she gasps and jj shakes his head
“no” she says crouching down next her seing her face, she looked pale.
“she’s gone” jj cries as his head dropped onto kies forehead as the others gathered around and Sarah wrapped her arms around the girl sobbing into her
Pope had tears running down his face as he hugged Sarah tightly along with John B
“this isn’t real” pope cried as they all hugged each other so closely.
