Work Text:

“I’m a what?” Wonwoo questions upon hearing the strange phrase that left through Soonyoung’s lips just seconds ago. He looks up from eating his ramen in the middle of the dorm lounge to look at the way Soonyoung casually shrugs his shoulders, his loose shirt falling to the side to show off his collarbone. “Repeat what you just said.”

“That Soonyoung chews very loudly?” Jun questions.

“No, after that.”

“You’re literally blind without your glasses?” Soonyoung asks.

“Before that.”

“That you give off babygirl energy?” Jun answers in place of Soonyoung chewing on his rice cakes. Wonwoo stares at his two friends who do nothing but return the same feline-like looks back to him. He turns to Jihoon sitting next to him in hopes that the other only sane person in their same-aged friend group will help clarify whatever the two guys mean by the term ‘babygirl,’ but much to Wonwoo dismay, Jihoon had tuned out their conversation twenty minutes ago.

“It means you give off this vibe that everyone wants to take care of you,” Soonyoung explains vaguely, “especially Mingyu since you are his babygirl the most.”

“That still does not explain anything. And what does Mingyu have to do with this?” Wonwoo continues to question. Soonyoung sighs with a disappointed shake of his head and Jun giggles into his hands. Neither of them answer Wonwoo’s question and though he is not known to be nosy, he cannot handle when he does not get information that he is asking. “What does it mean to be a babygirl?” Jihoon adds to the laughs this time, choking on his water as Soonyoung and Jun nearly fall out of their chairs. Wonwoo frowns. “Tell me!”

“Look it up,” Jihoon says instead, “or better yet, ask Mingyu.”

Wonwoo still does not understand why his friends insist on asking Kim Mingyu for answers considering he has known his friends longer than the younger man but he considers if he wants any answers then maybe he should ask Mingyu.

Finding the man is easy because not only as a six foot tall man does he stand out in the crowd but Mingyu has the aura that everyone just genuinely gravitates to no matter where they are. Today, Mingyu is out on the basketball court playing a round with his friends. Wonwoo takes a seat on the bleachers and watches Mingyu play until the game is over.

He’s watched Mingyu play basketball a handful of times already. They've been great friends since the beginning of university and Wonwoo likes to think he’s formed a great bond with the other man throughout the years.

Mingyu is fun, energetic and very handsome. He balances smoothly with Wonwoo’s quiet and peaceful lifestyle. But despite that they share many similarities like photography and filmography, and even the same fashion senses and taste buds. They truly are the epitome of opposites attract.

When the game is over, Mingyu smiles at Wonwoo’s presence and jogs his way over with a sweet and sweaty face. “Hey,” Mingyu smiles at him, his canines popping out for a hello. Wonwoo only smiles back and takes Mingyu’s towel to dab on his face gently, watching the way Mingyu’s eyes close as he does so. “I saw your text earlier,” Mingyu says behind the towel, “what made you want to get Italian food tonight?”

Wonwoo shrugs, putting the towel down. “Feels like we haven’t had Italian in a while.” He answers. The two of them often get dinner together whenever they can and Mingyu always lets Wonwoo pick their palette for the nights. “You’re all sweaty.”

Mingyu chuckles. “Well, that’s what happens when you play basketball for hours.” The joke isn’t funny but the two of them still giggle to themselves like they’re in the little world until Wonwoo sees the rest of Mingyu’s friends walking up to them.

“Oh~ Mingyu, your boyfriend is here!” Jeon Jungkook with the sleeve tattoos says through his pierced lips, smiling as the others grin at them. Mingyu rolls his eyes and Wonwoo laughs. It’s an on-going joke within the friend group and quite honestly even though they’re not together, Wonwoo does not mind the tease at all because it always gets Mingyu all flustered.

“Wonwoo, are you coming to the party?” Jaehyun speaks this time.

Wonwoo shakes his head. “What party?”

“Johnny’s Halloween party next week!” Jaehyun replies. “You should come. Johnny told me to literally invite anyone.”

Yugyeom laughs next to Jaehyun. “Let’s hope you don’t walk out on the fire escape again like last week.”

“I was drunk!”

Wonwoo turns to look at Mingyu who shakes his head with a laugh. “It’s a long story.” He says to which Wonwoo nods, hopefully to hear it over dinner time. “Anyways, I’m going to go change and then let’s get dinner, cool?”

Wonwoo smiles. “Cool.”

Mingyu leaves for the changing room and Wonwoo stays with the other friends who are still going off about how Jaehyun crashed onto someone’s balcony two floors under and now is avoiding his problems about crushing on some guy. He admires Mingyu’s friend group. They all have such different personalities yet radiate the same energy and it’s quite amazing how every time he meets them there is always a new story to tell.

“So yeah, you should definitely come to the party.” Jaehyun continues his invitation. “It’ll be fun! There’s going to be booze and snacks and music. Mingyu is going too so I think he’d like it if you came along with him.”

Wonwoo blinks. “He said that?”

Yugyeom hums as he ponders. “Well, he didn’t mention it out loud but we pretty much assumed he would say that. You can tell what Kim Mingyu is thinking right by looking at his face.” Wonwoo does not understand what Yugyeom means by that. Sometimes he will look at Mingyu and only wonder what a guy like him would think.

“Hey, can I ask you three a question?” Wonwoo asks, catching their attention at once. “What does it mean to be a babygirl?” He is met with silence except it takes a moment for Jungkook to finally choke on his water when he hears the question.

“Sorry, went down the wrong pipe,” Jungkook spits out. “C-Can you repeat the question?”

“A babygirl,” Wonwoo repeated. “What does that term mean?”

Another moment of silence as the guys just look at each other in hopes that one of them will answer but they never do. “I don’t know,” Yugyeom says but there seems to be a little smile on his lips. “Maybe you should ask Mingyu that.”

🌙🌙🌙

“So are you going to Johnny’s Halloween Party?” Mingyu asks on their way to the Italian restaurant. He’s changed from his basketball playing clothes to a casual outfit made up of a nice shirt, long trousers, and a light jacket that he holds in his hands. “We should go together.”

“Are you dressing up?” Wonwoo asks and he watches the way Mingyu’s lips curve into a thinking pout before the boy nods.

“I should since it’ll be Halloween. I’m thinking about going as a werewolf.”

Wonwoo grimaces. “A werewolf? That’s kinda basic don’t you think?” He chuckles when Mingyu swats his hand in denial. “I shouldn’t be talking since I’m a vampire every year. What should I be this year?”

“Well since we’ll go as a pair, do you want to be a werewolf too?” Mingyu asks and Wonwoo grimaces again. Mingyu laughs. “Okay no werewolf for you then.”

“How are you going to dress as werewolf?” Wonwoo questions but then gasps. “Don’t tell me you’re not going to shave until Halloween.”

“Haha, very funny Jeon Wonwoo.” Mingyu rolls his eyes at Wonwoo’s boisterous laughter. “I’ll buy some puppy ears and put some makeup on. Maybe I’ll go shirtless too.”

Wonwoo thinks about the last part of Mingyu’s words and he unintentionally looks down to stare at his friend’s chest. It’s no doubt everyone thinks Mingyu has the build of literally Hercules and combined with that handsome smile and set of sharp canines, he might as well be cast in for another movie of Twilight. “Oh, look at you all confident.” Wonwoo teases. “Well, if you’re going as a dog, maybe I’ll go as a cat.”

They arrive at the restaurant and the host leads the two to a table and set down their menus. “A cat?” Mingyu questions as he opens the menu to scroll through their dinner choices. “And how will you dress up as that?” He turns to the waitress. “One Tagliatelle with bacon and mushrooms, and one Lemon ricotta Bucatini please. And for drinks, a Pinot Grigio and a Pinot Noir. Thank you.”

Wonwoo smiles as the waitress leaves for their orders. “Something simple I guess. I’ll buy some cat eyes, draw in whiskers, easy stuff.” Their wines arrive and Mingyu sips his white wine as Wonwoo does with his red. “Maybe I’ll wear a crop top.” He sees the way Mingyu’s eyes perk up behind the wine glass when he hears the outfit choice.

“Crop top? Haven’t seen you wear that in a while.’

Wonwoo laughs. “Why would I wear a crop top on a normal day?” He says, leaning in to rest his chin on the center of his palm as he swirls the red wine in the glass. “Why? Do you like seeing me in crop tops?”

Mingyu grins and leans closer as well. “I’ve seen plenty with all the semi-nudes you’ve sent me.” He replies and Wonwoo laughs this time because that statement is both false and true. He does not send nudes, he sends selfies with unintentional angles that may or may not show off his pair of collarbones or skin under whatever outfit he is wearing for that day. Mingyu leans back on his seat. “But yes you should wear a crop top. You have a nice waist to show off.”

“I do have a nice waist.” Wonwoo agrees.

Their dinners finally arrive and the aroma is already making Wonwoo’s stomach gruble from how beautiful it looks and smells. But knowing he is with Kim Mingyu, the man is already taking a year’s worth of food-Instagram worthy photos before they could eat.

Wonwoo pouts. “Can I eat now?”

“Not yet.” Mingyu says but Wonwoo pouts harder because he knows Kim Mingyu cannot resist his pout so the man sighs. “Okay, let’s eat.” He says, reaching over to slice Wonwoo’s pasta into smaller parts for him. “Enjoy.”

Wonwoo grins. “Thank you~”

Mingyu pays for dinner as per usual because “when you’re with me, you don’t have to pay for anything.” Those are Kim Mingyu’s exact words for Jeon Wonwoo and who is he to deny free food?

“Where should we go next?” Mingyu asks when they exit the restaurant. “Should we go to a bar?”

Wonwoo grins. Mingyu always has a second stomach for late night drinking even after they had a full dinner. But lucky for Wonwoo, he likes that trait of Mingyu’s and he likes his late night drinking just as much as he does. “Lead the way.”

It is a small pub where Mingyu goes often with his friends. Secluded in a smaller street where there aren’t as many people or tourists, Wonwoo already likes the quiet ambience and atmosphere as Mingyu greets the bartender with such familiarity. “Whiskey on the rocks and a Gin & Tonic, please.” The bartender makes it just as quickly as Mingyu orders it and he thanks him as the gin gets slid to Wonwoo’s direction. “One gin and tonic for a classy guy like Jeon Wonwoo.”

“And one whiskey on the rocks for a gentleman as yourself,” Wonwoo replies, gently tapping his glass against Mingyu’s before taking a sip. “So, tell me about the Jaehyun on the balcony story.”

Mingyu chuckles. “Long story short, he got drunk and walked down the fire escape to two floors below and knocked out asleep on someone's balcony and totally embarrassed himself. Turns out that someone is apparently cute and exactly Jaehyun’s type and goes to our university so now he is avoiding his problems and embarrassment by not bumping into the guy at any given chance.”

“Oh wow,” Wonwoo replies as he sips his drink. “Wait, the guy goes to our university? Do we know him?”

Mingyu shakes his head. “No idea. Jaehyun isn’t telling us a single thing. The only other person who knows is Johnny…which means now we have to go to his party to see the guy who has Jaehyun tripping over his feet.”

Wonwoo grins. “I want to meet him too. It’s not everyday that you get to see Jeong Jaehyun so flustered over someone.”

“Exactly. He can be very dorky sometimes.” Mingyu says, tapping Wonwoo’s glass again before drinking. “Anyways, enough of that. Jihoon texted me that you had something to ask me?”

Wonwoo had almost forgotten the whole babygirl agenda question and debates on whether to ask anyways. He just sips his drink for a moment and hums. “No, it’s nothing important.” He eventually says because something inside his mind is telling him to solve this question without directly asking for the answer. He blames it on his challenge-fulfilling brain. But that does not stop Mingyu to stare at him suspiciously and Wonwoo laughs. “I’m serious, it’s nothing.”

“Okay…whatever you say.” Mingyu replies through his glass though he still sounds unconvinced which causes Wonwoo to laugh again.

They leave the pub after a second round of drinks when it starts to get late and both have morning classes the next day. Mingyu always walks Wonwoo back to his dorm even though his apartment is far from where he lives but it never stopped Mingyu to bring him back safe and sound.

“It’s getting colder now.” Wonwoo comments as they are walking through the night. He feels a small shiver run against his arms that causes the goosebumps on his skin.

“We’re nearing the end of October,” Mingyu states as a matter of factly as he simply just unfolds his jacket and covers it over Wonwoo’s shoulders. “You should know to dress warmer.” He says and stares at the way Wonwoo gives him an endearing pout with the biggest doe eyes. “What are you acting cute for?”

“I like it when you give me your jacket.” Wonwoo teases, hugging the makeshift blanket to prove his point. “But yeah, you’re right. I didn’t expect it to get cold this fast.”

Mingyu huffs. “What would you do without me?”

Wonwoo rolls his eyes. “Please, I’m not a baby.”

They arrive in front of Wonwoo’s dorm and Mingyu tells him to keep the jacket which is great because Wonwoo was not going to give it back anyways. It’s adding onto the pile of other jackets and sweaters that he had borrowed from his friend with the intention of not giving it back. “Let’s go shopping for our Halloween costumes tomorrow.” Mingyu says and opens his arms for an expecting hug they do every time they part.

Wonwoo nods and shuffles his way into Mingyu’s embrace, snuggling into his strong neck and feeling the muscular build against his own. “You’re so warm.” Wonwoo comments into Mingyu’s chest.

“Working out builds muscles for warmth.” Mingyu replies with a chuckle and they part with grins on their faces. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Wonwoo nods. “See you tomorrow.” He closes the door behind him and swaps his shoes out with his slippers. In the kitchen, he sees Jihoon sitting at the dining table with notes spread all across. The boy looks up to see Wonwoo walking inside and gives him a gentle smile as a greeting.

“Nice jacket.” Jihoon says.

Wonwoo clears his throat. “Thanks. Mingyu gave it to me.”

“He gave it to you or he lent it to you?”

“Is there a difference?”

“For you, probably not.” Jihoon chuckles. “So, did our little babygirl Wonwoo finally get his answers yet?” He asks and Wonwoo shakes his head. Jihoon cocks an eyebrow. “Oh? You didn’t ask him?”

“No, I’m going to find this out myself without asking him.” Wonwoo answers. “I like challenges.”

Jihoon laughs. “You’re making this bigger than it should be and I love this for you.”

That night Wonwoo decided to explore the wondrous internet for answers. He lays in bed in his dark room as he questions Google “what is a babygirl?” He asks and when google doesn’t help (not even urban dictionary) he resorts to twitter which fortunately he finds a whole thread of what it means to be a babygirl.

What makes you a babygirl:

  1. Makes men do things for you
  2. Blushes and giggles for no reason
  3. Manipulative
  4. Sends semi nods unprompted
  5. Meows at random times
  6. Needy and vocal about it

Wonwoo puts his phone away and stares up at the ceiling through the darkness of his room as his mind goes down the list of babygirlism. Mingyu does things for him but it’s not like Wonwoo asked him to anytime. He certainly does not blush and giggle, that’s a lie (it’s not a lie). Manipulative, yes and he is proud of it. Semi nude? Also yes. Meowing comes from him as a cat person. No, he is not needy and vocal about anything.

He frowns. These are such normal things, how are they considered conditions of a babygirl?

🌙🌙🌙

The Halloween spirit shops have the tackiest costumes and Wonwoo is starting to feel nauseous breathing in the plastic smell in the air after being in these shops for so long. Mingyu is feeling the same way because this is the fourth shop they’ve been to and neither of them have yet to purchase anything to remotely add to their already simple costumes.

“I’m tired.” Wonwoo whines, low key regretting staying all night to study his current mission rather than actually catching up on sleep. “Mingyu, I’m hungry.”

“Just a second,” Mingyu replies, still rummaging through the stack of costumes for anything that has potential. Mingyu ignoring him means it’s time for Wonwoo to pout and like a chemical reaction, Mingyu looks at him with a strong look in his eyes. “Okay princess, no need to whine.” He says and Wonwoo rolls his eyes at the nickname. Mingyu chuckles. “Here, try this on.” He hands Wonwoo a pair of cat ears and a black collar with a silver bell chiming in the center of it. “It’ll fit your kitty costume.”

Wonwoo looks at the collar and then goes back to Mingyu. “Put it on me.” He says which Mingyu complies right away, sliding his large hands around Wonwoo’s neck until he has the collar fully attached. “How do I look?” Wonwoo asks with doe eyes.

Mingyu examines him with a hum and nods. “Cute,” he says, finger reaching to dingle the single bell and Wonwoo grins.

“Meow,” Wonwoo suddenly says, reaching his arms to paw at Mingyu’s chest.

The younger man laughs. “At least we got something out of this trip.”

Mingyu ends up buying nothing but the collar for Wonwoo which is crazy because how difficult could it be to dress up as a basic werewolf? “Hey,” Wonwoo calls, tugging on Mingyu’s sleeve when he stops in front of a clothing store. “Let’s get you that.” He points to the long black and grey fur coat on the display and the idea goes off in his head.

It fits perfectly on Mingyu and it’s reasonably priced, and on top of that they found a cat with two pointy towers that look like ears. “They look like cat ears,” Mingyu says.

“True, but you’re wearing it for your costume.”

Wonwoo is glad this day is not a total waste. Sure he has not gotten his full outfit ready but having a pair of cat ears and a random kitten collar is enough to build on it. He already has a vision on what he wants to wear for the one day of the year anyways.

“So what are you going to wear?” Mingyu asks but Wonwoo only grins.

“You’ll have to wait and see.”

🌙🌙🌙

The crop top shows off Wonwoo’s waist perfectly. He may not have the same build as Mingyu but he is quite proud of his own set of hard abs and broad chest. His arms also look great when he’s wearing sleeveless tops and tonight Wonwoo would say if he were anyone else, he would find himself absolutely desirable.

Spread in a large white text on the crop top, it says ‘Daddy’s Little Kitten,’ very fitting to his costume but concerning because he got this shirt from Minghao’s closet. He pairs it with his tight leather pants that he bought a year ago but never wore until now. It wraps around his waist nicely and shows off his long legs. Whiskers and a cute little black heart is drawn on his cheeks and on the tip of his nose before finally finishing his look with the black cat ears and bell collar.

“Wow, someone really got dressed up.” Jihoon comes into his room dressed in his makeshift witch look that he barely put any effort in since he’s going to the party for the booze anyways. “Are you trying to get someone’s attention or something?”

“Correction, I’m going to get everyone’s attention.” Wonwoo replies with a sharp point of his finger. “Now come on let’s go otherwise we’ll be late.”

He’s meeting Mingyu at the party since the man is currently pregaming with his friends right now so Wonwoo is going with Jun who is dressed as a pirate, Soonyoung who is a tiger for the sixth year in a row, and Minghao who came as Chucky.

“Whoa!” Both Jun and Soonyoung’s mouth drop when they see Wonwoo walking towards them. “Daddy’s Little Kitten, come to papa!” Soonyoung shouts, the four of them laughing when Wonwoo whacks his face away. “Dude, you look like you’re trying to impress someone.”

“The Babygirlism really jumped out.” Jihoon comments.

“Wonwoo, I’m really sorry but I have an urge to be your personal bodyguard right now.”

Wonwoo rolls his eyes but laughs. “Oh, shut up.”

The walk to the party is cold considering Wonwoo’s outfit barely passes as clothing but like Minghao once said, ‘a bad bitch never gets cold.’ Speaking of Minghao, he’s been staring at Wonwoo’s waist ever since he’s arrived. “It’s so small.” Minghao says, using his hands to compare it with his own. “Do we have the same waist size?”

“Not sure but we do both have small waists. Only difference is that you have Jun who constantly grabs yours.”

Minghao laughs. “Please, as if Mingyu’s hands aren’t your personal belt.”

When he arrives at the party, leave it to Johnny Suh to blast music from ten floors up. These poor neighbors really go through it every week.

“Time for booze!” Jihoon is the first to run off the second they enter the apartment to the variety of different alcohols and drinks as Wonwoo casually strolls inside. He’s only heard of Johnny’s apartment parties but this is the first time he’s ever entered one and frankly the first impression is well deserved.

As he walks, a couple of guys and girls turn to look at Wonwoo but he doesn’t pay them any attention and leaves them to wonder who the kitten with the smokey eyes and bell collar belongs to. He searches for Mingyu throughout the crowd, surprised that there are some guys that are even taller than his friend and finally makes eye contact with him at the table doing shots. He watches the way Mingyu almost chokes midway when their eyes meet and he immediately puts down his class to make his way over. “Wonwoo!” He calls excitedly as he hugs the man. Dressed in the fur coat they bought together, Mingyu is shirtless underneath without anything but a pair of leather pants that match with Wonwoo’s and faint dark makeup on his face. He has no need for fake fangs because his real ones peek through his smile. “Fuck, you look amazing. Daddy’s Little Kitten huh?”

Wonwoo grins slyly and pokes Mingyu’s bare chest. “You don’t look that bad yourself, puppy.” He teases, grinning at Mingyu’s little lip bite.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, who do we have here?” Yugyeom and Jungkook’s voices coo from the side as they walk over. They’re both dressed as vampires and their eyes are gawking at Wonwoo’s bare waist, already drunk from their shots. “Damn Mingyu! Your little boyfriend here is looking good.”

Mingyu chuckles. “Okay, okay, chill now.” He says but the grip of Mingyu’s hand on Wonwoo’s waist feels different as Wonwoo laughs into his chest. “Come on princess, let’s get you a drink.” They leave Yugyeom and Jungkook giggling to themselves as Mingyu leads Wonwoo to the drinks and there, they meet the famous Johnny Suh dressed like a surfer dude who is making the drinks.

“Oh hey, Mingyu and–“ Johnny pauses for a moment. “Whoa hey, never met you before. What’s your name, pretty?”

“This is my friend Wonwoo,” Mingyu introduces him instead. “Can you make him a vodka cranberry?”

“One vodka cranberry, coming right up.” Johnny smiles, his lips turning at the corner like an actual cat and now Wonwoo understands why everyone who has ever met him said the man looks like an actual god. “Here you go, Wonwoo, enjoy the party!”

There is a slight blush on Wonwoo’s cheeks as he accepts the drinks. “Thanks!” He smiles before once again led away by the hand on his waist.

“Are you not cold?” Mingyu whispers closely into Wonwoo’s ear.

The older man shakes his head as he sips his drink. “Not really. It was cold walking on the way but it’s warm here.” He replies and Mingyu nods, drinking his beer when he’s satisfied with Wonwoo’s answer. He watches as Mingyu looks to the side and there is a smile on his lips.

“Look over there.” Mingyu says and Wonwoo follows his direction to see no other than Jeong Jaehyun dressed as Prince Eric from the Little Mermaid out in the balcony making out with someone in a playboy bunny outfit. “That’s the boy whose balcony Jaehyun fell drunk on. Wow, and now they’re going at it like rabbits; pun intended.”

Wonwoo squints his eyes at the playboy bunny. “Oh, I know him.” He says and Mingyu stares at him with shock.

“You do?”

“Yeah, That’s Kim Doyoung. We were seatmates back in Literature History sophomore year.”

Mingyu blinks. “Oh. Small world.”

Wonwoo laughs. “I can’t believe that happened but good for him.” He says and puts down his now empty drinks that he chugged within seconds so he can grab Mingyu’s hands and lead him to the dance floor. “Come on, let’s dance.” He guides Mingyu’s hands to rest them on his hips and giggles at Mingyu’s eyebrow wiggle from the invitation as they pressed together dancing.

Wonwoo has his back against Mingyu’s front and smiles when his friend grins into his neck. He grinds onto Mingyu and feels the grip on his waist tighten, lowkey loving the way Mingyu is holding him. From the side, they can hear Jungkook and Yugyeom cheering loudly for the werewolf-kitty duo.

They dance for what feels like hours until Wonwoo finally gets tired and Mingyu gets pulled away with his friends for another round of shots so Wonwoo makes his way to grab another drink and sees Johnny smiling at him. “Another drink?” He asks and Wonwoo nods, smiling back. “So you’re the famous Kim Mingyu’s babygirl everyone has been talking about.”

Wonwoo raises a brow in question to Johnny’s statement. “What do you mean?”

Johnny smirks and makes himself a drink that he cheers with Wonwoo. “It means I’ll feel scared for anyone who tries to snatch you up for themselves without knowing they’ll have to deal with Kim Mingyu.” It takes a moment for Wonwoo to realize what Johnny is saying when he is so close to his face that he can see the orbs within Johnny’s feline eyes before he feels a strong arm rip him away.

“Johnny! I’m here for another drink!” Mingyu cheers loudly as he holds Wonwoo close. He must be getting tipsy because Wonwoo can feel the large palm on one of his buttcheeks and he’s not even questioning it, not when Mingyu is smiling down at him with such a dreamy smile. “Miss me, my favorite babygirl?”

Wonwoo returns the same smile and proceeds to wrap his hands around Mingyu’s neck as he lets his body press up against the taller man. The bell around his collar chimes between them. “Missed you so much, daddy.” He’s clearly drunk because he’s never called anyone that word but at this point who cares.

Mingyu registers the word and laughs loudly as if he loves everything about it. “God, you’re going to be the death of me.” He says, leading themselves back on the dance floor.

The night is cold when Wonwoo exits the building. He’s finally sobered up after what seemed like a thousand shots in a row. Thank goodness he knows how to handle his alcohol otherwise he could be passed out on the streets right now.

“You’re shivering.” Wonwoo hears Mingyu say as he covers him with the fur coat. Before he could protest that Mingyu could get a cold, the man stops him. “I’ve been wearing that fur coat for hours, trust me, I need the cold right now.” He says with a reassuring smile and Wonwoo giggles.

“Walk me home?” He asks.

Mingyu nods. “Of course.”

The walk is quiet because his feet are aching inside his black boots. He may look sexy as well right now but it certainly comes with a cost in aches and sore legs. Plus, even though Wonwoo has sobered up enough, he feels if he speaks just a little, the last round of shots might just come back up. But he needs to speak because he has had the same question flying around his mind for days now.

“Did you mean it?”

Mingyu looks down at him. “Mean what?”

“That I’m your favorite babygirl?” Wonwoo asks, turning to look up at Mingyu that causes his bell to chime in the process. “Everyone has been saying I’m such a babygirl when it comes to you.”

Mingyu smiles and leans closer to Wonwoo’s space. “Why? Do you not like it?” Wonwoo may or may not like the way Mingyu’s hand pulls his waist.

“I’m not a babygirl.” Wonwoo pouts. “What makes me one?”

Mingyu ponders. “Hm, I guess it’s the way people around you have an instinct to take care of you. Even when you’re with Seungcheol or Seokmin or even with Chan. You just kinda give off that energy to be taken care of.” He looks at Wonwoo with a smile that never fades away. “But especially with me. I love taking care of you.”

Wonwoo stops walking, causing Mingyu to stop too. He stares into the younger man’s eyes, all brave and strong and it makes Wonwoo feel some type of way. “Kiss me.” Wonwoo says in a mere whisper. It’s not a demand, but he wants Mingyu to comply anyway.

And Mingyu does. He holds Wonwoo’s waist and leans in close until their lips finally meet and it's in that moment that Wonwoo realizes that he may not understand what everyone means that he radiates babygirl energy but what he does understand is that he loves being Mingyu’s babygirl.
