Work Text:
This is just Jimin. Why is he so fucking nervous?
Jungkook takes a shaky breath, his eyes fluttering shut as he gathers his composure.
Park Jimin. His childhood friend. They grew up playing with worms in the backyard together. He is nobody to be worried about.
The breath hisses through Jungkook’s lips and he finally summons up enough courage to knock on the door in front of him. He holds his breath and waits ten seconds… then twenty, then thirty before he wonders if his parents gave him the wrong address. Or maybe Jimin is out, busy with work, school, or whatever he is up to these days.
Jungkook’s fist clenches at his side, and he stares at the brass number seven bolted to the center of the door. He could always come back another time, at a more reasonable hour. It's past five o'clock already, too late to deal with unexpected visitors. Jungkook swallows. Why couldn't he have called first like a normal person?
He takes a step back, glancing back towards the elevator at the end of the hall. He’s ready to leave when he hears a rustling from the other side of the door, followed by the sound of a lock releasing.
When the door opens, Jungkook gasps. It's undoubtedly Jimin. Jungkook could never forget his old friend’s gentle eyes, round cheeks and, of course, the pair of plush, pink lips that complete his beautiful face.
He looks just like the Jimin Jungkook remembers, but at the same time, he doesn't. This Jimin is older, his jaw more refined, chiseled. His hair is longer and blonde, and his eyes seem sharper, the innocent glisten of youth replaced by the smoldering glow of maturity.
Behind him wafts an unfamiliar fragrance, something sweet and delectable, like honeydew with the rich undertone of pistachio. He knows what it is right away.
“Jungkook!” Jimin squeals. He launches forward, engulfing Jungkook in his slender arms, and the sweet fragrance embraces Jungkook as well. The scent of Jimin. Of omega.
Jungkook can’t resist turning his head closer, the long hair that falls around Jimin’s ears bristles his nose as he breathes in deeper. The scent lingers in his nose, floating down to rest on his palate.
This is just Jimin, Jungkook reminds himself, shaking away the heat stirring in his stomach when Jimin pulls away to look up at him.
“I can't believe you’re here!” Jimin exclaims, his voice is just as sweet as the rest of him. “I was so excited when your parents told me you were moving to Seoul.”
“I know,” Jungkook says, praying that his voice doesn’t tremble. “I can't believe it either, but it's the place to go when you want to make it big.”
“Graphic design, right? I heard you're going to that big fancy art university down the street.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Jungkook nods his head, still looking down at Jimin. Jimin is just as petite as he remembers, maybe even more so now that Jungkook's height has spiked several centimeters since the last time they were together. “I have orientation next week.”
“That’s so amazing, Jungkookie,” Jimin says with a smile. He reaches for Jungkook’s hand, tugging him into the apartment. “Here, come in, tell me everything.”
Jungkook doesn't argue, following Jimin into the apartment and stepping aside as Jimin locks the door.
“I'll get you something to drink,” Jimin says. “Please make yourself at home.”
“Thanks,” Jungkook mumbles shyly, eyes following Jimin until he disappears behind the wall of the kitchen. Carefully Jungkook steps out of his shoes, lining them up with the neat rows of Jimin’s on the mat beside the front door.
He walks further into the apartment, glancing around the space. Nine hundred square feet. That's what the property website described, and the place definitely reflects that. Jungkook had done his research of the complex when he got the word Jimin is looking for a new roommate. The unit isn't tiny, but it’s a far cry from the home he grew up in. Still, it has its own charm to it.
There is a pastel yellow sofa facing the wall where the television is mounted. A low coffee table, stained a dark brown, complements the soft colors that fill the room. Beneath the furniture is an oddly-shaped rug, pastel blue and cut out like a cloud. It’s slightly over the top, slightly whimsical, but perfectly Jimin.
The dining room space is just as quaint, a compact square table with four chairs neatly nestled up to the sides, and a bowl of fruit centered on the table. Jungkook can already imagine himself having breakfast here, sharing coffee with Jimin as the warm glow from the rising sun bathes his golden skin.
“Sorry, all I have is diet,” Jimin says, approaching Jungkook from the kitchen, his arm outstretched with a glass of dark, fizzy cola.
“It's fine.” Jungkook accepts the glass with a smile. “I don't mind.”
Jimin pulls out a chair to sit at the dining table, gesturing for Jungkook to do the same. “Sit. Tell me how you've been.”
Jungkook pulls out a chair across from Jimin, settling in and resting his arms on the table. “There really isn't much to tell. Life in Busan is boring.” Jimin laughs and Jungkook feels his cheeks warm again. “I'd rather hear about what you've been up to. Are you still in school? My mom told me you transferred.”
Jimin shakes his head, bringing his drink to his mouth to take a sip before answering. Jungkook can't help but stare at the way his plush lips hug the rim of the glass.
“I’m taking online courses right now while doing some odd jobs around the neighborhood. It works better around my schedule while I'm still figuring things out.”
“Yeah, that's great, Hyung. You look like you're doing great,” Jungkook says, watching as Jimin ducks his head and waves off the compliments.
“I'm doing alright. I still love it here. That's what's important.”
Jungkook has barely spoken to Jimin since he moved here, to Seoul, three years ago. He remembers being devastated when Jimin told him the news, but made a promise to himself that he would find a way to be close to Jimin again. And Jimin couldn't look better, the glow Seoul had brought to him was different from the boy he knew in Busan.
Jimin looks happy, thriving, and just… incredible.
Jungkook can't wait to see this Jimin every day.
“So, do you already have a place up here?” Jimin asks to change the subject.
“Actually…” Jungkook begins, clearing his throat. “That's why I wanted to come see you today.”
Across the table Jimin raises his eyebrows, staring at Jungkook curiously and waiting for him to continue.
The nerves from earlier spark up inside Jungkook again and he distracts himself by clasping his hands together, elbows folded on the table, picking at the skin of his knuckles with his fingernails. “Your mom told me that you're looking for a new roommate.”
Jungkook musters up all the strength he can to glance up at Jimin after the words leave his mouth. Jimin looks surprised, leaning further back in his chair, head tilted to the side. Jungkook stares at him, but Jimin’s expression is frustratingly unreadable.
For a moment, Jimin’s eyes soften and he leans in closer, hand reaching out across the table towards Jungkook’s. “Oh, Jungkookie, I—”
A knock on the front door stops Jimin from finishing his sentence. He looks over Jungkook’s shoulder toward the entry.
“I'm sorry, just give me one moment,” Jimin apologizes, pushing back from his chair.
Jungkook feels a frown settling in over his face, watching as Jimin moves away from the table to open the door to a handsome stranger. Jungkook cranes his neck further to get a better look.
The man on the other side of the door towers over Jimin, his head of thick, dark hair visible over Jimin’s golden locks. There is too much distance between them for Jungkook to hear most of their conversation. He can hear the rumble of the stranger’s low voice, contrasting over Jimin’s light, airy one.
Then Jimin is stepping aside, letting the man inside his apartment while he excuses himself to a different room. As soon as Jimin is out of sight, the stranger locks eyes with Jungkook, his gaze dark and intimidating. Jungkook’s nose begins to tickle with subtle notes of patchouli and bitter coriander.
An alpha.
Jungkook straightens his posture, pulling his shoulders back as he locks eyes with the unfamiliar alpha. The other man’s dark lips pull into a crooked smirk, one of his brows lifting playfully.
A puff of air blows through Jungkook’s nose. He feels the hair on the back of his neck rise as they stare each other down. There is even a spike of his own scent, the faintest hint of suede mingling into the air of Jimin’s sweet-smelling apartment.
Jungkook isn't usually the type to become confrontational in the face of other alphas. In Busan, he has a ton of alpha friends–status is never an issue–but there was something about this alpha… The way his aura oozes into the room like a thick cloud makes Jungkook uneasy.
Luckily, Jimin returns quickly, a folder in his hand. Jungkook watches from the dining room as Jimin passes the folder into the alpha’s awaiting hand. His mischievous expression melts into something much softer in front of Jimin, his eyes creasing as the corner as his mouth pulls into an innocent boxy smile.
Jimin says something else to him, and Jungkook watches them carefully like that would make his words easier to hear.
“... your copy of the lease.”
“Thank you, Jimin. I'll see you real soon, okay?”
“Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.”
Jimin's head is turned away, and all Jungkook can see is the back of his head and the oversized sweater that hangs loose from his petite frame, but he can still hear the sound in his sweet voice. It's sweet enough to coax a smile from the strange alpha, who makes a point to boldly reach forward and wipe something from Jimin’s face before saying his goodbyes and leaving.
When Jimin turns around his eyes are down-turned, avoiding contact with Jungkook all together, his cheeks slightly flushed.
“Who was that?” Jungkook asks when Jimin finally makes his way back to the dining table, folding his legs underneath himself, sitting on the heels of his feet.
“That was Taehyung,” Jimin answers quietly, staring down into his half-empty glass. “My new roommate.”
“Oh.”
Jungkook feels his shoulders slump, falling back against the chair with a thud. “I didn't realize you already found someone.”
Jimin glances up at Jungkook, eyes full of remorse and concern, and Jungkook can't fathom being upset when Jimin looks at him like that. “I'm so sorry, Jungkookie,” Jimin says with a sweetness to his voice that makes Jungkook’s devastation hurt even worse. “I had no idea you were moving here or I would have held it for you.”
Jungkook tears his eyes away from Jimin’s look of guilt, feeling entirely stupid for being here right now. What was he thinking? Just a week out from orientation, only weeks away from the start of the fall semester, of course Jimin’s listing would have been taken immediately.
Jimin probably has a lot of friends he offered the room to. That guy, that alpha, is probably one of them. Jungkook should have called the moment his mother mentioned Jimin was looking for a roommate. What was he thinking coming all the way up here on his own?
“It's okay, Hyung.” Jungkook says, rubbing his hands over his thighs, fingers catching in the rips of his jeans when he reaches his knees. “I should have called you first.”
Jimin leans forward, one of his hands sliding across the surface of the table and towards Jungkook. Jungkook looks at it and wonders what he is supposed to do, what it means. Does Jimin want to touch him? Cradle his hand as he rejects him in favor of a taller, older, probably more financially-stable alpha?
Or maybe it's Jungkook. He isn't in Jimin’s life anymore, and Jungkook should have received that message loud and clear years ago when their communication slowly faded into nothing and their lives grew apart.
But Jungkook couldn't help but quietly hope that maybe Jimin had been waiting for him.
“I feel awful. I wish I could give the room to you, but I already promised Taehyung,” Jimin says and Jungkook’s gaze flickers from Jimin’s hands to his eyes. So soft, sweet, and beautiful. Eyes that Taehyung will now wake up to every morning instead of him.
“Being a single omega and trying to find a roommate is a nightmare. There were so many creepy alphas that applied,” Jimin continues when Jungkook stays quiet. “There was this one guy I caught sniffing my laundry when I went to make him a drink.”
“Taehyung is an alpha,” Jungkook states, as if Jimin doesn’t already know.
Jimin’s hand draws back a little from Jungkook, his eyes darting away. “I know, but he was the first person who applied who didn't make me immediately uncomfortable.”
Jungkook narrows his eyes at Jimin, still unsure. Jungkook doesn’t know the first thing about this Taehyung guy, other than he seems exactly like every other stereotypical alpha male type out there.
He didn't need to have a conversation with him to know the man is probably cocky and full of himself. The way he is already so comfortable being close to an unmated omega like Jimin, touching him like they were old friends. The whole idea of him sleeping in the bedroom next door to Jimin makes Jungkook’s stomach twist.
“Besides,” Jimin continues, drawing his arm back further, and tucking his hands in the long sleeves of his sweater. “I knew Taehyung already from when we had class together last semester. He is really nice and we are actually the same age.”
Jimin smiles at Jungkook like that piece of information would make the blow of rejection easier to swallow.
“I'm sure he is great,” Jungkook lies.
“I really hate this,” Jimin says with a pout. “I wish I had another bedroom I could offer to you, you know I would do anything for you.”
“It's okay, Hyung, seriously. Don't worry about it. I'll figure something out.”
“You could stay on my couch if you wanted,” Jimin suggests. “Just until you find something else available close to campus. I'll even ask Taehyung about it. I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Like I said, he is a really nice guy.”
Jungkook shakes his head. “No, you don't need to do that.” The last thing he needed was Jimin's sympathy, to look more pathetic and needy to him now. To have that creep, Taehyung, watching him as he slept on Jimin's couch because no one else wanted him.
“I'm so sorry, Jungkook,” Jimin says again, glancing down at his hands peeking out from his sleeves. “I wish you would have gotten to me sooner. You know I would have given the room to you without a second thought.”
Fuck, why did Jimin have to say that?
Did he really mean that? In an alternate timeline where Jungkook was faster, would he really be Jimin’s first choice?
“I know,” Jungkook says, looking across the table at Jimin, taking in the way he perfectly fits here. His personality, his vibrant color scheme matching the decor he filled his home with, the sweet fragrance of fruit and pistachio that would linger in Jungkook’s mind for days after this.
He really screwed this up.
⊱Ω⊰
Jungkook draws in a deep breath, holding it as he reaches to grab his toes. He holds the position for ten counts, then lets the air slowly release through his narrowly parted lips. He leans his chest down further, feeling the uncomfortable pull in his hamstrings as he stretches.
Around him, most of the gym equipment is taken. It's late and the crowd of people who have just gotten off work or out of school makes the whole place feel hot and crowded. Luckily, Jungkook is just finishing up, the back of his shirt sticking to his skin with sweat, the result of a good workout.
After another deep breath and another 10 count, Jungkook releases his legs and pulls his right one in, folding at the knee and pushing the sole of his shoe into his left thigh. He breathes in again and leans forward, reaching for his left foot with both hands, feeling the tense muscles of his leg shriek with protest.
He leans deeper into the stretch, closing his eyes to center himself, pushing through the cramping in his leg when his phone rings.
Jungkook blinks his eyes open, releasing his posture and twisting around to reach for his phone where he left it at the corner of his mat. He sucks in a sharp breath when he reads the caller ID.
Jimin.
“Hello?”
“Jungkook!” Jimin’s pleasant voice greets him on the other end of the receiver. “How are you?”
Jungkook’s brows draw in, pressing his phone closer to his ear. “I'm fine, Hyung. What's up?”
“Nothing—well, actually I was calling about the apartment situation,” Jimin says and Jungkook's heart skips a beat.
“Oh, yeah? What about it?”
“Well, I kind of mentioned your situation to Taehyung…”
Jungkook sits up straighter, the tenderness of his muscles forgotten as he listens carefully for Jimin’s next words. Maybe he was wrong for being so quickly disappointed, for thinking that he wouldn't be Jimin’s first choice for a roommate.
“You haven't already made living arrangements, have you?” Jimin asks.
“I—No, I mean I've had a few offers but I haven't officially signed anything yet,” Jungkook says, holding his breath.
"Okay good, because I wanted to tell you Taehyung's suggestion. What do you think about sharing the apartment with us?"
Jungkook’s chest deflates. "Jimin, I really appreciate the couch offer, but I can't impose on you like that—"
"No, no. It doesn't have to be temporary."
Jungkook feels the blood drain from his face, like a bucket of ice water was just poured over him. Jungkook opens his mouth to reply but can’t find words. How on earth would that work? Two alphas and one omega sharing one apartment? It sounds like a nightmare, especially with an alpha like Taehyung. Not that Jungkook knows anything about him, but what he saw was still enough to turn him off completely.
“Jungkookie?” Jimin’s gentle voice cuts through the static in Jungkook’s head. “Are you still there?”
“Yeah,” Jungkook says quietly, his shoulders slumping as he exhales a long breath of disappointment. “Yeah, Hyung, I'm still here.”
“Well then, what do you think? Are you still interested?”
Jungkook bites down on his bottom lip and squeezes his eyes shut. How is he supposed to handle this? Being Jimin’s roommate has always been his dream, since before Jimin ever presented as an omega. The entire summer, Jungkook allowed himself to fantasize over the thought of them together in one apartment.
Jimin’s soft touch, filling their shared space with flowers and pastel colors while Jungkook installed speakers in every room so they could fill their home with their favorite music. He imagined himself making dinner for Jimin, and then breakfast the next morning. Setting up the perfect space for gaming and having the warmest blankets to share as they fell asleep watching movies on the couch.
Fuck. He still wants that.
But having Taehyung in the picture would change everything.
Jungkook swallows. “Of course I'm still interested.”
“Oh, that's great news!”Jungkook can hear the smile in Jimin’s voice so clearly that he can't help but smile back. “I’ll add your name to the lease. I can text you later with the move-in details if that's alright.”
“That sounds perfect, Hyung.”
“Wonderful, I can't wait!”
“Me either,” Jungkook replies, holding the phone close until the line goes dead. As soon as the call is over, the ache in his body returns and Jungkook flops backwards on his mat. He stares at the circulating fans on the ceiling, wondering how on earth this is going to pan out.
⊱Ω⊰
At first, it’s not too bad. When Jungkook arrives bright and early with a carload of boxes, Taehyung is waiting for him outside, ready to help him move in. As they make their way back-and-forth between the car and the apartment, Taehyung tells him all about campus life, giving him pointers.
It’s… annoying. He’s too nice, too considerate, and Jungkook can’t help but be suspicious.
Maybe Taehyung is only pretending to be friendly because he knows something Jungkook doesn’t. Maybe Taehyung knew what was going to happen when they finally brought in the last of Jungkook’s boxes, closing the apartment door behind them.
“So…” Jimin says, smiling. “We need to decide where you’re sleeping, Jungkookie. I’m not letting you stay on the couch.”
Jungkook doesn’t know what Taehyung is planning, but whatever it is, Jungkook isn’t going to let it happen. “I’ll share with Taehyung,” he says quickly. “You’re the only omega–you deserve to be comfortable.”
“I was going to suggest the same thing,” Taehyung says, and the only thing that allows Jungkook to suppress the growl rumbling in his chest is Jimin’s pleased grin.
“It only makes sense for you to take the master suite, in that case.” Jimin picks up a box and leads the way, and Jungkook goes out of his way to avoid meeting Taehyung’s eyes.
It could be worse. They could be crammed together in the smallest bedroom. This way, at least, he’ll be able to keep his bed as far away from Taehyung’s as possible.
It only takes two weeks before Jungkook officially decides he hates it.
He hates Taehyung’s obnoxious, earthy scent that coats the room like a thick, musky cologne.
He hates the way Taehyung seems to have more in common with Jimin than Jungkook does.
It’s always Taehyung who chooses where they order takeout from, Taehyung who calls dibs on the first shower and uses up all the hot water, Taehyung who wants full control of the television in the evenings.
And Jungkook hates it. Hates it.
Worst of all, Jimin seems oblivious to all of it. He treats Taehyung like an alpha, deferring to him no matter what he suggests. And it’s no wonder–Taehyung practically drenches every corner of the apartment in his pheromones.
Meanwhile, Jungkook is just… Jungkook. Nothing more than Jimin’s childhood friend. Jimin still dotes on him, and as much as Jungkook likes the attention, he wants more. He wants Jimin to see him as a man. An alpha.
He doesn’t even get to provide for Jimin in the ways he dreamed of. Instead of making breakfast for Jimin and listening to music as they watch the sun rise, Jungkook has to watch as Taehyung squishes scrambled eggs between two burnt pieces of toast and shoves it into Jimin’s hands.
And Jimin seems to love it, sitting perched on the counter and giggling, and swinging his legs as he munches on the sandwich while Taehyung blasts his dreadful saxophone music.
Jungkook does his best to tune them out. Even now, he shoves his noise-canceling earbuds deep into his ears and flips open his laptop to finish the essay that is due in a few hours. The mellow, lofi tunes work and eventually Jungkook forgets that Jimin and Taehyung are even home.
It isn’t until the sun is setting and the room becomes darker that Jimin saunters over and gently presses Jungkook’s laptop closed with the tips of his petite fingers.
“Hey nerd, you've been working for hours. I think it's time for a break.” His voice is muffled through the music.
Jungkook groans, removing the earbuds and rubbing at his eyes, burning now that the bright light from his screen is suddenly gone. “Hyung, I just need a few more minutes. I'm almost done.”
“You need to eat,” Jimin argues, hauling himself up to sit on the edge of the dining room table beside Jungkook’s laptop. “I'll make you something.”
Jungkook glances up at Jimin, who still has yet to change out of his pajamas from this morning, blonde hair tied up in a tiny bun on the top of his head. “You don't have to do that.”
“I don't mind,” Jimin says with a shrug. He smiles. “I'm getting hungry too. We could share some ramen?”
A rumble roars its way through Jungkook’s stomach at the thought. “Ramen does sound really good…”
“Then I'll heat up some water.”
“I just need to submit this, and I'll meet you in the kitchen.”
Jimin only replies with a hum, sliding off the table and leaving Jungkook alone to finish his work. It doesn't take long to wrap up his essay and Jungkook joins Jimin in the kitchen as he is cracking eggs into the boiling water, the smell of spicy chicken overtaking his scenes.
“It smells amazing,” Jungkook says, pulling out one of the barstools to sit up to the counter, eyes following Jimin as he reaches for a pair of chopsticks to break apart the noodles in the steaming pan.
“You know spicy ramen is my specialty,” Jimin teases, reaching across the stove to lower the heat. “It's the only thing that's kept me alive since I've been on my own.”
“You know I could cook for you, Hyung,” Jungkook suggests, pulling his shoulders back to sit up straighter.
Jimin flashes him a playful glance before pulling two bowls down from the cupboard. “Really? Has my little Jungkookie grown into a chef?”
Jungkook huffs, keeping his posture tall, shoulders wide. “You know I'm not little anymore, right? I'll be twenty next fall.”
Jimin laughs, and it sounds so sweet that Jungkook can't even bring himself to be annoyed by it. “I know that.” He pulls the pan off the stove and serves them up each a healthy portion of ramen, joining Jungkook at the counter with their bowls. “I'm actually really proud of how well you've grown up.”
Jungkook wants it to be a compliment. He wants it to mean more than what Jimin is probably implying. “You are?”
“I am. I mean, look at you,” Jimin says, passing Jungkook a pair of chopsticks. “Here you are all on your own, an art student, pursuing your dreams. That's amazing, Jungkook.”
Jungkook feels warmth rush to his cheeks and he averts his eyes, poking apart the soft boiled egg floating in his bowl. “You're amazing, too,” he says quietly. “You've already accomplished so many things.”
Jimin shrugs, shoving noodles into his mouth. “Barely.”
“No really–the fact that you even have a place like this is amazing. I'm still grateful you are letting me stay here.”
Jimin lowers his chopsticks, glancing over at Jungkook. “You still like it? I was worried that having to share a room with Taehyung would eventually start to bother you.”
Jungkook shrugs. “He’s alright.”
“You don't like him, do you?”
“I didn't say that—”
“Jungkookie…”
Jungkook groans, feeling his shoulder slump as he rests his elbows on the countertop. “He can just be intense sometimes, but I think it's just an alpha thing. I get it.”
“If he is bothering you, I can talk to him,” Jimin suggests.
Jungkook shakes his head. “No, no–you don't need to do that. It's fine. I can deal with it.”
“Well, if he ever does bother you, let me know.”
Jungkook glances up at Jimin, watching as he takes another bite of ramen. He slurps the noodle through his puckered lips and Jungkook wonders how it's even possible to find the action so endearing.
“You and Taehyung are pretty close, I guess,” Jungkook says, eyes watching Jimin as he brings his napkin to his face to dab at the corner of his mouth.
“We have a lot in common,” Jimin answers, looking over at Jungkook. “He is really nice.”
Jungkook’s lips pull into a tight line as he nods his head, looking back to his half eaten dinner. “Are you two, like…” He stumbles over his words, clearing his throat as he starts over. “Are you together?”
Jimin laughs. “What gave you that idea?”
Jungkook feels unease prickle down his spine, his shoulders arching as his elbows draw closer together. “He’s just–all over you.” He glances back at Jimin. “Haven't you noticed?”
Jimin shakes his head. “He’s really sweet, but we are just friends.”
“Because if you were together, that's okay, too,” Jungkook adds quickly. “What I mean is—I don't care if you are. I was just curious.”
“Is my little Jungkookie worried about me?” Jimin teases, raising his hand to playfully pinch at Jungkook’s cheeks.
Jungkook groans and nudges Jimin's hand away. “Stop calling me that.”
“What? Are you too old for nicknames now?” Jimin’s hand falls away, his sweet honeydew scent fading with it. Jungkook’s stomach twists, frustration swelling in his chest. Why did Jimin have to be so oblivious?
“I'm not little anymore, Hyung,” Jungkook says, voice firm, pushing his stool back from the counter and standing. “I have to finish my homework.”
Jimin catches his hand before he manages to escape the kitchen. Jungkook looks at him, takes in Jimin’s wide, sparkling eyes and gentle face, fighting the urge to squeeze Jimin’s warm, tiny palm. “Thank you for caring, Jungkook, but I’m okay.”
Jungkook nods and Jimin drops his hand, turning back to the counter to collect their bowls. Guilt builds in Jungkook’s stomach. He should be the one cleaning up after Jimin, taking care of him, but suddenly the distance between them feels too far. Instead, Jungkook finds himself crawling into bed early, lying awake and staring at his phone, wondering if he will ever be alpha enough to confess to Jimin that he wants more.
⊱Ω⊰
The fall semester carries on peacefully. Jungkook likes school, likes the people he meets, the life he is slowly starting to build here. Even things at home get easier. Taehyung starts working more, which means he isn’t home as often, but game night has become a regular thing. On weeknights when they are all home together, Jimin will whip out some new game he found at the local bookstore. Sometimes it's just a pack of regular playing cards, and sometimes he brings home some sort of dirty variation of cards against humanity.
No matter what, they always end up having a decent time and Jungkook can almost forget his irritation with Taehyung. They trade off on who supplies the drinks, and tonight it was Taehyung, which meant they’re huddled around the coffee table with full glasses of red wine.
Taehyung and Jimin are experts at handling their booze. Jimin especially–Jungkook doesn’t know how he does it. The omega could finish off an entire six-pack and barely miss a beat. Jungkook, however, is struggling to stay awake after finishing his third glass of wine.
They continue the game anyway, until Jungkook is slumping over the table, lost to the set of rules Jimin made up.
He must pass out, because he opens his eyes to find the living room completely dark and he has a blanket thrown over him. It’s then that he realizes he’s on the couch, and he wonders who was forced to move him. Jungkook’s head rushes when he tries to move and an uncomfortable dryness in his mouth makes him desperate for water.
He drags his hand out from underneath the warmth of the blanket and brings it to his face to rub over his heavy eyes. He groans and slowly turns over onto his back when the sound of silverware clattering to the tile of the kitchen floor shocks him fully awake.
Jungkook's head shoots up, and he blinks through the darkness towards the kitchen. The dim light from underneath their mounted microwave illuminates two shadowy figures.
“Shit, be careful,” he hears Jimin whisper. Jungkook narrows his eyes, making out Taehyung crowding Jimin against the kitchen counter, his tall frame towering over Jimin’s petite shoulders.
“I can't,” Taehyung's low voice rumbles through the silent room. “You make me so crazy.”
Jungkook’s heart kicks into gear, racing furiously despite the heavy cloud of sleep anchoring his body to the couch. He shifts again, bracing his palms on the cushions so he can shove himself up and rescue Jimin from Taehyung’s unwanted advances, but the gentle sound of Jimin giggling brings him to a halt.
“I do?” Jimin asks in a sultry voice, then Taehyung is being pulled closer. “Tell me about it.”
“I'd rather show you,” Taehyung says, voice sounding more like a growl than a whisper. The racing of Jungkook’s heart is now throbbing inside his head, pounding so loud it drowns out the sound of Jimin’s laughter.
He holds his breath, watching as the shadowy figures of his roommates move closer until their lips meet. Jimin’s hands reach up to tangle into the mess of Taehyung’s curls while Taehyung holds him firm by the waist.
The sound of their lips smacking together fills the silence and Jungkook has to squeeze his eyes shut, like that would make the vision branded in his brain disappear. Like, the next time he opens his eyes, he will realize this is all a dream, and he has been in his bed this whole time.
But when he opens his eyes, Taehyung is lifting Jimin up to the countertop and moving closer. Jungkook almost feels himself start to panic, his chest tightening, the fog of the wine left in his system swirling inside his head.
He almost wants to cry. Wants to lose it.
Why him?
What did Taehyung have that Jungkook didn't? What did Jimin see in him that he couldn't find in Jungkook?
Was Jungkook not alpha enough? Not attractive enough? Not worthy enough?
Jungkook had spent years pining over Jimin, and he knew it was his own fault. He should have reached out more, should have come clean to Jimin long ago, and maybe it would be him in Jimin’s arms right now instead of some other alpha.
Maybe Jungkook was too late, and he had already lost Jimin. Or maybe Jimin never would have wanted him in the first place.
Jungkook closes his eyes again, feeling sweat seeping through his clothes, blood boiling beneath his skin and he hopes neither Jimin or Taehyung could smell his unrest. He pulls the blanket further over himself, burying his head in the darkness of the thick sherpa, but it didn’t make the sound of the kisses any harder to hear.
⊱Ω⊰
It's a Friday night, and Jimin and Jungkook have the apartment to themselves. They rarely get alone time on weekends, but Taehyung has some friends visiting from out of town and will probably be with them until the early hours of the morning.
A part of Jungkook finds it difficult to be around Jimin after that night he caught him kissing Taehyung. It wasn't that he was avoiding him, it's just that he can’t look at him without seeing Taehyung's arms wrapped around him. But it's not like anything changed. Jimin didn’t act any different, and neither did Taehyung.
They went about their lives like normal and Jungkook hasn’t caught them in each other’s arms since. But that didn't stop him from being overly aware of everything they did. Sometimes Jungkook would find Jimin in the kitchen with the vague scent of patchouli clinging to him. But that wasn't as bad as the lingering touches that Taehyung left on Jimin.
The way his hand would engulf Jimin’s when he slid him a cup of tea or passed him the remote. The way Taehyung would squeeze Jimin's shoulder an extra time before he left for work. Everything makes Jungkook feel like a third wheel, an intruder in the apartment that Jimin and Taehyung share.
Even tonight, as Jimin bumped his shoulder against Jungkook’s while they battled in an intense round of Mario Kart, Jungkook couldn't ignore Taehyung's large, argyle sweater hanging off Jimin’s narrow shoulders.
Jungkook could barely focus on the game, or Jimin’s playful cheering when he won the race.
“Come on Jungkook, are you even trying?” Jimin taunts, leaning closer to flick his finger against Jungkook’s forehead.
Jungkook squeezes his eyes shut and presses his back further into the couch cushions. He takes a deep breath, Jimin’s sweet scent tingling his nose and making the knot in his stomach pull tighter. When he opens his eyes again, he just vaguely focuses on the colorful scores on the screen.
“I'm just tired, Hyung,” he says, glancing down at the controller in his hand.
“Ah, poor university student,” Jimin hums, leaning even closer to rest his head on Jungkook’s shoulder. “Up too late and working too hard.”
“It's 3am, Hyung. Shouldn't you be tired too?”
Jimin reaches forward, grabbing his bottle of beer around the neck and brings it to his lips to take a swig. Jungkook glances over, watching Jimin’s throat dip as he swallows down the amber liquid. Jimin lowers the bottle and shakes his head. “You know me, I'm a nightowl.”
“I don't know how you do it,” Jungkook says, frowning. “Don't you have work in the morning?”
Jimin nods, bringing his sweater covered hand up to stifle a yawn. “Not until 10. And I usually end up napping after work, anyway.”
Jungkook reaches to take the bottle from Jimin’s hand and returns it to the table, taking a sip along the way despite his drowsiness. “Well, I’ll do one more round and then I'm done.”
Jimin makes a face, squeezing one eye shut and shoving his tongue out at Jungkook before picking up his controller. “You're on.”
One round turns into four after Jungkook picks up a second wind, finally on a winning streak as Jimin slowly succumbs to his own exhaustion. His head falls heavily on Jungkook’s shoulder, cushioned by a plump cheek.
“Hyung,” Jungkook starts, the gentle puffs of air from Jimin's nose spreading warmth across his collar.
“Hmm?”
“What am I to you?”
The question has been burning into Jungkook's mind for weeks, maybe longer. Every time Jimin pinches his cheeks or affectionately calls him names, Jungkook's heart burns.
“What?” Jimin asks.
Jungkook squirms a little, wanting to puff his chest out and straighten his shoulders, appear more like an alpha so Jimin will take him seriously. But the heavy weight of Jimin against his side keeps him frozen in place.
“Am I—” Jungkook hesitates, biting the inside of his cheek, looking at anything but Jimin. “Am I just your dongsaeng?”
As soon as the words leave his mouth, Jungkook wishes the couch cushions would swallow him whole, strangle him for sounding like every sad, cliche character in TV dramas. It's ridiculous really, mostly because Jungkook already knows Jimin’s answer.
Maybe it's just something sick and twisted inside Jungkook’s mind that needs to be formally rejected before he can move on. He needs to hear it from Jimin directly so he can stop fooling himself into thinking he has a chance.
“Jungkookie,” Jimin says softly, sounding half asleep, and Jungkook has to hold himself back from cringing at the nickname. “You'll always be my dongsaeng.”
If Jungkook had the energy to cry, he would. The room feels so still that he can almost feel his heart crack, like Jimin has driven a blunt sword into it. He wants to ask why. He wants to know why he isn't enough, but at the same time, he doesn't.
Maybe there’s something else about him that repulses Jimin, something he is completely unaware of. He doesn’t want to give himself something new to obsess over, so he bites down on his bottom lip and nods.
The room is silent, aside from the looping title screen of their video game playing in the background. Jungkook almost wants to excuse himself to bed, but that would mean moving away from Jimin’s warm body pressed to his.
“What am I to you?” Jimin asks, his voice sounding so innocent and harmless that Jungkook wonders why it makes him nervous.
“Hyung,” Jungkook begins, voice shaky, “I can’t even explain everything that you are to me.”
Jimin hums and Jungkook wonders if he fell asleep, but then he shifts, lowering himself down onto the couch and rests his head on Jungkook’s lap. He blinks up at Jungkook, his blond hair falling away from his face creating a golden halo.
“Jungkookie,” Jimin says again, and Jungkook can't tell if Jimin is mocking him or not. He looks away, but Jimin reaches for his face to draw his attention back to him. “Tell me.”
Heat burns down the back of Jungkook’s neck, reaching down through his spine until he can feel sweat trickling over his skin. He looks down at Jimin, something so easily done but so painful. And maybe this is it. He can just end everything now and finally get this over with.
“Jimin,” Jungkook says, testing the waters to make sure his voice is strong enough to speak. “I want to be more than your dongsaeng.”
Jimin sits up then, moving to kneel beside Jungkook on the couch. “You want to be more than my dongsaeng?”
Jungkook looks at him, a sudden wave of courage flooding his veins. It’s like a centuries old instinct takes hold of his body, encouraging him to be brave, to take what he wants. “I want to be your alpha,” Jungkook says. Jimin's eyes widen.
He reaches forward to take Jungkook’s face into his delicate hands. “You want to be Hyung’s alpha?”
“I do,” Jungkook says, and he feels a rush admitting it, confessing to the burden he has carried for too long. He circles his fingers around one of Jimin’s wrists to hold onto him. “I would be such a good alpha for you.”
“You would?” Jimin asks, eyes softening.
Jungkook feels himself nodding. “I would.” Jimin smiles and Jungkook continues, “I would take good care of you, make sure you never feel lonely.”
“Do you think I'm lonely?” Jimin asks and Jungkook’s jaw tightens. No, he doesn’t think Jimin is lonely, not when he can still smell Taehyung’s scent clinging to him.
“I think you deserve more,” Jungkook says instead. Realistically, he isn't sure what he can offer Jimin that Taehyung can’t, but he knows he would cherish Jimin. Would make sure he felt every ounce of love and respect he deserved. He wanted to show Jimin that he could be more than just a good alpha, he can be a good mate.
“What more would you give me?”
“I’d give you whatever you want,” Jungkook says, voice hushed, just for Jimin's ears.
Jimin moves closer. “What if I want a kiss?”
Jungkook doesn't give himself time to think of an answer before he moves forward to crash his lips into Jimin’s.
A gentle sound of surprise bubbles up from Jimin’s throat when Jungkook presses closer, but it melts into a delighted hum as Jungkook tilts his head, coaxing Jimin’s lips apart with his tongue.
Jimin’s lips are smooth and languid, surrendering to Jungkook as he dissolves under his touch. And Jungkook has never had a kiss like this, one that he has carved for so long, one that makes his stomach explode with fireworks.
Beyond the awkward tension and years of pining, Jimin’s lips are like heaven. A place too good to find on earth, unimaginable until now, leaving Jungkook with the sweetness of fresh fruit and richness of pistachio tingling his tongue.
Jungkook reaches forward, pulling Jimin back into his lap. This time Jimin straddles him, thighs spread wide on either side of Jungkook’s legs as he lifts himself into the kiss, arms snaking around Jungkook’s neck and holding him closer.
For a moment, Jungkook wonders if Jimin has been wanting this, too. If this is something he ever imagined during their long friendship, or during their time as roommates.
Maybe Jimin has been holding out, waiting for Jungkook to say something, make a move. Maybe that's what he needed, because now, holding Jimin in his arms, Jungkook has never felt something so right. So perfect.
Jimin breaks the kiss to catch his breath, panting as if he just finished a workout. Jimin’s body is hot and sweaty in the circle of Jungkook’s arms, and Jungkook fights the urge to lean in and inhale his scent.
Jimin blinks at him, hesitating for a moment, lips parted like he’s going to say something. Instead, he dives back in, slotting his lips against Jungkook’s like he is just as desperate for this as Jungkook is.
Everything seems to melt away—the living room, the apartment, the approaching sunrise. The only thing that exists is Jimin's lips on his, warm and insistent, and their mingled scents.
In an instant, Jimin rips away from him, the sound of the door slamming closed forcing Jungkook back to cold, harsh reality. He manages to drag his eyes away from Jimin long enough to find Taehyung standing in front of the door, staring at them.
The alpha in Jungkook wants to pull Jimin closer, kiss him harder, forcing Taehyung to watch and know he has lost. Before he can do anything, Jimin crawls off his lap.
“I should go to bed,” he whispers to Jungkook, patting him once on the shoulder before disappearing to his room.
Taehyung stays at the entryway, glaring at Jungkook like he wants to rip his head off. Jungkook half-expects him to, body tensing and prepared to jump the second Taehyung lunges.
To his surprise, Taehyung says nothing, doesn’t approach Jungkook or follow after Jimin. Instead, he makes his way towards their shared bedroom, where he promptly closes the door after entering.
Jungkook takes the hint.
He looks around, taking in the mess of beer and snacks he and Jimin had left scattered around the room, the title screen still looping in the background. Jungkook’s clothes are a rumpled mess, but Jimin’s scent still clings to them, and that makes it all worth it, even when he settles onto the couch to sleep.
He will deal with the fallout in the morning. Right now, he wants to dream of Jimin’s lips on his and hope that he will get to feel them again soon.
⊱Ω⊰
The couch is too short for Jungkook to properly stretch out on, leaving him switching between curling his legs up until his knees ache or extending them over the armrest. The cushions are lumpy, too soft and firm in all the wrong places, but Jungkook barely pays any attention to his stiff neck or tingling limbs because his mind is still full of Jimin.
It’s as if years of stress and anxiety were suddenly plucked from his mind, leaving him refreshed, renewed. After all these years, he finally has a chance. Jimin can still be his.
He wakes up early. The sun beams through the translucent peach curtains, which do nothing to block the sun but add a warm, inviting glow to the room.
Jungkook makes his way to the kitchen, where he pulls down the ingredients for Jimin’s favorite breakfast: pancakes. It's simple enough, and in less than fifteen minutes, Jungkook is flipping the first fluffy cake onto a plate.
It's the smell of freshly brewed coffee that finally drags Jimin out of bed, padding out of his room with messy hair and puffy eyes. Jungkook is relieved to see that Jimin had changed out of Taehyung’s dreadful sweater and instead replaced it with a light blue pajama top.
Maybe he should let Jimin borrow some of his clothes to sleep in. Maybe Jungkook’s scent could be as comforting to Jimin as Jimin’s is to him.
“That smells good, Jungkookie,” Jimin says with a scratchy voice, running his hands through his hair to brush it away from his forehead.
“Sit down. I’ll make you a plate,” Jungkook offers, and Jimin shoots him a curious glance before wandering over to the dining room table.
“I'm picky about my coffee,” Jimin says once he is seated.
Jungkook huffs a laugh as he ladles more batter onto the hot skillet. “No cream with a pinch of sugar. I know how you like your coffee.”
From behind he can hear Jimin hum. “You really would make a good alpha for me.”
Heat rushes to Jungkook's cheeks at the words. It's not that he expected Jimin to forget everything that happened between them last night, but to be reminded of it so soon made a spike of nervousness curl into Jungkook’s gut.
Still, he wants to be strong, be a good alpha even if Jimin is only teasing him.
“I told you I can take good care of you,” Jungkook says, moving away from the stove to grab a mug for Jimin.
“And I never doubted you, but it will be fun to watch you prove it to me.”
Jimin isn't an omega that would roll over and wait to be given instruction by an alpha. He is never going to become submissive and walk delicately around Jungkook in hopes of pleasing him. It doesn't matter what Jungkook’s status is, Jimin is going to be himself and play by his own set of rules like he does with everything else in life.
And Jungkook loves it. It’s part of why Jungkook is so attracted to him in the first place.
He places a steaming cup of coffee in front of Jimin and the omega reaches forward to hug the mug with two hands, bringing it to his face to inhale its robust aroma.
Jimin takes a sip, “You’ve passed the first test, alpha.” Jungkook knows it's a joke, but he can't ignore the way hearing Jimin call him alpha sends a wave of excitement over him. He wants to hear him say it again. He needs to.
“How many pancakes do you want?”
Jimin lowers his mug and glances up at him with playful eyes. “Shouldn't you know?”
Jungkook laughs, returning to the kitchen. “Two it is, then.”
Jungkook makes a plate for each of them, carefully pouring just the right amount of syrup over Jimin’s pancakes before serving him and sitting down across from him.
Jimin eyes him carefully before his attention flickers down to his plate. He cuts off a piece of the pancake, swirling it around in the syrup puddle on the plate, and pops it into his mouth.
His eyes flutter shut and he hums. “It's perfect.”
Jungkook feels himself beam with pride, sitting up taller in his chair before slicing off a piece of his own to taste.
“Do you plan to make breakfast for me every morning?” Jimin asks, lifting his eyebrows playfully.
“If you want me to, I will,” Jungkook answers without hesitating.
“What a sweet, caring alpha you are,” Jimin praises and takes another bite. “What else would you do for me?”
“Well, I…” Jungkook trails off when he catches sight of Taehyung sauntering out of their bedroom. He glares at Jungkook before turning into the kitchen and pulling down a plate for himself, which he starts loading with the leftover pancakes.
Jimin falls silent, staring down at his food, moving pieces of his food around but no longer eating.
Taehyung carries his breakfast to the dining room, grabbing a chair and letting the legs screech against the wooden floor. He sets his plate down loudly, the silverware rattling before he takes a seat.
He glances between Jungkook and Jimin, then finally breaks the silence. “So, are we just not going to talk about what I saw last night?”
Jimin huffs, dropping his fork to cross his arms. “What is it that we need to talk about?”
“You kissed Jungkook,” Taehyung states as if it wasn't obvious.
“What about it?”
“Nothing,'' Taehyung grumbles, shoving a forkful of pancakes into his mouth. “I didn't know you were into baby alphas.”
“I’m only two years younger,” Jungkook argues, narrowing his eyes at Taehyung. “Jimin can kiss whoever he wants to.”
“Including me,” Taehyung says, glancing back to Jimin, “right, Minnie?”
“That's right,” Jimin says, then reaches for his coffee.
Jungkook blinks. “Wait, what?”
“You heard him,” Taehyung says, waving his fork around. “Jimin can kiss whoever he wants.”
“Wait…” Jungkook trails off, head spinning. He glances back at Jimin. “But I thought…”
“Listen,” Jimin says, lowering his mug. “I like both of you, alright? It's not a big deal. It's just a few harmless kisses.”
Jungkook feels a crack web its way across his sensitive ego, breaking his hope apart and he struggles to pick up the pieces. “But Jimin,” he begins, slowly reaching his hand across the table. “What I said to you last night, I was serious.”
Jimin's eyes turn down, and he looks a little guilty. “I'm sorry, Jungkook. I like you, I really do. But I like Taehyung, too.”
Jungkook looks over at Taehyung, finding a huge smirk growing across his face.
“But—but…” Jungkook stumbles over his words until Taehyung interrupts him.
“I think he wants you to choose, Minnie. Me or him.”
Jimin makes a face, leaning away from the table and shakes his head. “Don't make me do that, not now.”
“How about this…” Taehyung leans in closer, resting his elbows on the table as he looks between Jimin and Jungkook. “What if we make it interesting?”
“What does that mean?” Jungkook asks.
“What if Jimin chooses one of us based on who the better kisser is?”
Jungkook rears his head back, face twisting in disgust. “Are you fucking serious?”
“Why not?” Taehyung asks with an innocent shrug of his shoulder. “Each of us will kiss Jimin and he will decide who he likes better.”
“That's a ridiculous idea,” Jungkook says, shaking his head. He can’t imagine a more idiotic way to handle his love life, or Jimin’s. There is so much more to a relationship than kissing. The fact that Taehyung thinks that this is a good idea speaks volumes about his respect for Jimin and omegas. Jungkook opens his mouth, ready to tell Taehyung how horrible it is to mess with their feelings like that, when Jimin’s voice draws his attention away.
“I'm in.”
Both Taehyung and Jungkook's eyes fall to Jimin, who seems more interested in his coffee than the two of them.
“What?” Jungkook asks, shocked. There is no way Jimin would actually be into that idea. Is there?
Jimin nods, leaning forward to lower his mug on the table. “I don't have a problem with it. If you two think it's so important that I choose between you, then fine. I'm in.”
Jungkook's head snaps over to Taehyung, who is now grinning widely. “So, what do you think? Twenty kisses each? That should be enough to decide.”
Jimin laughs and shakes his head. “Twenty? How about five?”
“Are we seriously doing this?” Jungkook groans from across the table, appetite ruined.
“I can win with five,” Taehyung says, winking at Jimin.
Jimin rolls his eyes, biting back the slightest hint of a smile. “You two are too much. I have to go to work.”
Jungkook watches Taehyung’s hungry eyes follow Jimin out of the room when he leaves, and rage boils under his skin.
“You know this isn’t going to end well, right?” Jungkook says, crossing his arms over his chest and glaring at the other alpha.
Taehyung only shrugs. “Oh, I think it will end just fine, Jungkookie.” He pops a forkful of pancakes into his mouth and his full cheeks lift into a playful grin. “Thanks for the breakfast, by the way.”
Jungkook huffs, pushing away from the table and gathering his plate. He goes to the kitchen to clean up the mess he left, just to be further away from Taehyung.
If this is what Jimin wants, then fine, he will play Taehyung’s stupid little game. It’s not like he is much competition, anyway. Taehyung is annoying, self righteous and has terrible taste in music. What does Jungkook possibly have to be threatened by other than his perfectly symmetrical face, tall, lean figure, and low, sultry voice…
Jungkook shakes the thoughts from his head, scrubbing at the dish in his hand harder. No. He is not going to let Taehyung win this. He has waited too long to confess his feelings to Jimin, and he is not backing down now.
⊱Ω⊰
The competition starts immediately. Jungkook is in the middle of dragging his highlighter across quotes from his textbook that he plans on using in his essay, curled like a shrimp over the coffee table. The sun is just beginning to set when the sound of the lock on the door jingles.
Jimin walks through the door and suddenly Taehyung is there, sweeping the omega off his feet and cradling in his arms. Jimin gasps, surprised, his bag falling to the floor with a quiet thud as Taehyung closes the distance between their lips.
Jungkook can hear Jimin’s giggles muffled against Taehyung’s lips, his arms wrapping around his neck, feet swinging into the air. Jungkook wants to gag. When did Taehyung even come out of their room? Has he been tracking Jimin’s location on his phone? Calculating the exact time Jimin would come home just so he can beat him to a kiss?
With a huff, Jungkook tears his eyes away from them and stares back down at his book, which becomes harder to focus on with the sound of Jimin and Taehyung making out in the entryway. He reaches across the table for his earbuds, aggressively shoving them in his ears.
If Taehyung wants to play dirty, then Jungkook will, too.
⊱Ω⊰
If there is one way to Jimin’s heart, it’s through animals. The thought arises in Jungkook’s mind as he passes by an animal shelter on the way home from class. There’s a litter of kittens in the window, tiny little things stumbling over each other in a blur of white and gray.
It only takes a moment of thought and a few thousand won, but by the end of the day, Jungkook is setting up the apartment for the new kitten. He didn't bother asking permission from Taehyung—he couldn't care less what the other alpha thought—but he didn't run it by Jimin either. He knows as soon as the omega lays his eyes on the tiny little ball of fur, he’ll be in love.
Jungkook carefully ties a pink ribbon to the kitten’s neck, glancing up at the clock. Right on schedule, he hears the door unlock.
“I have a surprise for you,” Jungkook says as soon as Jimin takes his coat off.
“You do?” Jimin asks, excitement lighting up his face. “I love surprises.”
“Come with me.” Jungkook takes Jimin’s hand and drags him towards the bedroom. Before he opens the door, he moves behind Jimin, covering his eyes with his hands.
Jimin giggles and Jungkook can feel his eyelashes flutter against his palm like the delicate wings of a butterfly. “You’re making me nervous.”
“Don’t be, you are going to love it,” Jungkook says, nudging Jimin forward. “Open the door.”
Jimin reaches out, feeling around until he finds the doorknob. He opens the door and Jungkook guides him forward until they are standing in front of Jimin’s bed.
“Ready?” Jungkook asks, smiling.
“Yes,” Jimin replies excitedly, hands reaching up to wrap around Jungkook’s wrists like he wants to pull his hands away.
Jungkook laughs too, counting down from three before removing his hands. “Surprise!”
Jimin goes silent when he sees the kitten waiting patiently on his bed. All at once, this feels like a horrible mistake. He should have asked. He should have made sure Jimin wanted the extra responsibility and expense. He should have—
A squeal of delight spills from Jimin’s lips and he rushes forward, crawling on the bed to gather the kitten in his arms.
The tiny cat makes the smallest sound of comfort, curling up in Jimin's arms and purring.
“You didn't,” Jimin says, gently petting the kitten's fluffy back.
“I did,” Jungkook says, moving to the bed to sit beside Jimin. He reaches over to scratch at the kitten’s head with his finger. “Do you like him?”
“Like him?” Jimin repeats, bringing the kitten up to his face to nuzzle it against his cheek. “I love him! What's his name?”
“Gang-Yang,” Jungkook says. “That's the name he came with, at least.”
“Oh, it's perfect.” Jimin lowers the cat into his lap and leans over to cup Jungkook’s cheek. “This is so sweet of you, Jungkookie.”
“I thought he would make you happy,” Jungkook says and Jimin leans in to press a kiss to Jungkook’s lips. A burst of excitement floods Jungkook’s chest and he presses closer, tilting his head to kiss Jimin deeper.
Jimin follows Jungkook’s lead, angling his head, leaving the taste of honeydew on Jungkook’s lips before pulling away. Their foreheads press together. “Thank you.”
Jungkook smiles, looking down between them as the little kitten crawls back and forth between their laps. He feels so satisfied, so victorious. He still doesn’t like the idea of having a kissing competition, but there’s no way Taehyung will be able to beat this.
Yet somehow, two nights later, he manages to do just that.
Jungkook is in the kitchen when he hears Jimin’s gasp of shock. He nearly spills boiling water all over himself, rushing from the stove to the living room to find Jimin holding a tiny velvet box in his hands. Inside the box, Jungkook can see the light glinting off a pair of diamond earrings.
His heart sinks when Jimin lunges forward, pulling Taehyung into his arms and planting a kiss on his lips. Jungkook feels sick watching them, he turns off the stove and leaves his dinner unfinished and forgotten in the kitchen as sulks into his bedroom to distract himself with a round of gaming.
Gang-Yang wanders into his room shortly after, hopping onto his lap to demand attention. Jungkook lets the kitten curl up onto his chest, stroking his soft fur while he plots his next move.
“I’m not letting him win this easily,” Jungkook says to the cat, who only purrs, eyes falling shut. “This means war.”
They fill the rest of the week with countless attempts to win Jimin’s attention. Jungkook loans Jimin one of his sweaters when he complains about a chill in the air, which he catches the omega wearing while wrapped up in Taehyung’s arms.
Jungkook takes the opportunity to invite Jimin out to dinner the following night. The two stop for ice cream on the way home, gazing up at a sky full of stars. Jimin’s lips are cold when they press against Jungkook’s, sweetened with the lingering taste of vanilla.
It’s a perfect night until they get home, and Taehyung greets Jimin with a gentle peck on the lips.
Jungkook wants to be angry at him. He wants to hate Taehyung. Everything about this competition is ridiculous. But at the same time, Jungkook struggles to nail down what exactly it was that he hates besides his own jealousy.
Taehyung is kind, charming, and a pretty decent roommate. He’s good to Jimin, even if Jungkook hates to admit it. Still, sharing Jimin with another alpha is hard, and Jungkook is getting tired of fighting this battle. He needs this competition to be over as soon as possible.
Even if that means taking things to the next level.
⊱Ω⊰
Sunday morning rolls around and Jungkook is the first one awake. There is a chill through the apartment, and a shiver runs down his body as he throws on a shirt. They are well into autumn, and outside the window, the colorful foliage is glowing in the warm morning sun. Warm but not warm enough.
The insulation in the apartment is shit, Jimin warned him the first week he moved in. In September Jungkook didn't mind, but November is a different story. He checks the thermostat, chewing on the inside of his cheek, deciding if he should turn the heat on. Normally he never messes with the temperature, letting Jimin handle things like that.
He should probably ask first, avoid accidentally upsetting the omega, especially when things have been going well. He cracks open the door to Jimin's room, finding him buried beneath his thick, pillowy comforter. There is a tuft of blonde hair peeking out of the white covers, a subtle rising and falling of Jimin’s breathing, still asleep.
Quietly, Jungkook steps into the room, eyes fixed on Jimin's sleeping form where the sun is shining through the open curtains. It draws Jungkook closer, padding across the soft carpet of the room until he slowly crawls into the bed.
As expected, Jimin’s bed is warm, sending goose bumps erupting down Jungkook’s legs. It's also fragrant. Jimin’s scent is rich, deep, more delectable and inviting than usual. Jungkook pulls back the comforter to burrow into the warmth Jimin is buried in.
Jimin’s scent envelops him, and Jungkook closes his eyes to inhale the sweet, fruity fragrance that feels like home. Jungkook settles in, sliding up behind him and pulling Jimin to his chest, arms snaking around Jimin’s delicate waist.
Jimin stirs, shifting slightly to nestle himself closer to Jungkook, pressing his back flush against Jungkook’s chest.
“Hmm, Kookie,” Jimin grumbles from where he is still hidden beneath the comforter. “Why are you up so early?”
“It's cold, Hyung,” Jungkook says into the hair on the back of Jimin’s neck. “I needed to warm up.”
Beneath the covers, Jimin’s hands find their way to Jungkook’s, locking their fingers where Jungkook’s arm is draped over his waist. “I can help you with that.”
Jimin turns, shifting his body until he is facing Jungkook, still wrapped in his arms. Jimin’s eyes gently flutter open, a grin growing on his face when their eyes meet.
Jungkook pulls Jimin closer, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to Jimin’s pouty lips. Jimin hums at the touch of their lips, the grin on his face widening as they pull apart.
Jungkook mirrors Jimin’s smile, rubbing gentle circles with his thumb over Jimin’s waist. “I should start sleeping here so I'll never get cold.”
Jimin giggles, leaning in to steal another kiss. “I don't think that would be very fair to Taehyung.”
The hand on Jimin’s waist tightens. “He can get over it,” Jungkook mumbles, leaning in to capture Jimin's lips again, this time deeper, parting his lips to sweep his tongue over Jimin’s bottom lip.
Jimin tilts his head, letting Jungkook hungrily kiss into his mouth, shifting closer with each slide of their lips. Jungkook’s hands follow the curves of Jimin’s body, sliding up from his waist to his back, then his neck until finally anchoring into the soft golden locks of his hair.
A quiet noise of pleasure slips from Jimin’s lips when Jungkook’s fingers caress his scalp, and Jungkook kisses back harder, dragging his teeth across Jimin’s lips, pulling the bottom one into his mouth until the omega moans again.
Their bodies press closer and Jimin's leg lifts to tangle between Jungkook’s under the sheets. The bed feels like summer, the resplendence of long days that bleed into warm, cozy nights. And Jimin shines down like the sun, soaking Jungkook in his rich, decadent aroma.
Hands graze Jungkook’s body, catching in the folds of his loose pajama top as Jimin pulls at the fabric. And Jungkook is about to give in, pull away from Jimin’s sweet lips and lift his arms for Jimin to strip him when the bed dips.
Jungkook’s eyes blink open, head lifting to find Taehyung crawling over to them, curling his body around Jimin’s empty side and sandwiching the omega between them.
“Jungkookie isn't playing very fair,” Taehyung mumbles to Jimin, nipping at the omega’s reddened ears. “Kissing you before I'm even awake.”
Jimin laughs, his hands sliding away from Jungkook’s body as he turns to face Taehyung. Jimin’s tiny hands cup the alpha’s face. “I have plenty of kisses to share, Taetae,” Jimin says happily, puckering his lips to kiss him.
Anger flares through Jungkook, the heat from his lust bursting into flames of rage. His grip on Jimin tightens. It isn't like him to be possessive of an omega, especially Jimin, who has proven time and time again that he is a lot more capable of handling himself than Jungkook is. But he can't help it, Jimin makes him feel wild and primal. As much as wants to pretend he has a strong grip on his pride, he still can't stop a rumbling growl that resonates at the back of his throat as he watches Jimin kiss Taehyung.
The growl doesn't go unnoticed by the pair. Jimin breaks away from Taehyung’s lips and Taehyung chuckles.
“Do you hear that, Minnie?” Taehyung whispers to Jimin, eyes flickering up until he catches Jungkook’s gaze from over Jimin’s head. “It sounds like someone is jealous.”
Jungkook huffs, narrowing his eyes. “I am not jealous.”
A laugh bubbles from Jimin as he shifts to lie on his back, hand raising to stroke Jungkook’s heated cheek. “I know you aren't, baby. You've had plenty of attention, right?”
Jungkook shakes his head, feeling a pout twisting its way over his face. “It’s never enough.” And to make his point more clear, he leans in to capture Jimin’s lips in another kiss, the lingering spice of patchouli making the knot in his stomach pull tighter.
He wants to erase it, replace it with his own musk of suede and amber. His tongue dips into Jimin’s mouth, and the omega’s head falls back to comply as Jungkook chases his lips, putting on a show for Taehyung, arms curling around Jimin.
Taehyung, on the other hand, simply seems amused watching them, a smile curling on his lips when Jungkook’s eyes open to find him staring.
“Is Jungkookie a good kisser?” he asks when Jimin breaks for air. Jimin's head presses into the pillow as his chest heaves with shallow breaths.
Jungkook watches intently, staring at Jimin as the omega’s eyes flicker between the two alphas hovering over him. His eyes eventually land on Jungkook, his irises glowing with warm flecks of gold, and he nods.
The fire in Jungkook’s stomach settles, disarming his hostility, until Taehyung asks, “Better than me?”
And then Jimin’s eyes are on Taehyung instead, and Jungkook wilts like a dying flower.
“It's hard to say,” Jimin answers, a playful grin tugging at his cheeks. Taehyung rolls his eyes and Jungkook huffs.
“But one of us has to be better, right?” Taehyung asks, reaching to push away a long piece of Jimin’s fringe that has fallen into his eyes.
Jimin averts his eyes, biting down on his pink, kiss-swollen lips and that alone is enough to reawaken the hunger from Jungkook. He watches, desperate to pull Jimin’s lip from between his teeth and into his own mouth, taste him one more time, in case it would be his last.
Because Jungkook knows no matter what, he will respect Jimin’s decision, just as he respects everything else about him. Would he be heartbroken? Absolutely. But Jimin’s happiness comes before his own.
Jimin glances between the two alphas before his eyes flutter shut and he shrugs. “I think I need a few more kisses before I can decide.”
Taehyung laughs, leaning in to capture the omega’s lips in a slow, tender kiss, hand combing through Jimin’s hair. Jungkook watches from beside them, admiring the naked expanse of Jimin’s neck, his skin flawless and unmarked, almost as inviting as his lips.
Jungkook dips his head down, nosing beneath Jimin’s sharp, chiseled jaw, and inhales his scent where it's thick and heavy. From here he can feel Jimin swallow, feel his throat dip as Taehyung licks into his mouth. It drives him crazy.
He dives forward, pressing his lips to the sensitive skin covering Jimin’s fragrant scent gland, and Jimin shudders beneath him. He might not be the one on Jimin’s lips, but he can still find ways to make his body curl with pleasure, make sure he knows which alpha has this power over him.
His tongue drags over Jimin's scent gland, the nuttiness of pistachio tingling his taste buds. He leans in to capture the skin between his lips, sucking like he could drink the scent from Jimin, allowing it to permanently mark his mouth.
Jimin squirms under the touch, lips parting from Taehyung’s to whine. Jungkook sucks until it's too much and Jimin is shifting, turning towards him. Jungkook’s lips are dislodged from his throat, and Jimin wastes no time in covering them with his own.
This time, Jungkook isn't bothered by the added spiciness to Jimin’s lips left by the other alpha. It almost excites him, knowing now it's Taehyung’s turn to watch as Jungkook’s tongue dips into Jimin’s mouth, jaw opening wide to taste him deeper.
Jimin’s legs tangle with his again, and the sizzling embers in Jungkook's stomach ignite his body with a new fever. His eyes squeeze shut and the world around him melts away, captured by the rays of Jimin’s enticing aura, and all he feels is sweet, hot omega pressed to his body.
Jungkook tilts his head, changing the angle of his kiss, when Jimin pulls away with a startled gasp. Jungkook’s eyes open, scanning down Jimin’s body to find Taehyung’s hand buried beneath his shirt, thumbing over one of Jimin’s nipples.
“You smell so sweet today,” Taehyung says with a purr, nuzzling into the back of Jimin’s head.
“It’s because of you stupid alphas,” Jimin says with an airy breath, turning to lie on his back. Underneath his shirt, Jungkook watches Taehyung’s hand move, his fingers sliding against Jimin’s chest. He can't see what they are touching, but he can only imagine how hard Jimin’s nipples probably are from the attention, desire pooling in his stomach. Even if they aren't his own hands, he wants to see.
“I think you like the attention,” Taehyung says and Jungkook watches his fingers tighten beneath the fabric and Jimin gasps before a smile softens on his face. He looks at Taehyung, eyes hooded and heavy.
“Maybe,” Jimin replies, his voice laced with playfulness before he bites his lips, looking impossibly innocent for someone who has two alphas in his bed.
“Well, it's a good thing we can give you plenty of it.” Taehyung’s voice is low and sultry. His hand moves across Jimin’s chest and Jimin gasps, his chest rising, leaning into his touch. Taehyung smirks and then his eyes find Jungkook’s. “Isn't that right, Jungkookie?”
Jungkook swallows, tearing his eyes from Taehyung and down to the trembling omega between them. Jimin’s hands tighten in Jungkook’s shirt, his dark, hungry eyes glancing up at him, and Jungkook can’t say no.
Jungkook wants to give Jimin everything, to worship every inch of his body. The desire written over his features, the pleasure filled noises spilling from his lips—they’re what Jungkook has been craving, and he doesn't even care if he has to share.
Jimin waits patiently until Jungkook finally nods, surrendering to Jimin’s unspoken request to have two alphas ravish him. Jimin smiles and pulls Jungkook back in for another kiss, this one wet, messy, and desperate.
Jungkook could lose himself in Jimin’s kisses. Hours could pass like minutes and it would still leave him wanting more. He swallows down Jimin’s moans while Taehyung gives attention to his chest until Jimin is pulling away, whining that he is too hot, his clothes burning his skin.
Taehyung is the one to pull his shirt off, sliding it carefully over his head and throwing it to the floor. Jimin lays flat on his back between them, his chest heaving, pink blooming across his pale skin, his nipples hard and dark from the attention.
Jungkook’s breath catches in his throat. He can't recall ever seeing something so beautiful. Jimin’s own hands come to trail over his naked torso, skimming over the taunt skin of his abdomen, up over the ridges of his ribs and to his perked nipples.
Jungkook watches intensely, jaw tight, and Jimin’s petite fingers swirl around his nipples before trailing up higher until his arms are stretched out over his head, leaving his body open and vulnerable for the alphas to take and claim.
Taehyung dives in first, lips closing around one of Jimin’s nipples, his hand resting on Jimin’s chest, long fingers spread wide and dwarfing the tiny omega beneath him. Jimin’s eyes squeeze shut, another pleasured gasp falls from his lips as his head tilts back, burying deeper into the pillow.
Gently, Jungkook brings his hand to Jimin’s stomach, fingers skirting over his smooth, flawless skin. Jimin feels so soft, so hot, all Jungkook can think about is tasting him. He adjusts himself on the bed, shifting down so he can lean in and press his lips to Jimin’s naked skin.
He starts right above Jimin’s navel, feeling the muscles of his stomach tense at the touch, rippling with need as Jungkook’s lips travel further up. Slowly, Jungkook kisses his way up Jimin’s chest, avoiding Taehyung's hand until his lips find Jimin’s neglected nipple.
Jimin moans when Jungkook’s tongue laps at the heated bud, his back arching slightly off the mattress before dropping back down heavily. Jungkook closes his eyes, savoring the taste of Jimin’s heated skin, desire oozing from his pores.
His tongue swirls around the nipple, listening to the ragged breaths coming from Jimin as Taehyung nips and sucks at the other side of his chest. Jungkook seals his lips over Jimin’s skin and Jimin’s mouth drops open to let out an airy gasp.
It makes Jungkook’s insides twist, heat pooling in his stomach, down between his legs until his pants feel too tight and restricting. He wonders if Jimin can smell how aroused he is. He wonders if Taehyung can.
He pulls off Jimin's nipple, admiring the flushed red skin he left behind, and breathing in a scent that’s thick, rich, and sweet. His throat rumbles when he realizes what it is, eyes flickering up to Jimin’s face, where the omega’s head is thrown back into the pillow, panting up into the air.
Jimin is wet.
Taehyung must smell it too, given by the hungry growl that comes from his throat as he pulls away from Jimin's chest, crawling up the bed to whisper in Jimin’s ear, still loud enough for Jungkook to hear.
“I can smell you, Minnie.”
The flush on Jimin’s face deepens as his eyes flicker to Taehyung, and Jungkook wonders for the first time all morning if Jimin is embarrassed. But instead of squirming under the fixed eyes of two alphas, Jimin tilts his chin up slightly, his eyes darkening as his tongue pokes out to lick at his kiss-swollen lips.
“Do I smell good?” he asks with a lift of his eyebrow, and Jungkook feels his cock twitch in his pants.
Because fuck, Jimin smells incredible right now and Jungkook would give anything to have more of it. But he can’t find the words, his throat dry, all the blood drained from his brain to his cock. Luckily, Taehyung speaks up first.
“So good,” Taehyung says, his hand trailing down Jimin's chest and to the waistband of his pajama pants. He teasingly pulls at the strings, wrapping his fingers around them and pulling the elastic away from Jimin’s skin before releasing them, the band snapping softly against Jimin’s hips.
Jungkook’s eyes are drawn there instantly, staring at the dip in Jimin’s hips, the subtle lines of muscles that disappear beneath the pajamas.
“I want to smell more, don't you?” Taehyung asks and Jungkook lifts his head to find Taehyung staring at him.
He looks away from Taehyung to Jimin, whose eyes still have that shimmer of gold that makes Jungkook feel feral. He nods slowly and Jimin grins, his hips lifting off the bed, and Taehyung wastes no time tugging his pants down.
Jungkook's head snaps back to Jimin’s hips, watching his cock pop free from the pants. It lands heavy and full on Jimin’s toned abs, the pink head dripping with precome. Taehyung moves down the bed to slide the pants off Jimin’s legs.
The sight makes Jungkook’s mouth water, scanning down from Jimin’s cock to his bare legs. Taehyung is quick to move between Jimin’s legs, settling on his stomach and gripping the back of Jimin’s thighs to spread them further apart.
Jimin doesn't seem to mind, bracing his elbows on the bed to shift himself down further on the bed and towards the hungry alpha’s mouth.
“So fucking wet,” Taehyung says, voice strained with lust and Jungkook can only imagine what he sees. Jimin’s slick, trembling hole, clenching and begging for attention. Jungkook’s hands travel down Jimin’s body, glistening with a thin layer of sweat until they reach Jimin’s thigh.
He squeezes at the soft flesh, the smell of Jimin is filling the room, intoxicating Jungkook’s mind. His scent is different now, heavier, muskier, but it is still full of sweetness, awakening a thirst inside Jungkook.
Taehyung’s head dips between Jimin’s legs, and Jimin’s hand latches onto Jungkook’s arm like an anchor, holding on tight as Taehyung tastes him.
Jungkook turns his attention to Jimin’s blissed-out face, his fluttering lashes, plump lips hanging open in a silent moan, and can't help but think this the most beautiful sight he has ever seen. It no longer seems to matter that there is another alpha between his legs. Jimin deserves to feel good no matter who is pleasuring him.
He presses a comforting kiss to Jimin’s shoulder, noticing goosebumps ripple across his naked skin. Taehyung lets Jimin’s thighs drape over his shoulders, grabbing handfuls of Jimin’s plump ass to spread him open wider.
Is Taehyung's tongue already inside him? How deep can he reach? What does Jimin’s slick taste like?
Jimin shudders beneath his lips.
“Jungkookie,” Jimin gasps, pulling Jungkook closer.
“What do you need?” Jungkook asks, voice steady and low.
“Kiss me,” Jimin says, hands sliding up Jungkook’s back. “Please, kiss me right now.”
Jungkook doesn't hesitate, crashing their lips together in a mess of wet heat. Jungkook bites at his lower lip, and Jimin whines, chasing after every touch.
Moans and hisses fill the spaces between their kisses as Taehyung eats Jimin out. When Jungkook has to catch his breath, he focuses on pressing kisses along Jimin’s jaw until he’s ready to dive back in. This time it's harder to lose track of time, his cock throbbing between his legs like counting the seconds of the hour, and he wants to be touched, too.
Jimin’s voice hitches higher suddenly, his nails digging into Jungkook’s skin as his whines get closer together. Right when it seems like he’s at his peak, his moaning cuts off abruptly, weakening into a frustrated grumble.
Taehyung lifts his head from between Jimin’s legs, slick glistening down his chin.
“He tastes so fucking incredible, Jungkook,” Taehyung says, his tongue swiping at his lips. Jungkook swallows, throat bobbing with need.
Taehyung shifts back, pushing Jimin’s thighs off his shoulders to sit back on his folded knees. Jimin pouts, frowning up at the alpha between his legs. “Why did you stop?”
“You can't come yet,” Taehyung says with a hum. “We have barely started.”
“I don't want to wait.” Jimin cants his hips, cock still flushed an angry pink.
Taehyung smiles down at him, rubbing the flushed skin of Jimin’s pale thighs, a stark contrast to the tan skin of the alpha’s hands. “I think Jungkook wants a taste, too.” Taehyung glances at Jungkook and Jungkook’s heart skips a beat.
Jimin tilts his head towards Jungkook. “Do you want to taste, Jungkookie?” Jimin asks, sweet and playful.
Jungkook can only nod, pushing himself up to sit beside Jimin, taking in his body from the new angle. Jimin looks especially small when Jungkook is sitting above him, his creamy skin the perfect complement to the white sheets beneath him. He looks as decadent as a pastry, sitting pretty on a silver dish waiting to be devoured.
He trades places with Taehyung, taking Jimin’s delicate thighs in his hands to make room for himself between his legs. Jimin stares intensely as Jungkook settles, bending his knees and letting his legs fall open wider.
Jungkook's heart is fluttering in his chest as he takes in the sight before him. Jimin skin is smooth, flawless, because of course it is. Jimin probably gets his whole body waxed and exfoliated on a regular basis, but Jungkook isn't complaining.
His eyes land on the omega’s wet opening, tight and glistening with his slick and Taehyung's saliva. His scent hits Jungkook like a physical force, making his head swim in the haze of lust. Jungkook grabs at Jimin’s hips, letting his instincts take over, and pulls Jimin in closer.
He slides one of his hands down Jimin’s thigh, inching closer and closer to his tight, pink hole. Goosebumps erupt over Jimin’s legs at the feather-light touch, and Jungkook doesn't miss the way his hole clenches, and slick trickles between his asscheeks to the growing wetness on the mattress.
Carefully, Jungkook brings his fingers closer, his thumb reaching out to glide across the wet skin. Jimin trembles at the touch, a breathy moan leaving his lips. Jungkook stares down where his thumb is resting, curiously pushing it closer to Jimin’s opening, circling the tight muscles until more slick comes oozing out.
He squeezes Jimin’s thigh with his free hand, pushing it up higher, as he presses the blunt tip of his thumb against Jimin’s hole and pushes. Jimin’s body easily gives way to the intrusion, swallowing Jungkook’s thumb into his tight, silky heat. Jimin moans, shuddering under Jungkook’s touch and Taehyung shifts closer, cupping the curve of Jimin’s jaw and angling it to capture his lips.
Their lips smack together as all of Jungkook’s senses are drawn between Jimin’s legs. He replaces his thumb with his index finger, pushing deeper inside Jimin’s body.
Jimin whines against Taehyung’s lips as Jungkook’s fingers curl, dragging out to hook on his rim and pull him open, letting more slick leak from him. It's beautiful. Jimin is beautiful, and this is all Jungkook has ever wanted. To have him whimpering under his touch.
It's still not enough. The fire inside of Jungkook needs to be fed more. With his fingers still buried inside the omega, Jungkook lowers himself to his stomach, hooking Jimin’s thigh over his shoulder the same way Taehyung did.
He watches from this new, close distance as Jimin’s body opens around his fingers, squeezing them tightly together and pulling them into the throbbing heat inside him. Jungkook pulls his fingers out slowly, almost all the way but not quite, keeping his fingertips inside Jimin’s heat until he plunges them back in with a satisfying squelch.
From this angle, Jungkook can't see what Taehyung is doing, but he doesn't care. All that matters is what Jimin can feel, and Jungkook will show the omega how good pleasure can be.
As he strokes Jimin’s walls with his pumping fingers, Jungkook leans in to press kisses across the inside of his thighs, working his way closer and closer to where his fingers are disappearing inside of the omega.
The first taste of slick sends sparks across Jungkook’s tongue, tingling his senses. It’s good, so fucking good. Like some sort of divine nectar coveted by gods, sweet with a tang of nuttiness that has Jungkook swallowing down every drip his fingers push out.
And Jimin is crying out, shaking, bucking under Jungkook’s fingers. Taehyung’s gentle words of comfort are almost lost under the sound of Jimin’s ragged breathing. He presses his fingers deeper until they are buried up to his knuckles, feeling for the point of pleasure inside.
Jimin’s thighs jerk when Jungkook’s fingers brush his prostate, and Jungkook presses harder, working in gentle motions over the sensitive spot while he licks up slick that spills around them.
He slowly spreads his fingers, opening Jimin’s hole wide enough for Jungkook to slip his tongue in. He presses in deep, dragging his tongue across Jimin’s velvety walls, letting the taste of the omega send waves of pleasure down his body and straight to his neglected cock.
He shifts his hips to rutinto Jimin’s bedding, desperate for friction. He presses his face closer between his spread fingers, licking in deeper as slick drips down his chin.
A gasp rips from Jimin’s mouth, and Jungkook glances up to find Taehyung’s hand wrapped around the omega’s cock
“Are you going to come, baby?” Taehyung asks, long fingers languidly stroking Jimin’s drooling cock.
Jimin's hands clutch at the covers and Jungkook lifts himself up higher to get a better view of his face. He already looks on the verge of falling over the edge, sweat beading around his hairline, cheeks red and glistening.
“Don't want to,” Jimin says in between labored breaths.
“Tell me what you want then,” Taehyung says softly, hand squeezing at the base of Jimin's cock.
“I—” Jimin gasps when Taehyung drags his hand back up and over his swollen cockhead, “I—I want to be fucked.”
Jungkook licks the remaining slick from his lips, hands finding their grip on Jimin's soft thighs.
“I can do that, baby,” Taehyung says, leaning in to press a kiss to Jimin’s cheek.
A growl tears its way through Jungkook's throat, his nails digging into Jimin’s flesh, firm enough to make the omega gasp with surprise and gain the attention of the other alpha.
“No,” Jungkook says, voice low, territorial. “I will fuck you.”
Jimin’s eyes grow wide, lips parting slightly. If Taehyung objects, Jungkook doesn’t notice. Nothing else exists beside Jimin’s warm body in his hands.
“Alpha,” Jimin breathes, the title stroking a long neglected part of Jungkook, sending a wave of pleasure tingling over him. Jimin’s eyes flutter, his hands spreading wide across the covers before curling into tight fists again. “Please.”
And that's all Jungkook needed to hear. He flips Jimin over on his stomach and pulls him up to his knees. Jimin takes to the position expertly, tilting his hips up to present his leaking hole, back arched perfectly.
Jungkook rolls off the bed, stripping his clothes off himself with a fury he’s never had before. Because he needs to feel Jimin wrapped around his cock. He has been patient for eight fucking years, but it was all worth it to have Jimin on his hands and knees on the middle of his own bed, waiting beautifully for Jungkook to claim.
Out of the corner of his eye, he catches Taehyung stripping himself, too. He doesn’t care. Jungkook is going to be the one to fuck Jimin first, no matter what Taehyung is planning. Jungkook will be the one to split Jimin open on his knot, mark Jimin so deep nothing can ever take the scent away.
He scrambles back onto the bed, kneeling behind Jimin’s pert ass. He reaches forward to cup the omega’s plump ass cheeks, squeezing the round globes of flesh in his hands before pulling them apart to expose Jimin’s reddened hole, open and ready to be claimed.
Jungkook uses his fingers to gather some of the slick leaking from Jimin’s hole, coating his cock with it until it's wet and slippery. Jungkook swallows down another grumble, finally having attention where he needs it most, but it's nothing compared to the anticipation of what he is about to feel.
Across from him, Taehyung kneels in front of Jimin’s head, hands reaching out to stroke the omega’s sweat-dampened hair. His scent is thick in the air, almost smoky. Jimin doesn't seem to mind the extra attention, pressing his face into Taehyung's soft touches.
Jungkook holds his cock firm, shifting closer and pressing into the mess of slick dripping from Jimin. A hiss breaks through Jungkook’s teeth as his jaw tightens, slowly pressing his hips forward to rub his cock over Jimin’s opening in teasing little touches.
Jimin arches his back, his knees shifting to spread his legs open just a little more as Jungkook rubs himself against him. Jimin is whining softly, letting out tiny pleas to be filled.
And Jungkook can't deny him any longer than he has denied himself.
Carefully, he lines himself up with Jimin's hole, pressing his cock in until the tight muscles give, swallowing up Jungkook’s throbbing girth. Jimin gasps, fists pulling at the covers, head tilted backwards while Jungkook slowly pushes in, inch by inch.
It's almost fascinating, watching Jimin’s tiny body open around Jungkook’s fat cock. It looks like Jungkook would be too big to fit, but Jimin takes him to the hilt and lets out a long moan of relief when Jungkook’s balls are pressed flush against his skin.
Jungkook holds Jimin’s hips tight as he adjusts to the feeling. It’s fucking incredible, everything Jungkook has ever imagined it would be, and he never wants this moment to end.
He lets out a long sigh, calming the instincts burning inside his mind that tell him to take, claim, and breed. “Jimin,” he breathes, eyes fixed on where they are joined.
Jimin hums from below him, pressing his hips back as if to take Jungkook deeper. “Alpha, please.”
Jungkook’s eyes flash up to Taehyung, finding the alpha watching with the same heated intensity. A part of Jungkook prickles with excitement, knowing Taehyung has to watch Jimin fall apart on his cock, be connected with him.
Right now, Jimin is his.
He blinks away from the other alpha, focusing back on Jimin, who is impatiently squirming, begging Jungkook to just fucking move. So he does, finding a firm grip on Jimin’s hips to drag his cock back out, slow and easy until the head hooks on Jimin’s rim.
Jimin releases a slow breath, in time with Jungkook’s movement, chest contracting as Jungkook pulls away. Jungkook waits for a moment, feeling the slight trembling of Jimin’s needy hole before finally pushing back in again.
Jimin moans louder, more shameless, head dipping between his shoulders, and Jungkook thrusts back in with more force, jolting the omega forward and savoring the velvety slip of Jimin’s body around him.
It only takes a couple of thrusts before Jungkook builds up a steady rhythm, rocking his hips hard and purposeful. Jimin’s body opens around him with ease, like they were made for each other. The slide is wet, hot, and addicting. Pleasuring tingles through Jungkook’s cock and up through his core.
Jimin’s soft, high-pitch moans fill the room with every thrust of Jungkook’s hips. In front of him, Taehyung cups Jimin's face, whispering encouragements that Jungkook can barely hear over the blood pounding in his ears.
Taehyung shifts closer, angling Jimin’s head up and towards his own aching hardness. Jimin takes Taehyung into his throat without hesitation, and Jungkook angles his head, desperate to watch, an irritated growl rumbling through him when their position doesn’t allow it.
But he can still hear the way Jimin’s moans become muffled around Taehyung's cock, and arousal pierces through him. He thrusts harder, pulling Jimin’s hips back against his, pulling his cock out further before slamming back in.
He wants to hear Jimin fall apart, gagging on Taehyung's cock while Jungkook drills into him.
“Fuck,” he hears Taehyung growl, hands buried in Jimin’s hair, pulling the omega towards his hips in time with Jungkook’s thrusts. It’s almost perfect, Jungkook thinks, the hottest thing he has ever seen. Something he never imagined himself wanting, but now that he has had a taste, he knows he’ll want to do it again.
With this alone, it feels like all their problems are solved. Maybe next time Jimin’s mouth would be on his cock, or maybe Jimin would let the both of them fuck him at once, stretch him to his limits, then spoil him with anything he could possibly imagine.
The fire grows in Jungkook’s chest. The cool air of the room hits the layer of sweat that has formed on his back, igniting his skin with an icy burn. He pumps harder, chasing the friction of Jimin’s body, feeling the fire in his chest snake its way through his abdomen, curling around his stomach.
He arches over Jimin’s body, speeding up his thrusts, putting more force behind each snap of his hips until the bed is rocking and he can hear Jimin gag around the cock in his mouth. The omega whines in protest when Taehyung pulls out for a minute to give Jimin a chance to catch his breath, begging for more
Jungkook’s thrusts are merciless, slamming hard and fast into Jimin, their skin slapping together. It's too much and still not enough. He wants to feel Jimin squeeze even tighter around himself, wants to be buried deeper, locked inside him and painting his insides white.
“Are you going to knot him, Jungkookie?” Taehyung asks, smearing his leaking cockhead over Jimin's tongue.
Jungkook wants to—fuck–that’s the only thing he wants, but he knows he shouldn’t. It’s too forward, too much to ask for. He shakes his head, huffing a frustrated breath as he keeps fucking into Jimin.
“No?” Taehyung questions. “You don't want to knot him?”
Jimin lets out a strangled sound, something between a whine and a cry, Taehyung’s cock falling from his mouth as his head lowers. “Alpha, please.”
Jungkook’s heart flutters, a deep pulse vibrates down between his legs. Jimin doesn't really mean that, does he?
“Jimin,” Jungkook breathes, struggling to keep up his pace.
Jimin whines again, presses back into Jungkook, like he is still unsatisfied, begging for more. “Please, Alpha,” he begs, “knot me.”
Those two words are enough. His instincts take over and Jungkook fucks into Jimin hard and fast, leaning over the omega’s body, his stomach grazing his sweat-drenched back.
Jungkook is breathing hot and wet, mouth gaping and panting, thighs burning as he pushes harder and harder.
The initial pressure of his knot forming rips another growl from his throat, and Jimin’s moans become louder and more desperate, no longer able to keep Taehyung’s cock in his mouth as he pants breathlessly.
Jimin’s walls feel tighter, the grip on his cock more intense, and soon Jungkook can barely pull back at all, his knot catching on Jimin’s rim with every thrust. Jimin is falling apart just as quickly, thighs shaking as struggles to keep himself up on his hands and knees.
In front of him, Taehyung is still encouraging him, pumping his cock with his own fist as he tells Jimin how pretty he will be with Jungkook’s knot buried inside of him.
And, surprisingly, that is what sends Jungkook over the edge, his hips hitching, slamming forward in one hard thrust as pleasure explodes through his cock, come spilling deep inside the omega while his knot locks them together.
He can feel Jimin come immediately after, clenching tightly around Jungkook’s swollen knot and milking more come from Jungkook. Jimin’s toes curl and he drops down to his elbows, body shivering as his come spills across the bedding beneath him.
Slowly, Jungkook's overwhelmed senses start to calm down, the fog of lust and pleasure clearing from his mind. He blinks down at Jimin, watching his chest heave, his face coated in ropes of come from Taehyung’s orgasm, and he looks fucking breathtaking.
In his grip, Jungkook can feel Jimin’s body get heavy, going limp from exhaustion. He adjusts their position, tilting their bodies to lie on their sides. Jimin hisses as Jungkook’s knot jostles inside him, and the tug is almost enough to make Jungkook come again.
He curls Jimin’s body closer to him instead, until Jimin's back is flush against Jungkook’s naked chest. Their legs tangle and Taehyung moves to lie down on the other side of Jimin, brushing his hair out of his face and leaning in to lick the come from his cheek.
When he is done, his lips find Jimin’s, pressing soft little kisses to Jimin’s mouth while Jimin still struggles to catch his breath. Jungkook’s arm slings over the omega’s waist, relaxing down into the bed as the rush of sex drains from his body.
“You have to admit I'm still the better kisser,” Taehyung teases before pressing another quick peck to Jimin’s lips.
Jungkook rolls his eyes but finds that he isn't really bothered. It's his knot that is locked into Jimin right now. He leans in to press a kiss to the back of Jimin’s neck, a simple reminder of the opposing competition.
Jimin giggles, his arms reaching out to wrap around Taehyung. “I still don't think I can make up my mind—at least, not yet.”
Jungkook snickers, nose brushing the damp hair at Jimin’s nape. “Brat.”
Jimin smiles, smug like a content cat, wrapped up in bed with two alphas who would do anything for him. “You two will just have to figure out how to share,”
And somehow, Jungkook thinks he can handle that.
