Chapter Text

Daishō Suguru had no idea how he ended up here. Sitting in the school nurse's office with both the school counsellor and his mother next to him as the nurse yet again inspected his arms who were throbbing in pain, wounds yet again sneaking up over them.

Stupid soulmate. What kind of bs did they get themselves into?

But unfortunately his teacher, who were the one to send him to the nurse to begin with, and the other people in the room didn't even think of "Soulmate can be the reason". No, they jumped straight to "Daishō is doing self-harm and needs help". Fucking annoying.

“So, ms. Daishō, we suspect your son needs help as he yet again we’re sent to the nurse after a teacher saw new wounds on him” the school counsellor said, sending a worried look over at Suguru.

“I know you all think I’m doing-” Suguru started, but was quickly interrupted by his mother.

“I know” she said. “I see them too, and I’m getting worried. But he won’t even tell me every time I ask”

“No, because-” and then he was interrupted again.

“Well, this is certainly worrisome. Maybe try getting him therapy?”

“I don’t need-”

“Yeah… I’ll see what I can find”

And so ms. Daishō stood up, said her goodbyes and left with Suguru trailing behind.

“Mom, I-” Suguru stopped talking when he saw who was waiting outside the office. The team and Mika. All with a worried look on their faces.

“Captain, are you okay?” Hiroo asked.

“I’m fine” Suguru answered. Short, simple and the truth.

But his mother gave him that look, as if she didn’t believe him. Of course she didn’t. When did she ever? Well, maybe that one time he suddenly had a hole in his tongue and ears. Suguru thinks that the only time his mother ever believed him when it came to his soulmate. Suguru could understand why. His mother’s soulmate, his own father, was… horrible, to say the least. First of, he is, or was, a masochist. But he didn’t want to do anything to himself, no, he instead did stuff to his ms. Daishō. That way he could feel the pain without hurting himself, because, well yeah, they were soulmates after all. So after that man died and his mom was free, she was quick to change her and Suguru’s last name to her maiden name, Daishō. That was 7 years ago when Suguru was 11.

Now he is 18 and his mother still didn’t want to talk about anything that had with soulmates to do. Which was annoying in situations like these. Now she was worried for no reason, and she made his team and Mika (who he broke up with, because they both fell out of love, but they are still super close friends) worried.

“I’m serious, I’m fine. Now if I’m correct, school is over and and it’s time for practise. Let’s go” Suguru said and started walking towards the gym, ignoring his mother’s protests. The team quickly followed silent after.
