Work Text:

They’re on his bed when she realizes.

“You know, you haven’t kissed me today,” Chrissy says and it makes her cheeks flood with warmth as she looks over at him. It’s still a little unusual, expressing herself like this. With Jason, she was always a willing participant but he was always the one to start things. To ask for things. Even before Jason, before boys in general, she didn’t announce herself in any way that wasn’t expected of her. So she’s never been the kind of girl to say what she wants, but she so wants Eddie to kiss her right now.

He holds her gaze in those warm brown eyes of his and a joke twists at his lips; his hand slaps his chest and he acts like a shock is going through his body.

“I haven’t?” he says and she bites her lip, nodding once. That’s all it takes; he shifts on the bed so that one arm slides under her shoulders, the other with a gentle hand cradling her chin. “What the hell am I waiting for?”

“I don’t know,” she replies, a whisper but it feels so light on her tongue.

And he’s kissing her. She’s wrapped in him as his hair falls over them, blocking any view of the room, the world, around them. She pushes it back with her hands, still somehow surprised at how soft it really is. How he is and how he is with her.

She wants so much more of him and pushes harder, teeth just grazing his bottom lip but he moans and lets her in. She tastes that peppery herbal spice in him that is such a comfort to her now. It’s something that makes her feel safe and wanted as she is. As everything she is learning to be.

When he moves again, he drags her body closer to his and it feels so good. He’s not like Jason, with his perfectly sculpted marble athlete’s body, built to be hard and tough and unmovable. Eddie’s body is more like a live wire. Lean and sinewy but with enough power and strength hiding under the surface to cause a blackout. It’s bigger too, so much so that he feels twice her size when he slides his knee between hers and tries to steady himself over her. He has to bend to keep his mouth on hers so he does, never stopping.

It’s not until he slides his tongue against hers that she can no longer hold back a moan of her own. It’s loud in her ears and Eddie kisses her through it. Her lips are wet against his and god, she wants him to do more. To go deeper.

His hand hits the wall above them. Her hands move to his shoulders and she can feel him shaking. Trembling, even, and it’s alarming enough to cause her to break their kiss. She looks up at him through her lashes to see him hovering over her, lips painted pink with her lipstick and his eyes still so dark and wide.

“Are you okay?” she asks and he blinks as if he doesn’t understand the question.

“Are you okay?” he repeats and she sees a flash of worry cross his face. She reached up and strokes the corner of his jaw, soothing it away as he melts into her touch.

“I’m okay,” she answers and lifts herself up to catch his lips again. And it’s so quick, the way he loops both arms under her back and rolls them over so that she’s the one looking down at him. She’s the one above him.

They’ve properly made out five times now, she thinks, but never like this. Twice as she’d balanced on the top of their table; again on his lap in his van. Side by side on the couch and once through her open window past midnight. But she’s never really been on top of him like this, her entire body of curves pressed against his every angle and line.

“I’m okay,” he insists, brushing her bangs out of her eyes. “This position is much better though.”

She giggles, ducking her head down and he kisses her nose before catching her mouth again. This time it’s slower but oh, it’s everything. It’s his hands in her hair, it’s his breath on her skin. Her name and the way it sounds so pretty in his voice.

And she has to admit, he looks so pretty like this underneath her. Wild hair curled around him, the jut of his jaw that grazes hers, a red patched neck stretched out for her to bite. So she does, her teeth just under his ear as she trails down to end with a kiss. His hands on her waist grip tighter when she does it again, just over the knot that bobs in his throat. Her third nip is at the collar of his shirt and he truly loses control of his breathing. It makes her smile something that feels wicked as she tugs at the black shirt, exposing just an inch of his chest but an inch right next to the tattoo she’s only once caught a glimpse of.

It’s there she leaves her mark as he mutters and groans and gasps, fingers tangled in her sweater. When she’s done, she sits up, her knees straddling his waist and she tugs the collar of his shirt down more to see it. It’s fascinating, the white ring surrounding a blotch of darkest red, little broken lines racing from the center.

She hopes it lasts. She wants to see what she can do.

“You can take it off,” Eddie says, looking dazed but still only looking at her. It’s then that she sees the way her hands were playing with the edge of his shirt, sliding it up past his navel, fingernails catching on fine hairs.

“I didn’t realize-” she starts but her hands won’t move away from him. “I wasn’t trying to, necessarily, undress you, you know.”

“I mean, I’m totally fine with it if you were,” Eddie says in a sweet, lazy way as he props himself up on his elbows. “It’s getting a little hot in here.”

She laughs and swats at his bare stomach. “You’re so cheesy,” she says and she can see another line just waiting to be let out of its cage so she surges forward and kisses him again before he can unleash it.

“Okay,” she says now that he’s quiet again, “let’s take this off.”

He nods eagerly and sits up, his arm around her back to keep her from losing her balance. She tugs the shirt again, giving it one last thought, then slowly pulls it over his chest, his shoulders, his arms when he raises them, until it is completely off of him and in her hands. It occurs to her at that moment that Jason had always taken his clothes off for her.

There’s something about this that feels different. Brave. Powerful. It feels good. She lays the shirt next to them on the bed and he lays back down as she starts tracing her way through the shapes of him.

It’s really so much to take in but she notices the black ink jutting out of his hip bones, half hidden by his jeans and she starts to trace the lines. This feels brave too.

“What do you have here?” Chrissy asks and if she notices the way his skin flutters under her touch, she just locks it away for later.

“Ah, that’s… um, it’s a dragon wing,” he says with a blush and like he’s short of breath. “It’s not finished yet.”

“Can I see it?” she asks and Eddie chokes, craning his head to look at her. “You don’t have to, I just thought-”

“No, you absolutely can, it’s just that it’s below my belt.”

“Oh.” She gets it now. A shirt is one thing, she’s okay with that. But this is something else and they haven’t talked about that. She doesn’t know if he’s… well she suspects that he has but she knows she’s only ever done that with Jason. She knows so little about Eddie and she can see how intrusive it must seems to ask him to bare himself for her.

“Hold on,” he says, shifting underneath her and reaches for his belt. She starts to panic as he undoes the buckle but calms when he doesn’t reach for his jeans. Instead he slips the belt off and tosses it to the floor before he hooks his thumb into his waistband.

She sees it now, the fierce curve of the pebbled skin and a sharp talon. It looks like one of the pictures in his books. It suits the way his body lays and she wants to touch it but she thinks that’s pushing her luck.

“It’s beautiful,” she says, eyes flickering up to Eddie’s and his smile blows her away. He’s proud of it, she can see. It’s special to him.

“I designed it,” he beams. “I’m not an artist or anything but I kinda sketched it out and then my man did his thing with it. It’s gonna be so metal when it’s done.”

“What’s stopping you?” She’s genuinely curious; if there’s one thing she knows about Eddie, not much seems to stop him.

“Money,” is the simple answer he gives and lets his hand fall free from his pants and slide up her thighs until he’s holding her waist again. “I’m saving for it.”

“I could give you some of the cash I have in my drawer at home,” she offers.

“I think I’d find more interesting things in your drawer, Chrissy,” he smirks and god, she’s giggling again. How does he do that to her?

“I bet I could find some interesting things in yours too.” With a roll of her hips, he’s groaning again and dragging her down. Mouths together again, teeth biting her lip until she feels it plump. Eddie pulls the scrunchie out of her hair - it was probably a lost cause long ago, she figures - and is raking his fingers through it when he’s not smoothing them down her back or resting them on her thighs.

It’s him this time that breaks them up and starts kissing her neck and the heat from his tongue seems to settle low in her stomach. It’s impossible to think with him like this but she knows something is about to give into him. Just a little bit. Just enough.

“Gonna leave a hickey on your throat, baby,” he mutters and she throws her head back at the deep gravel in his throat. “You gotta stop me if you don’t want it there.”

She knows it can’t be there but god, she wishes it could. Instead she puts her hand on his chest and leans just out of reach. His groan sounds frustrated and she can’t fault him but she can make it up to him.

“Help me with this,” she insists, starting with the top button of her sweater. He gets the hint and starts from the bottom, working the little plastic things through the holes and they meet in the middle. It’s always been the most stubborn one and right now, neither of them can seem to get their fingers to work enough to get it through.

“Screw it,” Eddie says and he pulls her sweater down her shoulders and it hooks at her elbows. She pulls her arms out and he gets the sweater over her head after that. The shirt underneath is modest but it’s cut just enough that he can do to her what she did to him. Pull the collar down, exposing her skin to him.

He kisses her there, above the fake lace of her pink bra and when he moans this time, she feels it enter her body. It’s inside her the same way his mouth is on her skin, pulling and tugging and she can’t do anything but pant openly as he holds her. She can feel his bruise forming but he doesn’t stop with the one. He starts another as his fingers peel away at her.

She gasps so loudly when his tongue laps at her nipple and his lips close around her. She didn’t even know how far down he’d gone but right now she doesn’t care. He feels so good. So so good.

He doesn’t lose a second as he lays her back on the bed, his knee high under her skirt and his hands on her chest. She could lose herself there. Lose herself completely. She thinks she wouldn’t even care if she let him take her now. No words, no talks, nothing except her body open and waiting for him so long as he makes her feel like this.

Of all things to stop him, it’s the phone in the other room.

“Ignore it,” he mutters and she’s inclined to agree but it keeps ringing like an alarm and it’s just the kind of interruption to bring her back to her senses.

“You should get that,” she says and he rolls off of her, stalking down the shirt hall of his trailer home. She hears him shout roughly at the caller but she loses focus when she catches a glimpse of herself in a crooked mirror on his wall. She looks… god, she looks like the kind of girl her mother always warned her not to be. Shirt stretched out, dark spots on her chest, skirt hiked up nearly to her hips. Not to mention her smeared lipstick and smudged blue eyeshadow. Or the flush in her face and neck, splotches of color rising in all sorts of places.

The clock next to his bed got her moving.

“I’m going to be late!” Chrissy cries when Eddie walks back in as she’s rushing around the room to get her belongings gathered. “I have to be home in twelve minutes.”

“Shit!” Eddie agrees, grabbing her books and her sweater from the floor. She’s trying to put her hair back up but he takes her arm and leads her out the door, insisting she do it in the van.

He gets to her street with exactly one minute to spare and she knows she hardly looks any more put together now than she did sitting on his bed. But if she goes through the back door, shouts “I’m home!” and gets to the shower before seeing her mother, maybe she can still get away with this.

“Go, go, go!” Eddie says, screeching to a halt at the corner. He reaches over her to open the door. Her seatbelt is off and she’s just about to slide out of the seat and make a run for it when something comes over her.

“Screw it!” She takes his chin in her hand and kisses him hard, trying to pour their whole afternoon into this one moment.

She thinks it works. She leaves him speechless and that alone makes her fly home.

Notes:

I wrote this in one go last night. It’s likely part of a much bigger story but I don’t know when I’ll be working on or posting that. I was way too excited to wait until then to share this.
