I have seen the end. Now show me the beginning.

Summary:

The Witness stood at the end of the World, facing another God. Their first contract was unwillingly forged, their second would be accepted without reservation.
They had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Or what if the All-Seeing Eyes came with knowledge of the future?

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The air was filled with the clogging scent of blood, new and old. The last screams had faded long ago, leaving only the sound of crumbling buildings to preside over what remained of Earth. The Witness stood silent before the God, the last living being in a destroyed world.

“Do we have a deal then?” The God asked idly.

The Witness nodded firmly, eyes dry as the sands surrounding them. Their tears had dried up when the last of their friends had perished to protect them. “Yes.” The voice that emerged from the Witness was rough from disuse but without hesitation. “We have a deal.”

A wide smile filled the God’s face as the God snapped their fingers once. The bright light of a God’s power filled the Witness’ sight, quickly becoming a dizzying whirlwind of colours. A door stood right below it, beaconing the Witness to cross its threshold. Once the door was opened, there would be no turning back.

The Witness didn’t hesitate as they pressed their hand to it and walked through. They had nothing to lose.

The world had ended. The All-Seeing God had been sated.

And the Witness had gone Blind.
