Boys over Flowers

Summary:

Everyone wants to know who Infy likes, and they're willing to try something *really* stupid to find out!

Tags (including the brothers) will be added as they become relevant. Anyone who knows my writing knows that I typically like to write one chapter and then *finger guns* out, and that's not fair on anyone using the search function.

Chapter 1: The Bet

Chapter Text

Belphegor

He sighed and planted his head against his workbook. His latest assignment was hell enough, but to top off his quiet ire he knew there was something way more interesting going on in the council room right now, and Lucifer was making him miss it. Obviously out of spite, the prick.

The topic of said council meeting was seated next to him, working through exactly one paragraph of a thick history tome. Repeatedly.

Infy - as this Council’s current Problem was called - was currently suffering from a lack of fucks to give about Devildom history, and so had suggested they work together, probably under a delusion that he'd have some sort of ability to help her take in words.

Fucking nope.

"Hey, Infy." He slouched himself onto the table, one arm posed to lean his head on as he looked at her through his lashes. She glanced over and "hmm?"'d him.

"Have you been wondering what's been happening in the council meetings recently?" Infy raised an eyebrow, letting her head fall back slightly as she considered his question.

"I guess? It's interesting stuff, like how to manage a school, or a realm sometimes. It feels more straightforward than human realm politics." He snorted at that. What a poncy-pot. No wonder Lucifer liked her. His snort caught her attention. “What was that for?”

"You'll be disappointed, is all. Today's meeting is all about figuring out which one of them you like."

He quickly took a photo of the hilariously shocked and disbelieving expression on her face. Oh he was shaking from laughter now. Saved to the Thunder Cloud, and sent to Beel.

"Very funny..." Her face now held an adorable pout on it. How cute.

"It's the truth. You've got all my brothers wondering about it. Even the other human has been asked for his thoughts on the matter." She went bright red at that. How interesting.

"W-Wha? No way!"

Belphegor held up his phone to show his message history with Beel. It was a rundown of the events, interspersed with dinner ideas and the most recent photo he sent of her. She stared at the screen wordlessly for a while, then burst out laughing. That was unexpected. He raised his eyebrows and waited for her to explain herself.

When she eventually calmed enough to notice his confused facial expression, she sighed and began to speak.

"sorry, it's just so surreal… I've certainly never had this many people interested in my affections at once." Belphie smirked at that. Humans were stupid then, because she was too interesting. "It makes my life back in the human world seem… really… tame…"

"You didn't have the most powerful beings in the human realm fighting over you back them? I'm disappointed in you." Her laugh was nice, and she'd definitely caught the sarcasm. His phone buzzed and he briefly checked it before continuing. "You've certainly got all of my brothers fighting. Beel says Levi and Asmo's demon forms are out so far."

That obviously alarmed her. Her eyes were wide and her mouth was slightly open. Her lips looked so soft…

"Why?"

He looked up through his lashes at her.

"maybe they want to see who you'll be most worried about."

She shook her head vigorously at that. "okay, that's really stupid. Lucifer's already got me making the morning pot of coffee for everyone." She gestured in the air vaguely as she continued. "Surely they'd just use some magicky Devildom thing like that to work it out? No fighting needed."

That, Belphegor thought to himself, is actually a pretty good solution.

"They weren’t about to, but now that you’ve mentioned it…" He sent a message to his brother, who sent an awed emoji in return. "They might actually just do that." her eyes widened again. She definitely had spoken without thinking. He couldn’t help smiling at that. She wouldn’t be able to blame anyone for whatever happened next.

"This is going to go terribly. I hope Solo doesn't try to cook something up for me to try." He laughed.

"Oh, you're going to have a terrible time trying to hide who you like. You should just come clean on it. Satan, right?" Infy glared at him. "No? Then Solomon?" Her gaze only darkened. "Simeon and I are betting it's one of them. 200 grimm from each of us."

"You' kidding, you're actually betting on that?!?"

"Of course, it's too much fun."

She groaned and slouched onto the table, her head in her hands. She mumbled something he didn't catch. She really was too easy to tease, he thought to himself.

He loved that about her.

But he was the only one that there was no way she'd love. The one damn thing they could all agree on, apparently. Even Mammon had a few bets on his head. Murder just seemed like a deal-breaker.

Oh well. It meant that he could spend time with her while the others argued in the council room about which of them would be the one for her.

And he got to see her pout.

And smack her head onto the history book.

Yeah, he really wasn't helping her study.
