Chapter Text

The phone rings, an unknown number flashing on the screen. Yoongi’s eyebrows knit together, very few people have access to his personal number, sweat trickles down the back of his neck as a premonition sets in.

“We have your child.” A smooth voice says.

Yoongi immediately knows what’s going on, he knew his son would be a target as the son of the CEO but he had taken all measures to prevent this day,  but now he feels helpless, his voice rough with worry as he says, “Don’t lay a finger on him or you’re dead. Now, what are your demands?”

There is a tense silence for a beat.

“Bitch, this is the daycare! We’re closing for the day you better come pick him up.” The voice says filled with sass and annoyance.

Yoongi does a double take.

“Umm-I-I’m sorry what?”

“This is the daycare you enrolled your son in last week, nobody came to pick him up today and it’s already an hour past the closing time, I can’t stay with him any longer so you better come pick him up.” The voice repeats and realization finally sets in for Yoongi.

“O-Oh right. Right, umm so umm his Nana didn’t uhh pick him up yet?” He asks dumbly and the man on the other end of the phone grunts in irritation.

“Ughh…I just said nobody came to get him and he’s here with me what part of that do you not understand? Or are you the one who needs an early childhood educator instead of your son?”

The man reprimands him and Yoongi’s eyebrows go up to his hairline, nobody’s ever talked back to him like that. He feels a burning curiosity as to who this soft yet stern sounding man is and just how he has balls of steel to be scolding the CEO and owner of Korea’s biggest entertainment company.

“Umm he-llo. Did I stun you into silence or are you searching for a comeback?”

Yoongi can’t help it, a light chuckle leaves him.

“Are you seriously laughing right now?” The man on the phone asks incredulously and then starts muttering to himself in anger; Yoongi has trouble making it out but bless his great hearing sense he’s able to understand of it.

“...Oh I fucking hate these rich inconsiderate ass swipes… think they’re the only ones who matter, I have a life! My time is precious but….shitty jerk can’t even do his own job right. Fuck…late for the date…I’ll have to reschedule.” Yoongi’s ears especially perk up at date; somehow he doesn’t like the idea of this man going on dates with someone else.

“I’m extremely sorry; I’ll come over right away.” Yoongi apologizes.

“Okay.” The man says and cuts the call.

Cuts the call.

Nobody has ever hung up the phone on him; Yoongi’s always the one who ends a conversation curtly and leaves, the way this guy just did.

Ha, so this is what it feels like.

Yoongi smiles to himself and gets up from his desk, slipping on his midnight black blazer over his white shirt and leaves his office to head down to the parking on his private elevator.

‘This is going to be interesting’ he thinks as he gets into his Palisade.

He calls his housekeeper/babysitter and she picks up within the first ring, “Nana, where are you?”

“Well good afternoon to you too, Mr. Min. I’m at my daughter’s house today we had plans for lunch.”

“Then who did you ask to pick up Haneul? I just got a call from his daycare that he’s still there and no one showed up to take him home. This is really irresponsible behavior, I get that you have to spend time with your family but that doesn’t mean you’ll completely forget mine.” He chides and the elderly lady just laughs.

“Hmm but you’re the one who was supposed to pick him up, I put it into the calendar on the fridge that I’ll be off after 12 pm, so someone will have to get Haneul from the daycare, I also wrote the address of the place and the number of the sweet teacher that works there. Oh but did you forget to check the fridge again in your early morning haste? Too bad, now you’ll have to go in person. I’ve texted you the address.” Yoongi checked to see that indeed the woman had sent the details.

“Oh and give my warmest regards to Mr. Park.” She said all too sweetly and Yoongi’s hackles rose, the old lady was on to something and he had no idea what.

God save Min Yoongi from Mrs. Kim’s secret plans and scheming.

But he smiled nonetheless, he was happy the woman had taken time off to go visit her daughter and her grandchildren. Yoongi loved his kid’s Nana dearly; she had been a pillar of support for the past seven years. Ever since Yoongi’s music company had taken off and he had moved into a posh penthouse, he’d needed a housekeeper to keep a semblance of order in his home and life.

Throughout the all nighters, being in the studio recording with artists, or in meeting rooms signing deals, Yoongi was barely able to stay at home for more than six hours much less clean, cook, keep everything stocked. So he had been even more grateful for kind and caring Mrs. Kim who treated him like her own son and made sure not only that he was fed and he had clean clothes but that he took breaks when he was too exhausted and that he had a sounding board and an advisor at times when he felt weighed down by something.

She had been there for him through everything, even when a conniving actress-wannabe tried to trap him into marriage so that she’d get access to his connections, his wealth and become famous. The woman had been a one night stand but unbeknownst to Yoongi she gave him faulty protection so that she’d get pregnant with Yoongi’s child. When she did, Yoongi immediately freaked out, he felt violated and helpless. He was not ready to have a child much less be with a woman like her.

Even then it was Mrs. Kim who stepped in and took matter in her own hands, she found some dirt on that actress and made her an offer- hand over the kid along with all rights and custody, then leave Yoongi’s life forever and we’ll pay you a hefty sum. Or don’t and we’ll splash your scandal in all the tabloids, no one in the industry will ever touch you and you’ll be broke before even the first hearing of the custody lawsuit is over.

The woman chose the former option, obviously.

And nine months later Min Haneul was born. All the worries and inhibitions and regrets in Yoongi’s mind flew away the moment he held him in his arms the first time.

He cried.

His whole life was in those tiny palms now; he didn’t care about music, about his company or about any of that. He only cared for this miniature human who had the same eyes and nose as him and whose heartbeat was the sweetest sound Yoongi had ever heard in his decade long music career. He’d do anything for him and he was sure as hell going to be the best dad ever even if he didn’t know how.

He moved out of that Penthouse and bought a charming cozy mansion with a huge grassy backyard in Gangnam’s residential area. He cut off all the toxic people from his life, anyone who said a word against his kid could kiss his contact with Min PD goodbye. People who were terrible influences on Yoongi or who wouldn’t be good role models for Haneul to grow up around were kicked out of his life as well.

And Mrs. Kim took on the role of Haneul’s Grandma, his babysitter, his caretaker, his Nana. Despite his busy schedule, Yoongi made time for his son. He didn’t want to miss any part of Haneul’s upbringing, always making it a point to show up for his milestones even if it meant missing an important meeting.

The whole industry knew this, and mostly people admired and respected him for it. But Dispatch, as always, tried to dig for dirt and publish something negative about Yoongi, Haneul or Haneul’s mother, but aside from the statement made by Min Entertainment’s PR team that Yoongi had hired a surrogate to have his son, nothing else could be found regarding the identity of the mystery woman and her relationship with Yoongi.

A few doubted the legitimacy of why a rising producer and CEO would have a son willingly through surrogacy but that was silenced soon when Yoongi gave interviews and answered questions about his son, he protected his son from the spotlight and media fiercely but he was very open and honest about how much he loved him. It was evident to anyone watching that Yoongi was a doting father.

He made the headlines when he missed all the end of the year award shows because Haneul was sick with the FIu, and the media along with public collectively fawned over him. He was titled ‘Most Eligible Bachelor and Perfect Daddy’ and soon women and men started desperately trying to catch his attention and get close to his son for their own benefit.

Yoongi, who was already very protective about Haneul, just doubled that and almost no one from his line of work was allowed to come on contact with Haneul, even artists he had worked with for years wouldn’t be permitted to meet his son.

Now Haneul is four years old and Yoongi is twenty nine. His company has grown exponentially, his genuine talent, drive and perfectionist behavior has helped Min Ent. Become the leader, now he not only works in the music industry but also the film and drama industry. Some of the most promising upcoming actors had been scouted and signed to Min Ent. by him personally and given great projects which led to their success and Yoongi couldn’t be more proud.

But this also means a lot of workload for him, but he has learnt to set work-life boundaries and is doing rather well. Well of course, other than staying up till 2 A.M. while making music in his home-studio. His role at the company has become more management focused and he doesn’t get as much time to do what he loves- make music- so he has to take out time from his night hours, which leads to him running late each morning, rarely eating a full breakfast much less checking the Calendar.

Which is why he is sitting in his car while waiting for the traffic light to turn green so he can pick up his son. If he knew beforehand he would’ve wrapped up the meeting earlier but now he has been forced to postpone it. He can’t ask someone else other than Nana to pick Haneul up, he doesn’t trust people, especially when it comes to his son, he is very very cautious.

He pulls up next to the quaint and beautiful building of the Daycare. As Yoongi gets out of the car he reads the display board which reads how it was a daycare and preschool for toddlers from age 2 to 5, he smiles. Haneul is turning 5 next year and after that he’s going to be starting elementary school, his little boy has grown so much.

Yoongi enters the main reception area and a young girl is sitting behind the desk chewing her gum, when she sees Yoongi recognition flashes through her eyes and she gasps.

“Oh my god you’re Min PD, you’re the producer for U4RIA, r-right? I love that duo!! They’re signed to your company too, oh my- I can’t believe you’re in front of me!” She shrieks and Yoongi internally face palms.

Not another fan of those two fuckers.

Don’t get him wrong, he dearly loves Namjoon and Jungkook but their fans could get annoying sometimes. He understands that U4RIA is at their peak right now, rightfully so, and although they have the most amazing and kind fandom out of most bands right now, some fans, like this girl, could be a bit pushy. Especially since she worked here and would find out who Haneul is and then next thing you know she’d be badgering Haneul to get an autograph of her Oppas.

Yoongi fixes a polite smile on his face, despite his personal feelings he has an image to uphold, and artists to represent.

“Ah yes, I work with them, could you please direct me to umm the Cat room?” He asks and it takes the girl two full minutes before her brain processes the information.

“Oh yes yes, we have rooms with name of animals, right I totally knew that. Let me just...” She fiddles through some papers on the desk in confusion.

Great she’s clueless about her own workplace.

Yoongi hates incompetent people.

Finally she nods, “Yes please follow me, this way.”

She leads him down a corridor which has colorful doors on both sides, each door having a different animal as a theme. They stop at the door with a bunch of cat faces and she turns around to give him a seductive smile which makes Yoongi’s skin crawl.

“Here you go, and umm I’m Minah by the way, I’m eighteen and legal so uhh if you want I could give you my number, you can pass it along to RM and JK, or you can call me yourself, I’m a big fan of your music too. I’m very open and down to anything.”

Yoongi can’t keep that polite mask on his face and instead chooses to ignore her advances and pushes through the door. Leaving a disgruntled looking Minah with the door closing in her face.

Fuck, she’s basically a kid what the fuck would make her think any of us would want something. I really hate people sometimes, let’s hope she’s not smart enough to figure out who my son is otherwise we’ll have problems.

He shakes his head and instead focuses on the room he’s in; it’s surprisingly beautiful and tolerable for a room that has like a million cat faces. The wallpaper is a soft pastel yellow with tiny cute paw prints; there are many drawings and illustrations as well as toddler scrawls of kittens and cats all around. He can’t put his finger on it but for some reason the whole room has such a positive and happy vibe. The toys have mostly been kept away and the chairs folded and stored for tomorrow. The place really was empty when he came in and even here he can see that they had closed.

He feels a pang of guilt.

“Appa?”

A familiar voice calls out and Yoongi turns to see his son emerging from a back room.

Yoongi grins widely, “Han-ah, how’s my lil champ.” Yoongi picks him up and settles him against his side, a much loved position.

“Nana did not come, so Mr. Park and I gave Barbie a birthday party.” The four year old tells him excitedly and Yoongi looks back towards the back door in time to see the human incarnation of Aphrodite walk into the room.

Yoongi’s breath catches in his throat, his eyes taking in the soft blonde hair, the sharp jaw line, the pouty big lips, the gorgeous dark eyes, the cutest nose he has ever seen and a body hidden under an oversized yellow sweater which had golf written all over it. There is an angry pout on the face which looks way more cute than scary.

Gosh, if he looks this cute when he’s mad, I’d probably rile him up on purpose.

Yoongi’s eyes travel down to the fitted blue jeans he’s wearing and he gulps when he sees how thick and muscly this man’s thighs are.

“Hello, you must be Haneul’s Appa, I’m his Teacher Park Jimin. We talked over the phone.” The gorgeous man says and Yoongi’s eyes widen.

So this is the man who told him off, somehow that sassy and bold personality seems to contradict how soft, adorable and harmless the guy in front of him looks. Yoongi has never been intrigued by someone more.

“Min Yoongi, pleasure to meet you.” Yoongi says while extending his hand and when the other places his palm, Yoongi almost coos at how small and soft his hands are.

“The pleasure is definitely all yours, Mr. Min.” Jimin says icily, the sharp words coming out from plump lips. Lips that Yoongi has a hard time keeping his eyes away from.

“Haneul, why don’t you go check on your dolls, make sure you’ve said goodbye to everyone before leaving?” Jimin’s voice becomes unbelievingly soft and loving as he turns his gaze to the child with a bright smile on his face.

Yoongi is blinded by the blatant display of beauty, who told this teacher that he could just smile like that in front of Yoongi and expect the man to not gather him up in his arms.

Haneul too, is visibly affected by it and easily obeys. Going off towards the Doll house where he pats all his dolls hairs and whispers farewell. Yoongi thinks that Jimin probably doesn’t have a hard time getting children to listen to him; he’s as pretty as a faerie prince and which four year old doesn’t want to make a faerie happy.

Jimin’s eyes return to him and the fire is back. He starts whispering furiously.

“I’ve been waiting here for 90 minutes past the time I was supposed to be out that door, I had plans, plans that I had to cancel because of how irresponsible you’ve been. He’s your son, how could you not arrange for someone to pick him up, you didn’t even know he was still here. I get that you might be some big busy man but he’s your child, Mr. Min. It’s your duty to ensure that he’s looked after and you need to be proactive.”

He finishes, still looking pretty peeved, and Yoongi just stares.

Jimin’s cheeks are flushed pink from all the anger, he’s slightly breathless, his gaze holds the ire of Hades and some of his pushed back  blonde bangs have fallen onto his eyes. Yoongi is entranced, this man is too damn gorgeous for him to handle. And the way he’s putting Yoongi in his place, tugs at the bottom of his heart.

Because it shows that he gives a shit about Haneul’s wellbeing and whether or not his parent is giving him the attention he deserves. Yoongi has never encountered a teacher who cared this much about his students, it reminds him of the time when he was a poor high school student along with being a struggling musician.

He had to choose bus rides to auditions over three meals a day. It obviously meant he was low on energy all the time, especially in school. He can still feel the phantom pains of the head teacher’s ruler hitting his wrists as a punishment for dozing off in class.

If only Mr. Song had cared enough to even ask Yoongi whether he was okay….

Jimin’s exasperated and impatient exhale brings him out of his reverie and without any thought over his actions he reaches out and gently tucks the strands of golden hair back behind Jimin’s ears, the teacher takes a sharp shaky inhale and Yoongi can see him gulp and some of his anger; disappear.

Yoongi stares deeply into his eyes and speaks in his deep baritone.

“I’m really very genuinely sorry that this happened, I have a person employed specifically as my son’s Nana and our housekeeper, she takes care of Haneul but she’s on leave today and I missed the memo she sent me about arranging a pick up for Haneul. Even though I am a busy man that’s no excuse for fucking up, I love my son and I am very protective over him. I’m also quite proactive in his life and always make sure I’m doing the best I can as his father.”

Jimin looks stunned, he was not expecting such an honest and sincere apology from a rich dad today, he feels a sliver of guilt for being too harsh on the pretty pale man with distractingly long and veiny hands.

“Ohh-umm yeah that’s okay. It happens to the best of us, umm maybe you should ask Haneul’s Eomma to also share more load, she can come pick him up.” Jimin offers and shivers when the other man lets out a dark chuckle.

“I’m a single dad, unmarried. I never really needed or wanted someone to share the load with but that might be changing now, Jimin.”

Jimin blushes slightly because this handsome and gentle man is single and it sounds like he’s flirting with him. Ugh, Jimin’s just projecting, but it’s not his fault when Yoongi pronounces his name as if he’s caressing all the letters softly and reverently.

Jimin clears his throat to collect himself, “Oh well then it’s a good thing you hired a nanny. Uhmm just make sure it doesn’t repeat again.”

Yoongi smirks, clearly aware of the effect he’s having on the teacher.

“As much fun as it is talking to you I believe I’ve been keeping you from having a life, so I’ll take my leave now.” Yoongi teases knowingly and Jimin bites his lips, so the man had heard his mutterings.

Jimin nods jerkily and Yoongi smiles before calling up Haneul who hugs Jimin goodbye fondly before putting his hand in his father’s and leaving with him.

As Yoongi exits the building making sure the weird receptionist isn’t there to see who his kid is, he smiles to himself. Oh He’ll definitely be picking up Haneul from now on.

Yoongi has always been a man who knows what he wants and knows it right away. Whether it is about business decisions or creative choices in his music, he isn’t someone who’s indecisive.

 And now, he wants Jimin.

He drives off while listening to an excited Han chatter about how much fun he had with his Mr. Park and how much he likes his new teacher and his new friends and Yoongi has a suspicion that he isn’t the only Min with a crush on the blonde faerie.

Jimin on the other hand has a hard time pulling his shit together before he can leave the daycare for the day and head back to his empty apartment.

He had a blind date set up today, thanks to his best friend Hoseok who was constantly trying to set Jimin up with men since he knew his friend was lonely. But when his favorite student was still in class all alone with no one coming to pick him up he had dropped everything to stay there with him. He was very angry that a parent could just forget about their kid like that and that had shone through when he had scolded said parent over the phone.

He had been expecting some rude and self-important prick to show up but never in a million years had he imagined Haneul’s dad to be this dashing and suave yet gentle young man with a very pretty face, beautiful feline eyes which he could see had been passed down to Haneul and the sexiest hands he had ever laid eyes on.

Now if you knew Jimin you’d know he had a thing for hands, and also for necks and definitely for hands on necks. You can say it. Jimin had a choking kink and hands like that with a commanding presence like Mr. Min’s were the perfect combination for his wildest fantasies. He already knew it would leave him in a cold sweat with his dick half hard at 2 am.

But more than that he had been drawn in by how genuine and adoring the man had seemed. Jimin had been working in the Daycare for four years now; he loved his job, because it paid him to do his absolute favorite thing in the world, looking after small children.

He loved teaching them, playing with them and being the idol they all looked up to which is why he kept his sailor mouth strictly stored away while with his kids. He had grown up with no siblings of his own but a very care giving nature which meant he baby sat for almost all the neighborhood families and enjoyed it too.

So after getting an early childhood education degree he looked for the right place to employ his skills and once he found a healthy environment with a good paycheck he stuck with it.

Jimin’s paycheck was actually maddeningly good, the reason being that the daycare preschool he worked for catered to really wealthy clientele. The downside was that he’d have to deal with a lot of spoilt brats as well as their rich jerk parents.

In his tenure he had seen all sorts of crazy parents, from the nitpicky asshole-y kind to ones who didn’t give two fucks. But he hadn’t really seen a dad who shared such a deep connection with his son. He was glad Haneul had such an amazing father, even if he had just one parent he’d have a better upbringing than most of his classmates with two parents.

And last but not least that hot single dad had maybe been hitting on him; he didn’t give a fuck about that missed date now.

But Jimin knows Hobi would kill him so he reschedules his date for next week even though his mind is actually filled by a certain raven haired, pale skinned man with a voice deeper and raspier than any sane gay can handle.

The next day, Jimin goes about his day as he normally would, he does catch himself slipping when he asks Haneul about who will be coming to pick him up. Now, it would’ve been a normal innocent question born out of concern from the day before if only Jimin’s smile hadn’t dimmed when Haneul replied with, “Oh Nana comes to pick me up.”

Jimin admonishes the hope he had secretly been harboring about seeing the handsome man again and decides to give up on it. But he’s not really allowed that when Mr. Min shows up in yet another sharp suit tailored to compliment his body lines.

“Hello, Mr. Min, I see you’ve come to pick Haneul up today as well. Is the Nana on leave?” Jimin asks politely and Yoongi smiles like the cat that ate the canary before answering.

“No, Jimin I wanted to pick him up myself and thought I’d apologize properly for yesterday.”

Jimin bites his lips in confusion which is evident in his eyes, Yoongi holds his hand out and Jimin hesitates slightly before placing his in it. He gasps when Yoongi’s hand grips him tightly yet gently, engulfing his small hand and running his thumb lightly on the inside of his wrist.

God, why do you give me such a hard time?

Jimin thinks to himself and Yoongi leads him out of the class and Jimin lets out a surprised squeak.

There right across the door is a huge flower arrangement on a stand, complete with a banner that reads Forgive me Jimin.

“Oh my god! What is this?” The teacher asks and Yoongi chuckles before shaking his head a bit.

“Don’t be so overwhelmed it’s just flowers, I thought they’d be fitting since you smell like sweet flowers and I was told they’re the best way to apologize.”

Jimin stares at him dumbly; he’s very moved by this and also freaked out, nobody’s ever given him flowers before. Ever. And his first time is by the hottest man on earth that he mayhaps have already developed a crush on but as an apology!

Jimin’s really upset; the flowers feel like a mockery, he’s never getting the real thing, flowers given to him by a lover, especially not by someone as perfect as Yoongi. He knows it’s not even Yoongi’s fault but as his usual self he just lashes out and uses anger and sassy remarks as a coping mechanism.

“Maybe they meant a Bouquet, what the fuck is this? How am I even supposed to carry it?”

Yoongi’s eyes widen in panic, he had definitely not thought that one through after he got this delivered here with him. He stutters, “O-oh umm you can carry- no you can just keep it here. I can shift it to uhh inside the room. Your kids will like it, children like flowers, right?”

Jimin rolls his eyes, “This is a child hazard, look at all those sticks and I bet they sprayed a bunch of toxic things on this to make it smell good and look fresh. And if you didn’t know, children are very curious and can put new things into their mouth. Or did you not know that basic detail?”

Yoongi looks chastised, “Umm I’m really sorry.”

“Yeah I know the banner says it.” Jimin snarks while folding his hands.

Yoongi feels really lost and also slightly turned on at the thought of possibly making this defiant and sassy blonde surrender and turn submissive in his hands. An image of Jimin on all fours in his master bed pushing his ass out and begging to be filled takes over his mind and he has to mentally slap himself.

Stop having inappropriate thoughts, Min.

Jimin taps his feet impatiently and Yoongi looks at him guiltily, “Umm I’m sorry, I’ll get them removed right away.”

Jimin rolls his eyes, “You better. Good day, Mr. Min.”

Jimin sashays back inside the room putting a little more sway to his hips than is needed and Yoongi stares at his ass like a fool. His son comes out of the room with his backpack, ready to go and Yoongi sighs before calling up his delivery guy to pick up the flowers.

Park Jimin is one tough nut to crack and Min Yoongi is more than willing to try.

He had asked Mrs. Kim about what to do when apologizing to someone, she had laughed all too knowingly and told him that flowers are the way to someone’s heart and best for apologies. Yoongi had called the florist and asked them for their best arrangement to be delivered here. But he had fucked up and not thought it through, now he had made that faerie even angrier.

Jimin on the other hand is on cloud nine the rest of the day, dreamy eyed about the fact that Yoongi gave him flowers. He pushes back the thoughts of why Yoongi did so because that’s just depressing and focuses on how the man had seemed so nervous when Jimin had expressed his displeasure, it makes Jimin feel important. His reaction mattered to his crush-

Wait, did he just say crush

As much as Jimin wants to, he can’t deny that he has developed a teeny tiny crush on Min Yoongi, one he knows can easily turn into deeper feelings if he doesn’t keep himself in check. But then again, he doesn’t need to worry about it because firstly Yoongi doesn’t like him like that and secondly he’s hardly gonna see the man again. He’s a busy guy and after today Jimin probably scared him off from even trying to be a good interactive parent.

Jimin frowns at that but he feels like this will be better for him, keep him from doing something as stupid as getting attached to his favorite student’s father.

But the next day he’s proven wrong and for the first time he feels very very glad at that.

When the daycare hours end, Yoongi shows up yet again to pick up Haneul with a bright expectant smie on his face.

“Well, well, well. Look who it is. Miss my pretty face, Mr. Min?” Jimin teases and Yoongi smirks.

“As a matter of fact I did, your face is really way too gorgeous for me to not miss.”

Jimin blushes hard and Yoongi chuckles.

“And well, since you didn’t like the ones yesterday, I hope you like this.” Yoongi says before pulling out his right hand from behind him which has a beautiful bouquet of red roses.

Jimin gasps in awe, he’s never seen roses this pretty, Yoongi’s florist really does do an excellent job.

He accepts the flowers from the man’s hands and looks them over again and sees the note that is attatched. He reads it, “I’m sorry, Jimin.”

Immediately his eyes flash in hurt and disappointment. He got swept up in the moment and forgot the actual reason Yoongi was giving him this bouquet. He thrusts them back to Yoongi and places a mask of indifference over his features.

“Too bad I’m allergic to roses.”

Yoongi immediately shifts the offending flowers behind him, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry are you okay? Should I call an ambulance? I can drive you to the hospital.” He looks worried and that makes Jimin feel guilty for lying. He’s such a despicable mess he wants to cry.

“No, no I’m fine but I can’t have them close for too long.” Jimin lies and Yoongi nods.

“Anyway, I think Haneul is ready to go. Good day, Mr. Min.” He says and just like yesterday he sashays away while Yoongi checks out his fine ass.

“Who are those for, dad?” Haneul asks him while pointing to the roses.

“Well, they were supposed to be for your dear Mr. Park but he’s allergic to them, guess I’ll have to try again on Monday.” Yoongi says while leading his son down to the exit.

Haneul’s quiet for a while and speaks up once they’re in the car.

“Mr. Park is mine, you can’t have him, Appa. I will marry him, I already asked him and he said yes, so you can’t bring him flowers anymore.” The little boy says very grimly and Yoongi bursts out laughing at his serious expression.

“Ah-I- Han-ah, you can’t marry Mr. Park.”

“But when we were marrying the two dolls and I asked Mr. Park that we should also marry, he said I could marry him once I become a big boy.” Haneul protests cutely and Yoongi can’t help the grin on his face.

“Hmm well Haneul, you still have many years to go before you become a big boy, what if some stranger married Mr. Park before that?” Yoongi asks him seriously, holding back his laughter.

“No, no Mr. Park will not do that.” The boy shakes his head adorably.

“But he might get lonely and bored. Don’t you get lonely too when Suyoung doesn’t come over to play on the weekends and then you invite Jisu.”

Haneul nods his head.

“So how about a deal? Appa can marry Mr. Park so that way you can have him as your other dad, and then when you become a big boy you can ask him to marry you?”

Haneul takes his time mulling it over and finally responds, “Yes, if Mr. Park marries Appa he will live with us and then I can play with him all the time. When I become big, I can marry him too. Okay, deal.”

Haneul hols out his hand for the elder to shake and Yoongi smiles fondly before grasping the tiny hand in his and giving a solid handshake, “Deal.”

They drive home and over the weekend, Haneul turns out to be a better partner in crime than Yoongi could’ve imagined him to be. He tells Yoongi many details about Jimin, his favorite color (White), his favorite movie (The Notebook) and anything else that Jimin has said while interacting with the kids.

He also tells Yoongi that Jimin loves home-made dumplings but doesn’t know how to cook them which prompts Yoongi to try learn how to make dumplings, him and Haneul turning the kitchen into a disaster until Mrs. Kim has to threaten them into leaving.

On Monday, Yoongi spends a lot of time deciding which flowers to pick for Jimin and end up selecting white lilies since Jimin might like then due to the color, whereas in the daycare Jimin gets a lot of questions about what he likes, what he hates thrown at him by a very suspiciously determined looking Haneul.

Interacting so much with the kid reminds Jimin of his dad and he caves and asks Haneul whether his father will be coming to pick him up today as well. Haneul smiles mischievously at him and nods. And it makes Jimin’s spirits soar, he feels silly at letting someone who has no interest in him have such a hold on his emotions but he can’t help it, he’s always been silly when it comes to crushes.

When Yoongi does turn up he presents Jimin with a gorgeous lilly bouquet which Jimin accepts with a  huge smile until his eyes find the note again, upon which his smile dampens and he calls for Haneul.

“Thankyou for the flowers although I don’t like lilies, I appreciate the sentiment.” He says a bit coldly to mask his hurt and Yoongi cocks his head to the side curiously. He had clearly seen the teacher smiling upon seeing his gift but suddenly he’s acting indifferent.

“Well then what flowers do you like? I’ll bring those.” He asks and Jimin decides to throw caution to the wind and looks at him seductively through hooded eyes, “Oh no, you’ve gotta work for it.”

He flirts boldly and Yoongi’s nostrils flare, this sphinx will be the death of him.

“Anything for you.” Yoongi says in a deep voice and Jimin almost shivers before he flips and walks off, making Yoongi’s usual admiring session even more deadly when he bends down slowly, purposefully since he knows Yoongi always checks him out; every functioning man does, to pick up a toy, his fat round ass completely on display with the fabric of his pants stretching tightly across the flesh. Yoongi has to all but hold the door frame to stop himself from grabbing Jimin’s godly behind.

When Haneul and Yoongi are in the car, the kid immediately launches into a sermon about all the information he was able to collect, pretending to be a spy as he tells Yoongi that Jimin likes Jerry more than he likes Tom.

Yoongi laughs and plays along and they address each other as ‘Top secret agent Min Han’ and ‘Top secret agent boss Min Yoon’.

The next day goes by in a similar manner and Jimin starts to get a bit suspicious of all the questions Haneul’s asking him, when Yoongi turns up with yet another bouquet of pretty white flowers, daisies this time, he has to wipe the pleased smile off his face.

“Daisies are so mainstream, you can do better than that, Mr. Min.” He tsks and Yoongi smirks slowly, he’s starting to understand the game Jimin is playing and lucky for him Yoongi always wins.

“Well, there’s always tomorrow, Jimin-ah. Good day.”

This time it’s Jimin’s turn to stare as the man walks off, checking out just how good his shoulders look from the back in that blazer.

When Jimin reaches home, his thoughts are filled with a specific fair skinned man with an intimidating aura, yet who seems nothing but gentle when around Jimin. He can’t stop overthinking, why would Mr. Min continue to bring him flowers; it’s literally been almost a week since that incident. Yet he keeps showing up every day, with that god forsaken smirk, those beautiful flowers and those simple yet flirty words which mess up Jimin’s  mind. He can’t wrap his head around it.

Does he like Jimin or is he just being nice? If he does like Jimin, which is impossible, does he want a one-time thing or is he looking for more? If not then why the fuck if he playing with Jimin’s emotions like that? Doesn’t he know Jimin gets attached too easily?

It’s all this running through his head when he read the text from Hoseok, reminding him that his date is set for the day after tomorrow and warning him to not cancel again. Jimin sighs deeply, if he was being honest with himself, he’d admit that he’s too wrapped up in Yoongi to give two shits about this blind date. He couldn’t care less, but given the way he’s confused about everything and unsure of Yoongi’s intentions (and also a coward at admitting his feelings), he quickly texts Hoseok back in the affirmative and makes up his mind to go on a nice date and try his best to catch feelings for a man who actually wants him back.

But it seems like there are two Jimins living inside him because when Yoongi gives him flowers the next day, white Tulips, he casually responds, “Hmm these don’t smell that good, I hope my date tomorrow doesn’t bring these along.”

Yoongi’s eyes narrow and he feels an irrational fire of jealousy and possessiveness that he knows he has no right to feel, “Oh? You have a date tomorrow?”

He tries to keep his voice nonchalant but some irritation still slips into his tone although Jimin doesn’t notice it, too preoccupied at internally cursing himself out for telling Yoongi about his date for no fucking reason.

It’s not like he cares. Jimin thinks while he nods and sassily tells the man, “Yeah, the one I had to reschedule because of you. Its right after the Daycare hours so you better not be late or I’ll have to cancel again. I really want to go on a date so if it gets canceled because of you I might just force you to fill in for him.”

Jimin cringes internally; he doesn’t know why he said that but Yoongi’s whole demeanor changes.

He smirks darkly.

“Don’t worry, Jimin-ah. You’ll go on the best date of your life tomorrow. I’ll make sure of it.”

He leaves with his son and Jimin is left befuddled not understanding what the fuck came over him to say something like that, and definitely not getting what Yoongi’s last words meant.

He probably meant he won’t be late.

Jimin thinks but he can’t help the small voice at the back of his head which tells him that Yoongi might’ve taken that as an invitation to take Jimin out on a date, but that’s just his inner delulu speaking.

Although that doesn’t stop him from dressing up very prettily the next day, in a flowy silk crème dress shirt and tight pants he knows his ass looks delectable in, the only problem being that he dresses up with a certain daddy in mind rather than his date.

Although it plays out in his favor when Yoongi doesn’t show up to pick up Haneul, the kid acting all excited and happy despite being the only toddler in the class. Jimin acts all exasperated when he texts Hoseok that he’ll have to postpone again, but inside he’s feeling giddy with hope. Hope that Yoongi did this on purpose; hope that he wants to take Jimin out.

When Yoongi finally shows up two hours late, in a very dashing black suit, having opted out of wearing a tie instead leaving the first two buttons open. Jimin almost licks his lips at how good the man looks.

Yoongi checks him out again and again, not speaking at all after seeing how deep Jimin’s neckline goes and just how good his hair looks when he styles it purposefully.

“Hmm I wonder why you’re two hours late when I specifically told you I had a date.” Jimin folds his hands and Yoongi smirks a little, “Sorry.”

“You don’t sound sorry at all.” Jimin tilts his head and Yoongi’s smirk turns into a full blown grin.

“Oh but I can make it up to you, how about I take you on a date instead. I promise it’ll be better than whatever that douchebag had planned.”

Jimin giggles, “You don’t even know his name yet you’re calling him a douchebag?”

“He’s taking you on a date instead of me, of course he’s a douchebag.” Yoongi mumbles but it’s too low for Jimin’s ears.

“I should probably just go home. I’m tired, I don’t really feel like going on a date especially a forced one, it’s okay Mr. Min you can take your son home.” Jimin sighs dramatically.

Yoongi moves closer to him, and gently reaches out for his hand.

“What and let this sinful outfit go to waste? Tsk tsk not on my watch.” Yoongi says and brings his hand up to kiss gently.

“Jimin it’d be my pleasure to fill in.” His smoldering gaze burns into Jimin and he blushes hard. He turns around to walk back and grab his bag.

“Uh-umm okay yeah, I’m free and I did put on my good pants for this.”

“Oh believe me the pants are well appreciated.” Yoongi says darkly and Jimin turns to find his fiery gaze on his ass.

Jimin smiles to himself; Mission accomplished.

They exit out and Yoongi sends Haneul into another car while they move to another one, a sleek back Aston Martin.

Jimin laughs as he realizes Yoongi had planned this quite thoroughly. He whistles appreciatively.

“You really thought ahead and brought a driver to drop Haneul home even though you came two hours late.” Jimin folds his hand.

Yoongi chuckles and shrugs. Jimin can see through it, “Mhmm and a sweet ride too, Astons are my favorite.”

“That’s why I brought it.” Jimin’s eyes widen, how did he know that? Then he remembers Haneul asking him his favorite car just a couple of days ago. When realization strikes he blushes hard and bites his lips, Yoongi’s eyes drop to them and his pupils darken.

Jimin can’t help his smile, He moves closer to the man.

“So you deployed a spy to get intel on me?” His voice is slightly breathless and it definitely affects Yoongi.

“Maybe I just took a wild guess and grabbed the car I thought you’d like out of the others.”

Jimin licks his lips, he has a thing for cars, and Yoongi just admitted to having many.

“Whatever you say, Mr. Min.” Jimin says and Yoongi looks down while chuckling.

“Jimin-ah, call me Hyung I know you’re two years younger and there’s no need to be on a last name basis. You can call me Mr. Min, but maybe in a bit more private setting.”

Jimin almost chokes on air at the implication coupled with the smug look in Yoongi’s face and rolls his eyes.

“Shut up. Let’s go I’m tired of waiting, Hyung.” Jimin pouts.

Yoongi smiles fondly and leads him to the passenger side opening up the door for him with finesse.

“Ouuh quite the gentleman I see.” Jimin teases before getting in and Yoongi answers smoothly, “Only for you.” before closing the door to a slightly flustered Jimin.

He starts up the car with a purr of the engine that Jimin can feel reverberating through his belly and he’d be lying if he said it doesn’t turn him on a little. He has a luxury sports car kink, so what?

Yoongi pulls out into the road, his speed high enough for the ride to be thrilling but his driving still careful that Jimin didn’t feel any worry or terror.

“So where are we going for this impromptu definitely not pre planned date of ours?” Jimin asks conversationally and Yoongi laughs.

“Hmm let’s see, first I’ll take you to my favorite restaurant because I’m sure you’re famished from all that waiting around. Then I’ll take you to another one of my favorite spots but I’m not telling where until we get there.” Yoongi teases and Jimin makes an offended face.

“Don’t get impatient now, you’ll find out soon enough.”

“Okay but what is it, I’m not under dressed for it am I?” He asks nervously and Yoongi looks over him once with intense eyes.

“Mhmm you’re perfect, baby.” Yoongi drawls and Jimin throws him a disbelieving look before giggling a bit.

He can’t help his schoolgirl with a crush behavior, he’s really down bad.

“So Yoongi hyung, since you probably know a lot of my favorite things it’d only be fair I you told me yours too.” Jimin turns his body towards him and Yoongi gives a sheepish smile.

“Well, to be fair I only know the superficial things like your favorite color, car, movie oh and you’re Team Jerry. Yeah, that was a deal breaker for me, if you had said Team Tom then we wouldn’t even have this conversation. But, the real stuff is still hidden just like I wanted it to be, I want to be the one peeling back the layers myself.” He smoothly says and Jimin rolls his eyes at how the man turned his son snitching on things Jimin likes into something sweet and flirty.

“Well anyway, we need to get even so you better tell me all of those too.”

Yoongi taps his fingers on the steering wheel and, “Ahmm let’s see, my favorite color is black, very complimentary to your white you know, the whole Yin and Yang. I’d say it was meant to be.” Yoongi throws him a loped smile and Jimin shakes his head.

“Oh shut up.”

Yoongi laughs and continues, “And well my favorite movie is Tazza, have you seen it?”

Jimin’s blank face is answer enough and Yoongi immediately bemoans his displeasure, “Nooo, you’re missing out, you have to see it, it’s my all time favorite and it’s really very good. It’s a crime thriller about gambling and money.”

“Ugh I don’t like crime thrillers. Plus it’s good in your opinion and for all I know your taste may suck.” Jimin teases and Yoongi turns to wink at him.

“My taste is you and I’d bet that’s pretty fucking fantastic.”

Jimin smacks his arms lightly, “Shut up. Oh god, Fine! I’ll watch it.”

“Nah now I can’t trust you with it, I’ll make you watch it with me that way I can make sure you actually see it.” Yoongi says and Jimin gives him a ‘are you for real’ look.

“What? Just to make sure you get to witness that masterpiece, no other reason.”Yoongi promises but there’s a smile on the corner of his lips and Jimin can’t move on from the fact that Yoongi wants to watch a movie with him, Yoongi wants to see him again.

It is this thought which keeps him from biting back and they soon pull onto the curb.

“We’re here.” Yoongi informs and Jimin looks around the street they’re on to spot a restaurant with a glass front and an elegant sign spelling out Berco’s in elegant Italics.

When Jimin pulls his attention away from the pretty store front, Yoongi’s on his side opening the door for him.

“Only for me?”

“Only for you.” Yoongi replies and extends his hand for Jimin to place his palm in and Jimin does so quite happily.

He could really get used to all this fancy gentleman treatment.

They walk into the place hand-in-hand and the hostess welcomes them with a smile.

“Ah Mr. Min, it’s a pleasure to see you.”

Yoongi nods, “Yes, I’d like my usual spot. I had called Stefano before to let him know I’d be dropping in today so I assume the table is open.”

“Ah yes sir, we reserved it for you just like you asked, although I must tell you the boss was complaining that you hardly call him other than when you want to eat his food.” She tells him suggestively and it’s very clear to both of them just what the ‘boss’ means.

Jimin’s eyes narrow a bit but Yoongi brushes it off with a relaxed laugh, “He’s been waiting for that type of a call for years now, you’d think he’d have gotten used to it. But Stephano will always be a diva.”

The hostess bursts out laughing at that and Jimin relaxes, his mood had almost crashed by the thought of Yoongi bringing them to a restaurant of a lover on their first date, but now he just feels smug that he’s  the date when the owner of this very place couldn’t be.

The woman leads them to a very secluded spot right in the corner which is out of earshot of nearby tables and looks way more tempting that the hustle bustle of the rest of the diner where Jimin can spot more pearls and diamonds than necks.

As they slide into the two chairs that are placed opposite to each other, Jimin looks around at his decadent surroundings; the place practically reeks of money, both in terms of the clientele and the interior itself.

They have a chandelier for god’s sake.

“Go through the menu and let me know what you want. If you’re unfamiliar with a dish I’ll help you out, Italian cuisine is my favorite. Ha, another one you can tick off on your list.” Yoongi jokes but it falls on deaf ears as Jimin is looking very overwhelmed.

Yoongi notices and immediately asks with concern, “Hey hey, is everything alright?”

When Jimin doesn’t answer, Yoongi reaches out to place his hand over Jimin’s, “Jimin-ah, what’s going through that pretty head of yours, tell hyung what’s bothering you?”

“Umm this place-I just-it’s too fancy for me; I don’t think I’m supposed to be here.” Jimin fidgets with the material of his dress shirt nervously, “Like, a-am I even dressed right?”

Yoongi fixes a stare at him.

“Jimin, don’t ever say something like that again. No place is ever too fancy, or too good for you. You deserve to be wherever the fuck you want.” Yoongi says passionately but Jimin looks unconvinced, he sighs and points to himself, “Eyes on me; do I look like I belong here? That I’m supposed to be here?”

Jimin nods his head immediately, Yoongi with his sharp suit; his commanding confident aura looks like he was born to dine at places like this.

“Well guess what? A decade ago I was struggling to even buy meals much less have them at a place like this. And today, I have more money and influence than half this room. So I’ve been on both sides of the spectrum and when I tell you you’re fucking amazing and you should know your worth, I mean it.”

Jimin’s jaw hangs open.

“And you’re dressed brilliantly, literally every single eye in this room turned to check out your ass when you walked in, I almost punched a guy who was looking a bit too disrespectfully. So please sit back and let me spoil you with good Italian food, how about I order some of their best dishes, would you like hyung to pick something out for you?”

Jimin nods in a daze, he can’t find words.

Yoongi signals the waiter and places the order and turns to a Jimin who has a very confused, calculating look on his face.

“Penny for your thoughts.” Yoongi smiles and Jimin looks up at him.

“Uhh hyung, what exactly is it that you do? How on earth did you get rich so quick? You’re not some type of a criminal, are you?” He asks unsurely and Yoongi’s expression clouded in confusion too.

“Wait, you have no clue who I am?”

Jimin shakes his, “Umm should I?”

“No, no. Yeah, I’m not trying to be cocky, I’m not really that famous, so yeah there’s a good chance you didn’t know me but wow-uhh, like you didn’t try to google me or something? Surely you must’ve been curious and given the type of parents of your students it’s be within reason to expect a search result of their names on google.”

Jimin looks down shyly, “I didn’t want to know who you were through the internet; I wanted you to tell me yourself, for us to get to that point. Just like you, I wanted to peel back the layers myself.”

Yoongi stares at him in awe, he was right for thinking that Park Jimin is an angel and in a league of his own. Ever since Yoongi became rich all the people who threw themselves at him knew who he was, the ones that didn’t would search before the first date. It’s why he’s never dated anyone seriously, because nobody has ever seen him as just him, nobody has ever wanted to.

Which is why he’s even happier about the visceral gut feeling he’d had about Jimin, and how it led him to pursue the man and now for the first time, he’s genuinely excited about telling who he is, because he can tell the actual story and not whatever the media prints.

Yoongi reaches out across the table for Jimin’s hand once again and when he clasps his long fingers, he smiles up gratefully at the younger.

“Thankyou, for giving me that.”

Jimin feels a bit shy and masks that with being sassy, “Yeah, you’re really lucky.”

“That I am. Believe me, I know. And to answer your question, I’m a producer and the CEO of the company I made from the ground up, Min Entertainment, have you heard of it?”

Jimin looks embarrassed, “No sorry I haven’t, I d-don’t really keep up with all those things.”

Yoongi’s smile turns into a grin, “That’s totally fine, it’s actually pretty amazing and refreshing. Hmm let me think though, have you heard of the actor Kim Seokjin?”

“Ouuh yes, I know him; he’s in that drama as the main lead with the villain played by Kim Taehyung, right? Oh god! The whole nation knows about those two and their chemistry it’s literally all my co-workers talk about these days. They’re both very hot though, so completely understandable.”

Yoongi chuckles, “Yeah right chemistry, those two can’t stand each other in real life, sworn enemies but if you ask me they just need to smash because there’s just too much sexual tension.”

“Oh wow you know them?” Jimin’s eyes widen.

“Pfft know them? I basically invented them, I’m the one that took their auditions and signed them to our company, I got them their first dramas and made sure that once they started rising, they’d be managed perfectly and now they’re two of the biggest actors in the industry and also really good friends of mine. I’m so proud of everything they’ve achieved.” Yoongi has a fond smile in place.

Jimin stares at him, wondering how someone can be this beautiful; he pulls himself out of his stupor, “Okay so you handle actors?”

“No, we also manage musicians, U4RIA is currently our most popular act but we have many individual artists.”

“Ouhh I’ve heard of them.” Jimin nods.

“Yeah so it’s the music and acting industry that we dabble in but I’m also exploring modeling these days, I think there’s a lot of scope.” Yoongi explains.

Jimin hums, “So how did you get to this point?”

“I worked hard for it, really fucking hard. And I never took anything for granted, I do think I was a bit lucky that things did fall into place for me but at the end of the day it was my dedication that paid the bills.”

Jimin listens raptly which urges Yoongi to keep talking and he opens up about his humble beginnings, about all his sacrifices, his successes and more importantly his failures. At some parts Jimin can’t help the wave of emotion that passes through him, he wants to cry for the 18 year old Min Yoongi who was ridiculed by his idols, his heart aches for the 21 year old Min PD who got exploited again and again, he gets hella angry about 24 year old Yoongi whose music was stolen and plagiarized.

Throughout the conversation, he keeps asking questions and prompting Yoongi to keep talking, something that Yoongi rarely does with people; especially new people. And they never stop holding hands.

When the meal is served, Jimin’s mouth waters at the delicious scents wafting off of the plates.

They dig into the food, Raviloli, Spaghetti and fresh bread. Jimin moans as the first bite hits his tongue.

“Fuck this is so mhmm good hyung.” He says and when he opens his eyes, he finds Yoongi’s ravenous gaze on him, looking hungry but not for food.

He realizes just what type of noises he had been making and smiles mischievously, “What happened, Mr. Min? Your dick got distracted by just that much?”

Yooongi sucks in a sharp breath, “No, I was just memorizing the sound you make out of pleasure so I can have you repeat it but under different circumstances.”

Jimin blushes hard, he thought he was bold but the elder is something else entirely.

“Shut up and eat the food, it’s really tasty.” He sputters and Yoongi smirks.

“I know, I ordered it.”

Jimin rolls his eyes and goes back to scarfing down the delicious meal.

“So now that you know a lot about my life, tell me about yours. How did you become a preschool teacher?”

Jimin smiles and dives into his life story, his love of children, his ambition of being a good role model and a support to kids at such a young and vulnerable age. He mentions his degree and Yoongi looks impressed commenting about how Jimin’s more accomplished than him because he only graduated high school.

They laugh at that but Jimin can tell that Yoongi really respects him, which is something that a lot of people don’t do.

“…yeah and so I do get that a lot, I’m just a daycare teacher at 27, I’m a failure or something.” Jimin confesses and Yoongi immediately goes off.

“That’s bullshit; it’s so difficult to handle one kid much less a whole class filled with them. And you’re doing something that makes you happy, which is not what you can say about most bankers and accountants and other people with ‘respectable jobs’.”

Jimin smiles, “Yes, I know that. It’s the reason why I don’t listen to them, I love my job and it pays well enough for me to live quite comfortably. What else could I possibly want? Well a love life too but that’s beside the point.”

He laughs and Yoongi gets a thoughtful look on his face, “So you haven’t been with someone in a while?”

“No, no one in the past two years.”

“Two years! That’s a long time, not even a one night stand or a fling?” Yoongi feels astonished that someone as attractive and intriguing as Jimin has been untouched for so long.

Jimin looks down, “Yeah I know, it’s pretty embarrassing, but the thing is, I don’t do hook-ups, I don’t do casual flings or one-night stands. I’m a relationship guy because I get attached to people very quickly, and I’m just not someone who can say goodbye after a month of fooling around. Two years ago, I broke up with my toxic boyfriend who was manipulating and emotionally abusing me, we were together for almost a year and it took me some time to heal from that trauma, before him I’ve been in two other relationships, both serious and long-term.

I figured out in high school that my heart is too weak for casual and I’m also too picky, especially after the last disastrous relationship, which has led to this dry spell. My friends worry about me being lonely that’s why Hoseok set me up, I’ll meet up with that blind date next week hopefully he’s nice and I can put an end to this dick hiatus.”

Jimin laughs and Yoongi chuckles a bit but it’s forced, the truth is that Yoongi’s mind is stuck on the last few words, Jimin is planning to still go on that date, with another man. He’ll have to do a better job if he wants to keep Jimin from slipping through his finger.

They finish up soon and Yoongi asks for the bill.

He pulls out his black card and places it on the tab but Jimin’s eyes are on his fingers instead.

After the payment is handled, Yoongi and Jimin move to the exit and Yoongi again holds the door open for him. Jimin rolls his eyes but smiles fondly. Instead of the car, Yoongi leads him down the sidewalk and Jimin follows with a confused expression.

“Umm where are we going?” He asks and the elder smirks before entwining their hands.

“It’s a surprise.”

Jimin gives him an exasperated look but walks along. One thing he’s discovered today is that he loves holding hands with Yoongi, they fit together perfectly, not to mention that Jimin loves Yoongi’s hands, period.

After two blocks they reach a big park with sprawling green grass, tall trees and many people milling around.

“Ta-da, welcome to my favorite park in the city.”

Jimin giggles, “Definitely didn’t peg you for a parks guy.”

Yoongi pinches his cheek, “I take offense at that, I’m a very homely guy, I love going to Parks, cooking for my people, sleeping in and having movie marathons. Do I not look like it?”

Jimin blushes and giggles harder, “Well, actually you do. I had thought you’d be a party person, but after seeing you today I’d definitely say you hate parties and you’re a big introvert even though you talked to me.”

Yoongi nods, “How’d you pick up on that?”

“I don’t know, it’s just the vibe you have and the way you behave. But I love it; I’m an extrovert so I think we balance each other quite well. If anything, I’m becoming a better listener because of you.”

“Pleasure to be of service.” Yoongi teases and then points towards a food truck.

“And that is the second reason we came here, I didn’t order desert at the diner because I wanted you to have the ice cream here, they make it themselves and it’s the best I’ve had.”

Jimin jumps excitedly, “Oh my god, Ice cream is my absolute favorite.”

Yoongi smiles down at him, his gummy smile that Jimin loves, “I know that’s why I wanted you to have the best one in town.”

Jimin looks up at the elder who’s smiling so tenderly at him and he can’t help it, he reaches up and pecks Yoongi’s cheeks quickly before running off to the food truck.

Yoongi is stuck there like a fool. It takes him a moment to collect his bearings; he brings a hand up to caress the cheek Jimin kissed and smiles to himself like an idiot.

“Come on loser.” Jimin yells out from a distance and Yoongi chuckles before following him.

When he reaches Jimin’s already placed his order of triple chocolate chip in a waffle cone. When Yoongi gives his own order of Mint chocochip, Jimin glares at him.

“You do not like Mint choco, please tell me you’re pranking me.”

Yoongi raises his brows, “Uhh no, I do like it a lot.”

Jimin throws his head back, “I knew it, you were too good to be true there had to be something that was wrong with you, ahh this sucks.”

Yoongi moves closer, “Hmm so you think I’m too good to be true, glad to know that. But then I guess having one singular flaw will make me real, a real option for you.”

Jimin bites his lip and ignores the remark, accepting his ice cream from the vendor, Yoongi follows and they head towards the path that winds through the park.

“Mhmm I can see you weren’t kidding, this is brilliant.” Jimin compliments and Yoongi feels pleased.

“Told you.” Yoongi says simply before grabbing Jimin’s hand.

Jimin smiles to himself and the two stroll around while eating the sweet milky desert, Jimin strikes up a conversation on some random topic and they end up talking for two hour, long after their ice creams are finished.

“Hey what’s that?” Jimin points to a structure on the side.

“That is a wishing well. Legend says whatever you wish for here will get fulfilled within a year.”

Jimin rolls his eys, “Yeah right.”

“No it’s true, you can try it out yourself.” The elder suggests and Jimin gives him an unconvinced look before going to the well. He tosses in a coin and closes his eyes for a minute. When he opens them he has a mischievous smile on his face.

“You look awfully suspicious, Jimin-ah. What did you ask for?” Yoongi tries but Jimin shakes his head.

“Na-ah, if I tell you it won’t come true.”

“But now I’m really curious.”

Jimin giggles, “Well how about I tell you in case it comes true, that way you’ll get a kind of reward if you didn’t lie to me about the whole legend thing.”

Yoongi shakes his head, “There’s no winning with you is there?”

“Nope.” Jimin grins before twirling under the streetlight.

Yoongi stares at him, feeling mesmerized and startstruck as this beautiful man spins around while giggling cutely. The elder has a huge smile on his face, feeling endeared by this faerie. Yoongi knows he is whipped, he knows he wants Jimin, wants his smiles, his twirls, his giggles. He wants his moans and winks and his exasperated sighs. Yoongi wants everything with Jimin. He knows it now after one date and he knows it’ll remain the same even after a hundred.

When Jimin halts, Yoongi moves closer and into his personal space, standing feet to feet until Jimin has to look up a little to stare at his eyes. In that moment both of them feel this huge warm feeling in their hearts.

This is meant to be, this is right.

Yoongi caresses Jimin’s cheeks softly and Jimin leans a little into the touch.

“Jimin-ah. Baby, can hyung kiss you?”

Jimin bites his lips and nods.

Yoongi doesn’t wait a moment and slowly moves in and locks their lips together. A thousand sparklers go off in their brains and Yoongi feels like he’s never felt this before whereas Jimin feels like he’s always known this feeling yet hadn’t experienced it.

To Yoongi it feels like discovering a home and to Jimin it feels like coming back to one after a long voyage.

It is a short kiss, an innocent embrace and when they pull apart they share a sweet moment of just staring into each other’s eyes with pure adoration and wonder, small grins on their mouths.

With no words spoken, they continue strolling in silence, holding hands a bit more tightly, a hope blossoming in their chests.

Yoongi leads him back to the car when it started getting dark and drives him home, following the directions given by Jimin. When they say goodbye, for the first time Jimin feels tempted to give in and invite Yoongi over, even though this was technically only their first date. But he doesn’t want to mess this up; he doesn’t want to appear too easy and most importantly he wants to see whether or not this actually means something to the elder. So Jimin tamps that urge down.

Yongi ever the gentleman, walks him to the door of the apartment building and gives a sweet peck on his cheeks while whispering a deep ‘goodnight’ in his ears. Jimin blushes and reciprocates the greeting before heading in.

When Yoongi drives back home, he’s whistling and humming to tunes, and thinking up lyrics that he scribbles down upon reaching his place. He spends the night holed up in his studio writing a love song for the first time in his life. And he does all that with a shit eating grin on his face, he already knows he’s done for, he’s all in and he can only hope Jimin feels the same.

The same night, Jimin in his apartment; ends up taking a long relaxing hot shower and then drinking wine, reading a classic romance book.  The picture of contentment except there is a bullet train of thoughts running inside his head. He absolutely loved the date, the time he spent with Yoongi, the little things he did and most importantly the way he made Jimin feel. But at the same time, Jimin has zero clue about Yoongi’s intentions.

Does he like him?

Jimin can tell Yoongi is attracted to him, they kissed for god’s sake. But does he like him beyond his face and his ass?

Does he want to date or is this just a casual thing for him?

Is he doing this out of pity or some misplaced need to apologize and make up for that one time he was late?

Ugh, I wish I could get answers to all these annoying questions, it’s driving me crazy.

Jimin knows he has already caught feelings for the man, knows that him and Yoongi make sense, their conversation flows and talking  to him feels like talking to an old friend rather than a man he met just a week ago. He can see himself falling if he allows it, but that’s the problem. That’s the reason he’s very cautious, he needs to be sure that Yoongi wants the same things before he can give himself over.

And so he tries his best to shut out thoughts of Yoongi by having a pampering night, but when he finally falls asleep even his dreams are filled with that cat-like gaze.

The next day he heads to work with anxiety, nerves and excitement in the pit of his stomach. The moment Haneul sees him he runs up to hug him; that makes Jimin blush because now he knows why he has been behaving this way and what probably prompted this hug. He takes it as a very positive sign, that Yoongi perhaps discussed their date with his son, which means he wants something permanent and serious with Jimin which would involve having him around enough to warrant a conversation with the small kid.

With this reassuring thought in his mind, the rest of the school day passes by in a blur and when the pick-up hour comes around, Jimin looks out for a familiar raven head with an expectant smile on his face.

Ten minutes pass, then thirty and finally after an hour has passed and there’s no sign of Haneul’s dad when the kid himself is sitting alone, Jimin’s anxiety worsens. His self doubt starts creeping back in, some of the trauma responses he had worked hard to heal show their ugly faces again and he hates it.

Finally an old lady, the same who Jimin remembers as the one who used to pick Haneul up earlier shows up and apologizes for the delay, taking the kid with her while Jimin’s final shreds of hope fall.

His brain comes up with a thousand different scenarios as an explanation for today but at the end the one that sticks and makes sense is that Jimin scared him off. He talked so much about only wanting long serious relationships, getting attached, that it put off Yoongi. Of course the guy doesn’t want something like that; he’s a fucking CEO for god’s sake. He works hard to make time for his son, how and why would he make time for someone like Jimin, someone so worthless.

What’s a daycare teacher as compared to the brilliant actors, singers and rich heirs that must throw themselves at the handsome producer?

When he reaches home, the first thing he does is ask Hoseok to reschedule that blind date for tomorrow. He doesn’t care about Min Yoongi and his stupid charisma, his stupid gentleman behavior, his stupid sweet personality, his stupid jokes, his stupid hands and especially his stupid stupid gummy smile.

Who cares if Yoongi doesn’t want something with him, he has other options; starting with this blind date.

The next day he dolls up extra special; even better than he had that day with he who must not be named. He goes to the daycare and somehow his mood is pissy the whole day, at one point he has to take a five minute break when he shouts a little too loudly at the class who wasn’t listening to him. The hours fly by and he gives himself pep talks for the date, thinking about how he could possibly be meeting his future husband today.

When the school hours end he goes to sit in the back office of the class while parents come pick their children up. He unbuttons the top three buttons of his shirt making sure a lot of his chest is showing and puts on some lip gloss. He really wants to wow this new guy; and he knows he’s got great potential so why not show it off.

He checks himself out on the small mirror he has on the opposite wall and fixes his hair.

And Min Yoongi doesn’t want this, ha, his loss.

“And where are you going while looking this irresistible, that gloss is screaming at me to mess it up and lick it off.”

A deep voice says from behind him and Jimin jumps and swivels to face the one man his head had been filled with for the past two days.

“Mr. Min, I see you were able to make it today.” Jimin says coldly, acting unbothered while he’s screaming, crying, throwing up at how gorgeous Yoongi looks today and just how easily he lights Jimin’s body on fire with just one gaze.

Today Yoongi isn’t wearing his usual sharp suit, no; today Yoongi’s looking extra adorable in an oversized black hoodie and comfortable pants with his toes out in some leather slide sandals. He’s the epitome of boyfriend material with the cuddly outfit and yet has the same suave charismatic presence. Even dressed this casually he holds himself like he could end you, just as much as he did in his ties, maybe even more.

Yoongi looks apologetic, “I got caught up at work, I was working on my own song all night and day which led me to forget that a very important release was lined up soon and the deadline for the track was in two days. So then I had to sit through recordings, coach the junior producers and artists, and make sure everything was going well. By the time I got a breather it was already night and I had missed the whole day. I slept at the office and today again had work all day but I rushed to make it here on time.”

Jimin hides his expression well but he’s rejoicing on the inside.

So, Yoongi hadn’t ghosted him on purpose, maybe he still wanted Jimin despite all the strings attached.

“Well that’s fine, don’t be late again though, I would’ve hated if you were late today because I have a date today and I really don’t want to miss it. I’m excited to meet the man.” Jimin says and can see Yoongi biting the inside of his lips and his nostrils flaring a bit.

“So that’s why you dressed up and put on that gloss? For him?” Yoongi asks and Jimin can tell from his tone that he’s pissed and maybe jealous but then again, Jimin isn’t the best at reading those things.

“Yes, so if you excuse me I need to leave, you can take Haneul back home Mr. Min.”

Jimin makes a move to walk past him but Yoongi grabs his arm and comes closer to him, backing him up against the wall; Jimin looks up in confusion, his eyes instantly dropping to Yoongi’s soft lips.

“Wh-what are you doing?” Jimin asks unsurely and Yoongi shuts him up by leaning in to kiss him silly.

This kiss feels different from the first one, its way more passionate, intense and Yoongi moves in to grab Jimin’s waist tightly. It feels like Yoongi’s staking a claim, especially when he slips his tongue into the kiss and roughly sucks and bites at Jimin’s, the younger can’t help the moan that escapes and Yoongi all but growls in response.

Finally he pulls away and Jimin’s left panting for air and Yoongi doesn’t look very composed either. He reaches out and wipes away at Jimin’s plump lips with his thumb and sucks it into his mouth while giving Yoongi a smoldering stare.

“Mhmm I love strawberries.” He comments and Jimin blushes thinking about the strawberry flavored gloss he had applied. His previous cold, unbothered act goes down the drain, and his real self comes out. It’s a recurring thing; Yoongi always manages to break down his walls.

But Jimin feels confused and that much is evident when he looks up at Yoongi in question.

“There, now it’s all messed up, couldn’t help myself. Can’t risk another man getting the same urges.”

“Bu-wha-what?”

Yoongi grabs his hand and takes him back into the main classroom which is deserted except for Haneul who’s carefully holding a beautiful bouquet of white spireas. Jimin’s throat closes up on seeing them.

Yoongi takes the bouquet from him after giving the boy a high five, the boy runs out heading to the car and Yoongi offers it to Jimin who accepts it shakily.

“Ha-how did you know these were my favorite?” Jimin asks and Yoongi chuckles.

“Well you mentioned your birthday yesterday and I just did a bit of research and found your birth flowers, when I saw they were white I thought to myself why not try it out and guess I was right.” Yoongi explains but Jimin feels very touched. He knows Spireas or meadowsweets are very difficult to come by and the brown parchment paper of the bouquet makes a suspicion rise in Jimin’s mid.

“Hyung, where did you buy these from?”

Yoongi rubs the back of his neck nervously, “Uhmm I actually didn’t buy them, I found them in my garden, by some stroke of luck your birth flowers were among the dozens of different flowers my gardener grows.”

Stroke of luck? Jimin can’t help but think it was fate.

“And well I plucked them myself and got this parchment paper and thread from the kitchen, I’m sorry if it’s not well done, it was my first time making a bouquet.”

Jimin’s eyes widen, “No oh my god, this is perfect. I love it, especially because you made it yourself.”

Yoongi smiles happily, “Again about yesterday…”

He starts speaking but Jimin’s ears tone him out when he sees a familiar folded note in the flowers, his heart starts to break. Not another sorry note, not another apology bouquet. He’s so sick and tired of this, Yoongi’s only giving him this to say sorry for yesterday and maybe even to say sorry that he doesn’t want any more dates.

Jimin’s hurt and mad and he thrusts the bouquet back into Yoongi’s arms who immediately shuts up and holds them in confusion. Jimin’s had enough, all the stress and the confusion finally reaches its limits and he goes off.

“I don’t want your fucking apology, I don’t want your fucking sorry note with my favorite flowers, is this a joke to you? Do you enjoy toying with people’s feelings? I fucking like you, okay. I’m very much into you and I want to be with you. I want you to give me flowers because you want to give me flowers not apologize for some shit. But you can’t seem to make up your mind. One minute you’re taking me out on the best date of my life, the next you’re running away from commitment without even talking it out. You kissed me just then but you’re apologizing for breaking my heart now. What the fuck do you want from me?”

He finishes out of breath but Yoongi’s looking at him calmly, “Jimin-ah-“

“No, don’t Jimin-ah me now. It’s Mr. Park to you.” Jimin pokes a finger aggressively into Yoongi’s chest who simply smiles and grabs the finger gently.

“Baby, read the note please.” He says and Jimin angrily grabs the offending paper and reads furiously.

But within a second his expression morphs from rage to confused.

I like you Jimin. Date me, please?

Jimin looks up in shock and Yoongi caresses his cheek lovingly.

“My sweet pie, I fucking like you too, I’m really into you too and I want to very much be with you. I would’ve told you all this yesterday but because of work I couldn’t make it, I’m really sorry for that. But I’m not sorry for loving the way your eyes disappear when you smile, for loving how caring and kind you are to kids, for loving who you are as a person and most importantly for loving who you make me become when I’m with you.
You don’t do serious and up till now I had never done anything other than casual. And it’s not because I’m scared of commitment, it’s because I hadn’t met someone I wanted to commit to, I hadn’t met you. I have always been someone who knows what he wants right away, it’s part of the reason of my success, and it also applies to my love life. I can tell by just one meeting whether or not someone’s compatible with me, or if I want to give them a place in my life. I’m very selective about it.
And you, Jimin when I met you, I knew you would become my world one day. And I did everything in my power after that to make you mine. I deployed my son as a top secret agent, for god’s sake.” Yoongi chuckles and despite the heaviness of the moment Jimin can’t stop the giggle that leaves him and Yoongi sighs.

“Did I mention how much I love you giggles, they’re literally musical.”

Jimin giggles harder and Yoongi smiles his gummy smile while coming closer.

“You told me you only do serious relationships and I’m telling you I won’t settle for anything less than that with you. So cancel that blind date, forever, and come eat ice cream with me and my son.” Yoongi pleads and Jimin grins brightly.

“Sounds like a good plan, but I’m buying.”

Yoongi rolls his eyes, “We’ll have a fight about you letting me spoil you later, right now I’m just beyond ecstatic that you agreed to date me.”

Jimin laughs and pressed a short kiss against Yoongi’s lips.

“Come on, Haneul must be waiting. He’s my favorite kid I don’t like to upset him.”

“Hmm but is he your favorite Min?” Yoongi asks and Jimin places an earnest expression on his face.

“Of course he is, by a very large margin.”

Yoongi pinches his cheek in retaliation.

“You little brat.” He chides but wraps his arm around Jimin’s waist to lead him outside.

The three of them leave in Yoongi’s car and head to the park to feast on the city’s best ice cream.

Sharing sugar and sweetness both, through their cones and their words, in the overall ambience and in the corners of their hearts.

-Six months later-

Jimin wakes up late, he had a lot of homework to check last night so he hadn’t gone over to sleep at Yoongi’s place. Not that they do anything other than sleeping.

Nope, they hadn’t proceeded past some heavy petting and long make outs, that left both of them blue balled but it was for the best and Yoongi didn’t mind. In fact he had been the one who had come up with the no sex until their half year anniversary rule.

Not that he had any problem but more that Jimin had issues. The teacher had thought that he had healed from past trauma of being with a very toxic and abusive guy, the man had practically altered many basic aspects of Jimin’s pscyche but only when he and Yoongi got into a relationship did it all start resurfacing. His insecurities, constantly doubting himself or Yoongi’s feelings for him. He couldn’t see what the elder saw in him and this led to a few arguments and fights over senseless things.

Finally Yoongi had broken down those last few walls and got Jimin to admit his issues to him, once the elder knew what was bothering him he immediately worked on it. Made sure Jimin knew Yoongi cared for him not only through actions but by constant reassurances. Jimin’s mental health had soared after that; he had actually started getting better.

The first time Jimin had tried initiating something physical almost three months into their relationship; Yoongi had literally stopped Jimin from giving the him a handjob. Then they had a talk about going slow, Yoongi said that he needed Jimin to completely trust him as well as his own self before they engaged in anything too physical. Jimin hadn’t understood the need for it but over the past months he had begun to understand why it had been so important.

Because now there wasn’t a shred of doubt in Jimin’s mind that Yoongi liked him for who he was, not for his body or for how good of a lay he was. Jimin had regained his confidence and learned to never doubt Yoongi or himself. He felt extremely secure in their relationship, he knew Yoongi was serious about it and for the first time, Jimin was completely happy and he couldn’t imagine anything ruining their peace.

He was also very excited, they had their six month anniversary coming up next week and Yoongi had planned a weekend trip to an island for them where the couple would get lost in throes of pleasure for the first time. He couldn’t wait. Haneul was going to stay with his uncles, Yoongi’s friends from work and they’d have each other alone completely.

Over the past half year, Jimin’s role in Haneul’s life had grown exponentially. He knew the boy looked up to him as a parent figure now, and loved him dearly. He had fallen sick two weeks ago while Yoongi had been away on a business trip, it was Jimin who had taken care of him, constantly sitting by his bed, talking to him, making soup and ensuring the boy recovered quickly.

It had been so stressful for him too, he loved Haneul and seeing the kid, his kid, in pain had hurt him deeply. The concern he had for Haneul rivaled the concern Yoongi had for him and the man hadn’t been expecting that, so when he came back from his trip, rushing to Haneul’s room he had almost been brought to tears on seeing Jimin sitting on a chair beside the bed, with his head beside Haneul’s sleeping at a very painful angle.

He had thanked the stars that he had known from that first hello that Jimin was the love of his life, because of that he had managed to not let an angel like him slip through his fingers and now he finally had a family. He knew it already; that he was going to ask Jimin to marry him one day, but he had to take baby steps because Jimin deserved a slow love.

A love that left no room for doubts.

Which is why he hadn’t even confessed ‘I love you’ to the teacher yet. But he had planned on their anniversary getaway to be the right time for it. He knew Jimin reciprocated his feelings, could see it in his eyes but he needed to hear it too, just like Jimin did.

He had really opened up to the younger, spilling some of his best kept secrets because he absolutely trusted him, in Jimin he had found a confidant and an advisor he had never known he needed. But now, after a tough day at work he craved putting his head in Jimin’s lap and ranting to him or expressing his worries while the younger listened carefully and petted his hair.

He couldn’t wait for a lifetime of such late nights if it meant they were with Jimin.

Jimin drives to work, in his sleek Audi R8 that Yoongi had bought as a birthday gift. Just as Yoongi had said; they had gotten into an argument about Yoongi buying him expensive gifts or spoiling him and in the end they’d come to a compromise, Jimin would accept gifts because it made Yoongi happy and in turn Yoongi would only give him gifts for special milestones and not just casually like he had started to, so Yoongi had saved that up and gifted him a whole god damn car on his birthday.

Jimin was very happy upon seeing the Audi even if he tried to hide it, he loved luxury sports cars and Yoongi had been quick to pick up on it, he’d always bring out an Aston or a Lambo when they went on dates and then watch Jimin squirm as he purred the engine. Now Jimin could get that feeling all the time even when he was driving by himself.

Jimin’s day at the preschool goes by normally, only thing is that Haneul’s absent, Jimin’s a bit worried but he remembers Yoongi saying he wanted a father-son day with the kid since he had been very busy lately. The couple had been spending almost all free time together, which is why they had grown attached and learned thoroughly about each other. It’s why Jimin knew Yoongi was sad over being away while Han was sick, which was also the reason he had wanted to have a whole day with Han to himself. Jimin smiles and gets back to instructing the class on crayon shading.

After the day ends he heads to Yoongi’s mansion, he calls up Yoongi but the phone’s switched off.

He must have switched it off to give Haneul his whole attention. Oh god, I love him.

Wait, fuck! Did he just think that?

Jimin thinks he’ll slip into a panic but just like everything else with Yoongi, it’s just an easy acceptance of a fact that had actually been in his heart for a while. He grins happily, drawing up a plan to confess to Yoongi on their weekend trip. He already has so much to look forward to on it and now this was just the cherry on the cake. He already knows Yoongi feels deeply for him but he’d love to have it spelled out.

He rings the doorbell and instead of Mrs. Kim, the housekeeper who he has grown very close to, it’s Yoongi who opens the door.

He’s in a day old crumpled white shirt, his hair’s a mess and so is his face with dark circles and eyes almost dead. He looks disheveled, like a train slammed into him. Jimin’s eyes widen!

“Hyung what’s wrong? Oh my, are you okay? Is Han-ah okay?” Jimin shrieks out at the end.

Yoongi’s stare remains the same lifeless, corpse like but he lets out a very dark mirthless chuckle.

“Don’t.” He says; his voice solid despite his own fragile state.

“D-don’t take his n-name.”

Thunder crackles in a distance and goose bumps stand up on Jimin’s arms as droplets start falling from the sky.

Yoongi remains wordless and Jimin starts panicking.

Jimin gasps brokenly, “Hyung please say something, please tell me what’s wrong? Is my baby okay? Where’s Han?” Jimin tries to push past Yoongi and into the house but the elder grabs his shoulder and pushes him back.

No! You’re never stepping foot inside our home again and you sure as hell are never even laying a finger on my son. Han is well enough, for now. But considering what you’ve done, you can’t really be worried about his wellbeing. His whole life he’ll have to carry this burden. I will have to carry it, all those voices and people speaking about him. How I didn’t actually want him, like I used to say. He’s gonna grow up hearing that he was the result of a mistake instead of a conscious choice.  Do you think he’ll be okay then?”

Yoongi’s screaming at him now but Jimin feels completely lost, he doesn’t understand. The rain becomes harsher.

“Hyung what are you talking about?”

“Oh now you want to act all innocent? Why keep up the act now, huh? You got what you wanted. Tell me! Did they pay you enough? To feed your greed? Huh?”

Jimin begs with his eyes, completely lost as the raindrops clouds his vision, “Yoongi hyung! I have no idea what you’re talking about, who paid me?”

“Why are you even bothering now? Why lie huh? The pictures are already out! Did you think I wouldn’t find out? When you’re the only soul who I’ve ever told?” Yoongi pushes a finger at him.

“About what hyung!” Jimin grabs his head in frustration.

“About Haneul! About Haneul not being a legitimate son from a surrogacy! That he was the result of a one night stand; that I paid off the mother and lied to the entire nation!”

Thunder crackles, much closer than before.

Jimin stares at him blankly, Yoongi had told him all this, the whole story; the day after he had come home to Jimin tending to a sick Haneul. It had meant a lot to him, he had been shocked but he could understand why Yoongi had done what he had done.

“You vowed to keep a secret, told me pretty lies about how this was the right thing for Haneul, for me. And then you went and snitched to Dispatch about it, plastered those godforsaken headlines over all the papers, with Haneul’s picture! Violating not only my trust but his privacy! You must be some kind of a sick bastard to come here acting all normal now. Tell me Jimin, was it worth it? Did you even care for me, ever? Or was this a ploy from the beginning.”

“Wha-no hyu-“

“Or was it because they offered you money recently and you felt tempted? If you wanted money you could’ve asked me, for fuck’s sake even if you don’t like me, I do! And I would’ve paid you whatever amount you wanted just to have you with me. I can’t live without you, I’m that far gone! But you hurt my son, my first priority and whom I love more than myself. Now you have no place here, no place in my heart. Go-get out-go away, before I do something worse.”

“No hyung I didn’t, I’d never-“

Yoongi thrusts his phone in front of Jimin’s face with the photo of Jimin meeting with a reporter alongwith the headline, “Midas touch Min PD a liar, faked his son’s actual origin when Min Haenul is the illegitimate product of an illicit one night affair.”

Jimin stares in shock and in his stupor, Yoongi pushes him back, away from the door and slams it closed in his face.

Jimin regains his bearings and starts banging on the door, “No, Yoongi hyung! You have to listen to me, I didn’t do it. Please j-just believe me, I would never. I didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t do it, hyung. I swear it wasn’t me.”

The downpour continues, Jimin now completely drenched in the cold. He starts shrieking and banging harder when no reply comes.

“Open the door, hyung. Please just open the door, we can talk this out, you’ll see the truth. Please don’t ruin what we have, fight for it, hyung. Fight for me, for us. Don’t let those lies come in between us.”

No response.

Jimin starts crying hard, a blubbering mess as he shouts his throat hoarse, the tears fall and are as quickly washed away by the falling water; almost a mockery of his pain, “Open the fucking door, hyung. Please talk to me. Please don’t do thi-this I can’t live without you two. I love Haneul, I-I-I love y-“

A guard suddenly comes up from behind and drags Jimin away from the door, Jimin writhes in his hold and shouts.

“No no no, you can’t do this to me. Let me go! I need to talk to him, I need to tell him this isn’t real, someone’s setting me up. Please no I-“

He gets pushed back so hard he falls to the ground, hitting his cheek on the pavement; he can feel the blood trickle down from the cut. His left hand aches; it feels like he broke a bone. He looks up to see Yoongi watching him from the balcony, a stone cold expression on his face, yet the way he’s gripping the railings show just how much pain he’s in. While watching the elder through the rain, Jimin realizes Yoongi’s heard everything, he just doesn’t care. He doesn’t care to know if Jimin’s telling the truth. He doesn’t care about Jimin, he doesn’t want Jimin.

Nobody ever wants Jimin.

Jimin gets up slowly; he keeps his eyes on Yoongi as he moves back. Ignoring the fancy car, he walks away. Looking away from Yoongi only when he takes the turn off the block.

The rain pours down, uncaring of Jimin’s wounds, both on the outside and the inside. He cradles his left arm and wipes his cut. No matter, he still walks, he’s numb to the world around him, he can see, hear, feel nothing but the gaping hole inside him.

The life he had planned with Yoongi flashes before his eyes, their weekend getaway, their wedding, Haneul growing up, loving each other for the rest of their lives.

And it all falls apart.
