It’s a rather normal Monday morning for the employees in Jeon’s Corporation. Clanking of boots, clicking of heels, low murmurs of meetings being discussed followed by a deafening silence as soon as the door of the elevator swings open. For the little ‘ding’ of the elevator serves as the intense alarming sound of the arrival of their Chief Executive Officer.
Jeon Jungkook.
A handsome, charming yet lethal man.
At the age of twenty-six, Jeon Jungkook has everything a quintessential millennial could dream of. Thriving business, free-flowing money, a caring family, new fling almost every week, a lavish life — to describe in a nutshell— his life is perfect. Or so he likes to think of it as.
He’s respected, feared and admired. The most eligible bachelor of Seoul, South Korea. Jungkook likes to think that he in fact deserves the success he has achieved. He’s worked for it, real hard and is neither egoistic nor narcissist about himself. He deserves the life he’s living, for he’s giving his life the perfection in literally every task and it’s only fair for him to expect only perfection in return.
Jungkook smirks looking at his reflection from the mirror right across the hallway of the office floor, his big doe eyes glistening proudly. He strides his way across the floor, nodding at everyone who’s bowing to greet him.
“Aera, my schedule.” He briefly orders while his secretary hangs his suit coat on the coat rack. The said secretary does as told, briefing him about the meetings and tasks scheduled for the rest of the day to which he merely nods in acknowledgement.
Jungkook raises his hand, halting his secretary mid-sentence, “What orientation program did you mention earlier? And why do I need to be there? Isn't it some HR related stuff, Aera?”
Aera gapes her mouth for a couple of times, then finally figures out a reasonable sentence, “Oh! Mr. Jeon, the new team is an exclusive research, design and development team and the executives will be working directly under your wing. Hence, Yoongi-ssi has mentioned you to be the host for the program so the team can have a direct word in case they have any questions or issues.” She replies with a small smile, earning a curt nod in response.
“Fine. Anyway there are only two meetings with stakeholders, I think I’ll bear this program. 2PM, right?” Aera nods to his question and then he continues, “That’d be fine. Get me my breakfast now.” Jungkook orders, rolling the sleeves of his shirt, eyes already scanning the computer screen in front of him.
Aera returns exactly eight minutes later; a tray with a pot of coffee and cookies in her hand. She neatly pours the coffee in the mug, waiting beside Jungkook for her next order. The CEO simply flicks his fingers towards the door and on cue, the woman leaves him alone to munch on his cookies and start his day.
Eyebrows furrowed, first two buttons of his shirt open, sleeves rolled till the elbow and tie loose, Jungkook groans, throwing his head back after slumping on his swivel chair. “Fucking shit, why do I have to be the one who faces these oldies. Fuckers can’t even decide where to invest and have the audacity to question me. tch. Idiots.” He curses under his breath and eyes the clock hanging on the wall in the front of him.
01:48 P.M. “Just great! Now I have to entertain some newbies and answer their idiotic questions about design and development—” he presses the buzzer, calling his secretary inside the office again, “Lord! I just hope the new joinees are smart enough to not ask me unnecessary shit and irk me even more.” He sighs once again and then fixes his suit, motioning his secretary to follow him to the other room where the said new employees are supposedly waiting for him.
As expected, Jungkook does find all the six newly joined employees in the meeting room of ‘C’ wing. The suave CEO cracks his knuckles, huffs a deep breath and pushes the door open. His eyes scan the room, there’s four ladies and two men dressed in the newest suits they must’ve bought.
All six of them stand and greet the CEO, bowing slightly in respect. “Welcome to Jeon’s Corp. I’m sure all of you are aware of what you’ve signed up for when you signed the appointment letter from here.” Jungkook’s voice booms across the room, all the new joinees only nod, their heads still lolled downwards not meeting his eyes.
“Introduce yourselves please. So we could familiarize ourselves a bit.” The CEO then takes his seat, unbuttoning his coat, allowing the others to quickly scan over his chiseled body, his shirt outlining his toned figure prominently. He knows he makes gazes linger and heads turn whenever and wherever he’s in the room, it’s not an uncommon feeling for him.
The female sitting closer to him starts first, followed by the next then the next and next. Finally the last person speaks and Jungkook— who hadn’t looked up from the laptop screen, dares take a look at the source of the voice. A voice so deep, so enthralling , Jungkook just couldn't look away.
“I’m Kim Taehyung, it’s an honor to be a part of Jeon’s Corporation. Please treat me well.” The source of the voice — Kim Taehyung speaks. His posture straight, shining feline eyes staring at Jungkook in the eye directly, heart-shaped lips slightly stretched upwards in a small smile.
Jungkook gulps, looking back at him. Every nerve inside his body tingling and heart thumping in his chest. Taehyung doesn’t avert his gaze, he’s looking at him directly in the eye and Jungkook feels as if he’s staring right into his soul. The CEO then clears his throat and looks away, regaining his composure real quick, “Welcome on board.” Is all Jungkook manages to reply.
The meeting ends in about an hour. Jungkook’s thankful they didn’t ask him much and to his surprise, the newbies are actually more knowledgeable and experienced than he expected them to be. Saved his time, saved the day. They’re all good in their field. They possess the skills, the knowledge and the ability to execute the plans they might come up with.
Although, something— something about a certain employee leaves him intrigued. Kim Taehyung. There’s something different about him, Jungkook thinks. It’s something common yet something so, so different. The way his eyes shine, the little gestures he makes with his hands, the way his lips jutt out in a pout when he’s explaining a specific detail. Jungkook finds himself listening to him— wanting to listen more and more to him.
It’s crazy. And stupid. It’s something different because none of his previous employees, no matter their tenure, has been able to entice Jungkook, but him— Kim Taehyung did that.
—
It happens a few weeks later.
Jungkook’s not oblivious to the sudden palpitations of his heart, the burning sensation in his chest, and the goosebumps erupting on his skin every time a certain Kim Taehyung is just as much in a close vicinity as him.
A few meetings, business idea discussions and two company dinners later Jungkook finds himself in his office, seated opposite to the reason of his rapid and stupidly (so he likes to address it) beating heart, Kim Taehyung and the latter’s team leader, Kim Seokjin, who’re here for a quick review of the meeting they’ve attended earlier this day. “Mr. Jeon, as we have already discussed earlier; Taehyung here, will quickly brief you about the whole design of the new software we’ve come up with and also will assist you in quickly summarizing the key points for you..”, Seokjin proudly utters, gently patting Taehyung’s shoulder, “Don't worry about anything, Tae knows and is very well versed with the issues and queries they came up with and did, in fact, handle it very well.”
The eldest male then gets up on his feet, fixing his coat, “Then— I’ll leave you two here. Taehyung-ah, I’m rooting for you.” He smiles at his team member and passes an encouraging nod towards Jungkook who's sitting across the table with his eyes fixed upon the other man who’s shyly averting his gaze.
“Oh and— no funny business, Jungkook-ah.” Seokjin teasingly glares at the youngest and then winks before leaving the two alone in the quiet room.
The room’s quiet. The silence wraps around them like a heavy blanket draping over one in an already hot afternoon and Jungkook gulps when he peeks from his laptop screen to the rustling sound of papers. Taehyung’s long, slender fingers rummage through the file, eyes sharp and focused, eyebrows arched in concentration. “So.. Mr. Jeon—” Taehyung finally looks up, his eyes directly meeting Jungkook's panicked ones and he has to fight the laugh that bubbles in his throat.
Jungkook clears his throat, diverting his attention back to the laptop screen, acting as if he wasn’t just ogling at the elder male, “Yes?” He replies curtly, fingers tapping at the keys of his device.
“Do you want me to quickly brief you about the meeting? Or are we good to go, it’s almost 7 P.M. already.” Taehyung asks, eyes now focused over the younger’s face. He closes the file and starts arranging his own notes and points simultaneously.
“Yeah, no. I guess we’re good to go. You have all the details about the product, right? Just— don’t mess it up in the upcoming meets as well. It’s a huge project for us, Taehyung-ssi and we have to make sure it’s the best. And—” he blabbers, words rolling out of his tongue at a faster pace than normal and Jungkook's confused. He's mentally fighting his own self because he has no idea why is he so panicked when he knows they're gonna launch the product and seal the deal.
Taehyung smiles, gently places his palm over the young CEO's cold one, his fingers gently caressing the rough hand, “Mr. Jeon, you’re being nervous for no reason. I know how important the project is and I know for a fact that we will, surely , get the deal. Just relax, hm?” His thumb rolls over the skin of the back of Jungkook's palm, and the younger feels it. The sensation, the warmth that seeps through him and rushes in his veins, oddly relaxing him and exciting him at the same time.
“Your hands— they're..” Taehyung drawls the tip of his finger now trailing the slightly rough skin of his palm, gliding to his exposed wrists and tracing the veins. Jungkook sucks in a deep breath when the finger doesn’t stop, only traveling north drawing the popped up vein and finally stops and curls around his forearm where the sleeve of his shirt is rolled over to.
“They are?” The question comes off as a shaky breath, a low whisper. Taehyung chuckles, rubbing his palm over the exposed hand, “They’re strong. You’re strong, Mr. Jeon.” The elder male licks his lips unconsciously when Jungkook’s eyes flicker over them, the plump flesh slightly parted and hot breath escaping them.
Jungkook’s arm tightens, veins flexing even more prominently, “Yeah?” He whisper-asks, his own breathing uneven.
“Yeah.” Taehyung responds, his deep voice reverberating in every nerve of Jungkook’s body.
They stay like that for a few minutes, the silence engulfing them, only low sounds of deep breathes accompanying the deafening silence. Jungkook’s resolve seems to crumble when Taehyung’s grip around his forearm tightens, his smooth fingers pressing on the firm muscles of his boss' hand.
The younger male's patience snaps then, and he hastily gets up from his seat, pulling Taehyung with him by his arm and pressing him against the glass barrier of his office room. “Do you know what you’re doing Taehyung?” He asks, his voice low and Taehyung has to bite back the moan that threatens to escape his throat.
With all honesty, Taehyung's shook as well. He has no idea what exactly is happening with him ever since he's signed the contract and came across Jeon Jungkook.
He's always admired the younger male. He's made his own name in the business world, a tycoon of the business world. Charming, hardworking, honest and headfast. Jungkook is surely the dream guy and an inspiration for countless people.
But— he's confused. Confused with his own feelings, confused with the voice at the back of his head that keeps screaming and chanting Jungkook's name. The desire to be close to him. The yearning for his attention, his eyes on him. Jungkook probably hasn't noticed the subtle glances he's thrown over him and maybe that is why the question arises.
And now it has Taehyung thinking the same. 'Does he know what he's doing?' Honestly? He doesn't. And he thinks he doesn't want to know. Because if he knows, it'll be difficult for him to accept or avoid it so he decides to not know. So he decides to indulge the younger and allows himself to go however the whole fiasco flows.
Jungkook leans towards the elder, his plump lips touching the shell of his ear , “I asked you a question, Taehyung.” The words roll out of his tongue and travel across every fiber of Taehyung’s insides making him visibly shudder with the way Jungkook says his name sounding oh so sensual.
“Y-yeah— no.. I mean.. yes.. I—”, he blabbers and Jungkook chuckles, the tip of his nose now pressed at the back of his ear right over the sensitive spot of his neck.
Taehyung's hand instinctively wraps around the younger's biceps, Jungkook's breath fanning over his skin igniting a tingling sensation in his nerves, “Mr. Jeon—..”, he whispers, mind hazy, lips parted and chest heaving.
Jungkook hums, one hand now snakes around the elder's waist, the other one slammed on the glass behind them. “Jungkook.” He asserts in a low whisper, lips now inches away from Taehyung's, warm breaths mingling together.
The air surrounding them is thick, tension clear in the air, mind clouding with all kinds of thoughts an employee and boss should not have for each other. They lean towards each other like poles of magnet pulling the other closer. Jungkook's lips rest right above the corner of Taehyung's mouth and the latter feels as if his heart will jump out of his chest.
Taehyung's eyelashes flutter heavily, his breathing heavy, cheeks tinted deep pink, “w-what?”, He shuts his eyes close when Jungkook's lips almost comes in contact with his own, heart pounding in his chest erratically, parted lips waiting in anticipation to feel the other's.
“Call me Jung—”
Jungkook is abruptly cut off by the buzzing of his mobile phone in his back pocket. The notification of the familiar device indicates an incoming message and the younger feels a bucket of cold ice being splattered over him bringing him back to reality and he immediately retracts his hands as if burned.
He mutters a ' shit' under his breath, reads the message, and looks at the other male in the room who's staring at him, his eyes wide— partly due to Jungkook's sudden action, partly in confusion. “Go home, Taehyung. You’re done for the day.”
He glances once more at his phone, ' 37533972225 ', the message reads and he smirks.
With that he walks away to his desk, gathering his stuff Jungkook then leaves his office room, not even looking back at the man he left behind him, confused and embarrassed.
Taehyung slumps down on the floor once the door shuts behind him, muttering a curse rather loudly, given that he's now alone in the room and groaning in both embarrassment and frustration. “Asshole.” He frowns and throws a glare at Jungkook's desk imagining the empty space to be occupied by his boss and then walks away with his chin high as if he didn't just make a fool of himself minutes ago.
—
Red, blue, purple lights of the club flashed across his eyes, Jungkook sits there near the bar sipping on his Dewar's 18. The mellow tones of almond and juicy apples blended with honey and vanilla and slight toffee overtones leave a mildly sweet taste on his tongue, however it burns his throat when he gulps and the undertone oak wood taste passes through his throat.
Hajoon is in a corner booth of the club, giggling as he sways his hips and grinds over the old man he doesn’t even know the name of— ‘s lap. His flashy silver cropped top exposes his belly button and Jungkook tsks as he eyes fall upon the stud that glimmers under the crimson light that falls on it.
With a wink thrown in Jungkook’s direction, Hajoon then slides off the old man’s lap, strutting towards the young CEO, his silky smooth pale thighs more exposed rather than covered with the shortest pair of shorts Jungkook’s ever seen. The vixen then bats his eyelashes towards him, a mirthful smile on his plush lips and then he leans, mutters something in Jungkook’s ear which earns a victorious smirk in return.
The duo then heads over to the room Hajoon is guiding them to, the vixen’s hand curled around Jungkook’s arm as they stride across the place. “You sure about this, gorgeous.” Jungkook asks, hand momentarily pausing over the knob of the door.
Hajoon only gives him an earnest nod, placing his soft palm over the other’s and pushing the door ajar. “Surprise, surprise, sweetie.” He purrs, a smug grin on his face as they enter the room and lock the door behind them.
“Hmm.. I expected you to— y’know, take some time or make me wait some more, play hard or something but.. you’re a reliable one, aren’t you, gorgeous?”
The vixen smiles yet again, but this time his eyes shine with the praises he’s heard, “Thank you, JK. Besides, it’s the basic rule of our job. The faster I get it done, the quicker I earn that stack of cash.” He winks then, hands suggestively gliding over Jungkook’s buff biceps.
“Here—”, Jungkook wriggles out of his Armani coat, hands it over to Hajoon, “—set this aside for me, will ya?” It’s more of a command than a question and Hajoon only responds to him with a nod. His fingers then glide over Jungkook’s arm, and the CEO feels as if his arm burns at the touch.
Mind immediately flickering to how Taehyung slid his finger, traced Jungkook’s arm veins like a voyager trailing a map in a hunger of exploring more and more. The way his fingers curled around Jungkook’s forearm, the way Jungkook had him pressed against the glass wall of his office, the way his lips shined under the brightly lit office room, the way his warm breath mingled with Jungkook’s.
And suddenly, just like that, he found himself retracting his hand from Hajoon’s grip, shaking his head and passing a warning glare to the vixen. “There’s something else we need to take care of.” he asserts, voice stern, “Now, where’s my present, beau?”
Hajoon then guides him towards the bed, the room dark except for the golden light from the lamp across the bed that’s lit. “Ah! Well.. if this isn’t my sweet little Gwon So. Uh oh, look at you, tied up here—” Jungkook chimes, taking long steps towards the bed.
The aforementioned guy, Gwon So, whimpers but his cries and sobs are muffled with the piece of satin cloth tied over his mouth. Jungkook almost wheezes and looks over his shoulder, Hajoon seems to understand because he’s stifling his laugh.
“Furry handcuffs? Seriously, Hajoon?” He scoffs and Hajoon rolls his eyes.
“Oh, well. Apparently clubs in Itaewon most certainly don’t seem to and actually, are definitely not very welcoming to the idea of Phantom’s most skilled assassin and his canary randomly having killing sprees at ass’o clock.” He completes his statement with a mocking smile on his face.
Jungkook snickers looking at the guy who has his hands locked on the headboard with pink furry handcuffs, a red satin cloth tied over his mouth and ankle cuffs restraining his legs from moving. “So, Gwon So—..” he hovers over the guy, untying the knot at the back of the cloth and Gwon So gasps heavily, tears staining his cheeks as he mewls underneath Jungkook. “Fucking smile . Isn’t that what your name means, anyway?” He grabs the other by his chin, fingers stretching Gwon So’s lips forcefully.
“Better now. So— cute.” Hajoon coos from behind. Jungkook’s playful demeanor then changes to dark one, he pulls out a switchblade from his sock and a gun from his back pocket, setting both the weapons beside him. “Now, I give you the choice here.", He taps his fingers on the weapons, toying with them. “In which way would you like to taste death, you fucking rat.”
Gwon So cowers, clutches on the handcuffs but it only hurts his wrists, forming deep red marks on his skin, “JK.. please …” he pleads with wobbling lips but Jungkook only chuckles.
“Oh? The Hardballer?”, He picks up the gun, the sound of metal clicking makes Gwon So shake his head in shrilling fear, cold sweat forming on his skin, trailing down his cheeks and temple.
“JK— I-I had no choice. Believe me.” He tries, pleads in desperation, begs for his life but Jungkook only grabs him in a strangling chokehold, his words reduced to mere groans and whimpers.
Jungkook points the gun on his forehead, the metal shines and Gwon So’s entire life flashes right across his eyes. A series of ‘ If only' coursing and flooding him in. If only he was not stupid. If only he had not agreed to leak Phantom’s information to a rival gang. If only he had not accepted the offer. If only— If only he wasn’t a certified dumbass who knows nothing but how to fuck shit up.
“Believe you huh? I did that once. But look where we are. Did you forget that nobody..” Jungkook nuzzles the head of the silencer over Gwon So’s cold skin, “has ever—”, he pushes the tip on his cheeks hard enough that it’ll leave a deep blotch but who cares, he’s gonna die anyway, “betrayed Phantoms. And..”, he cocks the gun, his finger resting on the trigger, “— made it alive.”
“Farewell, my dear Gwon So.”
Blood splatters over the neat white bedsheet, the deep red carmine liquid spreading its warmth and stain over the silky fabric. Gwon So lies there on the bed, his lifeless eyes open, hands and legs still clasped with cuffs. Jungkook locks his gun again, wiping the stains which somehow managed to taint his hands with the soft silk napkin Hajoon passes him. The duo then locks the room behind them, their clothes and hair slightly disheveled just to misguide anyone who looks at them as if they just had some bomb-ass sex.
“You think hyung-nim will appoint me as a official informant some day?” Hajoon then asks once they’re seated in Jungkook’s car. Jungkook’s suit coat draped over Hajoon’s tiny frame as the latter chugs the vodka from the bottle Jungkook got for him from the bar inside the club.
“Hajoon-ah..” Jungkook smiles, patting the other’s shoulder and passes him a brown envelope. “Here.”
“Hyung’s been observing you and well inspecting your information, assessing the accuracy and all that shit. And you’ve been working with me for around what— a year now — I think my trust and belief in your information made him finally appoint you as a canary of Phantoms.” Jungkook ruffles the boy’s hair, Hajoon groans, faking annoyance but his smile clearly has a different story to tell.
“Also, what the fuck is this, Hajoonie—.. sending co-ordinates like we’re some secret agents and shit?” He snorts, sipping on the vodka from the bottle.
Hajoon giggles, “Well, I like to play like this, sweetie. Y’know. The coordinates of place and then the room number 2225. I like that shit.”, he scrunches his nose, fingers fiddling with the envelope in an attempt to tear it open and Jungkook sits there, watches him with amusement as the younger boy squeals and clutches onto Jungkook with happiness, peppering kisses of gratefulness all over the assassin’s face.
Jungkook stops him right before his lips are close to his mouth though, “You never stopped me before, JK.” the younger pouts, endearingly so but Jungkook’s mind immediately wanders to the events from the evening.
Taehyung’s lips near his, his lips over Taehyung’s neck, his mouth, the soft yet tight grip of Taehyung’s fingers over his forearm, the hooded feline eyes Taehyung looked at him with, those soft, pouty plump lips parted as Taehyung waits for Jungkook to close the distance between them— God! Just what was he thinking. How the fuck can he even think about engaging in such bizarre plight.
“Whatever. Let’s get out of here before someone suspects anything.” Jungkook shakes the thoughts off his head, stepping on the gas and driving out of the place.
It was just a random shit he pulled out of the heat of the moment. Something he’s never gonna let happen in his right senses. All he has to do is keep his distance, stay safe, stay focused. He’s the CEO of Jeon’s Corp, for fucks sake! A mere employee with a mere one month tenure has got nothing on him, he absolutely cannot lure Jungkook in.
Jungkook’s life is perfect like this. A business tycoon in the day who’s focused, determined and successful; An underboss and executioner of Phantom s — the most feared gang in Seoul ruled by none other than his own brother Yoongi. His life is perfect, double life he lives but he’s learned, trained to live like this since he was barely eighteen and that is how he prefers to live like, out of his own will.
Yoongi had offered him the chance to only be the CEO but even the elder thought he’s some kind of a fucking psycho when Jungkook told his brother he was fucking bored when he wasn’t killing some buffoons. And that was the moment, Yoongi concluded his brother was as fucked up as he is. But had agreed to his brother, because Jungkook’s choices came first. Always.
And now with Taehyung barging in his office, in his life, luring him, pulling him in like a fucking iron piece being pulled towards a strong magnet, absolutely involuntarily, Jungkook has to fucking stop. Stop whatever flame he saw in Taehyung’s eyes from igniting, stop the flame to take the shape of a raging fire. Stop. Stop before it’s too late. Stop because he’s never been exposed to such emotions, such feelings before.
Just stop . Stop because he has no idea how the fuck to do a damage control when you’ve always been the one causing that fucking damage.
So yeah, he has to stay away from Taehyung.

The first time it happens, Taehyung’s on his way home after buying groceries from the supermarket near his apartment building. Namjoon, his brother, has called him and literally begged to go grocery shopping because he’s returned home after months and the first thing the elder told him was that Taehyung’s home is a mess, even though it's not.
Well, he lives alone, no hook-ups, no flings to bring home every other night, no lover to worry about or who’d care about him. He’s a simple man with simple needs. Taehyung wakes up in the morning, eats cereals or kimchi toast for breakfast, gets ready— carefully folding and neatly setting up his closet every week because he can sometimes be messy, especially when he’s running late; he leaves for office, works eight hours and returns to his humble apartment to live alone.
So, in simple words, he’s got no one to impress by cooking lavish meals or cuisines. As for his own, he orders take-out or sometimes even treats himself whenever the fuck he feels like. Also, ever since he’s joined Jeon’s Corp. he’s been going out often; sometimes with Seokjin who treats him like his own little brother, sometimes with other members of his team.
He does not need to keep his refrigerator and kitchen filled with groceries is what he reasons his brother but who the fuck is he kidding, Namjoon is his elder brother, more stubborn and more hardheaded than him and Taehyung’s knows he’s a lost cause when his brother calls him Taehyung instead of Taetae. It was as clear as a crystal.
And hence, he’s here, his laptop bag on his shoulder and both hands full of bags containing all kinds of vegetables, meat and eggs, literally everything his brother has sent him in the list of requirements of a fucking home. Yes, that is the exact name of the document Taehyung received and accepted with a heavy roll of eyes.
He of course did not tell his brother that he’s already having a shitty day because ah well, he works for a certified asshole (so Taehyung named him after whatever happened last evening and how Jungkook behaved with him today).
Mindlessly he walks towards the alley which leads to the main road near his apartment building, his thoughts angry and fussy over a certain boss who fucking dared reject his special carrot cake he got for him.
‘A sheer apology, nothing more, nothing less.’ Taehyung has said to himself while stopping by the bakery and buying the carrot cake for his utterly handsome asshole boss, Jeon Jungkook. Taehyung knows it was a bit out of line, whatever happened yesterday and he absolutely does not want Jungkook to think Taehyung’s seducing him for some kind of benefit.
No, Taehyung’s too diligent and ethical to mess with his professional life. And for what? Some kind of shitty promotion? No, thank you. He knows full well he can earn it with his hardwork and dedication towards his workplace. And that has been the sole purpose of buying a token of apology for whatever the fuck he— they— involved in.
However, the moment he stepped his foot in the CEO’s office, Jungkook’s annoying(charming) face turned into something akin to horrified or rather, mortified at the sight of Taehyung entering and sitting across him on the same swivel he sat the last evening.
“Jungk— Mr. Jeon,” Taehyung heaves a deep sigh, shyly revealing the small box with a pretty silver ribbon, silver— Taehyung has kept in mind, the color of grace and elegance, the color that represents maturity and sophistication. He slides the box slowly over the table, “Um—.. this.. Look, whatever happened yesterday—”
Taehyung’s cut off, very abruptly, when Jungkook scoffs, “It was nothing, Taehyung-ssi. Just a passing moment. Don’t think about it and more importantly, don’t think it can lead you to buying me some gifts or food or courting shit. I’m not interested in you, yeah?” He snickers, much to Taehyung’s surprise. Taehyung looks at him, once again, directly staring right into his soul and Jungkook feels himself small under the hurt, disappointed gaze of the elder.
The elder male laughs mentally at himself, ‘Hah! Just what the fuck did you think, Taehyung? Did you really think it’d matter to him? Or he’d be soft, or even the slightest affected about it. He’s a fucking CEO, a charming one at that, he’s got multiple beautiful, hot flings and hook-ups, models, celebrities and what not to look at, to feel at.’
But then for a moment he remembers the look in Jungkook’s eyes, those doe eyes that looked so.. different. Nothing intimidating, nowhere near the cold stance Jungkook maintains. They were different. Taehyung doesn’t know what, why and how he feels it but he does. And it only makes him clench his jaw hard.
Why the fuck should he care whatever the fuck Jungkook felt or feels or would ever feel. Here he was, being courteous, coming up with an apology and this asshole thinks Taehyung’s interested in him. Hah! How. Fucking. Funny.
“Well, I was just here to be a decent human and clarify that I did not and will never try to seduce you or something for any beneficial purposes. Whatever happened was out of line and I came here to apologize. But, oh, well, if you think so highly of yourself, I’m regretting sitting in the same room as you. And since we have nothing else to discuss,” He gets up from his place, picking up the box from the table, straightening his coat, “I’ll take my leave, Mr. Jeon. and just an F.Y.I. I’m not and will never be interested in you either.”
Jungkook dares look him in the eye after hearing those words which made a flaring pain shoot in his nerves as if someone has punched him right in his guts. And that, Jungkook thinks, is one big mistake he committed, for Taehyung’s eyes— the eyes which were so tender, so mild just yesterday are now ablaze, like wildfire burning and reflecting in them, defiance clearly visible in those feline orbs.
His stance makes Jungkook’s inside churn with those words constantly ringing in his ears ‘I’m regretting sitting in the same room as you.’ ‘I’m not and will never be interested in you either.’, the young man clenches his jaw, slamming his hand on the desk, “Leave then. Leave right now, Kim Taehyung.” He growls, fisting his hand tightly as if trying his best not to lash out.
Taehyung waits no longer, shooting a near to death glare at the younger he turns on his heel, his chin high, eyes sharp and fiery, he walks out of the room as if his heart didn’t break with Jungkook’s words, as if he didn’t clearly lie looking right in his boss’ eyes that he’s not interested in him.
None of it matters now, Taehyung thinks as he splashes cold water on his face, the tip of his nose red, nerves tingling with pain and a weird kind of desire but he’s suppressing it and he will suppress it because Jungkook made it very clear— he’s not interested in Taehyung. And so Taehyung must suppress his feelings even if he doesn’t have a name for it right now.
It’ll pass. It’ll pass, Taehyung. Just breathe.
Taehyung huffs out a deep breath, adjusting the strap of his bag with a lot of effort because his brother clearly refused to come grocery shopping with him and so Taehyung’s struggling with carrying all the bags in his hands, and his own thoughts in his mind.
Just when he’s adjusted the laptop bag on his shoulder, a man brushes past him, bumping his shoulder against Taehyung’s. “Hey! Idiot!” Taehyung yells, but the man seems to be in a hurry and pays him no attention. Taehyung grimaces, muttering something incoherent under his breath and then an older man taps on his shoulder.
The old man is panting heavily, his eyes teary, body shaking slightly. “Ahjussi—.. Wh-what happened? You’re sweating. Where you— oh, god! Why were you running, you should be careful!” He exclaims and the old man only tightens his grip over Taehyung’s shoulder.
“That man— he- he stole my bag. Please—” The old man trembles, tears spilling out of his eyes, cascading his wrinkled face, “Please help me, son. My- my So—sonnyeo asked me for a gift. My bag— the gift is in my bag. This is the only time I was able to buy so-something for her.” he sobs, and Taehyung immediately drops his bags and attempts to calm the crying man, passing him a bottle of water.
“Wait here, okay? I—”, he looks around, the alley is dark but he can’t not help the old man who’s crying while clutching onto him, “I’ll do something. Just wait here.” He then leaves his grocery bags with the old man, guiding him towards the bench across the road and then runs towards the direction in which the other guy who bumped into him has run.
He’s pretty sure it’s not the wisest of ideas, sue him for being empathetic, but he’s here, running like a madman clutching his laptop bag in his hand and following the guy who was stupid enough to stand just right in the next alley and empty the bag to check whatever the bag had in it.
“Hey, you! Stop! Return that bag, now!” Taehyung’s heaving while running but he doesn’t stop, he cannot stop because the thief apparently has some kind of supersonic power Taehyung thinks, for he's running like some athlete.
The man only stops when he bumps into someone else— more like being punched square on the face by someone else. Taehyung, with wide blown eyes, watches how the thief’s nose bleeds and the other masked man, dressed in all black, half of his face covered with his hood and half with the mask walks towards him, the small bag in his hand which he passes to Taehyung and turns away immediately.
“W-wait— th-thank you.” Taehyung gulps, the intimidating aura that surrounds the man making him uneasy and unable to breathe. He clutches the bag tightly when the man only nods in response, walking away from Taehyung.
He returns the bag to the old man then, earning a lot of blessings, soft kisses on his head in return. And then, once again, with another ton of thoughts in his mind about Jungkook and this incident, reaches home where his brother is waiting for him.
—
Taehyung’s been trying. He’s been trying to not let Jungkook’s presence affect him but how can he? When Jungkook is everywhere! Everytime he raises his head, peeks from his laptop he mostly finds Jungkook’s eyes on him, sometimes he looks away, sometimes he shamelessly stares. As if challenging Taehyung to do something. Anything.
Taehyung glares at him with the same defiance, same stubbornness he walked out of his office that one day with. But he cannot ignore how Jungkook’s gaze sometimes lingers on him, like he’s imprinting Taehyung, as if he’s binding some spell on him, making him freeze on his spot every time Taehyung feels those big doe eyes set on him.
He’s tried confronting him, a couple of times, after that day. But he failed, miserably so. Because Jeon Jungkook, Taehyung has concluded, is a certified asshole who only thinks about himself and gives absolutely zero fucks about what others might feel. So he eventually gives up.
Even then Taehyung cannot bring himself to not steal a few glances here and there when the CEO is not looking, or when he enters the office looking like the finest piece of exquisite art, his poise the kind that’d put greek gods to shame, his smile so charming as if it could make flowers bloom, his eyes so bright as if they contain hundreds of millions of stars in the galaxy in them.
He cannot bring himself to stop his heartbeat from fluttering everytime Jungkook would just as much as treat him — even though it’s with the other team members— to lunch or even company dinners where Jungkook would place an extra piece of steak in Taehyung’s plate leaving him blushing throughout the dinner.
And he just cannot ignore Seokjin’s words the elder once had muttered when they were on the way home after a meeting. ‘Jungkook might look, act like he’s a douchebag, an asshole, but Taehyungie— he’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever come across in life. I know, because I’ve seen him beyond his façade. It’s a wall he’s created, the wall of perfection to save himself from the fear he possesses. His imperfections— his insecurities have made him into the person he is today. One has to be very patient when it comes to dealing with him. He’s a good person.’
Taehyung knows Seokjin is right. He knows every word Seokjin said is true. He's felt it at times too. The façade, the image of a perfect man Jungkook has created for himself to hide whatever imperfection, whatever demons he might possess in the closet. He’s noticed those subtle gestures, those little moments where Jungkook’s guard wavers, his imperfect, true self peeks from within but he’s quick to regain his image.
So how could he not fall for someone like Jungkook?
This is the second time it happens, Taehyung thinks it’s some kind of twisted fate. Like that masked guy is god sent for Taehyung to save him because oh, well, Taehyung is a walking trouble magnet. He, willingly, walks towards trouble even though he knows it’s not going to bring him any good.
This time Taehyung did not have a shitty day at the office, he’s just boiling with anger, hurt and confusion because apparently his asshole boss, Jeon Jungkook, who is not interested in him, denied his request to let him transfer his cabin to some other room. Yeah, just that.
And that is when he bumps into a buff guy when he was once again mindlessly walking towards his home. He’s slightly tipsy because it was a good day to drink down his anger with the soju from the booth after office hours. It’s a weekend tomorrow anyway so he won’t have to worry about going to the office or working.
“ ‘m s-sorry—”, Taehyung’s words are slurred, but he’s sober enough to walk on his own and mutter coherent words.
“Should’ve watched while you walk.” The other man rasps, and Taehyung lets out an offended noise, the brat in him wriggling to dominate and teach that fucker a lesson. Also because Taehyung absolutely cannot, for the life of him, keep his mouth shut and stay put.
Taehyung snarls, attempting to punch that guy but his head starts spinning, a result of drinking three bottles of soju when he knows full well he's got low tolerance. Though soju is not even that much alcoholic, it still leaves his mind hazy and Taehyung's steps falter when he moves towards the other man, his hand closed in a fist.
The man doesn’t seem to be considerate though, he harshly pushes Taehyung against the wall, making him gasp and whimper, “H-hey— let me go!” Taehyung gathers all his force to push him away but the other man is obviously stronger than him. He holds Taehyung by his neck, Taehyung wheezes, gasping for air.
He knees the man, who groans and places his hand over his thighs in pain. “ You should’ve watched, you blind-ass bitch.” Taehyung pants between his words, fixing his shirt and attempting to walk away but the guy grabs him by the foot and Taehyung stumbles, his weight inclining towards the front and he waits for his face to plant flat on the ground.
Much to his surprise, he doesn’t. Instead, his face hits the chest of yet another buff man who has his arms secured around Taehyung’s back, supporting his weight. His eyelids feel heavy, lethargy taking over his senses, Taehyung feels himself go dizzy in the masked man’s arms.
He doesn’t know what happens next, just a few blurred images register in his mind like flashing memories, the next thing Taehyung knows, he’s passed out in those arms that eerily makes him feel like he's home after running miles.
“JK, what were you thinking when you brought him here!” Jimin almost yells, but Jungkook grabs him by his hand and drags him out of the room where Taehyung is sleeping, in Jungkook’s mansion.
The younger rubs his temple in annoyance, perplexed as to what the fuck happened to him, where the fuck were his senses when he decided to bring a passed out Taehyung, his employee he claims to not be interested in , right in his mansion surprising Yoongi, Jimin and himself altogether.
“I— I wasn’t thinking, hyung. Look he-he was in trouble, okay and I saved him and—”
“How did you even know he was in trouble, Kook?” Jimin clicks his tongue, hands on his waist, eyes boring holes in Jungkook’s face.
Jungkook sighs, “I saw him leaving the bar. I was there with Hajoon, we, he—”
“Did you finish Sanwook?” This time it’s Yoongi’s voice that cuts his sentence and Jungkook goes silent. He did not finish Sanwook.
He was there, Sanwook— his target, the guy who was dealing drugs under the name of Phantoms when it was a clear rule Yoongi had declared that their gang will never deal with that shit. Yet, he dared use their name and go ahead, invite his death like an antelope walking straight into a tiger’s den. He was there right in front of him, Jungkook had his gun pointed right at his head but then— then his eyes fell upon Taehyung who, with stumbling feet, was leaving the bar obviously drunk and defenseless.
“I- Hyung—”
“You did not just miss your fucking target and because of what?” Yoongi’s voice is stern, words dripping like a sweet poison when he speaks, “Because of that— that guy? JK, the fuck is wrong with you, huh? You’re trying to tell me you made another mistake? First you made Woojin wait for two hours in the warehouse one night because you were busy punching a random buffoon for stealing a fucking bag from an old man and now… You— Jungkook, you’ve never made a mistake, always made me proud, brother but—.. You let Sanwook live when you clearly told me you’re going there with Hajoon to finish him off once and for all? I’m.. I don’t know what else to say. Just— fucking find that rat and you better not disappoint me next time.” His words hit Jungkook like a truck.
‘You made a mistake.’
‘You always made me proud.’
‘You better not disappoint me next time.’
Jungkook slumps on the chair across the mini bar in their mansion, chugging the whiskey that leaves a burning sensation in his throat, “I’m sorry, hyung.” His voice is hoarse as if he’s trying to not break down in front of his brother and his fiance. “I’m— I’m sorry. I’ll do better.”
“Jungk—”
“I’m sorry.” Jungkook speaks and immediately rushes towards his room, lifts the beauty that is in deep slumber, in his arms and leaves the mansion without even sparing a glance at the two men who’re standing still in the living room, watching with guilt swimming in their eyes as Jungkook, with tears brimming in his eyes, strides across the place and leaves the mansion.
Thanks to his position in the company, Jungkook knows full well where Taehyung lives. His first thought was to drop Taehyung off to his own place but he has no fucking idea what came across his mind that he— one, decided to miss his target, let Sanwook go and two, bring Taehyung to his mansion.
After a hell lot of battles finding the key to his main door which was hidden under the soil of the pot Namjoon has hung beside their door, turning the lights on, carefully laying Taehyung on the bed making sure not to disturb him in his sleep, washing his hands after removing Taehyung’s shoes and covering him with the comforter—he’s here, sitting beside the bed, watching in a dazed, enchanted way as Taehyung huffs out warm breaths, his lips pouty, parted lightly, pretty lashes fanning his cheekbones, dark hair falling on his forehead.
“What are you doing to me, Taehyung—”, Jungkook whispers, brushing the strand of hair from his face, tucking behind his ear, “I never—.. never made a mistake in my life. Made sure to keep my life perfect, or at least make it appear perfect, but you,”, he gently grabs Taehyung’s palm in his own hands, cupping the sleeping beauty’s cheek with the other hand, “You just barged in with that fire you carry within yourself and burned the walls I took years to build around myself. Why? Why did I feel the need to follow you, protect you?”
Taehyung mumbles something which Jungkook fails to understand, he panics for a moment thinking the other’s awake but then smiles fondly when he realizes the other is just sleep talking. He keeps admiring Taehyung’s features, every mole on his face, his lashes, his eyebrows, the shape of his eyes, he traces the outline of his lips shuddering when his nerves jolt with the fire that ignites within him.
A raging desire, a burning passion to make Taehyung his. ‘Mine, mine, mine.’ his heart pounds in his chest, Jungkook stills as realization dawns upon him. Taehyung’s smile, his anger, his fury, his whining when Jungkook refused to let him shift his work space, his glares that made him look like a grumpy kitten. He’s falling—rather, he’s fallen for Taehyung.
All this while, somewhere between trying to push Taehyung and his own feelings away, and needing— craving Taehyung’s presence near him, in his office even though it was just stolen glances which somehow made his heart stutter in his chest, the smile that made him go through the day as if refreshing him in an angelic manner, the disappointed look, the words that Taehyung uttered that one day which made his ribcage constrict in a way that he felt his heart shattered when he didn’t even know what he feels for Taehyung.
Maybe it was infatuation, maybe it was just attraction, but now, now with the growing need of protecting Taehyung from every possible harm, making him smile like he did the night when he punched that thief and returned the old man’s bag; Jungkook feels himself smiling just at the thought of Taehyung smiling.
He’s not known this feeling, this emotion before. He’s still not sure how to acknowledge, accept and move ahead with it, but he knows it’s not mere attraction. The feeling has a name, Jungkook knows. A four letter word that carries the weight of the mightiest mountains, depth of the deadliest oceans. A word, a feeling so powerful, so strong that it has thunders erupting within his nerves, his senses shutting when he acknowledges the feeling. So he decides against it.
Because he knows— he knows full well that associating with him will bring only harm and danger to Taehyung and he will never, in a million years, want that to happen.
“I’ll keep you safe, I promise. From everyone—.. including me.” Jungkook mutters, pecking Taehyung’s forehead and slowly placing his hand on bed, closing the door of his room.
"Hey, little guy. So you’re my ba— Taehyung's baby, huh?" He crouches down, lifting the ball of fur who's whining near his feet. Jungkook has once heard Taehyung talking about his baby, Yeontan to Jin. He pets the dog, strokes his soft fur a couple of times and then carefully puts him back to his dog bed. “Always protect him, yeah? Keep him safe. He— he's a fucking trouble magnet, keeps attracting all kinds of mess. I don't know how you will, but... Just— keep him safe.”
With a sunken heart, mind disoriented with his thoughts and emotions clouding it up, Jungkook does what he thinks is the best.
Once again, he decides to stay away from Taehyung.

“Mr. Jeon, please.” Taehyung’s voice is low, soft, almost pleading. He’s tired of it. The way he’s been treated. The confusion fogging up his mind, he just wants a damn break from this. Anything which can tame the perplexity which builds up inside him everytime Jungkook is around. “All I want— am requesting you for is, allow me a leave for three days. I need some time to relax, there’s no upcoming product launch, I’ve completed all my pending works, so I believe there’s no reason for you to deny my request thrice .”, He’s tapping his foot, a bit annoyed with Jungkook’s behavior, “Besides, Seokjin hyung is the one who should take care of it, why are you intervening in our team’s affairs?” He accuses.
They’re on the way back to office from a meeting with Choi’s, regarding a stipend Jungkook suddenly came up with in their deal. Taehyung has no idea but he’s here, sitting next to the CEO in his very own car because a certain Jeon Jungkook didn’t want to take any chance of not being able to answer any technical aspects which might be questioned in the meeting. A shitty, fake excuse he knows, but he’s been making these fake excuses and shitty decisions quite often lately.
Jungkook knows, he knows full well he’s acting immature, childish and a bit out of the line. Taehyung has all the rights to take those leaves, but he doesn’t know how to function without Taehyung if he’s being very honest. Again, he knows he’s acting selfish and plain stupid but he can’t— he just cannot let Taehyung away from his eyes. Yeah, so much for staying away.
Yet another mistake. This time, with his professionalism. He really needs to stop letting Taehyung cloud his mind.
Realizing his stupid behaviour, Jungkook frowns, nipping on his bottom lip, “Fine, Taehyung-ssi, I’ll approve your leave. But, don’t you dare talk to me like that again. Don’t forget I am your boss. I, ultimately, take every decision in the company, every team, every employee is mine to handle.”
“Right.” Taehyung scoffs.
“Don’t give me that attitude, Taehyung.” Jungkook clenches his jaw at the sudden shift in Taehyung’s behavior. Well, Taehyung’s not the one to be blamed. It is his doing after all. “Know your place as an employee.”
The elder looks at him then, his eyes void of any emotion and it forms a knot in Jungkook’s stomach at how blank those eyes are. “I know my place very well, Mr. Jeon. Anyway you’ve made it pretty clear and have reminded me every time we’ve come across each other.” He smiles, again, a smile void of any happiness. A mocking, sarcastic smile.
“Tae—”
“Thank you for approving my leave. I’ll report to the office next Monday.” Taehyung’s already looking out of the window as he cuts off Jungkook abruptly. Suddenly the tall buildings of Seoul seem to appear more interesting than the absolute reincarnation of some greek god sitting right next to him.
Every cell inside Jungkook is screaming, screeching at him to just hold the hand that rests on Taehyung’s lap, reassure him, confess to him what he means to Jungkook but he decides otherwise. His eyes fixed on Taehyung’s face he couldn’t help but blurt the words that leave his mouth next.
“You were the one who said you’re not and will never be interested in me ever.” His voice is low, almost like he’s mumbling to himself but Taehyung seems to have heard what he said.
The elder male has now shifted his gaze from the dark sky where clouds are gathering up, gray hues overshadowing the orange and slightly purple sky, there’s high chances it’ll rain heavily. “ You were the one who said it first, Mr. Jeon. And why does it even matter if we’re interested in each other or not? You’re my boss, I’m your employee and that is what I will ever be. I know my place as an employee so you don’t need to remind me. Just a mere employee. Nothing more. E-ever.”
His voice breaks at the end, and with his voice breaks Jungkook’s heart. His skin itches, fingers tingling and he somehow ends up daring and placing his clammy palm over Taehyung’s hand. “Taehyung.. I— look I know I’m not the ideal boss one could wish to have and my words, my tongue seem to have no rein especially when with you. I blurt out whatever and I’m— I’m sorry for that. Just— you frustrate me, Taehyung.”
“I frustrate you?” Taehyung snorts, his voice followed by a humorless chuckle, “well then let me confess, you confuse me, Mr. Jeon.”
“I confuse you?”
Taehyung nods, shrugs and then looks away.
“How the fuck do I confuse you?” He knows full well how but he still ends up asking.
Taehyung sighs, rubbing his temple in annoyance, the rage inside him bubbling up at the oblivious nature of his damn boss, “You,”, he points his finger towards Jungkook in an accusing manner, “You say you’re not interested in me, but you don’t let me move away, move ahead, move on from you. Why!? Just why?”
“Wait— move.. on?” Jungkook blinks his eyes, mouth hung agape. There’s no way Taehyung has any feelings for him, well maybe anger hurt and hate is something he’ll live with but what the fuck does he mean move on. No. No. No. This cannot happen.
“Yeah. Pathetic, I know.” Taehyung sniffles, blinking away the stupid tears that pool in his eyes, “I know you told me very clearly you’ve got nothing to do with me. I know I told you I’ll never be interested in you, but—”, he pauses, gulps the lump that forms in his throat, “—but I couldn’t help myself, Mr. Jeon. You kept pushing me away but you also didn’t let me go. I repeatedly asked you to let me move my workplace, I-I wanted to stay away from you but you made it so— so hard. Why do you have to be so cruel?”
Jungkook curls his fingers over Taehyung’s palm, now entwining their hands as Taehyung’s words sink in his bones, hits him like a truck and he finds himself scooting closer, leaning towards the elder in an attempt to calm him. “And I know full well that there could be nothing between us, yet.. yet I ended up fall—falling for you.” Taehyung’s final words are followed by a choked sob. Jungkook feels his resolve crumble, his face turning pale while his heart thumps erratically in his chest.
“Taehyung, I— You like me? ”, Jungkook asks, not knowing what to do, what to say, how to say he fucking fell for him the moment he entered the office with his blinding smile that knocked the air out of Jungkook’s lungs.
The young CEO fumbles with his words, because there’s no way he’ll be able to let go now that he knows Taehyung likes him, but at the same time he knows the demons he carry within him, the blood that stains his hands, the darkness that follows him like a shadow which he can never get rid of. Taehyung’s too pure, too innocent for this. He deserves better. He deserves so much better. Not someone like him. Not him. No, not at all.
Taehyung passes him a wry smile, his lips trembling and eyes brimming with tears he’s trying his best not to let escape. “I do. I’m sorry but— but I like you. It’s clear that you don’t like me back but please, please don’t confuse me more than I already am. Just say it that you don’t like me so I could move on with this.. whatever pathetic emotions I carry with me. Please. ” Hearing those words from Taehyung’s wobbly lips has the same effect on Jungkook like the impact of a high speed train hitting one.
“You know nothing about me, Tae— you shouldn’t have..”, Jungkook groans, his fears, his insecurities pooling up in his eyes in the form of tears. The mask of perfection he always wears crumpling on the sides, begging to tear apart so Taehyung could see how fucking imperfect he is.
“How well we know someone doesn’t define— doesn’t matter when our hearts decide to take the reins, does it? And I- I know you’ll feel nothing the same way for me, I’m sorry for ruining the professional relationship we have, I assure you this will never be a problem when it comes to my responsibilities. I just need an answer and then I promise I won’t, I will never bring this up. Just tell me you don’t feel the same way and I’ll move on. I promise. I’ll try. I’ll keep on trying until I’ve completely overcome these feelings for you.”
Jungkook’s mind is a mess. No. He doesn’t want Taehyung to move on, but he also doesn’t want the dark clouds of his bizarre life hover above Taehyung. He’s supposed to push Taehyung away, he just needs to say he doesn’t like him back even if it’s a plain, white lie. But he cannot. He just cannot bring himself to say no. Not when Taehyung’s looking at him with so much love, so much hope, so much.. vulnerability.
For once, just this once, he decides to be selfish. He decides to make one more mistake and let Taehyung in, let him know he’s in deep, let himself love and so he does. He becomes selfish and leans in, lets go of Taehyung’s hand and cups his cheeks, their lips close, eyelids fluttering heavily.
“I like— love you, Taehyung.” Those are the words Taehyung hears before his brain short-circuits and his lips are captured by Jungkook’s soft ones.
It’s a tender kiss. Just the mere touch of Taehyung’s lips on his own but it feels as if the flame he was trying his best to not allow to ignite just erupted in the wildest fire that courses through his veins, burning down the walls and masks of perfection, the inhibitions he carried crumpled down his feet and Jungkook chases for those plush lips yet.
Feeling no reluctance from Taehyung’s end, he presses his lips against the elder’s, this time firmly letting his lips slot against Taehyung’s like two pieces of a puzzle, their breaths mingling together, one of his hand cupping and stroking Taehyung’s cheek, the other one tugging Taehyung close by his waist. Taehyung’s hands are clutching over his shoulder, pulling him in. Close. Close. So close that he’s almost sitting on Jungkook’s lap.
Taehyung smiles in the kiss, the type of smile Jungkook yearns for, and craves for. The type which brightens even the most shittiest of his days, the type that satiates him, the type that inspires him. The smile which serves like the ray of light breaking from the clouds and lighting up his dark life.
“Fuck! Tae— I love you.” Jungkook blurts out, and then chuckles when Taehyung pushes him impatiently, his body inclined over the car seat while Taehyung hovers over him.
“I love you, Mr. Jeon.”
“Jungkook. Call me Jungkook, please, Tae.”
Taehyung smiles widely yet again, cupping Jungkook’s cheeks and places a soft kiss on the younger’s lips, “I love you too, Jungkook.”
“Shit! Say it again.” Jungkook asserts, hands now snaking around Taehyung’s waist, guiding him close.
“Jungkook. I love you, Jungkook.” Jungkook never knew his name would sound so, so beautiful until he’s heard it from Taehyung’s mouth. He craves it more now. It makes him feel himself.
The car abruptly comes to a halt and Jungkook holds Taehyung tight so he wouldn’t lose his balance.
Paying no attention to the sudden halting of his car thinking it might be traffic or something, he’s just about to pull Taehyung in for another kiss, when he sees it. The red flickering dot on the glass of his car window. Jungkook wouldn’t have paid attention to it but given his other profession, he’s fully aware and sure of what it is.
“Fuck!” Jungkook nearly yells, shifting their position so Taehyung’s now lying flat on the leather seat of the car, Jungkook’s body covering him.
“Jungkook, wh-what?” Taehyung asks, confused and bewildered with the sudden ministration.
The younger quickly pulls out his phone from the pocket, dialing some numbers and finally looking out of the window and asking his driver what’s the matter. His driver hurriedly explains to him that there’s a bike in front of their car that stopped and so he had to, as well. But Jungkook knows better that this is not a mere coincidence.
“Taehyung— baby, I want you to listen to me very carefully. My driver here is going to drop you to the office. Stay there until I’m back, do not leave the place, don’t even think about going to your home, yeah?” He tries to explain Taehyung, as calmly as one can when they’re in a situation where the love of their life’s life is at stake.
Taehyung swallows hard, blinking his eyes in confusion, “What’s happening?”, he asks in a hushed voice, panic clear in that deep voice, “Why me alone? Where are you going?”
Jungkook places a lingering kiss over his forehead, a promising one that it’s going to be fine, “I- We— we can’t be together right now, I need to make sure you’re safe. I’ll come to you, I promise I will. And I’ll explain everything, just do as I say for now, okay?”
“Jungkook, you’re being so vague right now. I’m fucking panicking. Can you at least tell me what’s wrong?”
“I can’t. Not right now.”
“Then I’m not leaving. I’ll stay here, go wherever you’re going and won’t listen to you at all.” Taehyung huffs, and to add to his brattiness he even crosses his arms over his chest glaring at the younger.
Jungkook sighs, his jaw clenched and a sheen of sweat covering his forehead. He cannot believe he just confessed his love to Taehyung and the next moment his life is in danger. Why? Just why is his fate so fucking cruel?
“Baby, listen to me. Please. I’ll tell you everything. Each and everything but not right now. I need to—”, he doesn’t even get to finish his sentence when a bullet hits the window of his car. It’s bulletproof, Jungkook knows but the panic that surges within him is non-negotiable.
He’s scared. So fucking scared because Taehyung’s with him. And Taehyung’s life is in danger right now. Had he been alone, he’d have finished that fucker already even though it’s from a distance.
Taehyung yelps, his body jolting in fear when he looks at the obviously panicked state of the younger, “Stay in the car. Don’t leave.” Jungkook’s voice is stern, raspy. Taehyung’s eyes widen when he notices the dark demeanor Jungkook shifts to, his hand pulling out something which only makes taehyung lose his shit because it’s a fucking gun .
“Jungkook—”
“Just fucking shut up and stay in the car.”
Raindrops start pouring from the sky, the sound of rain splattering on the car and beside it, on the ground soon fills in the vicinity. Taehyung gulps and tries his best to listen to what Jungkook has said.
The car door opens and then shuts immediately, Taehyung doesn’t dare look outside the window. And since he isn’t looking, he misses the way Jungkook loads his gun, cocks it and shoots the man on the other side of the building. Misses how another guy, Hoseok, joins him and fights the men on the bike ahead of them which made their car halt abruptly.
He’s too lost in his thoughts, his fear, the obvious panic that surges within him. And then, just when Jungkook has his gun pointed on the forehead of a guy who’s kneeling in front of him, drenched in rain, Taehyung somehow, with shaky hands and a heavy heart opens the door of the car and steps out.
“Jungk—”, Taehyung’s eyes widen like a deer caught in a headlight, “Jungkook!” He exclaims and Jungkook mutters a curse, looking over his shoulder and his hands start trembling.
Shit.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
Taehyung’s not supposed to see him killing someone, he’s not supposed to know what Jungkook is behind the mask of perfection, he’s definitely not supposed to know it this way.
The moment Jungkook confessed his love, he decided he will tell Taehyung everything about his assassin life, about his brother, their gang, the type of shit they deal with. This was not supposed to happen.
But the cat was already out of the bag. Taehyung’s already seen it. Seen the kind of monster he is, seen the grimness he possesses behind that bright façade of a successful CEO. There’s no point in hiding it anymore, right?
So he does what he feels right, and ends up committing the biggest mistake of his life. He shoots the kneeling man right in front of Taehyung’s eyes. Taehyung’s eyes which were now swollen and red, the eyes which, just few moments ago, carried so much love, so much care for Jungkook in them; the eyes which saw the love Jungkook has for him— those eyes have now witnessed Jungkook being the killer he is, they’ve now seen the tainted soul, the killing machine of Phantoms.
“You— Jungkook.. This..”, Taehyung quivers, his drenched body shaking with sobs. Raindrops pour heavily, wetting them even more. Jungkook's eyes are fixed on his shaking frame, his own lips trembling and eyes stinging with the tears that pool in those orbs.
The clouds rumble over their heads, like a reverberating sound of drums echoing in the vicinity, “Tae—.. I’m sorry.” Jungkook takes a hesitant step forward which makes the elder stumble backwards, fear swimming in his eyes and Jungkook’s hand halts in mid-air, he finds himself incapable and unworthy of touching the pure soul in front of him, because of him .
“Don’t.” Taehyung clutches his drenched shirt, his entire body trembling as he lets out one choked sob after another, “Don’t t-touch me.”
“Tae— I-I can explain. Let me explain everything.”
Taehyung shakes his head, fear in his eyes, legs wobbling, he falls on the ground. His head starts spinning and he passes out right in the middle of the street.
This was the third time it happened. But this time, the masked guy who’s always saved Taehyung, ends up destroying him.

Taehyung didn’t return to the office after that night.
Jungkook is sure he never will, but his heart finds it impossible to move ahead in life. He’s spent days locked up in the room, drowning in alcohol. Whiskey, rum, wine, scotch, anything his hands would get a hold of. His life as an assassin, his life as a CEO— both stumbled, shaken up while he mopes in his room over his lost love.
It goes on like this for weeks, until one day Yoongi walked in his room, practically dragging him out of the confined space and almost shedding tears over the fucked up state of his younger brother. It took a lot of convincing and explaining, justifying how bad the company's condition could be, how the people who work for them might lose their jobs, how innocent lives would be ruined if he doesn’t get back to work.
Jungkook agrees, reluctantly. His heart is now just a piece of mass with the sole function of pumping blood— just like it was before Taehyung walked into his life. Just more painful.
The feeling of Taehyung’s lips over his own still lingers every time he touches them, the pain flares through him, making him weak in his knees. Sometimes the pain gets too much, so much that he has to cover it up with alcohol. Even then, Taehyung lingers. In his mind, in his heart, in each and every nerve of his.
It is only when one day a crying Jimin drags him out of the office and brings back home because Jungkook’s rarely there, always spending time in his office. Staring at the empty cabin which once belonged to Taehyung. He never allowed anyone to occupy it, hoping that one day he might— even though he knows it’s not possible— might see Taehyung sitting there.
“Jungkook, you need to stop doing this!” Jimin's voice is loud, echoing around the empty room where Yoongi is seated and Jimin and Jungkook stand across the hall.
“Hyung— what now?”
Jimin heaves a deep sigh, shaking Jungkook’s stiff body, “Why don’t you go explain everything to him? He’s seen only one side of this life. How would he know what exactly it is that you do when you won’t tell him?”
“He’s gone. He’s never coming back. And it’s for the better. He saw me—Phantom’s killing machine that night. Of course he left, how would he stay? How would anyone stay?”
“I stayed with Yoongi, you can’t decide if he’ll stay with you or not. But you need to explain him everything!”
“You stayed because you knew what Hyung is, from the start itself. Hyung didn’t create a façade of a businessman, a perfect tycoon with no dirt on his shirt. You stayed because you knew. Everything!”
Yoongi then gets on his feet, patting his brother’s shoulder, “He stayed because he loves me. He sees me beyond the killer I am. He sees me as Yoongi. He trusts me as Yoongi. And he stayed because he knows we don’t kill innocents or people for our benefits. He stayed because he knows what we do is right.”, He pauses, tugs Jimin closer, “We kill people but only those who’ve done something horrendous in their life. We kill because they have to be killed. Jimin stayed because I told him everything. Taehyung will come back, he will decide if he wants to stay or not, but you need to tell him, Jungkook-ah.”
“You’re being stupid, Jungkook. Go to him. You know where he is. You know everything, you just need to be brave enough to face everything. And for fucks sake, stop deciding what he will do when you haven’t even tried once!”
Yoongi tries to hold him back but Jimin is quick to stride across the room and grab Jungkook by the collar, “Just what the fuck do you think you are to decide for him? And guess what? You’re not even deciding for him, You’re playing a fucking sick game of push and pull, left him confused and frustrated, confessed and then never once went after him, just because you cannot decide what the fuck do you want!”
Jungkook doesn't reply, his eyes fixed on the marble floor as if that's the most interesting thing in the mansion right now.
“Fucking look at me when I'm talking to you.” Jimin grabs him by the chin, and a gasp immediately escapes his lips looking at the bloodshot red eyes of the younger male.
“Jungk—”
Jungkook yanks his hand away, averting his gaze from Jimin and Yoongi's piercing ones, “I have already decided. Not just for him, but for the both of us. I cannot let him come back because—”, the youngest male turns away from them, already moving towards the staircase, “— because I know I won't be able to catch him if he falls harder. And I won't let him hurt. I-I love him, he l-loved me, I destroyed everything and I— I can’t be the reason for his pain anymore. I’ve caused enough damage, hyung. Does that answer your question?”
And then he walks away, not even waiting for Jimin to reply.
Back in his room, Jungkook sits there, facing the moon that hangs in the dark blanket of sky, lighting it up and shining proudly. It reminds him of Taehyung.
Taehyung with his charming smile, Taehyung with his crescent eyes, Taehyung with his soft lips, his lips against Taehyung’s, Taehyung’s confession, his own confession.
‘I’m Kim Taehyung.’
‘You’re strong, Mr. jeon.’
‘I’ll never be interested in you.’
‘You confuse me.’
‘Jungkook. I love you, Jungkook.’
‘Don’t. Don’t touch me.’
A tear escapes his eye, cascading down his cheek, the cold air hits his face when he enters the balcony of his room, takes a seat on the chair and swipes across the numerous photos of Taehyung in his phone. All captured during one or the other event in their office.
He knows where Taehyung is right now. He knows he can go there anytime, explain everything to him. He knows the worst thing that can happen is him returning with his heart shattered even more. But what makes him more scared, more terrified is the fear on Taehyung’s face. He doesn’t want taehyung to look at him like a monster, he’s no monster but he’s portrayed himself as one that night.
And he cannot find the strength in him to face Taehyung after that. He’s done enough damage already.
Jimin and Yoongi’s words then ring in his ears, they blend with Taehyung’s confession.
‘I stayed with Yoongi.’
‘You can’t decide for him.’
‘He stayed because he sees me as Yoongi.’
‘Jimin stayed because I told him everything.’
‘He stayed because he loves me.’
Love.
Is love enough reason to stay? Is love enough reason to forget what he witnessed? Is love enough? Will love ever be enough?
Jungkook sighs, scrolls through his phone, his finger hovers one particular contact. He sighs, and then dials it.
“Hajoon-ah?”
—
Taehyung’s here. In Daegu, sitting on a bench in the park, where he jogs every morning. It calms him, the soft, cool breeze, the serene atmosphere. Atleast his thoughts are not running invariably, atleast they’re paused when he’s here. Atleast he’s not thinking about Jungkook constantly.
The fear still somehow jolts him awake at nights. The look Jungkook had in his eyes still remains in his heart. The way that unknown man died in front of his eyes still haunts him. The pain in Jungkook’s eyes still clenches his heart, but he’s trying. He’s trying to move on. He’s trying because there’s no hope. He saw Jungkook kill someone. And it’s not easy for him to forget. So he’s trying.
And he’ll try until every trace of Jungkook leaves his body, his mind, his heart, his soul.
“Hi.” He’s greeted with a soft voice, he opens his eyes and looks at the boy who’s seated next to him.
The boy is wearing a gray cropped top and matching shorts. His pink hair shines brightly and there’s a beaming smile on his face. “Hi.” Taehyung replies, not really wanting to be disturbed in the little amount of serene time he gets but also not wanting to come off as rude.
“The weather’s nice, isn’t it?”
Taehyung nods, passing a short smile, “Yeah, I guess.”
“I’m Hajoon, by the way.” The boy speaks with a soft voice and then pouts when he reads something from his phone. His bright smile instantly falters and Taehyung has no idea why, but he finds himself scooting closer and placing his hand over the boy’s shoulder.
“Hey..um.. What is it?” Taehyung asks carefully, not wanting to sound too intrusive.
Hajoon sighs, tuts his teeth, “My boyfriend.. We— um.. Broke up. It was a misunderstanding but I miss him.” He answers in a sad voice, his shoulders hunched in resignation, “He didn’t come back, clear the misunderstanding even once.” Hajoon sighs.
“Why don’t you go talk to him then?”
“Why should I? It was his mistake, why am I supposed to be the one who goes wagging my tail behind that fucker?” Hajoon grumpily mumbles, tilting his head a bit in annoyance.
Taehyung has to admit he’s adorable, “Well, just because he made a mistake, doesn’t mean you can’t go to him, confront him? Let him explain. You love him, right?” Hajoon nods instantly, “Then I don’t see the problem here, Hajoonie. Go to him. Talk. Yell. Scream at him. Let him scream and explain to you. It’s a misunderstanding, you know it right? Then why not be the bigger person and allow him a chance to explain? Maybe he had a reason to do whatever he did?”
Taehyung furrows his eyebrows, sighs and then grimaces as he feels the taste of his own words on his tongue. Did he give Jungkook a chance to explain? Did he even try to find out why Jungkook hid half of his identity? Did he even once try to ask Jungkook his reasons, his fears? Did he confront Jungkook even once? He loves Jungkook, Jungkook loves him, so why didn’t he let Jungkook explain?
“Then would you let me explain my reasons, Tae?”
Taehyung whips his neck so fast that Hajoon, for a split second, gets scared he might have broken it. “Hey— hyung, haha, don’t scare me like this y’know. And you, boss,” Hajoon looks towards Jungkook who’s standing there wearing a loose white t-shirt, his tattoos on full display and dark gray shorts, head hung low, hands clasped together, “Should’ve made some more dramatic entry.” He teases with a wink.
“J-Jungkook?”
Jungkook doesn’t dare look up. Well he did with the help of Hajoon, somehow ended up coming here in Daegu but now all he wants is either an albatross carries him away with its claws or the ground swallows him whole. Why the fuck did he think coming here would be a good idea? Now where do they go from here?
“W-what are you doing here? And—.. boss..? Who are you?” He then looks at Hajoon who’s carrying a sheepish, nervous smile on his face.
“I’m Hajoon, the hottest twink in the town and Phantom’s canary. In simple words, I’m boss— Jungkook’s informant.” Hajoon answers, batting his eyelashes, his chin jutted in a proud manner as if he’s some James Bond or something like that.
Taehyung blinks, tries to process the information but at the end gives up because he’s too tired . He was just planning on moving on and just like the previous times Jungkook’s back here, confusing him with shame written all over his face and guilt dripping with his posture.
“Tae— please, let me explain everything.” Jungkook mumbles, and Taehyung sniffles, blinking away the tears that brim in his eyes.
Hajoon immediately slides from the bench, already walking away and giving the two privacy to talk.
With slightly trembling feet Taehyung then walks towards Jungkook, lifts his chin in the most gentle manner and gasps when he looks at the one he loves— even though he thinks he should hate because Jungkook is a murderer, but he doesn’t— Jungkook’s eyes are red, guilt written all over his face, tears rolling down his cheeks and Taehyung immediately wraps his fingers around Jungkook’s wrist pulling him and making him sit on the bench.
“Should I.. uh.. where do I start from?” Jungkook fidgets with the hem of his t-shirt, eyes fixed on the ground not even glancing up to look at the other man sitting next to him.
Taehyung sighs, huffs out a deep breath and then slides his hand above Jungkook’s trembling one, “Why don’t you start with looking at me in the eye and explaining why you killed someone right in the middle of the street?” He asserts and Jungkook only gets even more nervous than he previously was.
Gone is the soft voice Taehyung has used with him, gone is the tender look in his eyes, gone is the fire that used to warm him. He has no one to blame but himself. Himself and his stupid, dumb brain who thought it’d be a great idea to shoot someone in the presence of the one he loves, especially when that someone has no idea of this side of yours. Bravo!
“Taehyung, well.. firstly.. I’m sorry.”
Taehyung cocks his eyebrow at him, as if challenging him to go into details. “What for?”
“Everything.” Jungkook replies, averting his gaze from Taehyung’s questioning eyes.
“What exactly is this ‘everything’?”
Jungkook sighs, nervously looking at him, nibbling his bottom lip, “Everything. Every secret I kept from you, every mistake I made, every lie I ever said. I had my reasons for that, Tae and I weren’t— still am not sure how will you react to it. I’m scared, Tae. I don’t.. I don’t want you to hate me.”
Taehyung notices the vulnerability that swims in those words, the genuine guilt, the shame. Everything is clear as a crystal but Taehyung finds himself hesitating to believe. Well, it’s not everyday that he falls in love with someone only to find out he knows absolutely nothing about that person. That night when Jungkook has said ‘you don’t know anything about me’, Taehyung thought it might have been something else, especially not the fact that Jungkook is a hitman, an executioner of the biggest underground gang in Seoul, which was ruled by none other than Jungkook’s own brother.
“I know you don’t trust me anymore, I don’t blame you for that. Had I been in your place, I’d have felt the same. You’re atleast giving me the chance to explain myself and I- you have no idea how grateful I am to you for that, Tae. I—”, he looks around them to make sure there’s no one else near them to hear what he’s going to say next, “My brother and I, we’re the bosses of an underground gang— Phantoms. We’re not.. we’re not like the normal ones though, we don’t deal with drugs, or arms, or any thing which might harm an innocent's life. We only,” Jungkook rubs his temple with one hand, the other hesitantly sliding his fingers under Taehyung’s palm in an attempt to lace them together.
Taehyung looks at him, notices the hesitation and fear and makes the move, intertwining their hands together and scoots closer to Jungkook, “I’m listening. I want to know, Jungkook. I-I love you. Still love you. As much as I want to hate you for whatever I witnessed that night, I still can’t bring myself to. Somewhere deep down my heart I always felt like there’s something deeper than what I witnessed. Just— just please tell me. Everything.”
“We do what the government fails to do. The government is bound to so many restrictions and always under some sorts of— surveillance and law— you can say? So, we do it for the Bureaucracy. We never had, and will never take an innocent’s life. Only the ones who’re a threat to the law and order and the ones who’ve done some atrocious act towards the normal people.” Jungkook tries his best to word it out in the simplest manner he could to make Taehyung understand he’s not wrong. He may be a killer but he doesn’t kill for fun, he kills because it has to be done. When there’s no other option left.
“Is it true? Whatever you said?” Taehyung’s reluctance is valid, Jungkook agrees to it. He would be hesitant to believe in someone too but at least Taehyung’s listening, giving him a chance.
“It is. I can take you to my brother, or anyone you want me to, so that you can believe in me. Just—”, his eyes sting with tears, lips tremble and the grip of his hand on Taehyung’s tighten, “Just please don’t hate me. I’ll go if you tell me you have nothing to do with me anymore. I’ll never show you my face. I am not asking you to forgive me because I know the impact that night must have left on you. I just—”, he sniffles, now sandwiching Taehyung’s hands in his own, “I just want you to know I’m not a bad person, Tae. And I— I really love you. I’ve never fallen in love, ever. And then you came— you came and I found myself falling into the rabbit hole from where there was no coming back. Please don’t ever doubt my love for you. For I have really, really loved you. I still do and I know I will always do. The place you own in my heart will always be yours. I promise. Just please— please don’t hate me.”
“It’s not easy,” Taehyung sighs, his eyes staring back into Jungkook’s pleading ones, “That night.. It still haunts me, Jungkook. I still— still see his face. It’s scary but— but I somehow felt like you’re a good person even th-though you’ve been nothing but an asshole to me.” He sniffles, blinking away his tears, “what haunts me more than that person being killed in front of me is your eyes.”
Taehyung traces his fingers over Jungkook’s eyes, his lashes which were not wet with tears, “I see your eyes in my dreams, I see they way your eyes were pleading that night, screaming at me to look away, begging to not believe what I just witnessed. Your eyes are dangerous, Jungkook. I feel like drowning in them, they pull me in, every fucking time and I—I don’t know how to look away, how to walk away when I have all the reasons to. Even in these past weeks, my heart kept waiting. Somewhere in my mind I had the image of you holding a gun pointed at someone who I had no idea why was being killed, imprinted in my mind. But my heart— it kept hoping you’ll come. You’ll come and you’ll tell me everything I saw was a nightmare. It’s not, I know and now it’s more difficult for me to understand and accept it all. But now that I know your reasons— I don’t hate you, even when I didn’t know, I didn’t hate you, Jungkook. I love you. I still love you but it’s not easy for me to accept everything at once.”
Jungkook cups his face with both his hands, tears streaming down both their faces, lips wobbling and close to each other, “Take your time, Tae. Take as much time as you need, I’ll be here. If you don’t want me then I’ll go. You don’t hate me and that is the most important thing for me right now. But— but if you want me in your life just as much as I want you, I’ll be here. I don’t care how much time it takes I’ll be here. I promise you.”
“Jungkook— I’m.. I’m just Taehyung. Why would you waste your time on me? You— You’re a CEO, a-a hitman, you can get anyone you want I don’t even know why you love me.”
“I love you because you’re you, Taehyung.”
Taehyung chuckles, a humorless sound that reverberates inside Jungkook’s every nerve, “Exactly. I’m just me. Just Taehyung.”
“And you make me wanna be Jungkook with you. Just Jungkook. Not some CEO, not a hitman, just Jungkook. Your Jungkook. ” Jungkook presses his lips over Taehyung’s cheeks, kissing away the tears, “Can I— can I be just Jungkook with you?”
Taehyung nods, pulls Jungkook in his arms in a bone crushing hug, “It’ll take time, I don’t know how much but I don’t wanna let you go. I want you to be my Jungkook, just my Jungkook.”
Jungkook blinks, unable to believe his ears. Is Taehyung really giving him a chance? Even after everything? “Does— does that mean you.. you’re giving me a second chance, Tae?”
“I am. I don’t want to regret not giving you a chance. We all deserve a second chance in life, Jungkook. Your intention wasn’t wrong, what you do, isn’t wrong but it’s something different, shocking and new for me so I need time.”
“You can take all the time in the world, baby. I love you. I love you so much, Tae.”
“I love you more, Jungkook. Please don’t give up on us, not so soon.”

It has been a few months or so now since they got together. And in this time period of him being woo-ed by Jungkook, he’s noticed one thing quite often. As much as Taehyung would like to think otherwise, he’s actually loving this thing about Jungkook.
The thing being — Jungkook being clingy. He’s not really clingy, Jungkook would like to call it being— romantic, or protective maybe? But Taehyung’s loving it, even more than he admits. Shy glances, Jungkook randomly holding his hand, stealing a few kisses here and there in the office, or just sometimes cornering Taehyung casually every time the beauty would try to leave his office room.
He’s constantly and practically attached by hip to Taehyung. It has become a perfect routine now, waking up next to Taehyung, their limbs entangled together, hair messy, cheeks puffy, clothes disheveled. They didn’t do the deed yet, for Jungkook’s still slightly wary of it. He told Taehyung they’ll be taking it slow but the latter thinks they’re just too slow now. Slower than a damn sloth.
There are days where Jungkook wakes up to the smell of fresh pancakes or kimchi toast being prepared in the kitchen. He groggily drags his feet to the place, hugging his lover from behind, his chin tucked over Taehyung’s shoulder, arms encircled around his torso. Or sometimes he’d wake up before Taehyung, tracing the moles on his flawless face, connecting them like constellations, pressing his lips softly over the spots.
Life’s perfect, truly, Jungkook now feels it. The empty void in his heart, being filled up completely with the love Taehyung poured in him. He never thought he’d deserve it, but Taehyung— Taehyung made him believe he does. He made Jungkook break those walls he built around himself and made him be himself.
Jungkook. With Taehyung, he’s just Jungkook. Not the ruthless CEO of Jeon’s Corp., not the merciless executioner of Phantoms; he’s just Jungkook. And he’s happy. Content.
“G’morning, Angel.” Jungkook softly whispers, kissing and nipping over the shell of Taehyung’s ear.
Taehyung groans as sunlight creaks from the window, and then turns around, burying his face in the crook of Jungkook’s neck, making the latter chuckle and wrap his arm tightly around his waist. “Someone’s grumpy in the morning.” he scoffs and Taehyung only shifts his entire weight over the CEO’s body.
Jungkook’s not complaining. He’d never if he’s being honest. If anything, he’d literally die for this moment to last longer. Jungkook can’t even deny the fact he absolutely craves and begs for moments like this ever since he got Taehyung back.
Holding Taehyung close in bed, hands caressing the latter’s fluffy brown locks he presses feather light kisses over Taehyung’s head, “We’ll get late, Angel. It’s already 11 AM.” Jungkook murmurs, nuzzling his nose over the beauty’s cheek.
Taehyung hums, his action reverberating a vibration over Jungkook’s skin and sending shivers down his spine. Jungkook’s hands rest at the dip of his spine, open mouthed kisses now being planted over his neck since he’s seemingly shifted in his position.
“Baby—.. we need to take Tan-ah and Bahm for their routine checkup with the vet. Also, there's a party in the office, which you are the one responsible for, did you forget?”
Bahm, the newest family member they adopted just a few weeks ago because Taehyung said Yeontan needs a sibling and Jungkook, like the whipped lover he is, couldn’t deny his baby’s request.
And that is all it takes for Taehyung to roll over on the bed, his long, tanned legs exposed and Jungkook has to fight the urge to kiss him, praise him and literally worship him right here, right now. He joins Taehyung in the shower though, it saves time Jungkook reasons when Taehyung asks why he’s in the bathroom too.
They snuggle with their two babies, play around for a few minutes and then carry both the canines to the vet.
Once they return from the vet’s, Taehyung glances at the clock in their room. It’s 5 PM and the Valentine’s day party, which was, yet again, Taehyung’s idea which Jungkook couldn’t refuse to, starts at 7. So they have a little bit of time to relax before they get ready.
The next one hour passes by with Taehyung giggling while Yeontan and Bahm lick his face, play with him and Jungkook sitting on the couch admiring his little world in front of his eyes. Yoongi and Jimin did offer them to live together in the mansion, but Jungkook was the first one to refuse.
He wants his privacy and a new life which he has started with Taehyung and he wants to fill it with all the light Taehyung radiates. He’s still an assassin of Phantoms, he still goes on killing sprees but he’s not hesitant about it anymore, because Taehyung’s not scared about it anymore.
It took them a lot of time to accept and adjust to the fact but with mutual understanding and the love that flows in their relationship, they somehow did get used to it.
The first few weeks passed with Taehyung still having his guard up, eyes still carrying the glint of fear in them which every time broke Jungkook’s heart. Patience. He has been ever so patient with Taehyung, assuring and reassuring him that he’s safe, that he’s not making a mistake. The next few weeks had Taehyung randomly waking up in the middle of night, panting heavily, cheeks stained with tears and breathing unevenly when that night visited his memory in the form of a nightmare. Jungkook soothed him, whispering calming words, sweet nothings, promises of love and hope and safety.
Then the next ones, they had their shit together, Taehyung’s nightmares were almost gone, he’s not wary anymore after having talked to Jimin, Yoongi, Hoseok and Seokjin. The fact that Seokjin knew about their other business was yet another shock Taehyung has dealt with but with time he’s now understood that it wasn’t an easy thing to share with anyone.
If anything, it’d have brought more danger to them and the ones that knew about it. Namjoon has also been his emotional support at times when things got too much for him to handle and when he was worried every time Jungkook went out for a mission. His brother had to calm him by making his favorite hot choco and distract him by talking about their childhood memories.
All of them have made equal efforts to accept and move ahead in their life with the newfound people in their life, their darkness, their imperfections and their realities. At some point, Taehyung and Jungkook, both, realized it is very natural to carry some darkness within ourselves which we never show to anyone, afraid of losing that person but they also have realized that the true ones who love you will, love you, no matter what and will serve as the ray of light in those dark times.
Now, all Taehyung does when Jungkook informs him he’s got a new target, is to kiss Jungkook senseless until he’s sure it’ll be enough until the younger returns and sends him off with a ‘Go kick some ass, baby.’, which has Jungkook smile like the idiot in love he is all the time.
—
Huge chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, golden and red lights lighting up the ambience, free-flowing drinks and soft music playing in the background. The party is, what Taehyung calls it, lit.
Taehyung watches from the corner table where he’s sitting with Jimin and Seokjin. He’s wearing a back-buttoned satin, sleeveless shirt with a black coat and matching black pants. Hair slicked back in a prim proper manner. Dressed in a black clad suit, Jungkook is there, making small talk with employees and other guests who’re attending the party.
Nobody wants to miss an invitation from the Jeons after all.
It has been months now, since they got together, and as much as he’d like to address this, Taehyung finds it difficult to express his desire of getting more intimate with Jungkook and taking their relationship to the next level. He’s tried it, a couple of times when their innocent kisses turn into hot and messy make-outs but that was it.
Jungkook has always been reluctant, always suppressing his own needs. Taehyung understands, he always does but now it irks him. And right in this moment, sitting across the table watching his lover mingle with everyone in the room an idea strikes his mind.
Lips turning into a mirthful smirk, he whispers in Jimin’s ear which makes the latter burst into a fit of giggles too and with a wink to the other two, he’s on his feet. A glass of champagne in his hand, eyes fixed on his lover, Taehyung struts his way across the hall.
Jungkook watches him the whole time, sometimes subtly, sometimes shamelessly. He’s watching his love go around, talk to other men, place his hand on their shoulders, giggle and laugh with them as if they’re oh so interesting.
And Jungkook knows better, Taehyung’s doing it all just to gain his attention for his eyes are always on him. His lips are curled in a smirk and Jungkook’s finding it way too difficult to control the urge in him to slam Taehyung against the wall, or claim his lips right in the middle of the hall, and show him who his lover is, show everyone who Taehyung’s lover is.
He controls himself for a while, maybe an hour or two. But Taehyung’s pushing his buttons, all the right buttons and Jungkook finally snaps when Taehyung leans towards some guy’s ear and whispers something, his lips too close to that fucktard’s skin and every inch in Jungkook burns.
Jungkook waits no longer then, wraps his arm around Taehyung’s waist, passes a look to Jimin and Seokjin and drags him out of the party hall ignoring all his protests and whines, ignoring the way Taehyung raises a thumbs-up to the other two who’re now laughing like maniacs.
Taehyung yelps the moment Jungkook slams him against the wall of his room, “Kook— what the fuck?!” He almost screams, prying away from Jungkook’s hold.
Jungkook snarls at him, one hand holding Taehyung’s hand behind his back while the other one slammed on the wall, “What the fuck are you doing, Taehyung?” He’s pissed off, venom dripping in his voice.
He presses himself closer to Taehyung. His big, strong hands now gliding possessively down his sides to his hips, gripping at them hard, before tugging him closer, their lips clashing in a heated kiss. Taehyung mewls in the kiss, hands finding home in Jungkook’s raven hair.
“Did you really think I wouldn’t notice that?” Jungkook huskily mutters, his lips now traveling south, sucking bruises over his neck and collarbones, hand now snaking around the back, unbuttoning Taehyung’s shirt and untucking from the pants, “Answer me when I ask you a damn question.” He rumbles, gripping the other man’s hair harshly. Hard enough to make him look at him directly in the eye but not too harsh to hurt him.
“Kookie—.. W-what did I do?” He has the audacity to feign innocence even after knowing clearly what he did.
Jungkook roughly discards his shirt, throwing it somewhere in the corner, scooping and lifting Taehyung in his arms bridal style and roughly pushes him over the soft mattress of their bed. Taehyung yelps, but the smirk on his face never falters, eyes carrying a teasing glint purposely riling his lover even more.
“Kookie.. I’m sorry..” He sing-songs, batting his eyelashes, grinning mirthfully when Jungkook’s orbs darken at the mockery laced in his voice. He knows very well that Taehyung is far from being sorry.
The younger hovers over him, slipping out of his own shirt and piling it up with Taehyung’s, “Yeah? You don’t really look sorry, Angel—”, Jungkook tugs his hair again earning a breathy moan from the elder, “Why don’t you try again, hm, doll ?”
Taehyung’s cock twitches, the tight fabric of his boxers and pants erupting a groan from the back of his throat. Jungkook presses his knee between Taehyung’s thighs, right beside his crotch. “Words, doll. You were being all mouthy in the office, going around like a little boytoy from one man to another. You thought I’d let it go, huh?”
“I-I’m sorry.” The elder breathes out, swallowing hard and shutting his eyes close when Jungkook pushes him roughly on the bed. The feeling of being manhandled igniting sparks of excitement in his veins. “But— it-it wasn’t my fault though. You weren’t paying any attention to me.” He pouts, slender fingers slyly playing with the hoop of Jungkook’s pants.
“Mhm.. so, if I won’t pay attention to you, you’re gonna throw yourself at every man you see. Is that so, huh?” Jungkook’s voice is deep, octaves lower than his normal one and it has heat pooling in Taehyung’s stomach. The little flutters of desire coursing through him which makes him rub his thighs against Jungkook’s, rutting himself and earning another curse from Jungkook’s mouth.
Taehyung whimpers, his cock twitching under his boxers with every groan, every curse Jungkook throws at him. “Wanted— wanted you to show me who I belong to. tch. Shame. You’re not indulging me.” He rolls his eyes and Jungkook grabs him by the jaw then, “Is it so? You want me to show you who you belong to huh? Well then let me indulge you, doll.”
He then discards Taehyung’s pants and his own too, shifting their position so now the elder is sitting above him, both of them stark naked in all their glory.
Jungkook lets himself bask in the sinfully pleasant sight in front of him, Taehyung sitting on him, his back arched, ass right over his erect member and the elder’s cock standing tall and proud, slit gasping and gleaming with beads of precum that has settled on the tip. His eyes are hooded, lust clearly swimming in those dark orbs, teeth nibbling over his lips and long, pretty hands roaming over Jungkook’s chest.
“Now, I want you to answer me, alright?”
Taehyung nods, stares back at the man under him, “Words, doll.” He hears Jungkook muttering, strong hands gliding up and down his bare waist, kneading the soft flesh and finally resting over his perky globes squished over Jungkook’s inner thighs.
“Yes. I’ll answer.” He replies, feeling giddy with the way Jungkook’s fingers squeeze his ass cheeks, caressing the area with a firm movement of his hands.
“Good.”
“First, did you really think you’re sly enough to pull that stupid stunt at the party and mingle with every man you see, hm?” His voice is low, authoritative and Taehyung knows better he’s not in the mood to joke, “Why’d you do that, doll?”
“I—..”, Taehyung fumbles with words, blinking his eyes rapidly, “I told you.. I wanted your attention. You— you haven’t— we haven’t and I’m.. I need you, Kookie..” He whines, fingers now playing piano over Jungkook’s exposed chest.
“Yeah? You want me to fuck you, huh?” Taehyung nods at the question and Jungkook chuckles, fingers digging in the flesh of his ass harshly, “You want something, you fucking ask for it. You don’t need to go around and throw yourself at every other man, do you get that, doll? You’re lucky none of that bastard dared touch you or I swear— I swear I would have—”
“You what, hm?” Taehyung asks, leaning towards Jungkook, hands securely positioning and supporting him over the younger’s body.
“I’d have killed them.” Jungkook smirks as he replies and the words hang thick in the air. His fingers dig even harder into Taehyung’s ass, one of his fingers now circling the rim of the elder’s pucker. The heat from his words leaves goosebumps on his skin as it sinks beneath the surface, heading straight down, right to the pit of Taehyung’s stomach. “And, my love, you know very well that I am not kidding.” Taehyung knows— he knows Jungkook’s not lying. Knows that he will, in fact, kill anyone who’d dare touch Taehyung in the slightest displeasing manner.
It only arouses the elder and Taehyung rubs himself, the cleft of his ass creating a burning friction when it comes in contact with the younger’s flushed cock. He places his hands on the side of Jungkook’s face, thumb caressing over the scar on his left cheek, “I love you, Jungkook.” He presses his lips over the younger’s cheeks, “And I’m yours, yeah?” His lips rest over Jungkook’s parted ones, “Only yours.”
Jungkook grabs him by the chin, dark lustful eyes staring right at each other, “Good.” He murmurs, claiming Taehyung’s lip and forcefully thrusting his tongue inside the elder’s mouth. One of his hands slips up to the back of the elder’s head, tugging at the soft tresses before he fists them.
Taehyung moans in the kiss, the noise muffled as a result of Jungkook’s own lips pressed against his, tongue prodding in and out hastily. Jungkook swirls his tongue under the cavern, tasting the bittersweet after-taste of the champagne that still lingers.
His lips finally leave Taehyung’s mouth, traveling down to his jaw and neck, sucking and biting on the tempting, flawless skin begging to be marked. He revels in the blissful feeling that courses through him, watching as the skin acquires blooms of red which turns maroon in minutes. “I love you, Taehyung.” He presses those words against Taehyung’s skin. Every kiss, every bite, every little nibbling and sucking at his skin being an affirmation of his unsaid feelings.
“I love you more, Jungkookie.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Pass me the lube from the first drawer and get on your fours, doll.” Taehyung does as ordered, he complies oh so obediently it has Jungkook breathe out a moan looking at how eager and pliant his lover is. He trails wet, open mouthed kisses from Taehyung’s neck, traveling all the way down his back and sucking a dark bruise over the dip of his spine.
“Y’know, doll, I saw the entire show you put on there.” Jungkook rubs his hands in a circular motion over the elder’s soft globes. “I saw clearly how you fucking fixed that lowlife’s coat.” He lands a tight slap on Taehyung’s ass cheek, his action jolting the elder in surprise, his skin burning at the sensation.
“Kook—” Taehyung pants, tears pooling in his eyes and fingers curling over the soft sheets under him.
Jungkook then presses his lips over the stinging mark, as if soothing the burn and then he speaks again, “I saw how you were laughing with — what was his name? Kang-Dae, right? I saw how you were looking at me, while accepting that glass of champagne from him.” Another slap lands on his left cheek then, and Taehyung almost collapses on the bed. He doesn’t though, courtesy of Jungkook’s hand tightly curled around him, keeping him in place.
“Kookie.. I said— I said I was sorry.” Taehyung cries, his words hoarse, vision blurry.
“Oh, doll, you didn’t look very sorry while you were pulling off that little stunt though. How can I let it go easily, hm?” His words are accompanied with another harsh force of his hand over the elder's ass and then the younger teases Taehyung’s rim with the tip of his cock, smearing the precum over the pucker while keeping his hands busy kneading the beauty’s perky ass.
The cap of the lube bottle pops open and falls somewhere on the bed, Jungkook, without any warning, enters his long, agile finger in the clenching pucker, “f-fuck! Kook!!” Taehyung screams at the sudden intrusion, and pushes his hips back, desperately begging for more. His own cock throbs, veins popping angrily and precum oozes out of the glans.
Taehyung tries to reach for his aching, abandoned cock, but another loud slap on his ass and an addition of another finger in his quivering hole makes him choke on a loud sob. “My sweet little doll, you don’t get to touch yourself. You get that?”
“Kook, please. Please let me touch myself.” He lets out another sob when Jungkook harshly tugs on his hair and tilts his face. His composure almost falters looking at the lamentable condition of his lover. Eyes teary, lips swollen and red, cheeks flushed in the deepest shades of pink and stained with dried tears.
“Baby, you okay, right? Am I— Am I being too rough?” His demeanor instantly changes from punishing to concerning and Taehyung’s lips break into a smile. He shakes his head in dismissal, a small drop of the happiest tear rolling down his cheek as he basks in the concerning and careful tone of the younger.
Well, this is the first time they’re having sex and Jungkook just wants to make sure he isn’t crossing any limits. As much as he’d like to ruin Taehyung, he needs to make sure the elder is comfortable and happy with this as well. “pfft. You’re such a softie, Kookie.” Taehyung giggles, “I’m not gonna break. Go on, I’m loving this side of you. Don’t go all soft—o-oh fuck!”, he yelps when Jungkook adds a third finger, hitting right over his prostate and Taehyung loses it completely.
With no warning, he spurts out warm ribbons of cum, spoiling the sheets under him. And Jungkook is left amused. Taehyung came undone, untouched and he hasn’t even started yet. He snickers behind him, but rubs the elder’s back in a soothing manner.
Taehyung swallows his cries and pants under him, his body heaving as he rides his high. “Did I allow you to come, doll?” The elder shakes his head at the question, lets his tears fall on the bed sheets. “Did you even ask me to come, hm?” Jungkook pulls out all three of his fingers together, leaving the beauty under him gasping and a whine slips out of Taehyung’s lips.
“You need to learn some discipline, don’t you think so?” Taehyung whimpers and squirms, wriggling his hips at the lack of Jungkook’s touch. He tilts his neck just enough to spare a look at the younger and looks at his lover with pleading eyes. Jungkook has leaned backwards, his back straight, darkened orbs glaring at his quivering body. “Let me teach you a lesson, doll.”
His jaw clenched, expression dark and Taehyung shuts his eyes close, mewling as Jungkook smacks his ass once more, eliciting a loud sob of pain and pleasure. “You’re not allowed to come until I command you to do so, is that clear?” He latches his mouth over Taehyung’s neck, sucking his skin harshly, grinning mirthfully as a dark purple mark blossoms over the untainted skin.
“I—I’m sorry. I’ll be good.” Taehyung cries out, feeling the tip of his lover's thick cock pushing its way inside his gaping hole. Jungkook pushes in, and then pulls out immediately making Taehyung lose his goddamn mind with the teasing. “Kookie.. Please .” He whimpers, blood rushing hotly in his veins reaching his own member and in a minute or so Taehyung’s hard again.
Jungkook smirks, twisting and pinching one of Taehyung’s nipples between his thumb and index finger, “You think you deserve it, doll? I think I should just leave you here, tease you until you’re nothing but a worn out mess under me. And I won’t even let you come. Won’t that be amazing?” He teases the slit of Taehyung’s cock, smearing his precum and gliding his fingers to the base, his thumb securing the opening of the slit as a reminder that Taehyung’s not allowed to come, until he says so.
“I do. I’ll be good, I promise. Won’t— won’t do this again.” Taehyung pleads again, his eyes shut tightly partly with pain and partly with the immense pleasure Jungkook’s hands are providing him with. Even the punishment is so, so exciting he helplessly releases more precum which oozes out on Jungkook’s hand. “Please fuck me.” He breathes out, knees turning jelly, hands trembling at the stimulation.
Jungkook hums, pushing half of his length inside Taehyung’s hole, “You’ll be good?” Taehyung nods, he rolls his hips slightly and both men hisses at the action, “Won’t do this again, right?” Taehyung jerks his head hastily, complying like an obedient pup, “You’ll come when I tell you to come and you will never act like a fucking flirt with any other man, yeah?” He then finally pushes his entire girth inside the cavern.
Taehyung sobs, clutches the sheets tightly, shakily breathing as he adjusts to the thick girth of Jungkook’s cock. “I’m— I’m sorry. I’ll be good. I’ll be good for you.” Taehyung writhes, his words coming out slurred and voice hoarse.
“Only me?”
“Only you.”
Jungkook groans and begins to move his hips, his length ramming in and out of Taehyung, who moans with the raging desire that burns his senses, making him unable to think of anything else except Jungkook. Shameless sounds of unfiltered moans, and skin slapping against each other fills the room, Jungkook strokes Taehyung’s erection at an agonizingly slow pace, rubbing his thumb over the glans, cursing as he feels tepid fluid leaking from the elder’s cock.
“Fuck— doll.. You’re taking me so well.” He pulls out his length completely, Taehyung whines and then screams the moment the younger slams his entire girth back inside with a harsh force. “Jungk— Oh gosh! I’m gonna— Please.. I wanna come.” He whimpers, rolling his hips backwards in desperation.
Jungkook sets a punishing pace, slamming rough and hard, securely holding Taehyung’s hips with both hands, gripping so hard, he knows it’ll surely leave bruises. Taehyung’s mouth hangs open in ecstasy, the feeling of Jungkook’s cock prodding in and out of him sending his mind into oblivion.
The younger groans against his skin, guttural and deep. Taehyung feels the reverberation and just cannot control the obscene sounds that escape in the form of unfiltered moans from his mouth. Jungkook pounds into him, relentlessly, his pace animalistic accompanied with grunts and groans.
The tip of his cock hits the bundle of nerves of Taehyung’s prostate again, and again, and again. Taehyung’s reduced to nothing but a sobbing mess under him as his achingly hard cock continues to leak. “You wanna come, doll?” Jungkook whisper-asks over his neck, his hand tracing the popping nerves of Taehyung’s cock, thumb circling his glans.
“Jungkook—” Taehyung mewls, writhes under him, “Kookie please…”
The younger hums, smirks over his skin, Taehyung feels the curling of Jungkook’s lips over him, “You’ve behaved well, doll. But— do you think you deserve to come?” He nips on the delicate, sensitive skin right behind the shell of Taehyung’s ear.
Taehyung’s cock throbs at the ministrations, the pain vibrating through every nerve of his body, the elder only nods in response.
“Words, doll.” Jungkook snarls, teasing his tip right over the elder’s prostate.
“I've been g-good. I deserve to come. Please let me come, Kook…” His inner walls clench around Jungkook’s cock, who grunts the elder’s name sensually, his thrusts become uncontrollably erratic, feeling his own orgasm crashing over. “Come for me, doll.” He mutters and squeezes the elder’s erection just once, clutching him tightly as his own thrusts become languid and he spurts thick ropes of cum inside Taehyung.
Taehyung feels the hot liquid paint his insides, even oozing out of his ass with Jungkook’s final sloppy thrusts. He shudders, his body jerks a bit and Taehyung finally collapses against the bed, Jungkook lying next to him with his limp cock still buried inside Taehyung’s tight walls.
“Fuck— Kook, that was—..” Taehyung breathes heavily, voice muffled with the pillow under his face, “You’re a fucking beast.” He hisses when Jungkook moves closer, his cock brushing over the insides of Taehyung’s spent hole.
Jungkook’s lips curl into a devilish grin against his neck before he kisses the elder’s sensitive skin. “You love this beast though.” He nuzzles his nose, inhaling a lungful of the elder’s scent. Taehyung smells of sex and sweat, the faint smell of his cologne blended with the sweaty scent and Jungkook couldn’t help but moan at the feeling.
As soon as Jungkook pulls his cock out, an immense, deep satisfaction bubbles within him at the sight of his cum dribbling down Taehyung’s inner thigh. “Fuck Tae—.. you look so sinful.” He breathes against Taehyung’s neck, now turning the beauty in his arms and claiming his lips in a soft, yet passionate kiss.
Their tongues lazily dance against each other, soft noises of hums and moans being swallowed by the other’s mouth. Taehyung’s eyelids flutter, lethargy taking over him and the after effects of his release now clouding his mind.
“Tired, angel?” Jungkook cards his fingers through his lover’s hair, stroking it ever so gently and Taehyung only responds with a soft hum.
After a lot of whining and protests from the elder, Jungkook finally leaves the bed, and returns with a warm, damp cloth to clean both of them. Peppering soft, feather-light kisses over each and every inch of Taehyung’s body, he discards the cloth in a corner of the room, and finally pulls the comforter over their snuggled, naked bodies.
“Tae?” Jungkook whispers, one hand snaked around Taehyung’s waist in a secure grip while the other plays with the elder’s slightly damp hair.
Taehyung’s gliding his finger over the younger’s chest, nosing the skin of his lover and humming contentedly in response, “What is it, Kookie?” He softly whispers, pouty lips pressing over Jungkook’s chest while he lazily mutters those words.
“Thank you.”
Taehyung tilts his head, looking at his lover with confusion, “Why?” He chuckles and stares at Jungkook with furrowed eyebrows and squinted eyes.
“Just— Thank you. For loving me. For making me believe I can love and I can be loved too. I never,” Jungkook sighs, kissing the crown of Taehyung’s hair, “Never thought I’d be capable of receiving love. I just— My profession never made me dream of it, y’know. I was just going around, killing those baddies on one hand and being an asshole boss on the other. But then you came and—”, He chuckles, tugging Taehyung close, “You came and literally turned my whole world upside down. Made me commit mistakes, distracted me from my work and I found myself giving in, repeating those mistakes if they led me to you. You accepted me, with all my darkness and I’m just so.. so lucky to have you in my life. You’re the ray of that bright, celestial light in my dark world, y’know that? You— You’re my moon. I love you.”
Taehyung sniffles, his lips trembling and he hits Jungkook’s chest hard, “You— You idiot! Who makes their lover cry right after fucking them into oblivion, huh?” The elder aggressively wipes his eyes and Jungkook giggles, cupping his cheek with one hand, “I love you more, Kookie. Thank you for not giving up on me— on us. I-I accused of so many things, even left you here alone because I was— I was confused and scared and hurt. But you—.. You never gave up. You deserve all the love, my world. I love you so much more.”
A yawn escapes the elder’s lips and Jungkook kisses him once, and twice and then one last time before he feels Taehyung’s weight inclining on his own, a clear indication that his love has fallen asleep already. He chuckles, adjusting himself in a comfortable position and Taehyung snuggles closer to him.
The pet door of the room then pushes upwards, their twobabies now entering the place whining softly, Yeontan and Bahm stand near the door looking at the two hunched up figures on the bed.
Jungkook chuckles and lightly gestures at them with a whistle and flick of his hand to crawl up on the bed which they both comply with in an instant. Yeontan, the smaller ball of fur settles himself near their legs while the bigger canine, Bahm, lies next to Taehyung, his paws over the elder male's back.
A warm, content smile makes its way on his face when Jungkook watches and pictures all four of them cuddled up on the bed. A perfect family he could envision for the future. Just him, Taehyung, Tan and Bahm— maybe they'll adopt more pups, maybe they'll adopt human kids, who knows? But for now, he's happy. He loves and he's loved. He's content .
His precious moon’s warm breath hits his bare skin, lips almost touching Jungkook’s chest and hands curled around his waist, Jungkook pecks Taehyung’s head, his own eyelids now getting heavy with sleep. Those eyes unconsciously dart across the room, they stay hooked at the closet door that’s open, the suits that are hanging in the wardrobe, the gun that is placed under the drawer.
Jungkook realizes when his gaze sets upon Taehyung’s sleeping figure. He’s a CEO, he’s an assassin— he’s both of them simultaneously. But with Taehyung, he’s Jungkook. Just Jungkook.
Taehyung’s Jungkook. And that is all he ever wants to be.
