They do not take proper care of the cage in this. I know they don’t. It’s fantasy.

As I was finishing copying this over from my notebook, Almost Paradise came on the radio. Make of that what you will.

Chapter 1: The Beginning

Chapter Text

[ The Beginning ]

Lan Wangji did not allow his partners to come. It was a game he played, trying to get whoever he was fucking as close as possible to orgasm and then leave him dripping and unsatisfied, whining and begging. Why should they be allowed pleasure? They were for his enjoyment only.

Of course, that meant once he’d exhausted a hunting ground, he had to move onto another. It didn’t matter. There were a lot of gay bars in the city.

Not every Friday night, but when he was hungry, he went searching and tracked down his favorite sort of prey, desperate. Young enough to lack experience, yet feel invulnerable. He didn’t like the ones that expected disappointment, he liked the ones who feared it. Those that had just enough self-esteem to go out looking for a good time, but not enough experience to disbelieve entirely when Lan Zhan blamed them for their lack of pleasure.

He’d just about exhausted his current hunting ground when he met Wei Ying, beautiful, brash, brimming with idealism and hope, but still a bit unsure of himself. Wei Ying’s smile lit up the dingy basement bar they were in.

He was easy enough to buy a drink for.

“Ha, ha! Gege is so kind,” he said, taking the glass from Lan Zhan’s hand like it wasn’t dangerous. “Whiskey. Nice.”

“Are you here alone? Taking drinks from strangers?”

“I know, I know.” Wei Ying leaned forward conspiratorially. “I know. My shijie would kill me if she knew, but she’s married and whatever now and whatever.”

“Your family doesn’t know you’re gay?”

Wei Ying nodded and then glanced over his shoulder as though to be sure no one was there to overhear him. “Bi, I think and I don’t know. Whatever.”

“Gender also?”

“I’m not sure about anything, except this whiskey tastes like another … if gege is buying.”

Lan Zhan cut Wei Ying off at four whiskeys and then offered to walk him home. He gave Wei Ying his first kiss from a man on the stoop of his building before ushering him inside.

“I’m usually at the bar on Fridays,” Lan Zhan said. He wasn’t, but he would be from now on. Wei Ying was too pretty and fresh to pass up.

Lan Zhan didn’t usually drag out a hunt, but he was attracted to Wei Ying’s everything. Wei Ying had a bright laugh and ready smile Lan Zhan wanted to possess entirely for himself, to make Wei Ying smile and cry at his discretion. Wei Ying was brilliant, but he didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life yet. Lan Zhan was determined to trap that young zeel, put it in a cage and keep it for himself.

The older gays tried to warn Wei Ying away from Lan Zhan, but he blew them off.

“Lan Zhan? No, you must be wrong. He’s so nice to me.”

For the first time, Lan Zhan thought he must be in love. That must be what this dark, terrible need in his breast was.

He asked his brother to be sure.

“Ah, Brother, you know that we Lans only love once and we love fiercely.” His eyes turned to his own boyfriend, who he kept tied up as a pretty maid, currently chained by a post to the middle of the room. There was just enough slack for his slave to clean the corners if he strained against the chains. Meng Yao would do anything Lan Huan asked of him. “It takes time to trap the right one. You must make him love you, depend on you. You must be his obsession.”

“I want to bring Wei Ying home.”

“Lure him slowly. Patience, Brother.”

Lan Zhan brought Wei Ying to orgasm for the first time in the sleazy bar bathroom, Wei Ying rutting frantically against his leg while they made out. The way Wei Ying threw his head back and gasped, the sinuous curve of his neck on display, brought Lan Zhan a satisfaction he hadn’t anticipated.

When Lan Zhan went home that night, he took himself in hand and pictured the look of horror and betrayal he imagined on Wei Ying’s face the first time Lan Zhan ruined his orgasm.

Soon, he promised himself.

Lan Zhan was an author of some renown who wrote a series of well researched historical novels, generally with the theme of the bonds men formed in the midst of battle. He’d often be away for book tours for weeks at a time.

The first tour after he met Wei Ying, he invited his young paramour along, not wanting Wei Ying to be out of his sight for even a second.

“I wish I could, Lan Zhan, but I have classes,” Wei Ying said.

“Wei Ying should switch to online classes and join me.”

Wei Ying blushed, looking up at Lan Zhan from beneath his impossibly long lashes. “Yeah, maybe next semester?”

Lan Zhan rewarded him with a long kiss.

While he was away, he assured Wei Ying’s affections by sending him gifts of flowers and food. He demanded that Wei Ying text him three or four times a day with updates. What was he doing? Who was he spending his time with? Was he pleasuring himself?

Lan Zhan took joy in every one of Wei Ying’s orgasms knowing they were coming closer and closer to the last.

When he got back, he took Wei Ying out to a nice restaurant Wei Ying could never hope to afford on his college budget. “It’s so good here,” Wei Ying enthused, stuffing his face with spicy food. “Gege is so good to me!”

“Wei Ying deserves all the nice things.”

“Wen Qing says you’re creepy, but I think she’s just jealous.”

“Who?”

“That med school student I know.”

Oh, right, Wei Ying’s friends. Something would need to be done about them. Their contact would be more limited the next semester when Wei Ying’s classes were online and he lived with Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan hadn’t asked Wei Ying to move in yet, but his eager little bunny would say ‘yes’. Lan Zhan had no doubt about that.

Lan Zhan took Wei Ying’s virginity in a hotel room over Spring Break.

He was on tour for his latest book and he’d invited Wei Ying to join him. He made sure Wei Ying came multiple times and left him wrung out and wrecked.

“Wei Ying is so pretty when he comes,” Lan Zhan told him, even as he pictured Wei Ying sobbing in need when Lan Zhan denied him in the future.

“It’s good that he’s estranged from his family,” Lan Huan said when they next met for tea. “Makes disconnecting them from their lives easier. Meng Yao had no family connections and few friends. No one to miss him at all. Of course I give him all the love he needs.”

“Of course.”

“I’m glad you finally found someone. I was growing worried.”

Lan Zhan took a long sip of his tea. “Wei Ying will make a beautiful Lan bride.”

The first time Lan Zhan ruined one of Wei Ying’s orgasms was just as delicious as he fantasized. He pulled back at just the right moment, pulled his hand away exactly when wei Ying was about to come. Wei Ying’s cock spasmed reflexively, semen dribbling out over his thighs.

Lan Zhan himself came hard inside Wei Ying, filling him to the brim.

“Uh, Lan Zhan?” Wei Ying asked as they were cooling down, Lan Zhan’s breath long and even against his neck.

“Wei Ying?” Lan Zhan spread kisses down the back of Wei Ying’s supple neck. A perfect neck for a posture collar.

Wei Ying squirmed and turned over. “Perhaps another round?”

“It is after 9.” Lan Zhan tenderly cleaned Wei Ying up and then tucked the both of them under the covers, listening with delight as Wei Ying squirmed, trying to get comfortable.

Lan Zhan asked Wei Ying to move in later that week.

He told Wei Ying that his friends didn’t need to help him move, that he and Wei Ying would be enough. Wei Ying tried to insist.

“My friend, Wen Ning, is so strong, it’s amazing.”

Lan Zhan gave him a tender kiss on the forehead. “The space is just for us, for now.”

“Alright, I guess.”

Lan Zhan kissed him more deeply, which Wei Ying eagerly accepted, like a neglected puppy lapping up affection.

Lan Zhan was surprised by how much he enjoyed kissing. He hadn’t done it much before — not a big thing in hook-up culture and people's mouths were disgusting, full of bad breath and leftover bile, but Wei Ying … his lips were so plump and red. They needed kissing.

He was careful to dole out a great deal of affection as he ramped up the percentage of Wei Ying’s ruined orgasms slowly. Because of his insecurities, Wei Ying never brought up being unfulfilled. After all, Lan Zhan was older and wiser. Of course Wei Ying thought it was something he was doing wrong.

Wei Ying balked for the first time when Lan Zhan brought up taking his classes online. “Gege,” he said, “I’ve got to get out once in a while. If I don’t, I’ll shrivel up and die from lack of attention.” He laughed and threw himself across Lan Zhan’s lap dramatically.

“Wei Ying has me.”

“And you do let me babble on for hours, I suppose,” Wei Ying teased. Lan Zhan let that happen for now. “Tell you what, if I can have a pet, I’ll take my classes online. Deal?”

Lan Zhan looked dubious. “You’ll care for it?”

“Completely and totally.” Wei Ying saluted.

“Wei Ying may have a pet then.”

Wei Ying was so excited that he rushed out the next day. Lan Zhan expected him to return with a shelter cat. He knew Wei Ying was deathly afraid of dogs. He’d considered experimenting with that, but ultimately dismissed it as too tiresome.

He was pleasantly surprised when Wei Ying returned with a carrier, two floppy eared bunnies inside.

“I know we said one pet,” Wei Ying looked so nervous, rubbing one foot along the back of the other, “but the lady at the shelter said they’re social and I just couldn’t separate them. They’re two boys, so no little bunnies, promise.”

Lifting one, Lan Zhan stared into his sweet little eyes. “Bunnies are fine.”

Wei Ying was so pleased. He named them Jazz and Prowl. He’d bought food, nesting materials, and snatched a good sized box for them. That night Lan Zhan went online and ordered a roomy hutch for them. Then he indulged himself and ruined two of Wei Ying’s orgasms. Wei Ying fell asleep tearful and frustrated.

“This is good,” his brother said when they met the next day. “He’s less likely to leave if there’s animals involved. You know how attached Meng Yao is to the cats.”

“Mnh.”

“Avoid threatening the animals to get your way,” Lan Huan advised. “He’ll get his back up about it if you do. The animal becomes something to protect, which is infinitely more powerful.”

“I like them.”

Lan Huan looked mildly surprised.

“Their fur is soft and they make Wei Ying smile. When he’s smiling it’s almost as pretty as when he cries.”

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying both doted on the bunnies. He made Wei Ying’s favorite foods and cuddled him all afternoon when he really should have been working on his next novel, feeding Wei Ying sweets directly from his fingers.

Almost every orgasm was ruined now. Wei Ying grew frustrated and tried to refuse sex, but when Lan Zhan asked him why, he was too embarrassed to articulate it, so he gave in. Wei Ying started to fear the dissatisfaction, the empty chasm of a ruined orgasm and would beg Lan Zhan to fuck him harder — to finish without him. Lan Zhan obliged him. They did not talk about it.

Lan Zhan took him away for spring break again that year. Wei Ying loved Hawaii and it meant Lan Zhan didn’t need to come up with any excuses for why Wei Ying couldn’t visit with friends.

The steps for making Wei Ying his were almost finished.

Lan Zhan waited until the semester was over. He rewarded Wei Ying’s good grades and diligence with a night of passion, bringing Wei Ying to orgasm after orgasm until Wei Ying begged him to stop. Until Wei Ying passed out from the overstimulation. Then Lan Zhan tenderly cleaned Wei Ying up and fit a steel cage over his cock, closing it with the softest of clicks.
