Notes:

Hello all! Here I come with another lyrics based title lol

I've had this idea in mind for a while now and had a bit of it written, then somehow busted out like, 10k worth of it over the past few days sooo here it is! It was meant to be a one shot but it kind of got out of hand 💀 so I'm thinking 3 chapters as of now. Enjoy, and thanks for reading <3

Some things to note when reading/Disclaimers:
Everyone is in the same grade and same age but normal birthday order and gonna graduate at 17?? and I realized after writing that a family doctor probably doesn't do the same thing as an obgyn but you know what don't think too much lets just roll with it. Also, any names maybe matching other Korean celebs isn't on purpose, just coincidence

(also the title comes from august by taylor swift but I just liked the line, fic doesnt really have anything to do with the song)

Songs to Accompany This Story:
Heart It Races - Dr. Dog
Crosses - Jose Gonzalez
we fell in love in october - girl in red
If We Have Each Other - Alec Benjamin
ivy - Taylor Swift
Sweet Creature - Harry Styles
Ho Hey - The Lumineers
Stand by Me - Skylar Grey

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Jimin is trying really hard to keep it together in this convenience store. It’s currently 9:14 PM on a Tuesday and the clerk is giving him a strange look where he sits perched at the eating counter. He has two backpacks stuffed with what he could think to grab from his room before he left. He can’t remember if he thought to grab his laptop charger. He hopes he did.

“Please pick up, pleas-”

“Hello? Jimin?”

Then the dam breaks.

“Hobi-hyung! I- I need your help- I don’t have anywhere to go. I don’t know what t-to do!”

Tears are streaming down the omega’s face and he can barely register Hoseok asking him to calm down and to repeat himself slowly.

“I- Can you come pick me up? Just for the night, I-”

“Where are you?”

Jimin rattles off the address as Hoseok calls for his mom on the other end of the line. He can hear rustling and he wonders if Hoseok is getting dressed.

“We’re coming, okay? Just hang tight.”

Jimin sniffles and nods, then realizes Hoseok can’t see him nod. “Okay,” he whispers. “Thank you.”

Jimin met Jung Hoseok when they were six years old on the playground. Hoseok had fallen off of the monkey bars at the jungle gym and Jimin was the one to call for a teacher to help. They weren’t in the same class, but they did have the same lunch and recess periods. For the next six weeks Jimin helped the older boy, who now had a cast on for his broken arm, take his lunch tray to his table and spent time with him sitting off to the side of the playground while he wasn’t allowed to play on the jungle gym anymore.

From then on they were best friends, Hoseok being Jimin’s only close friend up until high school. Jimin eventually branched out and made some new friends, but Hoseok was always his number one. He was heartbroken when Hoseok’s dad got a new job and his family had to move two towns over.

Hoseok always joked he’d repay his debt to Jimin one day and Jimin laughs a little at the thought. He’s not sure if Hoseok can repay his debt with an issue this big.

Jimin isn’t sure how long he’s been at the convenience store when he sees the Jung Family SUV pull up from the window. Hoseok is jumping out of the car the moment it stops and Jimin’s heart clenches a bit at the sight of his best friend, black hair bouncing as he runs into the store.

“Jimin-ah!” Hoseok cries when he spots Jimin, earning an evil eye from the clerk. He rushes up, pulling the crying boy into a hug before pulling away with a gasp. “Are you okay?”

Jimin sniffles and nods, leaning back in to nuzzle into Hoseok. Hoseok’s alpha scent is strong, but Jimin can’t tell if it’s from their time apart or because of the emotions Hoseok must be feeling in the situation.

The alpha’s mother, Chinsun, walks in then, spotting the two immediately. “Jimin-ah? What’s going on? Is everything okay?”

That snaps the omega back to reality. He can feel the tears springing into his eyes again as he stutters. “Um, I- I-”

“Okay, okay,” Chinsun shushes him. “You can tell us in the car. Do you want anything from here? A snack or a drink?”

Oh, god. Food. How is Jimin supposed to afford food? Or even water? The thought makes him panic, a sob escaping his lips. Chinsun ushers him out of the store, a firm arm wrapped around his shoulders while she sends Hoseok off to grab some things to eat and drink.

He climbs into the backseat, willing himself to calm down. Hoseok and his mom drove two towns over to come get him after 9PM on a Tuesday, the least he can do is answer their questions as to why. When he sees Hoseok exiting the store with a bag of snacks on his arm he braces himself.

“So,” Chinsun starts softly once Hoseok is settled in the car. Her own omega scent is slowly growing, probably in an attempt to soothe the younger omega. “What happened, Jimin-ah? Why aren’t you at home?”

He sniffles and closes his eyes, willing the answer to come to his lips. “I got kicked out,” he whispers. He can hear Hoseok’s sharp intake of breath.

“Why, honey?” is all Chinsun asks.

“I’m…” His chin wobbles as he looks up and at his saviors. “I’m pregnant.”

⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢

It’s quiet at the dinner table where Jimin is currently sitting with Hoseok and Chinsun, eating a bowl of leftover stew that had been reheated for him.

They hadn’t reacted badly. Shocked, of course, but not bad. Not like his parents had.

“I’m sorry,” he whispers.

“No, no,” Chinsun says, reaching over to grab his hand. “Don’t start with that. These things happen, do you understand?”

Jimin frowns but nods silently.

“Okay. We’ll figure this out. Can you tell us what happened with your parents? How did they find out?”

Jimin sighs. “I… I went to the clinic without telling them. I was going to tell them, I just-” He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. “When I didn’t pay the bill because I don't have any money, they mailed it. My mom opened it and saw what it was for and then…”

“They weren’t happy, I take it?” The elder omega smiles ruefully. Jimin shakes his head.

“And the father?”

Jimin shrugs. “When I told him he… he acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about.”

“Who is it?” Hoseok cuts in. Jimin almost forgot he knows everyone Jimin goes to school with, of course he does. He knows them as well.

The omega looks down, playing with the string of his jacket. “Sang Jeongho.”

Hoseok curses quietly under his breath, shaking his head. Jimin knows that’s a story he’ll ask about later.

“Okay, so, we’ll need to get you enrolled in school, and set you up with a doctor here for check ups,” Chinsun starts rattling off as she stands up, looking for a pad of paper and a pen.

“Wait- I- I can stay?”

Chinsun stops and looks at Jimin with a confused expression. “Of course. Jimin-ah, you are always welcome here. Did you think I’d just let you fend for yourself?”

Jimin frowns. “But I’m… it’s not just me…”

The elder chuckles a little. “Yes, I understand how pregnancy works. Jimin-ah, I am not letting you figure this out on your own. You’re only sixteen- wait, seventeen now, and your family has let you down tremendously. I’m sorry to be blunt but it’s true. You’re staying here, as long as you want or need to, understand?”

Jimin nods, wiping at his eyes. He really doesn’t want to cry again but it doesn’t seem that’s working. Maybe it’s the hormones.

“Come here,” she murmurs, walking around the table to pull him up and into a hug. “Everything is going to be okay, we’ll figure this out.” Jimin nods against her neck, nuzzling into it as he lets some tears fall. Her scent feels familiar and safe, and he realizes how exhausted he is after today. “Go to sleep, we’ll talk more tomorrow. Donggeun is on a business trip, but he’ll be home tomorrow, and we can figure out some more things then.”

Hoseok helps him take his bags upstairs, showing him the extra room that was the alpha’s older brother’s room before he went off to college.

“I don’t think he’d mind much if you decorated however you like,” Hoseok says as he helps Jimin unpack. It makes Jimin feel weird, still expecting for them to decide ‘Nevermind, a surprise second child and a baby is too much, good luck!’ and send him on his way.

“I… I’ll see,” Jimin says.

Hoseok sighs and sits down on the bed. “You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to, but… can I ask how you got pregnant by Sang Jeongho?”

The omega exhales a long breath, cheeks puffing out, and shrugs. “Simple, really. I went to a party, he flirted with me, then we went upstairs.”

Hoseok frowns. “Jimin, Jeongho made your life hell up until like, eighth grade.”

Jimin only shrugs again, playing with the hem of his shorts. “He was nice at the party.”

Hoseok reaches over, pulling the omega into a hug. “I’ve been gone for a year and your wild side comes out, Jimin-ah. I’m offended,” the alpha teases.

Jimin snorts. “Yeah, the one party I went to, and then somehow ended up losing my virginity to my childhood bully, and then got pregnant. It was a freak accident, really.”

“Was it good at least?”

The omega hums. “I don’t know much, but his dick seemed kind of small.”

The two erupt into giggles, laughing until Jimin almost slides off the side of the bed.

Hoseok squeezes him a little tighter. “It’ll be okay, Jiminie. On a positive note, we’ll go to school together again! And you can meet all my friends! They’ll love you.”

Jimin lays back, dragging Hoseok down with him. “Yeah, until I start showing.”

“Don’t say that! They wouldn’t judge you over that,” Hoseok argues.

Jimin doesn’t say anything else, just snuggles into the familiar scent of Hoseok, a little more musky now than he remembers. They fall asleep like that, cuddling like they did when they were pups.

⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢

The next morning the two are awoken by Hoseok’s mother. “Rise and shine, pups!” she exclaims as she rips the blanket off of them. They both whine, trying to pull the blanket back up. “You, Mr. Alpha, have to go to school, and Jimin-ah, we need to meet with the administrators at school and look into getting you switched over. I also was able to get you into our family physician’s office today.”

Hoseok groans and gets out of the bed to go get ready. Jimin sits up and checks his phone for any notifications but the screen is clear. He looks over at Chinsun. “Have… have you heard from my parents?”

Chinsun smiles sadly and shakes her head. “No. Do you want me to reach out?”

Jimin thinks about it. He would like them to know he’s safe at least but it doesn’t seem like they’re worried about him at all. In the end he shakes his head. If they are worried about him they can reach out.

“Okay,” Chinsun says, taking Jimin’s hand and squeezing it. “Get dressed, we’re leaving in about twenty minutes.”

Jimin gets dressed in the few articles of clothing he found that match. A pair of dark wash jeans and a graphic tee with outlines of what looks to be flowers on it. He didn’t bring many options in his haste to grab what he could. He’ll need to ask Chinsun if they can go shopping, or maybe borrow some of Hoseok’s clothes.

He brushes his teeth and hair in the bathroom before finally making his way downstairs. “Ready?” Chinsun chirps. Not really, but he nods.

Hoseok is dressed and ready as well, waiting at the front door with his backpack hanging from his shoulder. “Maybe you can meet my friends today,” he suggests as the three make their way to the car.

“Let’s just see how today goes first, Hobi-yah,” his mother says.

When they pull into the parking lot Jimin tries not to feel nervous at the sight of all the students walking towards the school or hanging around outside with their groups of friends. He feels a hand touch his arm and he looks over at Chinsun, who smiles encouragingly. “It’ll be okay, Jimin-ah,” she says. “Let’s go inside, hmm?”

He nods dumbly and unbuckles his seatbelt, climbing out of the car. The bell rings, Hoseok yelling a goodbye and running to the door with all the other students who decided to hang around outside.

Chinsun and Jimin follow the last students into the building, Jimin letting the mother lead the way. The school looks similar to Jimin’s school- well, old school now, he guesses. He wonders if he should text any of his friends and let them know the situation. The only people who knew he was pregnant before last night were the doctor he went to and Sang Jeongho, he hadn’t yet told his friends.

“Good morning,” Chinsun chirps, walking up to a counter where an elderly woman sits on the other side. “I wanted to ask about a quick enrollment for a student.”

The assistant raises her eyebrows, peering around Chinsun to look at Jimin. Jimin looks away. Chinsun leans closer to the woman, speaking in a hushed voice. The elderly woman nods and disappears behind a wall before coming back. “You can take a seat, the Principal Cho will be with you in a moment.”

Chinsun leads Jimin to a row of chairs, sitting next to him. “I’m familiar with Principal Cho, we’ve been at a lot of the same events for Hoseok-yah. I can tell her the situation if you want, but we don’t have to.”

Jimin frowns. “Um… what do you think… Principal Cho will say?”

Chinsun smiles and shakes her head. “She won’t judge. But it might be best to let her know, you’ll be missing school for appointments and such. She might be able to help you get some leniency on your assignments, let you take them home and stuff.”

Jimin shrugs. “Okay.”

“You want me to tell her?”

Jimin hesitates but then nods slowly.

“Okay,” Chinsun nods. “But you can change your mind if you want. Just pinch me on my hand and I’ll know.”

Jimin smiles and doesn’t resist the urge to lean onto her shoulder. He’s always loved Chinsun like a second mother, sometimes she was easier to talk to than his own mother. He closes his eyes at the thought of his parents.

“Chinsun-ssi, hello!” A woman’s voice makes Jimin open his eyes again and sit up. Chinsun stands up to greet who Jimin assumes is the principal.

“Come in, come in,” the woman waves them into her office. Jimin stands on shaky legs, following Chinsin into the room where the principal closes the door behind him. Chinsun sits in one of the chairs across from the desk and the omega sits in the empty seat next to her.

“How can I help you today?” Principal Cho asks with a smile. She sits in her own chair, lacing her fingers together in front of her. Jimin thinks she might be an omega as well if her scent is anything to go by.

Chinsun gives Jimin a final look and Jimin nods, giving her permission to explain.

“Well, our Jiminie here has come to stay with us. He, um, is unable to go back home and I wanted to ask about having him transferred here. I know it’s last minute but… well, this is kind of our only option.”

“Oh, of course,” Principal Cho says, eyebrows raised. “We can get that done. I’ll just need your previous school’s information and we can contact them about getting everything moved over here. What year are you, Jimin?”

Jimin looks at Chinsun who smiles and nods. He clears his throat, answering in a small voice and giving her the name of his old school as well.

“Okay!” The woman begins typing into her computer. “How did you meet Hoseok and Chinsun-ssi?”

“Um, I met Hoseok hyung in primary school. We’ve-we’ve been friends since then.”

“Oh, really?” Principal Cho glances away from her computer for a moment to nod and look Jimin in the eye before looking back at the screen. “That’s lovely.” She hits a button on the keyboard and the printer begins to whir, pages coming out within seconds. The principal rolls backwards, grabbing the papers from the printer, and then rolls forward towards the desk, hanging them over to Jimin and Chinsun. “This is just some preliminary paperwork for you two to fill out as an enrolling student and their guardian.”

Jimin takes the papers, leaning forward to look at them. A pen is set in line of vision and he tries to smile politely up at the principal but looks down quickly. He’s taken back to his doctor’s visit when he had to fill out the paperwork by himself for the first time. The omega gets it done with a little help from Chinsun and when he’s done she asks him to step out into the hallway so she can speak to Principal Cho alone. Jimin swallows but nods, taking a glance at the eldest omega before standing up.

“Here,” the Principal says. “Take these with you and hand them to Misook, the secretary, and she’ll get them taken care of.” The woman smiles warmly and she picks the paperwork up from the desk and holds them out for Jimin. He takes them slowly, bows once, and leaves.

When he opens the door and steps back into the main office he sees the elderly woman, who he realizes now is the secretary, is no longer at her desk. He’s not alone in the office, though. Another boy (an alpha, Jimin notes) is sitting in one of the waiting chairs, looking bored. He has mint colored hair and Jimin briefly wonders if that’s even allowed. Unnatural hair color wasn’t allowed at his previous school. The omega ducks his head as he goes to sit in another chair, leaving one empty seat between them.

It’s quiet, and a little awkward. Maybe that’s just how Jimin feels but he avoids looking at the other. A frown begins to grow as he thinks about this. He didn’t used to be shy, having gotten over that once he started high school. Not quite in with the popular crowd per se, but not shy. At the same time he’d only ever gone to school with the same group of kids since he was a child, so maybe this is natural and he’d just never been exposed to a situation like this to know.

He’s so deep in thought he doesn’t realize that his grip on the paperwork has loosened and soon it falls, the pages catching on air and fluttering around in front of him and the alpha boy.

They each land on the floor in a scattered, anticlimactic way. Both boys stare at it for a beat before moving.

“I’m sorry-”

“Here, let me get it.”

Jimin sits back, slightly mortified at himself for listening and letting the mint haired alpha pick everything up for him as if he isn’t capable of picking up his own things. He murmurs a quiet thanks when he is handed the papers. The alpha gets back up and into his seat. It’s only quiet for a moment before he asks “Are you new here?”

Jimin glances over in surprise, not expecting the boy to say anything else. “Yes,” he answers. “I’m starting… well, sometime soon.”

The mint haired boy continues to look at him for a few more beats before he nods. “Cool,” is the only thing he says. Jimin looks forward again slowly, unsure if he should say anything. He doesn’t get the chance to think about it much, though, before the secretary is back and giving her apologies for taking so long. Jimin politely says it's okay while handing over the paperwork. Principal Cho and Chinsun are coming out of the office then, laughing amongst each other and bowing. They say their thank yous and goodbyes and then Chinsun taps Jimin’s arm and jerks her head, indicating it’s time to go.

“Late again, Mr. Min?” is all Jimin catches the secretary saying as they walk out of the office.

⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢

“I called our family physician this morning, he has a slot open at 11,” Chinsun says as they click their seat belts locked. “We have some time, is there anything you want to do? Wait, did you even eat breakfast?”

“No.”

Chinsun clicks her tongue and sighs as she begins to drive out of the parking spot. “We never do, but you’ll need to. Maybe we can start working towards family breakfasts.”

Jimin frowns. “Oh, you don’t need to change your routine because of me.”

“No,” Chinsun agrees as she checks left and right before turning the wheel and driving out onto the road. “But it’s something we should be doing anyway.”

Jimin doesn’t argue further, knowing better than to fight his friend’s mother. He only looks out the window and watches the scenery pass by in a blur. Eventually they pull into a parking lot and Jimin can see they’ve pulled into a restaurant. It’s not very busy, considering it’s still pretty early on a weekday. Jimin follows Chinsun inside and they’re seated right away.

“Order whatever you like, Jimin-ah,” the omega says as she looks through her menu. When the waitress arrives and takes their order he does as told, ordering a few more dishes than he usually would have on a regular breakfast outing. Chinsun smiles warmly.

“So, there’s some things I wanted to ask before the doctor’s appointment,” she says after the waitress is out of earshot. Her hands are holding each other, sitting on the table as though she is acting as a therapist. “Do you know how far along you are?”

“Um, the clinic said I was 3 months, so more than 4 months by now.”

Chinsun nods as she takes in the information. “Okay, and have you thought about your options?”

Anxiety spikes in Jimin. He has thought about his options, and made his decision. Would she change her mind based on his decision? Decide it’s not something her family can deal with?

“Jimin?” she pushes. “It’s okay, honey. I won’t judge you.”

Jimin swallows and nods. “I, um, want to keep it,” he says quietly, avoiding eye contact. He closes his eyes, waiting for the blow.

“Okay, and the clinic was your only visit with any sort of professional so far?”

The omega blinks his eyes open. “What?”

“I asked how many times you’ve been to the doctor?” Chinsun answers as plates of food float into his field of vision. The waitress has come back and is sitting the food down in front of them. She bows and leaves and Chinsun raises her eyebrows at Jimin, waiting for an answer.

“Uhhh,” he shakes his head. “Yeah, yeah, just once- I’m sorry, but… you’re… I said I want to keep the baby.”

The mother looks confused as she picks up her chopsticks. “Yes, I know.”

Jimin stares at her silently, waiting for it to click with her. She stares back before something like realization flashes in her eyes. Her mouth pulls into a thin line and she sets her chopsticks down. “Jimin-ah, honey, I want you to listen to me, okay?”

Here it is, Jimin thinks. He nods weakly, heart rate picking up.

“I told you this last night, and I’ll tell you again. You are staying with us. We are not kicking you out. You can stay as long as you need, and we won’t judge you based on whatever decision you decide to make regarding your pregnancy-” She puts her hand up to stop him before he can say anything. “And that includes keeping it. Understand?”

Tears are welling up in Jimin’s eyes. He hides his face in his hands and lets out a quiet sob. To be honest with himself, he finds it difficult to understand. His own family kicked him out, he can’t process another family taking him - and his unborn child - in. It doesn’t make sense.

“Why?” is all he can manage to force out, voice strained and hands still covering his face.

“What do you mean?”

“Why are you- why are you being so nice?”

“Oh, Jiminie-”

“I-I just-” Removing his hands from his face, the omega breathes in harshly. It feels as though the air has diminished, leaving none in his lungs. “I don’t understand? This is too easy. My-my parents s-said there was no way they’d let me live there a-and take care of my baby a-and Jeongho wants nothing to do with it so I was starting to prepare myself to figure it out on my own. B-But you’re letting me- This is too easy- I-”

“Breathe, honey,” arms wrap around him - when did she come over to my side of the table? - and hold him tight, rocking him gently. “Hey, I need you to breathe for me, okay?”

Jimin nods, taking in a shuddering breath.

“That’s it,” Chinsun murmurs. “Just like that, breathe in and breathe out.”

After following the elder omega’s directions and taking deep breaths over and over, Jimin feels exhausted. He pulls away from Chinsun, only to realize he just had a panic attack in the middle of a restaurant. A whine pulls from his throat and he hides his face in Chinsun’s neck. Her fingers come up and comb through his dark hair.

“Jimin-ah, I do not care that you got pregnant, or that you’re seventeen, or still in high school. I care about you, and I care that you need help. Everyone needs help sometimes, and Donggeun and I are in a position to help you, so why wouldn’t we?” She pulls away to cup his cheeks, squishing them but making him look her in the eye. “Do you understand?”

Jimin sniffles and looks down to avoid the eye contact but nods, as well as he can in this position.

“I am so, so sorry that your parents treated you that way. I honestly never would have thought that was something they’d do when I knew them. No child deserves that. But you don’t need to worry about overstaying your welcome or anything like that with us okay? We’ll help you.”

Jimin’s face screws up at her words, tears beginning to fall again, and he tries to pull away but she holds him tighter. “Hosung has moved out so you can have his room, we’ll help you with school and healthcare, okay? There’s no time limit, Jimin-ah.”

Jimin nods. He’s relieved, but still so confused that this is real life. The stress of what he was going to do once he learned for sure he was pregnant has been weighing on him all this time. Did he deserve to have the weight lifted off his shoulders like this?

“Whatever you need, you let us know.”

Clothes immediately come to mind, but Jimin decides to wait. She’s already given him a room, gotten him set up for school and a doctor, and fed him. Clothes can wait for now.

Chinsun urges Jimin to eat and he does, and then she notices it’s almost time for the appointment. The drive to the doctor’s office is a nerve wracking one. Jimin isn’t entirely sure what to expect, having only had one check up at the community clinic. He didn’t even have an ultrasound at that time.

When they arrive the office isn’t very busy and Jimin once again fills out paperwork with his personal information. The two omegas sit close to the front desk, Jimin avoiding eye contact with anyone and Chinsun jesting with the beta at the front desk as if they’re best friends from childhood. His name is called the moment he finishes the paperwork. Chinsun takes the paperwork from him to hand to the secretary while he stands on shaky legs. The older omega places her hand on the small of his back and sends him a reassuring smile as she pushes him towards the door where the nurse who called his name is waiting.

He’s just about to ask her to go back with him as she begins to follow him, so he swallows his words and makes his way to the nurse. She leads them to a room at the very end of a hallway, tells Jimin he doesn’t need to change into the paper gowns but hands him one to hold over his pants. Chinsun sits in a chair in the corner while Jimin climbs onto the bed. The paper under him crinkles and it sounds as loud as gunshots in the quiet room.

The nurse goes around setting up some machines before letting them know that the doctor should be in soon then leaves, shutting the door behind her. Chinsun and Jimin look at each other and she smiles but they don’t say anything as they wait. Jimin can note the tiny amount of calming pheromones she’s letting out into the room. He’s thankful.

Soon a middle aged man comes into the room. He’s looking down at a clipboard, but glances up quickly to smile warmly at the two omegas. Jimin is a bit surprised to note he’s an omega as well.

“Park Jimin?”

Jimin nods.

“Hello, Chinsun-ssi.”

“Hello!” Chinsun chirps.

“Okay, let’s see what we have here.” The doctor drags a stool over and sits next to Jimin, clipboard still in hand. “My name is Dr. Yun. How are you today, Jimin-ssi?”

“I’m-” the young omega clears his throat when it cracks and starts again. “I’m okay.”

“Nervous?”

Jimin looks at the physician for a beat before nodding.

“Most are, but you don’t need to worry.” The doctor leans over and opens a drawer, pulling out an arm band looking thing that Jimin recognizes as a blood pressure monitor. The doctor silently urges him to hold out his arm, so he does so and the doctor wraps the band around it, pulling it tight. “How many appointments have you had so far, Jimin-ssi?” Jimin answers as the machine begins to pump air, wincing when he squeezes his arm. His blood pressure must look okay because the doctor nods and writes something down before taking the arm band off of the omega’s arm.

Dr. Yun continues to ask Jimin questions and instructs him to pull his shirt up as he gets the ultrasound machine set up. Jimin can’t ignore the flutter he feels in his chest. The fetus growing inside of him has been at the forefront of his mind for months now, and yet this is the first time he feels excited.

“This will be cold,” the physician warns but Jimin flinches anyways when a dollop of jelly hits his stomach. “Did you have an ultrasound at your last appointment?”

Jimin shakes his head no.

Dr. Yun hums. “Do you know about how far along you are? Better yet, do you know when you conceived?”

“Um, June 17th,” Jimin answers. He still has the text from his friends, telling him about the party and how they need to ‘go to at least one party during high school.’

“Okay, so that means you’re probably… hmmm… eighteen weeks along?” Dr. Yun pauses and looks up towards the ceiling as he does the mental math before nodding. “Yes, eighteen weeks.”

Dr. Yun places the little wand on Jimin’s belly, spreading the jelly around. “The baby will be about the size of a bell pepper now, or a sweet potato.” The omega looks down at his belly, noticing there is the smallest of bumps. It’d be hard to tell if one just glanced, and impossible to see with clothes on.

The doctor continues moving the device around Jimin’s stomach. Jimin glances over at Chinsun who is staring at the screen with wide eyes, like she’s in awe. Jimin wants to look but is too nervous.

Almost as if the doctor read his mind, he asks, “Ah, here’s where you’re hiding. Do you want to see your baby, Jimin-ssi?”

Jimin hesitates for just a beat before nodding, head bobbing up and down. Dr. Yun chuckles as he pulls the screen forward, tilting it to face the seventeen year old.

Jimin doesn’t get the chance to brace himself for the image and it’s as if time has stopped. It’s the classic black and white blur he’s seen on movies and television but this time he feels something. The physician is pointing out the baby’s round head and the length of its body. Jimin’s eyes take in an arm that leads into a hand clenched into a tiny, tiny fist.

“Do you want to hear the heartbeat?”

Jimin’s eyes snap to the doctor in surprise and he has to blink away tears. “Y-Yeah- yes please.”

Dr. Yun smiles and presses some buttons, and soon enough the sound of a beating heart is heard through the speakers. It sounds a little clunky and strange but tears fall down Jimin’s cheeks anyway.

The omega hardly hears as he’s told that some photos of the ultrasound can be printed for him. The doctor’s voice falls on semi-deaf ears when he talks about the tests he’d like to run, and Jimin barely registers blood being drawn from his arm. He continues to look at the little blob on the screen, vision blurry with tears.

That’s his baby, growing inside him. For the first time Jimin lets himself look forward to what’s to come.

When Chinsun and Jimin pull up to the Jung home, Chinsun reminds Jimin that Hoseok’s brothers room is now his and he can start making plans on rearranging and redecorating. Jimin nods, but the day has exhausted him. When he gets upstairs and into Hosung’s room - his room - he sets the ultrasound photo he’d been clutching onto the side table and falls into the bed, immediately falling asleep.

Jimin wakes up from his nap a few hours later. He didn’t realize how exhausted he had been but he has had a long day. It hasn't even been 24 hours since he’d packed his bags as fast as he could and ran to the nearest convenience store, calling Hoseok in a panic. The omega rubs his eyes, feeling hungry, and makes his way downstairs.

Jimin stops at the foot of the stairs when he hears a man’s voice speaking in a hushed but calming tone. When Chinsun’s equally quiet, but heated, voice responds Jimin realizes Hoseok’s dad must have come home from his trip.

Knowing better, but curiosity getting the best of him, the omega stays where he stands on the stairs, hiding behind the wall that blocks the view of the stairway from the living room.

“I cannot believe them, Donggeun-ah. How can someone just kick their own child out like that? What did they expect would happen to him?”

“I don’t know, yeobo. I’m just as shocked as you are.”

“Anything could have happened to him! And in October?! It’s going to be freezing soon. If I had known they were like that I never would have made friends with them beyond our children. I have half a mind of calling them up and cussing them out.”

“Why don’t you?”

A sigh. “Jiminie doesn’t want me to contact them. They haven’t even reached out to me to see if maybe I know where he is. God, that poor baby. I just can’t believe they’d do this to that sweet boy.”

Jimin swallows and sneaks back upstairs, not hearing the rest of the conversation. His mind is a bit of a mess - hurt that his parents kicked him out and don’t seem to care if he’s even alive but flustered at Chinsun’s anger for him.

He thinks of the week prior. His family had just celebrated his birthday and bought him his favorite cake and gifts he’d hinted at. He didn’t bring any of the gifts with him, no room or reason for them in his bags.

The sound of the front door shutting sounds up the stairs, Hoseok’s voice yelling hello before footsteps are thumping up the stairs at a fast pace. The door to the room bursts open. “Jiminie!” Hoseok shouts before diving onto the bed, landing on top of the omega’s legs.

“Ow! Hobi-hyung!” Jimin sits up and tries shoving the alpha off of him but he’s too heavy. Jimin gives up, grunting as he lays back down.

“How did things go today? Did you get enrolled at school? Wait - how did the doctor’s appointment go?”

Jimin reaches over and plucks the ultrasound from the table and hands it over silently. A smile grows on his face when his friend gasps dramatically. Hoseok sits up, much to Jimin’s relief, and stares at the photo for a long moment before finally saying, “Oh my god, it’s a baby!”

Jimin gives him a blank stare and snatches the ultrasound back. “Yes, I was very relieved I wasn’t growing an ostrich inside of me.”

Hoseok laughs as he crawls over Jimin to lay beside him. “Sorry, sorry. Just… wow. You’re actually having a baby.”

Jimin takes a deep breath and nods. “Yup. I think it actually kind of hit me today, seeing it and hearing it’s heartbeat and all.”

“Did you find out if it’s a boy or a girl?”

The omega shakes his head. “No. I was a little overwhelmed with the information. I’m going to wait to find out sometime later.”

Hoseok hums as someone knocks on the already open door. Both teens look over to see Chinsun smiling at them. “I ordered dinner, didn’t feel like cooking today. It’ll be here in a bit. Jimin-ah, Principal Cho called and you’re all good to go starting Monday. Tomorrow we can go shopping for new school supplies, okay?”

Nerves hit Jimin immediately but he nods and says thank you. Hoseok cheers as his mother leaves the room, wrapping his long limbs around Jimin and jostling him. “We’re going to school together again! I wonder if we’ll be in the same room- oh shit, I shouldn’t shake you right? Will the baby get all like, scrambled?”

Jimin tries to listen as Hoseok continues on about the school and his friends and what extracurriculars Jimin can try. All Jimin can think about is school means people, strangers who don’t know him. Strangers who will only think of him as “the new kid” and eventually “the pregnant kid.”

Jimin always loved school but now he dreads it.

⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢

Monday came far too quickly. Jimin had spent the week rearranging his new room. He moved the bed closer to the window rather than in the middle of the room and switched the bedding set with one he found in a hall closet. Donggeun had found some boxes and Hoseok and his father helped clean out the last of the older son’s things that he had left behind. Once that was done, Jimin put his menial amount of clothes into the closet and organized the desk with his own things.

The room was bare and a dark blue color Jimin didn’t like very much but he didn’t complain. He was grateful to have his own room when just earlier that week he had no idea if he’d be able to find anywhere to go.

Chinsun had taken him shopping for school supplies as promised and now Jimin stood in the room with his new backpack, filled with notebooks, pens and pencils inside a cute little pencil case. He’s borrowing some of Hoseok’s uniforms until they get him his own.

The omega stays in his room as long as possible before Hoseok barges him and pulls him into the hallway and down the stairs. Hoseok told him over the weekend that he usually walks to school, Chinsun driving them the other day was a special event. Jimin doesn’t say that he’ll probably eventually need rides to school once his belly is too big for him to walk the distance to school comfortably.

The road is lined with trees displaying orange and yellow foliage, leaves falling around them. Hoseok chatters on about his friends, how he hopes they’re in the same class but they can always have lunch together as their grade all eats together. The schoolyard is busy with other students when they finally arrive at school. It’s loud, teens screaming and laughing and running around. Hoseok ignores it though, walking past the crowd and into the building. There’s kids hanging out inside too, lingering in the hallways. Jimin follows the alpha to the front office.

“Good morning!” the alpha chirps.

The secretary looks up and smiles warmly at the two. “Good morning,” she says. “Here for your schedule?” Jimin nods silently as the woman types some things into the keyboard and clicks around with the mouse. Soon the whirring noise of a printer starts up. Misook reaches behind her and grabs it, handing it off to the omega. “I’m sure Hoseok can show you where that is, but if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask us, okay?”

Jimin nods again, saying thank you quietly as he follows his friend back out into the hallway. Hoseok takes the paper from him. “Aw man,” he says. “We’re not in the same class, but you’re right next door! Come on.” Jimin follows him dutifully. Kids look at him as they pass by. Jimin avoids eye contact, clutching the straps of his bag and staring at Hoseok’s shoes in front of him. He wonders if ‘PREGNANT’ is written on his forehead. Not yet, he thinks. For now it probably just says ‘NEW KID.’

Jimin bumps into Hoseok when he stops suddenly in front of a room. “Here it is!” Jimin peeks into the open door. There’s a few kids sitting around already, laughing and playing music. Two are doing choreo in their seats to a girl group song Jimin recognizes while their friends laugh at them. “Oh, Mrs. Baek is already in here, let’s go in.” Before Jimin can protest Hoseok is walking into the classroom as if it’s his own. The students inside stop and say hello animatedly. Jimin isn’t surprised, Hoseok was always the social butterfly.

“Good morning, Mrs. Baek!”

The teacher looks up from her phone, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. Jimin notes she’s a beta. "Hello boys.” She looks at Jimin with kind eyes. “Are you giving the welcome wagon, Hoseok-ssi?”

Hoseok smiles his big sunshine smile and nods. “Yes, just showing Jiminie around.”

Jimin bows. “Hello. My name is Park Jimin.”

Mrs. Baek’s smile grows. “Good morning. Here, let’s see…” She trails off and opens a drawer on her right, pulling out a piece of paper. Jimin can see little squares on it and figures it must be a seating chart. “Okay, there’s a seat open in the back row. Do you need to sit closer to see?”

Jimin shakes his head. “No, that will be okay.”

“Good. It’s the seat next to the one by the window, okay?” She smiles and Jimin nods. Hoseok takes his wrist and leads him to the back to his seat. The bell rings the moment they get there and Hoseok curses.

“Meet me in the hallway for lunch, okay? I’ll show you where we all sit.” Jimin nods and then Hoseok’s hugging him. “It’ll be okay, Jiminie. Don’t be nervous.” Calming pheromones hit the omega’s nose and he whines quietly, a little embarrassed. Then Hoseok is pulling away and leaving while students pile into the room. Jimin sits in his seat and avoids looking at anyone while he gets his supplies out.

Mrs. Baek starts class without a hitch. “Class, we have a new student today. Jimin-ssi, can you please come up to the front of the classroom?”

Jimin wants to say no but he listens, silently standing and making his way to the front. If the hallways felt awkward, an entire classroom of strangers staring at him as he stands in front of them makes him want to melt into the floor and disappear. “Hello,” he says. “My name is Park Jimin. I, um, just moved here. Please treat me well.” He bows to the class and as he is straightening the door opens with a loud bang as the doorknob hits the wall.

“Oh, shit, my bad.”

Jimin’s eyes widen at the familiar, deep voice and shock of mint colored hair.

The students giggle at the interruption but Mrs. Baek heaves a sigh. “Min Yoongi, you’re late. Again.”

“Sorry, Mrs. B.” Min Yoongi’s steps falter for a moment when he shuts the classroom door and looks up. His eyes widen in recognition then slide over to Jimin’s seat before settling back on Jimin himself.

Mrs. Baek sighs again. “You can go sit down, Jimin-ssi. And that includes you, too, Mr. Min.”

Jimin nods, bowing once more to the class before making his way to the back. Yoongi walks along the back of the classroom at the same pace and they both meet at Jimin’s desk. “I sit here, too,” is all the mint haired boy says before he takes his own seat, the one by the window. Jimin sits in his assigned chair slowly.

The teacher begins the lesson, thankfully about a book Jimin has already read at his last school. He takes notes anyways, not wanting to get cocky and fall behind. His eyes peek over at his seat mate’s desk every now and then, noting that the alpha doesn’t have anything out on top of it. When Jimin sneaks a more direct look he sees that the alpha is staring out of the window.

“Um,” comes out of Jimin’s mouth before he can stop himself. He falters though when Yoongi’s head swivels and meets his eyes. “Do… do you need some paper?”

Yoongi snorts and shakes his head. “Nah, thanks, though.”

Jimin nods slowly and averts his gaze back to the front of the classroom. Okay, then… he thinks. Maybe Yoongi has read this book, too, and doesn’t feel the need to take notes.

The rest of the morning goes by like that. Jimin dutifully pays attention, silently praising God or the Universe, or whoever, that he is able to keep up with the lessons so far. He meets three more teachers, each coming to introduce themselves at his seat during the passing period.

Jimin’s theory about Yoongi already knowing the material is questioned, though, when he notices Yoongi doesn’t take notes during any of the courses - except for math. Jimin wonders if maybe the alpha is really smart, but bad at math. Having trouble with math would mark something they have in common.

When the bell rings for lunch students rush out as if the classroom is on fire. Jimin takes his time gathering his things and putting them away.

“Hey.”

Jimin looks up, eyebrows raised at his desk mate. Yoongi hadn’t spoken to him all morning and the omega was a little surprised, having already resigned to the fate that they wouldn’t talk at all and it would be a quiet school year. The alpha is still in his seat but sideways now, facing Jimin. His knees bump into Jimin’s thigh.

“Yes?”

“Did they uh, show you which cubby is yours?”

Jimin looks behind him to the cubbies against the back wall. “Oh. No. I didn’t think about it.”

Yoongi simply points to one at the end, bottom corner, right behind the alpha’s chair. “It’s that one. Mine is on top of it.” His hand moves up, finger pointing to his own. “You’ll have to bring your own lock, though. But uh, if you want you can put your stuff in mine today.” Yoongi shrugs as if Jimin has said no and he’s responding ‘just an offer.’

Jimin nods slowly. “Okay,” he answers. “Thank you. Um,” he lifts up his bag from his lap. “Can I put my bag in there?”

“Yeah, yeah,” Yoongi is already out of his seat and twisting the combination on the round lock. “Here,” he reaches out his hand and Jimin hands over the backpack. Yoongi stuffs it into his cubby and shuts the door, locking it, then silently looks back at Jimin.

When the alpha doesn’t say anything Jimin tells him thank you.

Yoongi shrugs again, looking away. “No big deal. Do you, uh, have any plans for-”

“Jiminie!”

Both boys’ heads snap to the door, where Hoseok stands with his eyebrows raised. The alpha’s eyes flick to Jimin, then to Yoongi, then back to Jimin and his eyebrows raise higher. “Let’s go, I’ve been waiting out in the hall.”

“Oh!” Jimin exclaims and stands up quickly. “Sorry, hyung. Yoongi-ssi was helping me with the cubbies.”

Hoseok’s eyes flick to Yoongi once again before finally settling on Jimin. He smiles and waves the omega over. “Well, come on, we’re going to be late.”

Jimin nods and begins to walk to the door before stopping and turning back to the mint haired alpha. “Oh, uh, thank you again.”

Yoongi nods, not saying anything else. Jimin turns back to Hoseok and follows him out the door and down the hallway.

“I told everyone about you last week, they’re so excited to meet you!” Hoseok says, a skip to his step. When Jimin looks over, horrified, the alpha rectifies, “Oh, well, not about you you know, not the uh- you know. Just that we’ve been best friends forever. They already knew that but now that you’re actually here it’s a little different. But don’t worry, I just said you just moved here. Which isn’t untrue.”

Jimin nods, heart rate slowing back down. He has no idea how he’ll tell anyone else about his condition. He feels strange about making friends then a month or so later going, “Oh, by the way! I’m pregnant! You didn’t know?”

Jimin thinks about if he were in this same situation but older. He doesn’t even need to be mated in this future scenario, single parenting is common, but the shame probably wouldn’t be there if he had gotten pregnant at twenty-six and not sixteen. A hand stops him and his thoughts and Jimin looks up at Hoseok with a confused look.

“Are you okay?” Hoseok asks. “Before we go in there?”

“Oh,” Jimin says. He thinks for a moment before nodding. “Yeah, let’s just get this over with.”

Hoseok chuckles, pulling his hand away and leading him into the busy cafeteria, settling in the now short line. “It’ll be okay. The group is great. I wouldn’t introduce you to them if they were mean or something. Well, I wouldn’t even be friends with them if they were.”

The pair get their food and Jimin follows Hoseok through the cafeteria, dodging other students and teachers before finally reaching a table by a window towards the back. “Hey guys!” Hoseok says as he sits, ushering Jimin to sit next to him. Jimin does, metal tray hitting the table with a clang that makes him wince. “This is Jimin! Jimin, this is everyone!”

A chorus of hi’s and hello’s sound around the omega and he feels a little overwhelmed. He tries to smile, giving a short bow and saying his own hello.

“I’m Taehyung!” a beta with long, chestnut colored hair says. He has a boxy smile that makes Jimin feel warm despite the chaos going on in his head. Jimin smiles back, small but a little more genuine than the last one.

“I’m Namjoon,” the alpha nexts to Taehyung says, giving a small wave. The alpha’s hair is short, really short, almost a buzzcut. He smiles before looking down at his phone.

“Seokjin, but you can call me Jin,” comes from beside him. Another beta like Taehyung, with dark hair and incredibly handsome. “And that’s Jungkook, the one who cares more about his food.”

Jimin looks over to the boy next to Taehyung, who is indeed stuffing his face with rice as though it’s his last meal for an indefinite amount of time. Namjoon looks up again and reaches around Taehyung to smack the boy on the back of the head. “Jungkook-ah, don’t be rude.”

Jungkook swallows, rather harshly, and Jimin wonders if that hurt, but the boy looks up. His eyes are big, open wide and he waves. “I’m Jungkook.”

Seokjin aka Jin rolls his eyes. “That’s already been established but okay. He’s an omega as well.”

Jimin’s eyes widen. Jimin isn’t usually one for subgender roles, but he would have bet money that Jungkook was an alpha. The boy is all muscles and sharp edges. “Hello,” Jimin replied as Jungkook goes back to his food.

Hoseok elbows him softly. “Eat, Jimin-ah. Eomma said she’s making jajangmyeon for dinner but she kind of sucks at it so get your fill while you can.”

Jimin smiles at that but listens to his hyung and digs in. The food tastes better here than it did at his old school, and his old school’s food wasn’t even bad. Jimin briefly wonders if maybe it’s the hormones or something pregnancy related, but he really has no clue.

It’s when he gets to the kimchi that he comes to a full stop. It had smelled…off when he sat down, but he tried ignoring it. He loves kimchi. Maybe something went wrong when it was made or something. But now that he’s gotten a piece between his chopsticks and brought it up to his mouth the smell is horrendous. The omega tries his best to not make a face and shoves the cabbage into his mouth. He chews one bite before promptly gagging on it, grabbing the closest napkins (Jin’s) and spitting the bite into it.

Jimin closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, trying to calm himself down and hold back the nausea he feels rising. When he opens his eyes again, he’s met with five pairs of round eyes staring back at him.

“Are you okay?” Taehyung asks.

Jimin clears his throat. “Yeah, sorry, uh. It went down the wrong pipe.” He knows they know that is definitely not what happened but they graciously don’t defy him. Hoseok pats him on the back then rubs it soothingly. The smell of kimchi is the only thing Jimin can smell now and he can barely contain a grossed out look. This, this is definitely pregnancy related.

After chugging down his milk, and the scent of Hoseok’s pheromones wafting by, Jimin eats the rest of his food without issue. He just avoids looking at anyone else’s kimchi while it’s still on their trays.

“So how are you liking it here?” Taehyung asks once everyone is mostly done eating.

Namjoon chuckles, “It’s been like, half a day, Tae-ah. Give him a chance to settle in.”

Jimin smiles at Namjoon but answers Taehyung anyways. “I like it so far. My morning teachers are all nice."

“Ha!” Hoseok shouts suddenly. “Guess who he sits next to?” The alpha leans in conspiratorially like he has a secret.

"Who?” Jungkook asks, the rest of the group leaning in. Jimin thinks they look kind of silly but goes along with them.

“Min Yoongi!”

The other four gasp. “The elusive Min Yoongi?!” Jin whispers dramatically.

“Yup! I saw it with my own eyes!”

“Is that… a bad thing?” Jimin asks. Yoongi had seemed nice. Quiet, but nice.

“He doesn't talk to anyone,” Namjoon says. "Skips a lot, too. Always getting in trouble.”

“Yeah,” Jin agrees. “I have no clue how he plans on graduating. I think he already got held back a year once.”

“Oh,” Jimin frowns. “He’s pretty quiet, but he was nice.”

Taehyung wiggles his eyebrows, a sly look gracing his face. “Oooohhh, do I smell love in the air?”

“Oh, my god, Taehyung,” Jin rolls his eyes. “Because that went over so well last time.”

Taehyung pouts, and to Jimin’s curiosity, so does Jungkook. “I really thought he was sending heart eyes!”

“He was thirty four!” Jungkook blurts out. Jin and Hoseok bust out laughing while Namjoon shakes his head, a fond smile on his face.

“Well, I didn’t know! He looked young!”

“He was young, just not as young as us! Luckily he wasn’t a creep!”

“So…” Jimin interrupts, unable to hold in his own smile at the banter. “What happened?”

“Taehyungie here,” Hoseok starts, pointing at the culprit who has now crossed his arms. “Thought some guy at the arcade was checking Jungkook out and pressured Jungkook into going to talk to him, saying it’d be such a cute place to meet the love of his life. Turns out the man was waiting for us to leave the racing game we were playing and was a fully grown adult man.”

“It was the most embarrassing moment of my entire life!” Jungkook whines.

Jimin giggles as the rest of the group breaks into laughter again at both boys’ embarrassment. Someone continues on with another story and Jimin takes the chance to look around the cafeteria discreetly. He notes that Min Yoongi isn’t anywhere to be seen, not that he was searching for the boy specifically.

⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢

On the way back to the classroom Jimin sees a vending machine. He nudges Hoseok who walks with him towards it. Honey flavored chips have been in the back of his mind for a few days, but now that he sees a row of bags sitting in the vending machine Jimin needs them. Checking his pockets, he has enough cash for three bags and so the omega gets three. Hoseok teases him but Jimin ignores him, happy for the chips.

When he gets back to his seat Yoongi is walking into the classroom. The alpha silently unlocks his cubby and hands Jimin his bag, His eyes follow Jimin’s hands as they unzip the backpack and shove two of the honey chips inside. Jimin taps his phone to wake it up, and seeing there’s still two minutes before class starts he rips open the third bag of chips, unceremoniously shoveling a handful into his mouth.

Yoongi pulls out his own chair and sits. “I guess you like honey chips?”

Jimin stops midchew, eyes widening. He finishes the bite and swallows. “Oh, uh, I’ve just really been craving them lately.” The omega’s cheeks feel warm and he looks away. He’s saved by the bell, and the teacher comes in, starting class immediately.

“Wow,” the man at the front of the room says. “Min Yoongi, to what do I owe the honor of having your presence in my class for once?”

Yoongi doesn’t answer, turning to look out the window but not before Jimin catches the blush dusting the alpha’s cheeks.

⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢

By Friday, Jimin is exhausted. He isn’t too far behind in school, and everyone is really friendly, but the emotional toll the omega has taken since he left home is finally catching up to him.

While he lays in bed he picks up his phone, opening his social media for the first time in almost two weeks.

It hits him then that he hasn’t heard from his friends at all in that time. A bad feeling flushes over him as he types in Jihyo’s username. The first thing Jimin notices when he taps on her profile is that it no longer says ‘Follows you’. He frowns, typing in Areum’s name now, and seeing the same thing.

His heart is racing, wondering if maybe they think he ghosted them or something. It doesn’t add up in his own head, they know he wouldn’t do that for no reason, but they still haven’t reached out to see if he’s okay. When he checks Sanghoon’s profile, it’s the same situation.

Jimin begins going through other people’s profiles from his school, other friends and acquaintances and only a handful still follow him. With a shaky thumb, the omega opens his messaging app and taps on their group message, typing out an explanation.

Jiminieee13: Hey guys
Jiminieee13: I’m sorry it’s been so long since I messaged you
Jiminieee13: Long story short, I got kicked out. I’m staying at Hoseok’s for the time being

The omega had written and deleted the last message multiple times, unable to decide on if he should go ahead and tell them he’s pregnant or not, ultimately deciding to wait.

jihoeimeanjihyo: Lol

kimareum: Seriously?

Jiminieee13: What?

jihoeimeanjihyo: We all know, dude lol

Jiminieee13: Know what?

kimareum: Uhhh that you tried convincing Jeongho he's your baby daddy

His stomach drops. Did Jeongho…tell everyone? Why would he do that? He wanted nothing to do with the baby. But Areum used the word “convincing”...

Jiminieee13: Well, thats what I came to explain about why I disappeared. Remember the party we went to in June?

leesanghoon2407 lmao oh noooo

Jiminieee13: I thought you all knew we hooked up??

jihoeimeanjihyo: Dont even start! He was mean to you for years, why would he suddenly want to hook up with you?

Jiminieee13: Idk, ask him!!

kimareum: He's already told everyone. You tried convincing him you're pregnant and he's the father

jihoeimeanjihyo: Crazy lol probably why you ran away, your plan didnt work lol

Jiminieee13: I didnt run away, I said I was kicked out. We hooked up at that party in June and I got pregnant, but when I told him he acted like nothing happened and said he wanted nothing to do with me or the baby

kimareum: I’m sorry but I just don’t believe you. It’s taken you this long to even tell us anything, so obviously you’re hiding something

jihoeimeanjihyo: We knew he was mean but damn. This is a weird way to get back at him. You could fuck up his future with this

Jiminieee13: I’m not trying to get back at him!

leesanghoon2407 lol okay

jihoeimeanjihyo: Yeah, I got homework. Bye Jimin, good luck with your “baby” lol

Before Jimin can respond he’s notified of each friend leaving the group chat. He stares at his phone until the screen turns black.

He’s not even sure what to think. Jeongho must have told everyone that Jimin is crazy and pretending to be pregnant before the chance of it getting out that he actually did get Jimin pregnant.

The omega throws his phone across the room and it hits the wall, landing on the floor with a thud. He’s felt mostly okay this past week at school, but now everything is coming out. Every heartbroken, angry, scared emotion that’s passed through him is streaming down his face in the form of salty tears. Jimin pulls the comforter over his head and stuffs his face into the pillow, not wanting anyone to hear and come rushing in.

He’s lost his family and his home. And now he’s lost his friends - the one connection he chose because he trusted them. Not to mention his dignity. Well, that was already kind of lost when he let Sang Jeongho impregnate him.

Jimin snorts at himself and rolls his eyes then lays back, spread out and staring at the ceiling. How did he get to this point?

Jimin had dreamed of going to school for dance, but that doesn’t really look like an option now. It’s difficult to pull off any move when you’ve got a nine pound baby growing inside of you and your belly is as big as a hot air balloon.

The disappointment of that loss is almost as crushing as the rest.

⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢⬡⬢

By the time Monday came around Jimin’s mood had not gotten any better and the Jung family noticed. Jimin only shook his head and told them he was fine when they asked, ignoring the questioning glances and deadpan looks.

Jimin is almost glad to be in class now, away from anyone who knows him even a little bit. The omega is sure he’ll be bombarded with questions again at lunch, but for now he can breathe and marinate in his heartache in peace.

While waiting for class to start he pulls out a bag of honey chips from his backpack. Donggeun had asked if he wanted anything from the grocery store over the weekend and Jimin sheepishly requested a bulk variety box of honey flavored chips that the alpha actually bought.

He smiles politely at Yoongi when the alpha strolls in - on time, Jimin notes - and takes one look at Jimin before snorting. He plops down in his seat unceremoniously.

“What?” Jimin asks, popping another chip into his mouth.

“You’re obsessed with those honey chips,” the mint haired boy answers.

“Oh…they’re good,” the omega shrugs.

Yoongi shakes his head, but the ghost of a smirk is on his lips. “Gonna have to start calling you ‘honeycomb,’” he leans in to whisper as Ms. Baek walks in to start class.

Jimin blushes and looks away, holding back a smile as he places the last chip in his mouth.
