Work Text:
Elskalra vehn had been wandering on her path for days, setting up camp at sundown and hunting at day, moving it further and further forward every few days. as a solitary wanderer she couldn't afford to walk for much longer then a day before making camp. she did not mind though, as it gave her more time alone to write new Ballads.on the occasion she wandered across other travelers she would listen to their stories, collect them. she figures its as close as she should allow herself to get to adventure.
another use for travelers, is the constant stream of rumors and gossip. such as, when she heard a witcher was seen in Blaviken she decided the other direction was a fine way to go. and she must have been right, as that was how she came across a young strapping bard in a small farming tavern not far from blaviken. baby faced and overly confident was her first impression of him, but now, lying in the itchy sheets of the inns supposed 'best bed' (which, by the way, barely fit the two of them). she knows he is a cheeky little shit, a handsome, silver tongued, shite.
he looked almost innocent, asleep under her, his hair messy. his eyelashes are quite long, Elsk thinks to herself, running her fingers over them gently. she supposes that she should get up, get enough food to start her next trip, no use having two bards in one town. she sits up, and scans the bed for her leather hair tie, tugging it from under Jaskiers head. she throws her legs over the edge of the too small cot, and feels the bed shift as she ties her hair up,
"your hair looks like the sunlight" she hears a groggy voice say.
"because it is yellow? how poetic" she smiles, glancing at him briefly over her shoulder,
"i suppose, should i have maybe said a Dandelion?" he rolls over, hiding his face from the sun that has been glaring through the window
"hmm, maybe stick to sunlight" she laughs softly, getting up and hearing him huff out a quiet chuckle behind her.
it didn't take long for her to find all her clothes, they were pooled oh so nicely in a little puddle right next to the bed. it took her only a couple of minutes for to clothe herself in her brown leather pants and vest, and cotton tunic, which had worn to be slightly translucent,
"i should go, no use barding here, taking your coin" she sighed, picking up her rucksack full of the bare necessities.
Jaskier shuffled, lifting his head to look at her,
"you don't have to leave, i'm sure there's another tavern full of judgmental assholes somewhere in the shithole" she could hear the sarcasm in his voice clear as day,
"its a small world, i'm sure ill keep you company again sometime...." she she smiles opening the creaky door, before saying
"until next time Dandelion"
