Author’s Note.
This collection has attempted to collect the letters that were exchanged between these two remarkable women in order to better understand them, not as monarchs, but as people. Most surprisingly the letters reveal a fondness between the two which has often been previously overlooked by major scholarship. However, there is a playfulness to the tone of these correspondences that suggests a close friendship.
A Note on Attribution.
It should be noted that of the surviving letters, it is easier to positively identify any written by Celene Valmont I, because of her habit of signing her name as a distinctive ‘C’ monogram even in quick notes carried by ravens.
Anora Theirin is more difficult as she often did not bother to sign her name, and so much study has gone into identifying her handwriting - this collection has only included letters that the Author believes have a strong probability of being written or dictated by Anora Theirin and therefore the Brecilian Forest Centre Collection has not been included.
