Summary
In all his years in the Fatui, Childe has never had problems following through with his archon’s orders. That is, until The Tsaritsa sends him his final mission--to leave Snezhnaya and marry the Geo Archon, Rex Lapis. He knows deep down that he must obey, yet the very thought of leaving his family makes him dizzy.
Embittered and betrayed, Childe vows to fulfill his mission without compromising himself, Rex Lapis be damned. Too bad he has absolutely no interest in Rex Lapis--he’s much more interested in the powerful Morax he’s heard so much about from the Liyue citizens...And then there’s Zhongli, a peculiar citizen who’s as alluring as he is mysterious. With the days to his wedding winding down, Childe must decide whether he will follow the demands of his country or the demands of his heart. -

oh how i LOVED this story. It was written so beautifully, and the plot was truly captivating. Childe's grievance over leaving behind his country and the only family he's ever known to start a new life in a unknown country. Zhongli's desire to rid of his loneliness and have someone love him for him, and not keep him at a distance due to his title as the God of Liyue. They're both such complex characters in this, each having flaws unique to them i.e. Childe's stubbornness to adapt and failing to see what was right in front of him and Zhongli's deception and selfishness.
I haven't felt so alive reading a story like this in a long time. -
