Work Text:

Riven’s eyes shot open.

His body reacted before his mind was fully awake: He sat up, launched to the side on the bed and rolled on the soft rug, scooting to the far back of the bedroom, near his wardrobe where he had abandoned his twin set of swords the day before.

Blinking to situate himself, while his heart hammered in his chest, he heard it again: The noise of someone forcing the front door.

Riven straightened up. The light switch to his living room was all the way across the room, near the door, something he hated more than he’d ever admit out loud - specialists were not afraid of the dark. It didn’t matter how much trauma he had tied to the creatures that lurked the night, he was not afraid of the dark.

He had a little yellow nightlight in his bathroom, the door left ajar to illuminate his bedroom. Very carefully Riven inched closer to the door and closed it with a soft click, pulling his bedroom into full darkness.

He then grabbed one of the swords and tiptoed to the bedroom door, unlocking it and quietly opening.

A chill ran down his back when he noticed the front door was fully open now, a mouth straight to the dark corridor of his building. Riven’s hand tightened around the handle of his sword, but he kept it low for the moment.

There was another noise, now to the other side of the room, toward the kitchen and he quietly moved closer. In the dark he could see a dark form and while, rationally, he knew it was much too small to be a Burned One, it didn’t stop his mouth from going dry.

Just as he took a step closer, the person turned around and walked forward, meeting straight into his chest.

He let out a startled gasp and kicked their feet from under them, making the person fall on their back on the floor with a groan. Before Riven could take in the female whine, he was already pressing his knee to her throat, sword high in his hand, pointing toward her chest.

“Riv…?” Musa groaned, confused, “what the fuck are you doing…?!”

His grip loosened up, but he didn’t remove his knee from her neck, trying but failing to connect the dots.

“What are you doing here!?”

“You’re hurting me…” she whined and he scrambled back, dropping the sword and hitting the kitchen’s light switch. White light spilled onto the living room, allowing him to take in his girlfriend.

Musa’s hair was a lion’s mane, all black and tangled around her face. She was wearing dark makeup, those graphic eyeliners he adored on her, but by now it was smeared around her eyes, red lipstick faded and blurred at the lines of her mouth.

She was lying on his living room floor, wearing a sheer corset top, dotted with little red stars, ripped high waisted jeans and heels. He took a second too long to understand why she was dressed up.

 “Musa…?”

“Yes, me, idiot” she rubbed her neck and pouted at him, but accepted his open hand. He pulled her up and then planted both his hands on her shoulders when she swayed forward and almost face planted his chest.

“You’re drunk.”

“And you tried to kill me,” Musa pointed out, shaking her head, “not nice.”

“Sorry, pixie” he snorted, pushing her hair away from her face, “I thought you were going to crash at Terra’s place…?”

“Terra didn’t come. Her cousin’s birthday was tonight too”, Musa rolled her eyes, “Stella and Bloom are in jail and- And Aisha left with Boo.”

Riven raised his eyebrows, “hold on, Bloom and Stella are in jail? What for?”

“Bar fight”, Musa shrugged, unbothered by the fact, “I asked if they wanted me to call someone, but they agreed Sky’s scary in the middle of the night and Brandon wouldn’t wake up.”

“Yeah, sleepy Sky can be really nasty”, Riven agreed, biting down a smile, “how come you’re not in jail too? As far as I know you’re as much of a trouble magnet as Red.”

“Lies” Musa scoffed and grabbed a handful of his pajamas’ shirt, “I wanted to come home…”

His heart did a little somersault at Musa referring to his place as home. Or rather, referring to him as home. They had been dancing around the move-in-together subject for the last year, neither of them sure if they were willing to give up all privacy yet.

Musa pulled him closer and he smelt something alcoholic and fruity on her breath, just as she pressed her lips on top of his, “I wanted to come home and fuck my really hot boyfriend…” she whispered seductively, tugging on his shirt. She almost managed to pull it over his head, uncoordinated as her hands were, but Riven stopped her.

He grabbed her wrists and lowered them, pecking her lips again, “you’re piss drunk, pixie. You have no business stripping me down.”

Musa rolled her eyes and they flickered purple, sending a jolt of desire through his body, “please? Pretty please…” she pressed her body to his, “I’ve been wanting you all night…”

Riven breathed through the desire she was pushing on him. Not all of it was manufactured by her powers, he knew. He forced their bodies apart.

“No, Musa. C’mere-” he manhandled her to the couch and sat her down, before rushing to the front door. Riven hit the light switch and locked the door- realizing Musa’s keys were still stuck on the door and that she had scratched around the knob, using more force than necessary.

Then he turned around to look at her.

She had let out a groan when the bright light filled up the room and hid her head in her hands. Her top had slid down her body, boobs pressed by the strained fabric, threatening to spill out.

“Headache?”

Musa glanced up and then shook her head no, looking him up and down, “don’t be mean to me.”

“This is me being nice, love” Riven chuckled, crossing the room and pulling her up, “c’mon, let’s get you out of this clothes.”

Her whole face brightened up and she wrapped an arm around his neck, kissing him strongly, “now we’re talking.”

Riven snorted, let her kiss him and wrapped his arms around her waist, walking forward and guiding them back to the bedroom. Musa was tripping on her heels and once they hit the bedroom door she planted a hand on his chest and pulled them apart, using him as support while she removed the heels and threw them across the room-

One straight at his window. The glass broke, but didn’t shatter and Riven cringed.

“Really, Musa?”

“I’m sorry!” she squealed, fighting a giggle fit, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry- Let me make it up to you-” she fell on her knees in front of him and dropped her hands to his sweat pants and Riven jerked back.

“Musa!” he squealed, baffled at her loss of boundaries. She whined, still on her knees, looking terribly sad.

“Riven!”

“No, stop it- Stop!” he batted her hands off of him, coming closer again and pulling her up on her feet, “Shower or bath?”

“Bath…” she bit down her lip and cozied up to him, planting a collection of kisses up his neck, “you should’ve come tonight.”

“I don’t think Aisha would appreciate me at her bachelorette party, Muse,” he chuckled, pushing her inside the bathroom and sitting her down on the closed toilet. Riven turned on the bathtub warm water.

“I would,” Musa shrugged and pulled him between her open legs, “I was in a strip club for the better part of the night, I’m so… Horny .”

He petted her head, cursing silently that she was so drunk, “it’s reciprocated, love. Trust me”, Riven whispered, then worked on the back of her top, sliding down the zipper.

He dropped to his knees in front of her, peeling the top away from her and quickly averting his gaze once he was face to face with her boobs. He grabbed her hips- “Up, up.”

“No” She forced herself down, “no, I’m not doing anything else unless you pay the price for it first.”

Riven rested his hands on her thighs, “the price?”

She frowned, pensive, and then raised her open hand, “Five.”

“You want me to pay you five bucks to get up?”

“Not money. Hickeys.”

He raised his eyebrows, “Kinky, Musa.”

She was too drunk to be embarrassed, “So?”

He grabbed the belt loops of her trousers and pulled her forward, her legs framing his body. Now flushed against her, he pushed her messy hair away and kissed her cheek, then nibbled at her earlobe and kissed down to her neck.

She had been dancing and her skin was salty from sweat, but he didn’t give much of a crap about it. Musa squeezed her legs around him, hands planted on his shoulders when he sucked and bit lightly on her skin.

He planted a hickey on her pulse point on the neck, another one right over her collarbones, one up her left breast near her shoulder, another on the valley between her boobs- Musa arched back and then let out a whine as she hit her head against the flush. He snorted against her stomach.

“Don’t laugh!”

“You’re such a dork” Riven whispered against her skin, undoing her belt and the jeans buttons. He patted her ass, “up, love.”

She obeyed quietly and he pulled her jeans and underwear with one hard thug, sliding it down her legs. By now the bathroom was cloudy with steam and he was feeling overheated, both by the hot water right next to him and his really hot fairy, now naked in front of him.

“C’mon, Musa-” He got up with a groan, grabbing her by the armpits like a toddler and pulling her toward the bath. She tried to push him off when he maneuvered her around to the water, then slipped and would’ve fallen and hit her head badly wasn’t it for Riven entering the bathtub too so he could keep his hold on her.

She let out a giggle and fell sitting on her ass, splashing water his way, causing him to yelp, “Musa! I’m dressed-”

And soaking wet.

“Your own stupid choice” she shrugged, trying to grab his shirt again. He glared at her.

“Stop.”

He grabbed the sponge and soaked it with body wash, sitting behind her and starting to wash her back. Musa let out a pleased squeal and leaned forward, touching her toes.

“Don’t drown in the tub” he warned her, washing off the foam and putting the sponge to the side. He stretched to grab his shampoo bottle and put a dollop of it in his hand, using the free one to nestle Musa back against him.

She melted under his touch as he washed the grim smell of alcohol and nicotine off her hair.

“Riv?”

“Yes?” He conditioned her hair and tried his best to untangle it with just his fingers.

She let out a groan when he pulled on a knot, “... Can I move in?”

His hands stopped working and he moved on the bathtub to take a good look at her face, “you want to move in with me?”

“No-” she shook her head, trying to get her scrambled thoughts together, “I want you to move in with me. Your apartment is cold.”

A smile tugged on the corner of his lips, “you’ve thought of it a lot, uh?”

Musa nodded, blinked heavily and yawned “So? Are you?”

He grabbed her chin with the hand that wasn’t covered in conditioner and forced her to look at him, “Yeah, I’m moving in. If you mean this in the morning, though.”

“I’m not that drunk” she smiled and he scoffed, leaned in and kissed her.

“We’ll see about it tomorrow,” he teased and Musa smiled in his mouth, pulling him to her.

“I love you.”

“I love you” Riven whispered, pulling back to look at her, “So fucking much.”
