Work Text:

The interviewer switches to a new card and smiles at them. “Alright here’s a good one! Which one of you takes the longest getting ready in the morning?”

They all start to laugh an immediately turn towards Jimin, who’s already hanging his head and walking forward, “Jimin!”

“Yeah it’s definitely Jimin.” Namjoon smiles as they boy falls to the ground, “Say sorry to us.” He laughs and the other people follow suit.

“What makes you take saw long?” The interviewer asks and Yoongi and Hoseok interchange a look.

“I don’t know, but I’m so sorry.” Jimin turns to the rest of the boys, purposely missing Namjoon.

“We never know what he’s doing, actually....” Namjoon shakes his head. Over his shoulder, Jungkook gives Jimin a glance making the boy in question slightly shake his head and turn to Namjoon.

“I don’t know!” He defends, but, he really does. “You don’t know?” Namjoon asks again, a quirk on his lips.

“Yeah...” he trails off, his face slightly warm from Namjoons knowing smile.

Truth is, everyone knows why Jimin is always late. But in retrospect, they can’t ever put it against him.

oOo

Jimin’s noisy alarm begins to blare into his and Hoseok’s shared room. The cheery marimba jingle ascending in volume makes him groan into his pillow. He flips on his side, ready to receive a pillow smack onto his back but the blow never comes which makes him get up in curiosity. The bed next to him is neatly done but the pillows are missing, giving up Hoseok’s whereabouts. Recently, after years of tiptoeing around the whole deal, Yoongi finally slapped Hoseok’s chest rather loudly while they were finishing up a rehearsal and demanded to know when Hoseok planned to date him.

Jimin smiled sleepily at the memory of seeing Yoongi basically hidden under his bucket hat and a stuttering Hoseok saying “Yes, Hyung! Wanna go out now, Hyung?” The older smiling shyly before turning to the others and yelling “what are you all looking at? Get out of here!” Before they all snickered and all but ran out of the dance room.

Jimin’s alarm begin to blare again snapping him out of his memory and quietly fumbling around his covers to finally turn the damn thing off.

He quickly does his bed and throws a quick glance to the door, where sure enough, Hoseok’s luggage is neatly placed in a row ready for their owner to haul them out before leaving. Jimin sighs and turns to pull out some last minute pairs of earrings and other jewelry from a box on his nightstand, quickly slipping it into one of his luggage’s and zipping everything up.

He looks around the room, double checking if he’s missed an item but he can’t really recall anything and he really needs to get moving. So he pops his back and slips his feet into his slightly new chimmy slippers the company happily granted him and starts his day.

He shuffled into the kitchen to see Jin already sipping coffee from a mug, reading a newspaper with a pouty frown.

“You do understand now why we call you ahju-jin, right? You look like a total grandpa.” Jimin snickers as Jin slaps his arm with the paper.

“Yah, kid! Can’t a guy read a newspaper without being bothered? Honestly you punks... no rest, even so early!” He frowns but continues his reading making Jimin roll his eyes before pulling out an assortment of plastic boxes filled with berries.

“Have you seen the-“

“Top shelf, in a ziplock bag.” Jin mutters before Jimin can finish. “We’re out of banana milk though.” He tells the younger.

Jimin pulls out the bag of assorted nuts and looks around the fridge, one box of banana milk pushed to the side, “Hyung, there’s one right here.” He turns and shakes the boxed milk at Jin who snatches it out of his hand and puts it on the table.

“That’s for Jungkookie, I need that for him to get up.”

“But Hyung I need it!” Jimin pouts and reaches for the box but Jin pulls it out of his reach, “Namjoon will just have to settle for coffee today.” He shrugs when Jimin frowns but continues to prepare his yogurt and fruit plate.

He sits in front of Jin and munches on the pieces of fruit slowly, going over a mental check list of the things he thinks he might be forgetting.

“You’re going to be late if you don’t hurry.” Jin hums and Jimin looks up to see the big clock in the kitchen. Sure enough, he’s already behind schedule and he quickly swallows the last of his breakfast and tosses the plate into the kitchen sink, “What, is that magically gonna wash itself?” Jin calls after him but Jimin is already rushing to the bathroom.

He brushes his teeth and face. He dabs on some face moisturizer so it can absorb before he showers and walks to Namjoon’s room.

Sure enough, his lanky boyfriend is still sleeping, his alarm softly sounding somewhere in the room. Honestly, how did he even expect himself to wake up if the alarm was even quieter than his snores?

He looks around to see said phone plugged in and his music equipment with which he travels, still unpacked. Jimin rolls his eyes and sets himself on the task of organizing cables, laptop, portable mic, extra headset, various keyboards and two speakers into their corresponding travel case. He shuffles around to see Namjoon went as far as folding his clothing and setting it next to his luggage this time so Jimin will give him points there.

He begins to organize his clothing into the luggage and wrapping the shoes with plastic bags to avoid dirtying the clothes. Once he’s done with that, he moves on to collect the pile of accessories Namjoon has set out and places them in a bag of their own. He sighs before pulling his phone out and looking at the time. He figures it’s time to wake Namjoon up so he walks over to his boyfriend and runs his small fingers through the oldest hair.

“Namjoonie, wake up, it’s 6:30, you need to start getting prepared, eat breakfast.” He whispers as the older groans and scrunches his face, “Joon, come on it’s late.” He pokes the olders cheek and in return, he’s manhandled onto the bed and buried in a pile of long limbs.

“Namjoon! This isn’t the time to be squishing me to death, get up you giant stuffed bear!” He pushes said man but the weight only increases.

“Shush Jimin. Sleep. No talk.” He mutters into Jimin’s neck, where his face is squished into. Jimin giggles at the feeling of his breath tickling his skin but continues to shove Namjoon.

“It’s 6:30, you need to shower!” He squirms around and Namjoon releases a huff, loosening his hold. As soon as Jimin thinks he’s free to move, Namjoon flips them so Jimin is squished under him. “Joon! This is ridiculous, come on!” He wiggles around until he manages to free one hand and begins to flick Namjoon’s ear.

“Agh, fuck! No, that hurts!” The taller all but jumps off of Jimin and onto the ground. “Cheater...” he mumbles as Jimin hops off his bed.

He looks around until he finds Namjoon’s bathroom supplies, grabs his towel and shoves them into Namjoon’s hands who’s barely getting up, “Bath! Coffee is finished, grab a snack bar because we’re out of banana milk.” He smiles and turns around to leave when he feels Namjoon’s arms around him.

“Jimin you’re my angel.” He says as he kisses his cheek loud and messy. Jimin giggles and pushes him away, “I’m a nice fairy, get used to it.” He says as he blows him a kiss and hits his back against someone.

“Jimin.” A stern voice says and Jimin sees Namjoon cringe, “Namjoon, so nice to see you’ve decided to wake up. Get your ass in the shower now! We’re late, again.” Jin grabs a hold of Jimin’s wrist and drags him away while they walk towards the elders room.

“Jinnie hyung, this isn’t necessary I was already on my way to-“

“Shush, Park Jimin.” Jin frowns as they enter the room, “Sit down.” He tells Jimin as he pushes him on his bed ignoring Jimin’s protests.

Jin glares at him before crossing over to Yoongi’s part of the room. A white fluffy duvet is covering a large mass, two pairs of feet poking out on the other side. Jin shakes his head, “Up Min Yoongi, it’s very late and the vans are already on their way.”

“Fuck off, it’s not late, get out of my room.” A raspy voice mumbles and Jin scowls.

“I’m warning you, Yoongi. You either get up right now or I make things very awkward for both of us.” He threatens but Yoongi doesn’t he budge, just grunts. “Fine, let’s see what’s under curtain number one!” He pulls the duvet off and Hoseok shrieks as Yoongi covers both of them with a pillow.

“What the hell is wrong with you?!” Yoongi shoots up, dignity uncovered and on full display, but Jin doesn’t even flinch. “You can’t just come in here and scare the living daylights out of Hoseok! Look at him, he looks like a deer in headlights.” He turns to Hoseok who’s scrambling for a pair of sweats.

“Listen to me, Min Yoongi. I’ve seen you cry at a kids movie. You don’t scare me, no one scares me, I’m only slightly intimidated by Jungkook.” He pokes his chest and throws him a pair of jeans. “Move both your asses, now.” He points at both boys who are looking at him with their mouths agape, “Come on Jimin.” He tells the younger who is calmly sitting on the edge of Seokjins bed.

“Jimin is in here?!” Yoongi whisper-screams and Hoseok peaks his head out to see Jimin getting up, a hand over his eyes.

“Bye Hyungs, don’t be naked!” He awkwardly waves around before following Seokjin out. Yoongi groans, “So much for ‘telling them at the right time.’”

“Oh come on, no one has a sense of privacy, I’m surprised it lasted this long.” Hoseok smiles as he gives Yoongi a peck and walks put the door.

“Hyung, why did I follow you to see Yoongi and Hoseok naked?” Jimin asks Jin who’s bust pulling Taehyung out of his bed.

“Because I need help with Tae, now when I say pull, grab his legs and pull with all your might!” Jin says as Jimin quickly scrambles for Taehyung’s ankles.

Needless to say they both ended up flat on their asses because Taehyung refused to get up held on tightly to his bed frame.

oOo

Seokjin ends up shoving Jimin into the shower while he rushes out to wake up Jungkook and Taehyung who are now clinging to each other like a pair of vines. When did Jungkook even slip into Taehyung’s room, Jimin will never know. Jimin takes his time washing his hair, using that new sugar body scrub Namjoon bought him and humming some tunes before he receives three loud bangs on the door.

“PARK JIMIN IT’S 8AM GET OUT.” Jin’s screeches making Jimin’s eyes pop open and quickly jump out of the shower. How was it that he always managed to be late?

He dry half-hazardly, applies a new coat of suncream and make up, dry his hair and slip on his clothing before running to his room, tripping on his luggage and slipping on his last minute accessories. He manages to grab two face masks and a cap before rushing to the living room where all the other members were waiting in him.

“Jimin-ah, honestly I never understand why it’s always you.” Their manager shakes his head before ushering the boys out so their luggage can be collected and they can load up the vans.

“Jiminie, late again. What do you even do?” Taehyung shakes his head and pats the shorter’s head affectionately. Jimin pouts at him, while Jin brushes past them and rolls his eyes, “Honestly, Jimin you’d think you would’ve learned by now.”

Yoongi and Hoseok snicker at him and he frowns but it’s quickly erased when he notices the younger of the two is huddled close and smiling sweetly at Yoongi. He can’t be mad when they’re finally comfortable enough to be grossly affectionate in front of them.

He feels Namjoon hug him from behind and kiss the top of his head. Jimin tilts his head and beams at the taller. “I’m sorry for making you late, Minie.” Jimin shakes his head, eyes forming into half moons as he smiles at Namjoon.

“You? Of course it’s not your fault, i don’t know why im always late.” He giggles as he kisses Namjoon’s cheek. He might be late most of the time but his real reason for his tardiness made up for it in small kisses and the best hugs ever.
