“Hey, Jiminie, you’re going to be late for class!”
Jimin rolled his eyes at his mom’s incessant shouting and raked his fingers through his hair. He shrugged on a jacket and picked up his bag before tucking his phone into his pocket.
“I’m not in high school anymore Mom, I’ll be fine! Bye!” He shook his head as he walked out of the door and slammed it on his mom’s rebuttal.
“Hey Jimin, are you going to come hang out tonight?” Jimin’s friend Taehyung asked him. Jimin just shrugged with a glance in his friend’s direction and went back to typing on his computer. “Come on, don’t blow me off like that. A bunch of people are coming! Jungkook, Hoseok, Namjoon...and Yoongi and Jin.”
“What?! Like, Min Yoongi? And Kim Seokjin?!” Jimin whirled his head around to face Taehyung in shock.
“Well, they’re friends with Namjoon and I’m friends with Namjoon and he said he’d ask them to come so I assume they’re coming.”
Jimin sat back in shock, feeling slightly nauseous. He had to decide whether or not to hang out with them. The cool kids? The ones he’d probably make a fool of himself in front of?
“So…?” Taehyung poked Jimin’s shoulder, forcing him out of his daze.
“I mean….I guess I’ll go. Nothing to lose from it, right?”
“Awesome!” Taehyung punched the air in victory. “Jimin, we’re going to have alcohol. Can you please not act like a dumbass, too? Especially if you want to make a good impression on Yoongi and Seokjin. I know you hate stuff like that and you don’t want to, like, go against your family ideals and everything, but you’ve gotta make your own choices in life, man. Please at least try, for me?”
Jimin sighed and nodded, nervously turning back to his schoolwork. However, his thoughts were replaced with stress over that night, and especially with being around his crush Kim Seokjin….
“Mom, I’m going over to Tae’s! I’m not gonna be home for dinner and maybe not until tomorrow!” Jimin shouted from his room.
He quickly changed into a casual t-shirt and jeans and slid on his sneakers. He swept his hair to the sides and sprayed on some product to hold it in place. He quickly texted Tae that he was on his way and thudded down the stairs and out of the house before he could hear his mom’s warning speech again.
He burst through the door of Tae’s house and ran right into the back of Min Yoongi. He stumbled back and blushed as the other man turned around. Instead of scoffing like Jimin thought he would, Yoongi just steadied him, still with a straight face, and turned back to talking with Namjoon, who was standing beside him. Jimin awkwardly inched around them and made his way to Tae’s room.
“Tae! Why did you convince me to do this?! I ran into Yoongi and I almost passed out from embarrassment! How am I going to last a whole night around them?” Jimin slid down the back of Tae’s door in despair.
“Woah, Jimin, calm down! You’ll be okay. Just take a drink and chill out, everything will be fine. Just loosen up a bit, alright?” Tae hit Jimin’s shoulder and stood up to grab a glass bottle sitting on his desk. “Here, have some right now. A sip or two should be enough to start getting you tipsy. I mean, I assume you’re quite the lightweight.”
Jimin sighed and took the bottle, taking a swig. He choked and coughed, spraying the alcohol across his lap. He grimaced and wiped his face, before taking another, slightly more successful sip. Tae giggled before he helped him up, swinging his arm over Jimin’s shoulder and they walked back out to meet the rest of the boys.
After messing around with drinks and food for a while, Tae stood on a table and shouted at everyone to be quiet. He stumbled and almost fell off the table, but managed to steady himself and took another drink with a loud, obnoxious laugh.
“This is like...really middle school-ish, but we should totally play Truth or Dare. But now it’ll be like even edgier because we’re in college and not middle school!” Everyone nodded in agreement and they all stumbled into a kind-of circle-ish shape. Jin and Namjoon basically laid on each other while giggling their asses off. Tae stumbled off of the table and landed in Jungkook’s lap, with Hoseok falling on top of him and the three of them devolving into hysterical laughter. Jimin fell over as he sat down, right into Yoongi’s arms.
“Geez Jimin, you gotta stop falling for me like this! This is the second time tonight!” Yoongi giggled and playfully patted his cheek.
Jimin’s cheeks were all flushed and he giggled as he took another sip of his drink and sat up. Tae noticed and slid over to sit by Jimin, wrapping his arm around his shoulder. He raised his glass and cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention, and the chattering stopped except for the occasional bursts of drunken laughing.
“Okay, guys! I’ll go first!” Tae stated. He looked around, glaring daggers into everyone as he determined his target. “Jiminie! Truth or dare?”
“Dare!” Jimin spoke before he thought. After he said that, he felt nerves break through the drunken haze of his mind, but he pushed them away and sat up straight with determination.
“Oooh Jimiiiin, getting gutsy in here! Alright….” Tae squinted in his friend’s direction before grinning mischievously. “I dare you to….kiss Seokjin. And, for double points, go do seven minutes in heaven with him.”
Everyone around the circle “ooh’d” as Jimin blushed harder and averted eye contact. Jin looked around with his eyebrow cocked in confusion, gesturing to himself. Tae nodded and shoved Jimin forward. Jimin shyly stood up, reluctant to let everyone see how willing he was to do this. Everyone in the room sat with bated breath, waiting to see what would happen. Jin shrugged and stood up and everyone started cheering and shouting in surprise. Jin stood up and took Jimin’s hand, dragging him out and to Tae’s guest room.
Jimin walked in the room in front of Jin and turned to apologize for how embarrassed he must have felt, but was met with Jin’s lips on his. His eyes fluttered shut and his hands slowly drifted to rest behind Jin’s head. He felt Jin pull slightly away and he opened his eyes to meet Jin’s. He felt a small jolt of panic go through his heart and he pulled away, putting his head into his hands.
“What am I doing? What is this? What the fu--”
“Hey, it’s okay!” Jin cut off Jimin’s panicked babbling, resting his hand on Jimin’s back. “Just relax, if you don’t want to do this you don’t have to. It’s literally just a stupid dare that came from a guy who’s fucking hammered. But hey, you’re cute! I wouldn’t mind kissing you.”
Jimin stood with his back to Jin, arguing with himself whether or not to go through with it. He could feel Jin’s gaze on his back, the atmosphere turning more awkward with each passing second. He went back and forth so many times he started to go dizzy. On the one hand, Jimin could go ahead with it and possibly have his heart stomped on by his crush, or he could give up and look like a fool in front of everyone. Well, everyone but Jin. He was a lot sweeter than the image his reputation gave him….
After a couple more seconds, both boys’ holding their breath in anticipation, Jimin turned around and confidently stepped forward. He put his hand behind Jin’s head and pulled him close, softly pressing their lips together. Jin wrapped his arms around Jimin’s waist and smiled against the smaller boy’s lips. As soon as they separated, Jimin blushed, cheeks dusted light pink as they gazed into each other’s eyes.
“Thank you for giving me a chance, Jimin-ah. I do really like you.” Jimin blushed harder and glanced away from Jin’s piercing gaze. He removed his arm from Jimin’s waist and looked at the time with a playful sigh.
“You wasted three of our minutes!”
