Summary
A collection of short stories, written as gifts for the Silmarillion Stockings event:
1. Curufin cannot free himself of his doom. He will do what he can for Aredhel.
2. Nothing is ever simple in the life of Túrin Turambar. Not even the necessary act of emptying his bowels.
3. After Galdor's passing, Fingon finds a way to bring back the smile on Húrin's face.
4. Fingon is driven mad by guilt and grief. Celegorm offers succor, if in unconventional ways.
5. With Balan's help, Finrod learns to love the sunlight. Twice.
6. In the woods of Nan Dungortheb, Haleth offers herself in exchange for the survival of her people.
7. Fingon braves the winter and journeys to Himring, but his romantic surprise does not go quite as planned.
8. Nerdanel is prepared to do anything, anything at all, to prevent fate from claiming her son. -

Summary
On the lake, it’s not reason but feeling that convinces Fingon to go after Maedhros, years of the glass wall between him and the world rising, thickening, until he stands always on the outside looking in at the people he wishes to protect. Reason comes later, justifying him. Like as not, I'll be captured or slain, he thinks, but if I am, we’ll be no worse off than we were before. The chance is worth it.

Summary
Findekáno is not surprised. Perhaps he has always known, in some small, hidden pocket of his mind, how intimacy stripped bare is but another form of power. How love-making is a war of skin and will, a victory spelled out in garbled moans, a breaking, a remaking. Yet the knowledge does not protect him from the fear he once craved, an ice-cold spear stuck into his guts, incomprehensible, immovable. Findekáno wishes to serve Tulkas - has never wished anything more. Wishes to prove his valour, to earn it with dust in his mouth and blood on his fingers and sweat-stung, battered skin. Wishes to taste, in holy Aman, the forbidden tanginess of ruin.
All will be well, he knows, he knows. All will be well.
