If Ilya had struggled this much to get off in his own body, he would have gone to the hospital.
Well. He wouldn't have, actually, but he would have let himself have an insanely high budget to find a discreet professional to come to his home and consult about his dick. Point is, he would have considered it an emergency of the upmost importance and possibly a harbinger of his death.
It was humiliating to type: Been touching my dick for one hundred years… nothing is happening. Before he hit send, he thought of Shane's shrill voice climbing to yell at him and deleted the message. He wrote instead: I have question. Private.

Ilya seems to consider this, but only briefly. "If we do not have baby, next time it would be you, probably," he says. Shane considers it and he must not be able to keep it off of his face. Ilya continues: "Yes. I thought this. I also thought — our child — inside of you, she is looking for snack, and you are at the fridge going, kale, kale, salmon, sushi…"
"I don't think you can have sushi while pregnant," Shane says.
"You would know this and you would go for the kale. It is too sad to think of." Ilya says with an exaggerated frown, and then shakes his head like a wet dog, dislodging the picture. "No, to ensure our child has normal taste, I must be in charge of her. She will come out of my womb looking for carbs. Not afraid of sauerkraut, or sour cream. Dipping sauce."

“It’s-it’s complicated.” He catches the present tense too fucking late to do anything about it, and he barely resists the urge to either groan or slip forward to start beating his head against the coffee table.
Fuck his fucking life.
“You’re still…seeing this person?” His mom asks, and the amount of control he can hear her exerting is almost painful. “Who is-”
“Yuna,” his dad cuts in, voice quiet, “maybe give him a second, yeah?”
Yeah, Shane agrees in his head. Give him a second.
Maybe give him a decade while they’re at it.
(when shane's old fake id falls out of his wallet around his parents, he has to explain that it was to book hotel rooms before he was 21)
(...and then he has to explain why he needed to book those hotel rooms in the first place)

Once Shane's parents know about his relationship with Ilya, they begin treating him accordingly. Ilya is prepared for this.
Until he's not.
Or, sometimes love comes in the form of unexpected lectures on the rules regarding taxation of capital gains by foreign nationals residing in Canada. And then Shane picks up the pieces.
(There are no actual tax lectures in this fic, only drinking about them.)
