Every lingering touch, every softened "Andrea" breathed into the quiet space of the townhouse, every flutter of her lashes accompanied by her most seductive look—it all slid right off the younger woman like water off a duck's back. Andrea would either just beam at her, eyes crinkling in that infuriatingly endearing way or playfully comment 'You're a dangerous one' before launching into another rambling story about her latest expose for The Mirror.
It was infuriating, really. She was Miranda Priestly—she didn't do pining, she didn't do crushes, and she certainly didn't do desperate. Yet, here she was, standing over a bubbling cauldron, and clutching a leather-bound, dusty tome in her hand. Coming from a long line of witches had its perks, of course—from the mundanity of keeping the townhouse spotless, to always knowing if someone has it out for her (ahem Irv)—but faced with Andrea Sachs' oblivious smile, and apparent thickheadedness, magic felt like her only remaining move.
