Hello friends! I know I haven't written for the ADCU in some time but i have this dad!clyde brainrot that i posted over on tumblr so i might as well post it here. who wouldve thought id still be pining over the sasquatch man in 2026 >:)

While Ophelia sat on the passenger seat of the golf cart, which Clyde moved forward every few houses, he stood at the end of every driveway to make sure their duckling made it to the front door and back safely. Ophelia had also been spared wearing an inflatable duck suit but had a bright yellow sweatshirt with ‘wings’ attached to the arms - mostly because Mama duck successfully pointed out that it would be hard to hold Daisy’s little brother in that thing."

She was not in the mood for this nonsense! She did, however, attempt to leap past both the man and the volunteer in a desperate bid to get outside. Once there, she could lick her wounds and figure out where to shift safely. There are always safehouses, if you know what to look for! Unfortunately for Ophelia, she was caught by the large man who cuddled her against his chest with her head and front paws on his shoulder while her tail lashed angrily. “I got ya, darlin’”"Series

Of course it didn’t help that Ophelia looked like something out of an art show, with her red hair done in one of those fancy braids that Mellie and Sadie had told him the name of but Clyde couldn’t ever remember. The kind where it was gathered up into lotsa little bits goin’ down, and she was wearing a green sweater dress that made her look like a damn feast and he was a starving man."

"She was there to talk about Mr. Logan and how the Logan family could help him, not her own failed romances! The bedroom was as tidy and sparse as the rest of the trailer, with laundry thrown in the hamper, a bed frame that looked like Clyde had probably been sleeping on it most of his life (there were crayon marks on one of the legs). There was a book by the bed, escapist fantasy, with a receipt used as a bookmark and a small plant in the windowsill.
There was a lot you could tell about a person from their bedroom, and Ophelia liked this one. When she flipped back the covers, there was a soft, barely there scent that was warm and comforting. It made the empty bed feel lonely but at least its occupant would be returning soon. And she would do her very best to make sure that Clyde Logan never slept in a jailhouse cot again!"

"What I don’t git is why you brought home five kittens. Ain’t we more of a dog family?” Jimmy smirked a bit, mostly trying to antagonize his little brother as he watched a kitten climb up Clyde’s arm. It screeched the whole way up, with its little tail sticking straight up in the air.
”Miss Ophelia said it’s kitten season,” the human-turned-cat tree answered as though that explained everything. The kitten, on reaching Clyde’s broad shoulder, screamed at him fiercely before head butting Clyde’s goatee. This little creature didn’t have the sense to know that he was a lot bigger and scarier but damned it that wasn’t just the cutest darn thing he’d seen - Ophelia exceptin’ of course.
”Uh huh. And what’s kitten season exactly?”
”I don’t rightly know. You can ask her when she comes by.” She’d probably told him. In fact, Clyde was confident about that. Ophelia had told him lots of things and she’d given him a tidy folder of information about kittens. He… hadn’t remembered much other than Ophelia liked it when he picked up the kittens and said he’d take ‘em in till they were bigger. Oh this wasn’t gonna be good, was it…"Series
