Hey anon, thanks for reading and commenting! You've picked up on something I definitely wish I could have incorporated more of in this story, which is the Argents' history of manipulating Stiles. When they first met, Stiles was just some bystander teen; the Argents had no reason to spend time with him once Scott was patched up. But when Stiles turned out to have access to the BHPD's case files, the Argents became very interested in Stiles (also Allison started dating Stiles's best friend). Stiles turned out to have potential as a future hunter, so the Argents' continuing relationship with him is earned and built on respect, but initially it was very much about manipulation. Present-day Stiles isn't disillusioned enough to see the true extent of the Argents' manipulation yet, but he'll get there some day. Great job spotting that! Kudos to you!
