Chapter Text

**Tamaki's POV**

Today marked the anniversary of when Mirio and I first got together, and I had planned a special surprise for him. It wasn’t much, but I hoped it would mean something. Not a lot of people knew this, but I could cook. It was a secret I kept, not out of shame, but because I didn’t think it was anything special. Mirio, however, was always full of praise. He said I was good enough to open a restaurant and become a chef when I retired from hero work. But I wasn’t sure—cooking was just something I did because it made me happy, not because I wanted to turn it into something bigger. Besides, what if no one liked my food?

I was determined to make something special today, though. I would cook Mirio’s favorite meal—ramen. I wasn’t an expert, but I had watched enough cooking shows and read enough recipes to give it a shot. Plus, the thought of seeing his smile when he saw what I made kept me going.

Mirio was out on a mission, so I had some time to prepare. I walked into the kitchen, feeling a little nervous but excited. I pulled open the fridge and cupboards, carefully selecting the ingredients I would need. There was a bit of trial and error, of course, but after some time, I felt confident that the ramen would turn out just right.

*I just hope it tastes okay...*

By the time I had set the table, the delicious aroma of the broth was filling the kitchen. It was almost time. I quickly wiped my hands on my apron and listened for any sign of Mirio’s return. Soon enough, I heard the front door open and close. Mirio was home.

**Time Skip**

Mirio entered the kitchen, looking exhausted but with that familiar warmth in his eyes. His gaze immediately shifted to the table, and then to me, and then back at the food. He blinked a few times, clearly surprised. Before I could even say anything, he rushed over to me, pulling me into a tight hug. His lips were quick to land on my face, pressing sweet kisses on my cheeks.

“You did this for me?” he asked, his voice soft and filled with emotion.

I blushed and nodded, feeling my heart flutter in my chest. It was all for him.

“Aw, thank you, bunny,” he whispered, his arms tightening around me. I buried my face in his chest, overcome with warmth. He chuckled lightly, and I could feel his joy radiating through him.

We sat down at the table together, and Mirio dug into the ramen with his usual enthusiasm. “Wow, Tamaki, this is amazing! I knew you were good at everything, but cooking? You’re incredible!” he said, beaming at me. I felt my face turn even redder at his praise, but I couldn’t stop smiling. Hearing him say that made all the effort worth it.

I could feel the heat of his gaze on me the entire time, and every compliment he gave made me blush even more. As we ate, we laughed about the mission he had just come back from, but honestly, my mind was elsewhere—completely captivated by the way Mirio looked at me.

As the evening went on, we moved to the living room. The light from the lamp beside the sofa cast a warm glow over us as we settled in together, Mirio pulling me close. I nestled under his arm, resting my head against his shoulder. The evening had been perfect, and I felt content—so content, in fact, that my eyelids started to droop. My body grew heavier, and before I knew it, I had drifted into sleep, my head resting comfortably on Mirio’s chest.

**Mirio’s POV**

Tamaki had fallen asleep so quickly that I couldn’t help but smile. He always looked so peaceful when he slept, like nothing could bother him. I reached for my phone, unable to resist capturing the moment. The sight of him curled up against me, his face relaxed and calm, was just too precious not to document.

I admired him for a moment, silently appreciating everything about him. How he cared so much for everyone, how he always put others first, and how even when he was feeling shy, he still managed to surprise me with his warmth. I didn’t think I’d ever get used to how lucky I was to have him in my life.

Carefully, I slipped my phone back into my pocket and then gently picked Tamaki up, cradling him in my arms bridal style. He stirred slightly, but didn’t wake, his soft breathing the only sound filling the room. I carried him upstairs to our bedroom, feeling his weight against me. I loved the way he trusted me enough to fall asleep like this.

Once in the bedroom, I slowly set him down on the bed and began to change him into something more comfortable—one of my oversized hoodies that swallowed him whole. He looked so small and delicate in it, but it was something I adored. I tucked him in under the covers, making sure he was comfortable and warm.

After getting ready for bed myself, I joined him, sliding in next to him and pulling him close. I wrapped my arms around him, savoring the feeling of him against me. He was so soft, his presence grounding me in a way nothing else could.

I smiled to myself, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. *I’m so lucky,* I thought, letting sleep take over as I drifted off with Tamaki in my arms. This was the perfect end to the perfect day.
