Chapter 40: I Think He’d Look Good in White!

Summary:

Dick and Kori are getting married

Bruce can’t believe his youngest boy is getting married

Notes:

This is it people. This is the final chapter 🥹 we’ve made it to the end of this story.

It’s been a crazy ride. I never expected this story to get as big as it did when I started it last year. All I can is that it’s probably my favorite fic out all the ones I’ve written, and I’m grateful to each and everyone of you who stuck around for the ride.

Now let’s dive in to the last chapter

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

“Today is the big day!” Tim cheered as he walked through the halls of Wayne Manor. He’d been assigned the job of wedding planner, his job was making sure everyone stuck to the schedule and that everything was done in time.

He’d gotten Jon and Conner to arrange the chairs for guests to sit on during the ceremony with their super speed. Alfred had already put the wedding cake in the fridge for the party later. And he’d arranged a limo to come pick up Dick and Kori later.

Everything was running smoothly. The guests should be arriving in thirty minutes and the bride and groom were already getting ready. It should all be smooth sailing!

Until he ran into Bruce when he made a turn on the hallway. “Oh hey B.”

“Have you seen Jason?” Bruce asked his son. He had to give Jason the wedding rings as he was Dick’s best man and would be the one to hand them over to the couple.

“He’s with Roy putting their suits on” Tim replied. He’d checked on them earlier along with making sure Damian and Jon were both putting their suits on. “Speaking of I need to make sure Conner is getting ready” Tim then scurried along to Con’s room.

“And Dick?” Bruce asked as his son walked away.

“Still hasn’t come out…” Tim said as he waked away.

Bruce sighed, Tim had taken the job of wedding planner extremely seriously. Maybe too seriously. He should get Tim to take a break, but right now he had to get to his older sons.

So he made his way to Dick’s room.  He couldn’t believe it was finally happening, his oldest was getting married. After four months of planning, the day of Dick and Kori’s wedding had finally arrived.

—————————————————

Bruce knocked on Dick’s door.

“Who is it?” He heard Dick’s voice from inside.

He gently opened the door, “It’s me.”

Dick had been standing in front of the mirror fixing his tie, “Oh…come in.” He was so nervous that his plans were sweaty and his grip on the tie wasn’t sturdy. He honestly felt silly, he could easily beat up criminals and jump off twenty story buildings unfazed, but marring the love of his life? That got his brain to malfunction so hard he couldn’t even tie a tie.

His hair was perfectly styled with hair gel. He was wearing a dark grey suit along with matching shoes and belt. And he was currently having difficulty fixing a lilac tie around his neck. Lilac because it had been a color him and Kori had agreed on. “Hey Bruce, how do I look?”

Bruce stood in the doorway looking his son up and down with a fond smile, “You look perfect.” He couldn’t believe how big his boy had gotten, felt like yesterday he’d first shown Dick the Batcave.

Dick smiled nervously, “Thanks….”

Bruce walked over and took the tie from his. “I can’t believe my oldest is getting married.” He wrapped the tie in place and tied it for him. “Feels like you moved in yesterday.”

Dick snorted, “This place was a lot quieter back then.”

Bruce grinned, “Sure was.” The house was a lot less chaotic when it was just him, Dick, and Alfred. Back when his biggest worry was Dick trying to dangle from his chandelier.

But something was off with Dick. His palms were extremely sweaty, more than his usual nervousness. His jaw muscles were tense and his shoulders were closed up.

“What’s wrong?” He fixed Dick’s suit at the shoulders.

Dick bit his lip, “It’s nothing…”

Bruce looked at him with a deadpan look, “I’ve known you long enough to know you’re lying.”

Dick lowered his gaze, “It’s just that, It’s just….I wish my parents were here.” He then quickly looked back up in alarm. Dick didn’t want to accidentally offend Bruce, or make him think that’s he’d rather have his biological parents here over him. “I wish I could introduce them to Kori, but also Jason, Damian, Tim, you, Alfred, everyone.”

He wished he’d gotten to introduce them to the family he’d found. He’d wished they could have met his intergalactic soulmate. If him and Kori ever had kids, his parents would never meet them either.

Bruce rubbed his shoulder in reassurance, “I know they’ll love to be here with you.” He knew exactly how Dick felt. He too wished that he could introduce his parents to their grandkids and to Clark of course.

Dick sighed and sat down on his bed, “I wish they were here, but at the same time if they were here I wouldn’t be getting married. I wouldn’t have met you, and I wouldn’t have become a Titan.” It was such a cruel paradox, he wished his parents could see the life he’d made for himself. But said life would never exist if his parents hadn’t died that night.

Bruce sat next to him. “They’ll always be with you Dick. And I’m sure they’d want you to be happy on your wedding day.”

“Thanks dad” Dick turned to give Bruce a hug.

Bruce gladly hugged him back, “Anytime.”

“No” Dick breathed on the other’s neck. “Thanks for….everything, thanks for taking me in.” No words could ever express how grateful he was to Bruce for taking him in. There were many ups and downs, fights, losses, bruises, but they had all brought him here.

Bruce tightened his grip on the hug, “Thank you for accepting.” Because he wouldn’t be the man or father he is today if it hadn’t been for Dick Grayson. He’d messed up a lot with Dick, but those lessons helped taught him many lessons that helped him do better with all the following kids. But Dick would always hold a special place in Bruce’s heart as his first child, his first Robin, the boy who turned Bruce Wayne and Batman into a father.

Dick pulled back from the hug, “Love you dad.”

“I love you too.”

And then the door to Dick’s room swung open again. And in came Jason Todd, wearing a black suit but also wearing a lilac tie. “Hey Dick the Titans are all here. Oh…hi Bruce.”

“Hello Jason” Bruce waved him over.

But Dick practice jumped off the bed, “Wait the Titans are here?”

Jason nodded, “Yep. Alfred is taking everyone outside.”

Dick grabbed onto Jason’s biceps and shook him, “We don’t have much time left! We have to get everyone down to the isle!”

Jason laughed, it wasn’t often that he saw Dick panickedike this. “Relax Dick, I told Roy to go down already. And the others are all dressed.”

Dick let out a long breath, “Okay, that’s good.”

“You ready to go get married?” Bruce asked.

Dick inhaled, “Yeah I think so.”

Jason grinned, “Good, then let’s get you married.”

Dick laughed at himself, “I hope Kori is doing better than me.”

And so Jason and Bruce helped him fix up his clothes so he looked his best, and Bruce gave Jason the rings.

—————————————————

Over at a guest room on the other side of the Manor, Kori and Raven were getting ready for the ceremony. Raven had been picked as Kori’s maid of honor so part of the job was helping Kori handle her pre wedding nerves.

“I feel like I’m going to throw up” Kori said as she checked her dress over again in the mirror. It was a long white dress with purple detailing at the end of it trailing. Her long hair was loose and she’s gotten it professionally washed so her curls were extra noticeable.

“Please don’t” Raven sighed. Kori had already threatened to puke five times while she put on her wedding attire.

“I’m so nervous. I can’t believe I’m getting married” Kori squealed. She’d thought about this day so many times, fantasized about building a home and eventual family with Dick. But actually doing it? That filled all her stomachs with butterflies.

Raven put a reassuring hand on her shoulder, “Relax Kori. You and Dick have already been acting like an old married couple for years, you’re just making it legal.” They’d been acting like a married couple practically since the day Dick got his soulmark and they found out they were soulmates, rarely being apart and always treating each other with devoted care.

Kori’s shoulders relaxed, “I suppose you are right.”

“So tell me about that Earth tradition again?” Raven asked, trying to get Kori to think of something else.

“Oh right” the Tamaranian’s green eyes sparkled. “Earth tradition dictated I must wear something that is new, something that is old, something that is borrowed, and something that is blue.” She’d read a lot about wedding during her wedding planning with Dick and she wanted to include some Earth traditions in their wedding.

Raven hummed, “And how many you got?”

“This necklace is old..” Kori touched the necklace that used to belong to Martha Wayne. Then she looked down at her dress, “…My dress is new. I am only missing sitting borrowed.”

Raven raised an eyebrow, “What about something blue?”

Kori leaned down to whisper in her friend’s ear, “…My underwear is blue.”

Raven scrunched her nose, “I didn’t need to know that much.” That was a fact that only Dick needed to know.

Kori giggled, “You asked.”

Raven tried not to roll her eyes. She was wearing a dark purple dress to match the wedding color palette and several gold and purple bracelets and bands in her arms. She removed one of her purple bracelets and handed it to Kori, “Here, you can borrow this.”

Kori took the bracelet in her hands. It had several purple beads tied together with golden thread,  “It’s beautiful.” Raven then helped her wrap it around her wrist.

“There, now you have all the Earth traditions” Raven said as she tied the knot of the thread.

Kori looked down at the bracelet, it was perfect, it even matched with her necklace. “Thank you Raven, you are a great friend” she pulled her friend into a hug.

“You’re welcome. It looks good on you…” Raven hugged her back. “I’m sure Dick will cry” she joked.

That got a giggle out of Kori, “Do you think so?”

Raven nodded, “Definitely.”

But then the door to their suit was open, “Excuse me!”

Raven moved to stand in front of her friend, “Your not supposed to see her dress!” She yelled at whoever it was.

It was their loyal wedding planner Tim. He was covering his eyes with one hand while holding the door knob with the other. “Sorry, I got a visitor for you.”

Kori titled her head so she could see past Raven, “Visitor?…..” and then she saw who Tim was referring too. “Ryand’r!”

Her younger brother had come! He’d told her he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to come to the wedding due to a mission he’d been assigned too by the Omega Men.

“Hello Kori” her younger brother waved from the door.

Kori flew over and gave him a hug, “You made it!” She let out a few tears of joy. She’d been upset that her family wouldn’t be able to attend her wedding, well maybe not that upset at Komand’r’s absence, but sad nonetheless.

Ryand’r smiled cheerfully and hugged her back, “Of course I did. Did you think I would miss this?” He had to pull a few strings to make it work, but he’d never miss out on his favorite sister’s wedding.

Kori pulled back from the hug to look at him, “I’m so happy you are here.” He was even wearing a black suit, she suspected Tim had probably found a way to get in contact with her brother in order to give him all the details he’d need to know.

“Chop chop people the guests are already here!” Tim, still with his eyes closed, urged them.

“You can leave now Tim” Rave crossed her arms. “The bride is the last one to come in anyway.”

“Whatever, I need to go” Tim turned around and shut the door behind him.

—————————————————

Downstairs, Alfred was welcoming all the guests to the Manor and guiding them to the wedding venue they’d constructed in the gardens.

It was December, Winter in Gotham, but Bruce had asked Zatanna to built a barrier around the Manor grounds so the weather did not disturb them. It also prevented anyone from noticing anything strange from the manor, Bruce had asked for that part as an extra precaution to have. You never know when you’re housing an event filled with aliens and meta humans.

“Oh Alfred, it’s so good to see you again” Martha Kent hugged the manor’s butler. Dick had invited them to the wedding as his new sort of adoptive grandparents.

“Hello Miss Martha, it is good to see you as well” Alfred replied.

“My oldest grandbaby is getting married, I’m so happy for him” Martha shifted on her feet. She’d only known Bruce and the kids for seven months, but she already considered them her grandbabies.

“Never thought our grandkid would get married before Clark” Jonathan joked as he shook Alfred’s hand.

“Hey!” Clark said from behind them. His parents had arrived just an hour earlier at the Gotham City Train Station and he’d gone to pick them up. He’d gone as Clark Kent of course, and then used his super speed to put on a dark blue suit Bruce had gotten tailored for him.

“Oh there you are dear” Martha smiled at her son.

“Master Clark, your seats have already been set” Alfred led them to the garden.

“Thanks Alfred.”

—————————————————

The seats at the wedding venue were staring to fill up. The Teen Titans had all arrived together and were sat on Kori’s side, but of course they were here for both of their friends.

“So you’re Batgirl correct?” A black haired girl asked the Barbara,  who was sitting on a row on the other side of the isle.

“Barbara Gordon nice to meet you” Barbara waved hello. Her and her father had been invited to the wedding by Dick and were sitting on his guest side.

“Linda Park” the black haired introduced herself.

Barbara raised an eyebrow, “So are you a super too or no?”

“Oh no…” Linda waved her hand dismissively, “I’m a journalist.” An investigative reporter in Keystone City to be exact.

Barbara hummed, “Oh, that’s amazing.”

“I know, she’s awesome” Wally West wrapped an arm over his soulmate’s shoulder. They’d met over a year ago after Linda interviewed him on a murder case he’d been working on with Barry. And five months ago she’d managed to deduce his identity, leading to them finding out they were soulmates.

He’d introduced her to the other Titans three months ago, and Dick had roasted him for pulling a Bruce in having a soulmate who’s a reported, and for pulling a Clark by having a soulmate who managed to deduce his secret identity.

“So what time do we get to eat Alfred’s food?” Bart asked from the seat next to Wally.

Cassie, who sat behind him, rolled her eyes. “Calm down, I’m sure you can surviving until dinner.”

“I agree” Artemis chinned in.

“I hope they got enough food to feed you and Wally” Cassie laughed.

“I’ve heard Tamaranian weddings involve very large feats” Garth said.

Artemis smirked, “I guess we’ll find out.”

Donna Troy looked around their group. “Where did Garfield go?” Everyone was here, including her own soulmate, Terry Logan who she’d introduced to the team two months prior.

“He’s supposed to walk down the aisle with Kori” Garth answered.

“Oh makes sense” she wasn’t fully familiarized with wedding procedures either, having been raised in Themyscira, where zero weddings were held.

—————————————————

Over on the other side of the venue, Clark and his parents had found their seats. They were sat in the first row. Clark’s seat was the fifth one down the row, with his parents next to him. He wondered who the four other seats were for? He knew one was for Bruce while the other was logically Alfred’s, but he supposed it wasn’t his business. After all it wasn’t his wedding.

Kara was here, he’d been surprised that she’d gotten here before him anyway. She was sitting in the third intrenched in conversation with Bruce’s cousin Kate Kane. They’d become friends after Bruce and Clark had decided to introduce them to each other, and now they caused chaos together. But Clark was happy that Kara was making more friends.

Being here, he couldn’t help but picture what his worn wedding with Bruce would be like. Though he imagined more of his Justice League friends being present. But there were two members present, Billy Batson who was siting with the Teen Titans, and Zatanna who was sat on the row behind them and who had befriended Bruce during his travels across the world in preparation to become Batman.

Oh, because in their four month of dating so far Clark had heard all sorts of crazy stories about Bruce’s training to become Batman. And had developed an insane respect for and also fear of Tibetan monks.

Clark had zoned out when he’d heard a female voice come up behind him….

“Oh, Superman, funny running into you here.”

Clark turned around in his chair to face the woman. “Ah, Ms Kyle.”

Selina Kyle, Catwoman smiled at him. “How formal, Mr Kent.”

“I didn’t know you’d be invited” in the past few months he’d also found out about Bruce’s past relationship with Selina. He had to admit that he’d been a little jealous at first, but that slowly faded as he spent more and more time with Bruce, who clearly only had eyes for Clark.

“The groom invited me” Selina explained. She’d known Dick since he was a little Robin, and he’d even come to ask her for girl advice when Bruce hadn’t been very helpful back when he was tying to ask Kori out.

“Of corse he did” at this point he was half expecting some Gotham rogues to show up too.

“Hello Ms Kyle” Alfred walked over once all guests had arrived and were seated.

“Hello Alfred” Selina welcomed him with a smile.

Alfred faced the two empty chairs in the front row, “Now for the final touch…” he pulled out a folder with two little signs. He took each sign and tied them to the backs on the chairs. The signs read ‘Reserved for Mary Grayson’ and ‘Reserved for John Grayson’.

It had been Bruce’s idea. He wasn’t blind to the fact that Dick was upset that his parents were able to be at his wedding. He’d watched as Dick had gone to visit their graves more frequently in the past months. So he’d spoken with Alfred to add this special touch for his son.

“Perfect” Alfred whispered as he finished tying the signs. He then took the seat next to them.

—————————————————

Dick, Bruce, and Jason had come downstairs for the ceremony. All the guests had already been seated and the rest of Dick’s groomsmen were ready to go.

Damian, Jonathan, Roy, Conner, and Tim were wearing matching suits to Jason. Roy’s tie was the same lilac as Jason’s, while the rest of their ties were other shades of purple.

“There he is!” Conner cheered as Dick arrived, “the man of the hour.”

Dick rolled his eyes, “Is everyone here?”

Tim nodded, “Yes.” He then clapped his hands to get everyone’s attention, “Places people, places.”

Damian glared at him, “Calm down Drake.”

Tim ignored him, “Okay, Damian and Jon go first. Then me and Con, then Roy and Jason, then Dick and Bruce. Everyone got it?”

Roy saluted him, “Sir yes sir.” Insisting a bark of laughter from Jason.

Tim furrowed his brows. “Not funny.”

“I’m so excited..” Jon shook excitedly. He tugged on his friend’s sleeve, “…aren’t you Damian?”

Damian suppressed a smile, “Of course I am Jonathan.”

Jon showed his radiant smile, “It’s my first time attending a wedding!”

Tim walked over to his boyfriend, “Your tie is crocked.” Seriously ever since the day Tim had lended him a yellow tie, it seemed like Conner never learned how to tie them.

Conner grinned as Tim started fixing his tie. “I know, I was hoping you’d fix it for me.”

Tim tied it extra tight, despite knowing it wouldn’t make any difference to Conner. “I should be mad at you.”

Conner raised a challenging eyebrow, “Are you?”

Tim’s eyes turned slightly pink, “No.”

“You done lovebirds?” Roy brown their little bubble, making Tim blush more.

Over the last four months, Conner and Tim’s relationship had become more public and they’d only grown closer and closer.

Tim huffed and then looked over to Jason, “You have the rings?”

“Right in my pocket” Jay patted his pocket.

Tim card a hand through his hair, “Perfect. Let’s do this.”

“Last chance to back out Dick” Roy joked.

“Shut up Roy” Dick pinched him lightly.

“Hey that hurts!”

Tim pulled out the microphone he’d connected to the sound system in the venue through bluetooth. “Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the groom Dick Grayson-Wayne.”

“Show time!” Bruce whispered to his son.

They all got into formation and started making their way from the manor and onto the outside venue.

—————————————————

All the guests’ heads turned as the groomsmen started making their way down the aisle.

The first groomsmen was Damian, with Jonathan walking with him. They linked their arms together and strider down the aisle.

“Just walk Jonathan” Damian instructed as his arm over Jon’s.

“Right” Jon’s every step was filled with excitement. “This is so exciting!”

Damian said spoke lightly, “I suppose.”

“Do you think you’ll ever get married Damian?” Jon asked as he looked around at all the decorations and their friends and family looking at them.

Damian fumbled for a moment. He still thought soulmates were quite a thorn on one’s side. He understood the appeal but wasn’t sure if he’d get married, “I….don’t know.”

“Well if you do can I be your best man?” Jon sounded hopeful. Damian was his absolute best friend, he’d even been teaching Jon to fight with a sword now that he’d mostly gotten his Kryptonian powers under control.

Damian smiled lightly, “Of course.”

“Yay!” Jon tugged on his arm.

They reached the end of the isle and stood to Dick’s side of the alter. The stood at the very end to make room for all the others.

The next groomsmen was Tim, walking down with his boyfriend Conner. They were both smiling as they came onto the guest’s views.

“You look good in that suit” Conner whispered to his boyfriend. He thought Tim looked goon in almost anything, but a suit was one of his best looks.

“Thank you.”

“So, when we get married….”

Tim tried not to make a face in front of the quests, “When?”

Conner hummed, “Yes when. Who’s wearing white?” He smirked internally at the little blush on Tim’s cheeks. He knew he’d be Tim’s soulmate, he just knew. So he knew that if either of them ever got married it would be to each other.

“It depends on who proposes” Tim responded.

Conner thought for a sec before speaking again, “I think you’d look in white.”

“Then you’ll have to propose to me” Tim said as they finally arrived at the alter and stood in front of Damian and Jon.

The final groomsmen was Jason, walking in with Roy on his arm. Jason told himself he wouldn’t cry, but it was getting hard not to do so.

“Can’t believe Dick is getting married…” if felt like yesterday when he first met Dick, when he still thought being Robin was magical. He remembered teasing Dick when he’d the older had told him about his crush on Kori. And over a decade later here he was being the ring barer to their wedding.

“Seems like yesterday we were forming the Teen Titans” Roy chimed in.

“I wasn’t even around back then.”

“Yeah….” Roy felt a very strange feeling walking down the aisle with Jason. There was a time in his life he’d completely given up on the idea of getting married since his soulmate was dead. Then the hope had been rekindled when he met Jason again after resurrected. And right now, he imagined what his wedding to Jason would be like.

He’d talked to Kori in the past about what being soulmates to the bats was like, especially about having Batman as your father in law. Well now they’d have Batman and Superman which was even scarier. But he wanted it, and maybe someday he would. Maybe he’d have to be the one to propose to Jason though.

The pair arrived at the alter and took their place next to the other couples.

And at long last, it was time for Dick and Bruce to come out.

“Ready?” Bruce asked one final time.

“Let’s do this old man” Dick took his arm. And they took off Batman and Robin, the dynamic duo, in one of the most important moment of their lives.

“It’s wonderful” Dick said as he saw all the decor put together along with all the guests. He waved a little at his friends who were all looking at him.

“You two did a wonderful job” Bruce whispered to him.

The waked mostly in silence, but all the Kryptonians could hear both of their hearts racing. And Dick’s heart beat spiked when they’d arrived at the isle and he positioned himself facing the front of the isle and all the guests. And his eyes landed on the signs…

Dick’s blue eyes glistened with little unshed tears, “Bruce….” He clung to his dad’s hand, feeling the silver bracelet hanging from Bruce’s wrist.

“What is it?”

“Did you…do that?” He pointed to the little signs. Signs for his parents, right in the front, right where they’d be if they were here.

Bruce grinned and nodded, “I thought you’d like it.”

Dick hugged him again, “I love it. Thanks dad.”

“They’re here with you Dick, they’re proud of you. Even prouder than me.” Bruce then let him go and started making his way to his own seat.

“Thank you…”

Bruce glanced at the empty chairs before sitting down. He wished the Grayson could be here for Dick, but he knew that he wouldn’t have gotten the privilege to be Dick’s father if the Graysons were alive. So he just swore to care for their son with all he had.

“Hey” Clark whispered as Bruce sat down. They hadn’t seen each other today yet, so Clark was happy to finally see him.

“Hi Clark” Bruce took his seat in between Alfred and Clark.

Clark looked him up and down, “You were great.”

“Thank you.” Bruce wanted to say Clark didn’t look that bad either, after all he’d been the one to choose Clark’s outfit. And from where he sat he could see that Clark was wearing the chain necklace he’d gifted him all those months ago.

“He liked the gift Master Bruce” Alfred whispered to him.

“I know Alfred….”

—————————————————

Now it was Kori and Raven’s turn to come downstairs for the ceremony.

Garfield had been waiting for them, along with Ace, Krypto, and Titus the newest dog Damian and Jon had brought home. All the does were wearing purple bow ties and were carrying baskets with flower petals.

“Wow you look great!” Garfield said when he saw Kori on her wedding dress. “Dick is gonna love it.”

“Thank you Garfield” Kori said. She had picked up her bouquet, a beautiful arrangement of purple tulips.

“What are the dogs doing?” Raven asked, pointing at the dogs.

Garfield grinned, “Flower dogs!”

“Seriously?”

Kori’s face flushed, “Dick and I thought it was a nice idea.” It was a nice way to integrate the dogs into the wedding as they were part of the family.

“Don’t worry, I told them what to do” Garfield patter Ace and Titus on the head, still a bit scared of Krypto.

Raven sighed, “Whatever.”

Then they heard Tim’s voice in the speakers. “Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the bride Princess Koriand’r!”

Ryand’r placed a loose strand of Kori’s hair behind her ear, “Are you ready?”

Kori smiled brightly and nodded, “Yes.” And so they set off to the venue.

—————————————————

Garfield and Rave were the first to enter the isle. They walked hand in hand, smiling at their friends. When they got to the end of the isle, Raven stood at alter along with Dick while Garfield stood off to the side. Because Raven would be the one performing the wedding.

The next ones to walks down the aisle were the dogs. They arranged themselves into a little formation with Krypto at the center, Ace to the right, and Titus to the left, all dropping petals on the floor as they walked.

“Awww” was the general reaction of everyone as the dogs made their way down.

“I taught him that” Kara said proudly as Krypto trodded down, shaking the basket in his mouth so the petals could fall.

Clark heard that with his super heard and could help but roll his eyes. “Yeah right” as if Kara was the one to teach Krypto manners.

“Shh Kent!” Bruce scolded him for talking too loudly.

The entire venue stood up as music started playin, indicating that it was time for Kori to enter. And so Kori and her brother made their entrance.

“Thank you for coming Ryand’r” Kori said to her brother as they lopped arms and started making their way down.

“I wouldn’t miss it” Ryand’r assured her.

Dick felt the air being sucked out of him when he saw Kori in her dress. It was beautiful, he knew it would be, but it was beautiful. Her hair seemed curlier, the way he liked it. He could see both the necklace and the engagement ring he’d given her shining in the light. He couldn’t believe how lucky he was to be marrying her.

“He better take good care of you” Ryand’r whispered to his sister.

“He does” Kori replied as she looked at Dick’s flabbergasted and flustered face.

“Good.”

They reached the alter and Kori  unhooked her arm from her brother’s and took Dick’s hands in hers.

“You look amazing” Dick said as he took her hands.

Ryandr gave him a stern glare, almost as scary as Damian’s. “Take good care of her Richard.”

“I plan on it.”

—————————————————

Everyone sat back down. The ceremony had now officially begun. Raven summoned her magic, a purple cape with a hood appearing over her dress. In the last few months she’s learned to better embrace her magical and spiritual side, and Dick and Kori knew the couldn’t get a traditional officiant for their wedding, so they asked Raven to do it.

“Dear friends, we are here today to unite the lives of our friends Richard Grayson-Wayne and Koriand’r. Partners, soulmates, and now…untied in binding matrimony!” She voice out to the crowd in a firm voice. “So let us start.”

Raven turned to the groom, “Do you have your vows.”

They’d decided to simply write their own vows to each others, it wasn’t hard. They basically when talking about each other for so many years at this point.

Dick caressed her hands, “Kori. The day I first met you I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. And I became more sure throughout all the years Ive known you. And now I’m ready to start a new life with you.”

Raven then turned to Kori, “And your vows.”

Kori took a deep breath, “Richard. I never expected to find another home after having to abandon my planet. But over time, Earth became my home, I feel in love with its inhabitants , its nature, and you. You helped me find a home here on Earth, and now I wish to find a new home with you.”

Raven nodded as both finished their vows, “Now the rings!”

Jason cleared his throat, “Here you go..” he pulled the ring box from his back pocket and handed it to Raven.

She took the box, opened it and her eyes shimmered with a purple light. She looked to the groom, “Richard, do you accept Koriand’r as your wife?”

Dick answers in a heartbeat, “I do.”

“And you, Koriand’r, do you accept Richard as your husband?”

Kori smiled brightly, “I do.”

Raven raised the box to them, “Now you may exchange rings.”

Dick took the ring with his name engraved inside of it and raised it to Kori’s hand. “May I?” and when she nodded he slid the ring onto her ring finger. It was a golden band with Tamaranian symbols engraved into its outside, and a blue gem displayed in the middle of the band.

Kori then took the other ring, the one with her name engraved inside of it and brought it over Dick’s hand. She quickly slid it onto his ring finger. The rings were a perfect match, except Dick’s had a purple gem instead of blue. They carried each other’s name and color on their ring fingers now.

Raven’s eyes sparkled again and a purple mist radiated off of her, “I now pronounce you husband and wife!”

Dick didn’t have to be told twice as he pulled Kori into a kiss, leaning up slightly to get the perfect kiss. And their audience cheered, their fellow Titans clapping the loudest.

“Congratulations” Raven pulled her hood back. Her eyes had turned back to normal now.

Dick was still holding his now wife’s torso when they parted from their kiss, “Shall we get to our reception party, Mrs Grayson-Wayne?”

Koriand’r Grayson-Wayne, she liked the sound of that. “We shall.”

The food Alfred had prepared for the party was exquisite. There was chicken, multiple salads, smashed potatoes, several vegan options. Not to mention an entire desert table. The wedding cake alone was three layers tall, covered in frosting, and had decorative letters with the groom and bride’s names.

Dick was the favorite grandchild and it was slightly showing.

The Titans all filled up their plates and sat down at one of the few long dining tables that had been set up. The Young Justice crew sat at the adjacent table and were currently being told about Kryptonian weddings by Kara.

“I can’t believe we’re married” Kori said she put her plate on the table. She couldn’t stop smiling and looking down at her wedding ring, watching it shine under the sunlight.

“I know right” Dick kissed her temple as he took a seat beside his wife.

“So who do we think will get married next?” Wally asked as he pulled a chair for Linda.

Artemis snorted, “You’re ready for the next one?”

Wally thought for a minute and glanced over to another couple, “I bet it’s gonna be Garfield and Raven, you too have been together for almost as long as Dick and Kori.”

Raven stopped her fork mid bite, “Us?”

“Yeah why not, don’t you want to?” Donna pushed.

Garfield fumbled, “Well….I-I ummm. Raven what do you think?” Sure they’d been dating for several years, but married? He did wonder what their kids would look like though, being part demon, part human, and part shapeshifter.

“I’m going to be Raven’s maid of honor!” Kori said kicking her feet. “It’s a fair trade.”

“Thanks Kori.”

Dick slammed a hand on the desk, “I call dibs on being Wally’s best man, when younger married.”

Wally grinned, he already planned on picking Dick anyway. “Thanks man.”

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves” Linda nudged her boyfriend.

Artemis barked out a laugh, “My money is on these two” and she pointed to Jason and Roy.

Jason sighed dramatically, “I don’t know, Roy hasn’t proposed to me yet.”

Roy scoffed, “Who says I need to propose to you?” But it didn’t seem that Jason was put off by the idea of getting married, that was good. Great actually.

Jason put a hand on his chin, “Well you asked me to be your boyfriend, makes sense you ask me to be your husband.” Then Roy kicked his boyfriend under the table, making everyone laugh.

Dick started cutting his chickens, “You know, if they weren’t so young my money would be on Tim and Conner.”

Jason hummed, “I can see it.”

“And what about you Garth?” Billy  asked, he was currently the only Titan not in a relationship.

Garth thought for a moment, “Once I find my soulmate, yes I’d like to get married.”

Wally got up and raised his glass, “A toast then. Cheers, to us!”

They all clicked their glasses over the table, “To us!”

—————————————————

Bruce was grabbing a cupcake from the dessert table when he spotted Selina snatching some for herself. “Ah Selina, nice to see you..”

“Always a pleasure Bruce” she grabbed a cupcake with purple frosting off the table.

Bruce followed and grabbed one as well, “Haven’t seen you the past few weeks.” Catwoman hadn’t made an appearances or committed any robberies in three weeks, Bruce had started to get worried something bad had happened.

Selina gave him a serious look, “I have news I wanted to share.”

Bruce’s posture stiffened, “Good news hopefully.”

Selina looked straight into his eyes, “I found my soulmate.”

Bruce newly dropped the cupcake, “Congratulations.” He still cared deeply for Selina even if their relationship had ended.

“Thank you.”

“Do I know him?”

Selina gave a cryptic look, “He’s an old friend of ours.”

Bruce gave a dead pan expression, “I have many friends.” The list was extensive to say the least.

Selina raised an eyebrow, “Aren’t you the world’s greatest detective? I’ll let you figure it out” and then she began walking away.

Bruce stood there with a cupcake in hand and gears turning. He loved a challenge, he’d surely figure out that mystery later.

“Bruce, it’s so good to see you” Martha Kent came up behind him.

Bruce turned around to face them. “Martha, Jonathan I’m glad you could make it.”

“I hope I get to after your wedding with Clark one day” Jonathan said.

“Pa!” Clark yelled from across the dining area, where he’d been sitting with some of the kids along with Kara, Zatanna, and Kate.

Martha brushed her son off, “Oh your father is just joking sweetheart.”

“I think that’s my cue to leave” Bruce extracted himself from the conversation and went over to sit with Clark. Leaving the Kents chatting with Alfred and commissioner Gordon.

—————————————————

After everyone had dined Tim got out the sound system and started playing some music on a playlist Kori and Dick had helped create. And everyone got on the dance floor.

Dick and Kori shared their first dance. Followed by Kori dancing with her brother while Dick danced with Bruce.

Dick had quite a few dances actually, first with Bruce, then one with Alfred, followed by a dance with each one of his brothers. And one dance with Bruce and Clark which he branded as ‘world’s finest dance’.

Then everyone got down on the dance floor together, even the dogs.

Damian and Jonathan danced together, especially since Damian had taught Jon some of his favorite moves. Kori, Cassie, Donna, Ryand’r, Kara,  and Krypto danced in the sky above the dance floor, flying circles in the air while holding hands. The rest of their friends danced below them, until the boys decided to pick up Dick and get Kori to pick him up.

Clark and Bruce shared a dance a little off to the side of the commotion. They’d attended so many galas together in the past yet had never danced together, put nowadays they quite enjoyed dancing together. But they failed to notice Alfred and the Kent watching them from a distance, though they tried to avoid looking.

Meanwhile, Tim and Conner danced together in the middle of the chaos.  Tim had taught Conner a lot about music and pop culture in the last few months. Not to mention all the photos Tim had taken of the two of them for his photography hobby. And Conner had convinced Tim to get a piercing on one of his ears of the he could wear matching piercing with their initials.

Tim had his arms wrapped around Conner’s neck while Con held onto his boyfriend’s waist.

“Tell me something” Tim leaned his head against Con’s shoulder.

“What?”

Tim looked at him through his lashes, “Do you regret any of it?” He whispered.

Conner stopped moving, “Regret what?” What the heck was Tim talking about?

Tim looked up mischievous, “Running away that day? Do you regret that?”

Conner scoffed and Tim leaned back up, “Are you kidding, running away was the best thing that happened to me.” He cupped Tim’s cheek, “Running away gave me a family, a dad, helped me mend my relationship with Clark, a brother, and you Tim….how could I regret any of that?”

Tim looked at him loving, into the blue eyes he adored looking into. Especially in places like this where he didn’t have to wear those hypo glasses. “Love you Conner.”

“Love you too Tim” and he leaned down to kiss his boyfriend.

The last four months had been the best part of Conner’s short life. He’d gotten to finally experience what truly living felt like, and he looked forward to what the future held for him and his new family.

Back when he’d first decided to run away he had no plan and no idea what he’d do, but in the end running away hadn’t been that bad. It was probably one of the best decisions he’d ever made…

Notes:

It’s over 🥹😭

It had to end with Tim and Conner because at the end of the day this fic was Conner focused and TimKon at the forefront.

That being said while it is sad that it’s over, there will be the epilogue fic. (I seriously cannot believe this entire thing came out of an instagram reel which I took completely out of context 😅). I’ve already made this fic part of the series so I suggest you subscribe to the series if you’re interested that way you’ll be notified when I start the epilogue fic. Which will hopefully be soon.

Thank you all again for coming on this journey with me. It was so much fun writing this and seeing all your feedback and reactions. It was a wonderful ride and I hope to see some of you as I write the epilogue, or any of my other works.

Bye guys! Until we meet again

Edit: I’ve already published the sequel fic
